laundrylover · 14/03/2006 19:55

Gosh with c-sections and inductions lined up it'll be a baby a day this week eh? Good luck to all those imminent mums....My friend's daughter popped today (she's only 18) and did 3am - 1.30pm all in with only gas and air - respect due!! Little girl but no more details - I'm really proud of her and keep bursting into tears!!
I saw my MW today and we both got doubts about head and bum presentation. She did an internal but said my cervix is shut tight so she couldn't feel anything. Then went to labour ward for another squeeze and a quick scan - all well but that head looked a bit big!!!
Anyways now I'm home and sore all over and bursting into tears and DP at footie Sad. So have put Tilly to bed early and am getting into the pool to chill out. Am also trying to finish my work but one client is querying an December invoice and won't pay up so am not pleased. Grrrrr what a whinge , sorry girls!Grin

InternationalGirl · 14/03/2006 20:19

Congratulations to Chellebelle on Emily's arrival Smile
marne - hope this is your night Grin
munz - sorry to hear the inlaws are driving you crazy Sad
Vickiyumyum and romilly - Sending positive vibes and looking forward to hearing babes have arrived safely. Smile Smile

UniSarah · 14/03/2006 20:22

Back home at las. Edward is fit and well and has a oud pair of lungs and no idea of how to fall asleep. We are both V tired. I'll post more at anther point. now need to phone my bro, then unblock loo ( it was my fault) and then want a nap while Paul is on cuddle duty before next feed.

UniSArah
PS- Breast feeding is great, I 'm loveing it, just me and him and a whole lot of contentment.

RosiePosie · 15/03/2006 08:11

Hi everyone, just popping in - huge congratulations to everyone who has had their babies and best of luck to those still waiting.

Things a bit mixed here, the reality of life with three is hard work and baby Matthew is a very fractious newborn. It took me over a week to feel physically well enough to do much else than get out of bed - this third time really has been the hardest all around. Number two was a doddle! Ah well, taking it a day at a time at the moment. Breastfeeding at the moment, which is going well, but has confirmed my suspicions that I don't actually enjoy breastfeeding, full stop. Dreading dh going back to work next week.

Sorry for the very miserable post! We're taking it a day at a time, and I'm sure it'll get better soon enough! Is there going to be a postnatal club??

Frizbe · 15/03/2006 09:04

Hi RP glad to hear that your doing ok, even if the BF isn't meeting expectations, I hated it last time round, but am finding it better at the moment Smile hope your little one settles a bit more soon.
Unisarah same for you, hope your little one learns how to sleep soon!
LL hope your feeling better today, hormones are great aren't they!!

Munz as I think you were the one to start the March thread in the 1st place, would you like to start the postnatal one when you get a sec? or would you like me to do it!

Hope all are well and we have some more bouncing bubbas soon.

dd2 was a dream last night, slept 11.30-5.30 and didn't even cry for a feed, just made a few snorty noises enough to wake me and get me on the job!! then she's passed out again, so I boobed her in her sleep at 7.30 and she's still asleeep! wow Grin

Frizbe · 15/03/2006 09:11

Rom, good luck for today hon, can't wait to hear your birth story Smile

newgirl · 15/03/2006 12:41

Hi there

First, huge apologies if I miss anyone - I am a complete mush-head now. Hello gorgeous new babies!!

Good luck on thurs vyy!

Hi Rp - sorry to hear the feeding is a drag - I bet you are not the only one. You are usually so chipper so I hope you are ok.

welcome home unisarah - sorry to hear about the loo!!!

I am now booked in for a c-section next Tues - I will be about 10 days over I think. I saw the consultant yesterday (who was very handsome by the way) and baby is in a duff position again, with cord around tum holding her/him up out of the way. Bump is measuring 45 cm which is partly due to it not being head down and also means probably 10lb! What a laugh, so I signed on the dotted line pretty sharpish I can tell you!!! So I am all excited now and off to repack some larger baby clothes for hospital!!

ps munz - there was a christopher ecclestone doll in woolies yesterday!!!! DH said he would get it for me to keep me company in hospital!

Take care everyone x

laundrylover · 15/03/2006 12:46

Hi all and thinking of you Rom, hope for news soon....
RP, sorry you are finding it tough going - I can't imagine what it would be like with three so keep posting when you have time. Sad you are not enjoying the Bfing but it's not the end of the world to go onto bottles you know! Mind you in the long run I think boob is easier eh?
UniSarah, you sound fab apart from the blocked loo! Keep us posted.
Friz, I'm much better today but really lost it last night and cried for hours about nothing! Am desperate for this baby to arrive as have had enough of this pregnancy turmoil - never again and I mean it this time!!
By the way, my midwife gave me her personal mobile number and says she would do my birth even if she is off work if it's at a reasonable hour! I thought this was so lovely that I cried (again!!). Smile

RosiePosie · 15/03/2006 12:55

To be honest, the breastfeeding is the easiest option now - much simpler to just plug him in than to faff about with bottles. I shouldn't complain because the bf is going really well technically - I just don't enjoy it really. Ah well. . .

I'm fine really. . just exhausted!

laundrylover · 15/03/2006 13:31

Rosie, complain away! that's what we're here for. No wonder you're exhausted, you're not wonder woman! Has your spd disappeared now? Mine has been much better of late, especially now that the baby has stopped bouncing on my pubic bone!
NewGirl, your baby sounds very naughty! Fingers crossed for Tues...
Have booked myself in for a back massage this afternoon and requested the chair - might just get comfy if I can move this foot out of my side! Sun is out and washing ready to go on the line including a very cute new Bamboozle nappy that fairly warmed my cockles!Grin

InternationalGirl · 15/03/2006 13:35

Friz - what a good little baby sleeping so well at night... Grin
rosieposie - one day at a time... Smile
LL - I'm with you on 'never again' - this is no. 3 and I'm also desperate to have babe out.

Unisarah - glad to hear you are home and Edward is doing well - especially with bfeeding, bummer about the loo - hope it's been fixed.
newgirl - you sound pleased about the cs - I guess the babe must have done a little twist on purpose knowing mum would be happy Grin

It must be nice to know exactly when you will have babe.

Raging hormones here - so raging my 11 yr old dd started her periods last night Shock has to be more than a coincidence! Definitely v. achey, Ob/Gyn said on Monday I was 1cm dilated so obviously somethings working down there. Think she did a little sweep as well to see if it would help move things this week. Back in on Monday and if nothing's happened we'll probably talk about induction towards the end of next week... bring on the babe. Think I'd rather have sore nipples than the constantly achey body... Smile

vickiyumyum · 15/03/2006 21:51

well ladies, my last post for a couple of days! off to the hospital tomorrow for my section, then a few days rest in hospital (huh what a joke if its not my baby crying it will be someone elses :o) all going well should be home saturday or sunday, just hope now i have'nt got my expectations up to high after the c/s with ds2 being so great!

anyway will keep you all informed as soon as i can, no good asking dh to post here as he's useless! and will probably forget, or be too busy at the pub with his mates while my mum has the kids and i am out of the way! as long as he puts the champagne on ice for when i get home i don't mind.

UniSarah · 15/03/2006 22:02

irst attempt at posting with ed on my chest, o only one handed! maybe more than normal typos.
dh is in bed having a nap, ed is asleep in my arms.
Good luck to all those due/overdue/awaiting c-sections/inductions.
V breif birth story-
waters broke thursday evening, some meconium stainung and baby not engaged. We were advised to head to hospital for assesment. On monitoring it was seen that baby heart trace was not great, not dreadfull but not great. so were offered imediate induction.(41 wks at that point).Pessery inserted and put on monitor overnight in a delevery room. not much sleep and contrations started in a mild way from 11pm. overnight baby heart trace didn't improve. Started syntocinion drip at 9.30 am to encourage things to progress.
contrations built up during the morning, but not much dilation occurred.still only 2cm. then membranes were ruptured as they were partly over cervix still.
I wemnt a bit bonkers at this point, and don't remember much, contractions V strong , v unpleasent. epidural in eventully. baby giving cause for conern as heart rate diping with each contration.5cm dilated mid afternoon. epidural kicked in, i came back to planet .8pm, still only 5cm, babys heart still dipping, and hes turned round and is now presenting the wide bit of his head and is STILL not really engaged. Drs start talking about C section. decision made at 9 ish, Ed produced at 10.04.
so, an eventfull 24 hours.
I was kept in for 3 days, they had talked about 4 but i was bored and mobile and asked to go home.
Not quite the low tech home birth we hoped for, but I'd rather have healthy babe than blindly follow a plan that wasn't right for this kid.
going to stop now, arm rather tired holding Ed.
Will go and check nappy which should wake him enough for a feed. then hopefully a few more hours sleep... I should be so lucky.
UniSarah
ps- loo all sorted, very cold water to stick hand down U bend in, eek.
pps- we made it out of the house today, walked down the road to mums and babes group to show the boy off.

balancingact · 15/03/2006 22:33

blimey unisarah, what an eventful birth! Shock but glad that everything worked out in the end....
congratulations to everyone who's had their angels arrive....

Marne · 17/03/2006 10:47

Baby saffron was born on the 15th at 4.25 weighing 7lb9oz, got home last night, very sore and stiff but well worth it. Saffron almost slept through last night which is more than we can say for her big sister who thinks she has a new dolly. Congratulations to catj, we were due on the same date!
