manicmumtobe · 17/03/2006 14:51

More congrats to all the new mums, you all sound so happy it is over, getting v jealous..v interested to see different views on bfeeding..am gonna decide on the night me thinks!
Frizbe like the idea of removing the xbox memory thingy, if I knew how too!!!! Between that and calling the moby constantly reckon I could have tears by midnight:)Revenge can be so good, thanks for the tips girls! One week to go and still waiting for my breakie in bed as recommended by all the mags..ha ha!
VYY hope all gone well, not surprised to see probs with dishwasher now though!Think I would have had nervous breakdown if I were you by now!
Lotsa sympathy to those with the difficult births (is there actually such a thing as an easy one?)but respect for the positive vibes after..hope I can follw suit!
Good luck to those remaining and looking forward to reading more birth stories with a morbid fascinationGrin

RosiePosie · 17/03/2006 18:47

Congrats to those I haven't congratulated yet Smile

Off topic, but did any of you get a Cosatto Duet Lite, and if so what do you think of it? I had a Marco last time around, but the handle bars were too tall.

I really like my Phil and Ted's as a single, and think it will be great as a toddler double, but I'm not liking the newborn position at all, and want to get something to bridge the gap.

CadMum · 17/03/2006 20:27

Hello all!

My parents finally left yesterday so life will be getting back to normal after days of playing tour guide in New York City. We went to MoMA, the Guggenheim, up the Empire State Building, caught a Rangers' hockey game, walked over the Brooklyn Bridge, went on boat and bus tours, toured the Intrepid air craft carrier, saw the zoo in Central Park. All in all a crazy week even without 3 chidren and a newborn. I am exhausted and still having trouble with the feeding.

Hope you are all well. Big Congratulayions on the new babies and can't wait for the next arrivals.

CadMum · 17/03/2006 20:29

oops! Can"t spell/type with baby in my lap!

Frizbe · 18/03/2006 08:56

Cadmum talk about overdoing it Shock you make sure your looking after yourself and try to have a bit quieter week now ok! Wink

Rom any news??? thinking of you Smile

RP I got the duetlite!! It's not bad, although the shopping basket is nothing to write home about.....but it has handlebars you can hang things from, so that makes up for it.....also didn't realise when I brought it, it has inflatable tyres, which can be a pain if they puncture, but so far seem to be ok! For kid seating and space its great, dd1 is happy 'driving' in the front and dd2 is snug as a bug in the back hth's

Gotta dash as beeing screamed at!

laundrylover · 18/03/2006 11:56

Cadmum - take it easy woman! I thought the whole idea of relatives staying was to make your life easier??!! Time to kick back and maybe the feeding will begin to settle eh? I met a girl yesterday who fed with nipple gaurds for a whole year due to latching probs and loved it so could be worth a go?
RP and Friz - slow down with the buggy lingo!!!Grin RP you sound perkier - feeding getting better?
Manic - you'll get breakfast in bed on Mother's Day if not before eh but make sure you mark it clearly on the calender!! If you want to BF you need to be pretty determined I think but we will all be here to support you whatever you do. Golden rule is that they WILL survive and thrive until your milk comes in and if they are whinging it's just 'cos they're a newborn baby and that's their job - NOT because they 'want' a bottle!!!Grin

laundrylover · 18/03/2006 12:05

helencook2711 · 18/03/2006 23:16

Hey all, Congrats on all these new arrivals, all biggun's too !! Thought I wasn't getting fed up, but SPD has stepped up a gear, and walking is challenge. Am now feeling very guilty to all friends in the past that have mentioned it, and I don't feel I gave them that much sympathy-but hell now I know! Now we're just waiting for news on Rom, so hope all went well. Good Luck to NewGirl, if I don't catch up by Tues-thats a fair size bump you've got there, I'd be signing too! Big welcome to Jenny, i'm also due on 23rd, as is Spiker on this thread. Catch you, all later. Hels.x

balancingact · 19/03/2006 08:14

Hello ladies, i think today is the day for me Smile! I am posting this between contractions that are mind numbingly painful - strange though -sometimes they are 10 minutes apart, other time about 5 mins apart...but the contractions are not that long - maybe about 30 -40secs at the moment. DH is in the shower now - i think still not believing it's really going to happen (i am due tomorrow). Please wish us some luck - i am hoping that there are enough staff in the hospital! Hope to be back online sooN!

laundrylover · 19/03/2006 09:29

Balancingact - think you stole my labour!!!GrinGood luck it really does sound like the real thing......
Well obviously mine all stopped by the time I went to bedSadso after another night of insomnia and a morning retching I am back to my grumpy old self!! Thanks for the vibes though girls.
Please make it come out soon!!!!

Frizbe · 19/03/2006 10:14

Marne · 19/03/2006 13:08

Hi all,
Had a bad night with saffron, midwife thinks shes having a groth spurt, also my stitches have become badly infected and im on antibiotics, midwife has just been to see me and my blood presure is high and my heart beat is fast so i have to rest for a few days ( a bit hard when you have a 2 yo to look after) anyway shes comming back to check on me tomorow, fingers crossed the antibiotics will start working. Feeling very low and tearful.

Good luck to all you people in labour or almost in labour.

CadMum · 19/03/2006 17:04

Oh Marne! That sounds horrible. Do try to find a way to rest so that you recover more quickly...

laundrylover · 19/03/2006 18:08

Marne, how awful for you, the last thing you need. Hope the antibiotics kick in soon and can you sit in a tea tree bath for your stitches? Who is around to help you with the kids, get them to do as much as they can andyou take it easy.
Keep us posted....sending hugs aplenty.
