Bunty how was midwife apmt? And stronger line on test - does that mean hormone levels going up? I did another yesterday (couldn't help it!) and test line was really strong and control line much fainter. I decided that's a good thing!

PricklyPickle · 03/05/2012 17:19

Bunty you're probably right. I'm ashamed to admit i get a bit muddled with the week+day terminology - plus I'm wishing the time away.

How are you feeling now?

BuntyCollocks · 03/05/2012 18:16

birdie it was a bit of nothing really! Blood pressure check and that was it! I've got an appt with one of the one to one midwifes from the service on the Wirral who have said they'll take me on on Monday so am looking forward to that.

prickly still not brilliant to be honest, it's pulling when I walk, so I do think pulled muscle or round ligament.

cosysocks · 03/05/2012 20:33

Hi everyone, been a bit of a horrible week, had terrible pain on tues night so took self to a&e and they tested hgc levels suspect ectopic.
My bloods came back as 5225 which the gyno said is a sign of a normal pregnancy. I have a scan on Tuesday at 9am so I'm keeping fingers crossed but I'm being hopeful as pain disappeared and if they are letting me wait a week then they can't be that worried.
Mind all confused over dates.... last period began 27th March which gives me date of 1/1/13 or on other calculators 31/12/12. Gyno said oh your just four weeks???!!!

pmgkt · 03/05/2012 20:35

for those that are on number 2, or more, when do bumps start to show, i think the theory is that second time around you show quicker, but how much quicker? is there any chance of people not guessing. now im wishing i lost more baby weight after ds1 and toned the tummy muscles a bit more!!!

discobeads · 03/05/2012 22:15

cosy - have fingers firmly crossed for you. Is it your first baby? Because stretching ligament pains are quite painful (even 2nd time around). Having said that, please do keep going back to docs/a&e if you continue to suffer serious pain.

pmgkt I look about 12 weeks pregnant at just about 5 weeks. Pretty rubbish, though the cool weather means i can wear fleeces/hoodies and hide it for a few more weeks.

Midwife called today, I have appointment on 25th May :) exciting :)

still no sickness here which is OUTSTANDING compared with my last pg. However skin is progressively getting worse :( So dont hold your breath....

AngelFairy · 03/05/2012 23:14

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well x

Welcome pmg, Kat & Rachel - Congratulations on your BFPs!

Cosy - I'm sure they wouldn't have sent you home if they suspected anything. Your HCG numbers are good though, so I think you can relax x

Afm, my Bur is well and truly grounded when he finally makes an appearance!
Had me dropping my basket and running out of Sainsburys thinking I was going to throw up or see my heart pop out of my chest!
I had to go back into store to get my CB digitals Blush
Anyone else suffering dreaded nausea?

Birdies · 04/05/2012 07:58

Cosy poor you that sounds really scary. Also agree that sounds very positive to have sent you home though so really hope it will be fine.

angelfairy I can't tell if I have sickness due to preg or not. My little one decided to wake at 5am this morning so it could be tiredness. Also I had a horrid tummy bug earlier in the week, so also could be that. But something tells me it's pregnancy-related. I never had any sickness during my first (except feeling mildly sick when I thought about sprouts, which normally I love!!), so I'm not too sure what it's like.

I do seem to be getting other things though - had about 4 nightmares last night. Also feel boiling hot in the night (even though room isn't hot). Anyone else getting this? Oh what fun, all the worry and everything we put ourselves through - its so worth it though!

Ps what are CB digitals?!

Pascha · 04/05/2012 08:29

D-day tonight when DH gets back. I'm 5+2 today. I did think about telling him on the phone but no way could he cope with the news that way.

I haven't really had symptoms apart from needing to wee a million times a day and really sore breastfeeding, I think my supply is dropping already. Last time the sickness made an appearance at 11 weeks and stayed and this time it seems to be going the same way.

Sorry I haven't been back for a few days, Cosy and Bunty I hope everything settles down for you now. Congrats and hello to everyone joining the thread.

Pascha · 04/05/2012 08:31

Hello Birdies, CB digital is ClearBlue digital tests I think. Smile

cosysocks · 04/05/2012 12:33

Thanks everyone I'm thinking that it must be positive that they are letting me wait.
Disco second so that's why I wanted it to get checked out. Wow your starting to show already...how exciting (not if your wanting to hide it for time being). I'd forgotten about bump envy...can't wait to start showing!
I'm lucky that i've not really suffered yet with nausea, YET!!
It's lovely to see the thread filling up with so many of us.
Pasha let us know your DH's reaction.

Pascha · 04/05/2012 12:49

cosy my LMP was 29/3 which puts me at 03/01/13 but because my cycle is short the online calculators all come up with 01/01/13. I don't know which is right, I'm almost hoping I deliver at 38 weeks so just before christmas. I don't want 03/01 as it's an uncomfortable date for certain members of my family.

No bump here and hopefully not til we get past the 12 week scan. I'm not telling anyone til I know its ok.

missymooboo · 04/05/2012 13:57

Hi ladies, not been on for few days as been so tired been going to bed when kids do! So lovely to see so many others joining thread........welcome and congrats to you all.

Went to gps to request early scan due to previous mc's and just got answer phone message to say week today. That will make me 5+5/6, and bit worried its too early as thought it was only from 6weeks you could see baby's heart beat, does anyone know? Think some on here having early scans too so when are you having yours?

Constipation driving me mad. (sorry tmi)

Xxxxxx

BuntyCollocks · 04/05/2012 16:59

Hi all.

cosy and pascha good luck.

missy I feel you on the tiredness. My nausea has settled somewhat, but I definitely have my moments, and my sense of smell is phenomenal - not helping with the nausea! Can I make a suggestion re the constipation? A glass of fresh orange every day. I have started already and nowhere near as bad this time.

My twinges have settled today, and are now only if I move wrong- think I definitely have just pulled something or it's the ligaments, with a 24lb toddler it wouldn't surprise me!

Cant wait - early scan 2 weeks tomorrow! Can't wait to tell people as well. I am an emotional write off.

Rachel37 · 05/05/2012 07:37

Thanks everyone for the welcomes onto this blog

Thanks Birdies for the information on the pregnancy book, I will order one shortly.

Angel Fairy I'm suffering with dreadful nausea, how long does it usually last for up to 12 weeks I'm only at week 5! It's really only started this week... horrible when I'm on the bus or tube I feel like I'm going to throw up and is making me terrible. Dry tea biscuits seem to help a little.

I'm usually so active at the gym going 4 times a week but I've found this week that I can't face it... Has anyone got any recommendations on what exercises you should or shouldn't be doing? Was thinking yoga, pilates and running? Not sure if using the cross trainer or rowing machine is allowed?

x

TootieMaroo · 05/05/2012 09:03

Cosy fingers crossed for you. Agree that they wouldn't have let you go if it was serious but still, it must have been very scary.

Bunty my DD was born on 3/2/2011 so I seem to be following you by a few days again with DC2! Wink

Pascha how did it go with DH? Do tell!

Birdies I've also had a really runny tummy for the past week or so. I've been doing some googling extensive research and it's apparently normal in the early days. Something about the progesterone causing muscles to relax and slowing down digestion. I'm guessing this is not part of the so-called 'pregnancy glow'! Grin

missy how exciting to be having an early scan! I'm not sure how early you can see the heartbeat but it must be soon. I can't remember exactly what I'm supposed to do now that I'm pregnant with regard to getting in touch with my GP or having a scan Blush. I'm hoping someone with some knowledge on this thread can point me in the right direction away from the biscuit tin would be a good start.

Rachel37 I always found that stem ginger nairns oatcakes were really helpful on the tube and bus, but in the end, I gave up the tube altogether because it was so hot in the summer.

I've not had any nausea yet but I've been waking up very early in the morning, like 6am, same as when I was pregnant with DD. So annoying, especially on a Saturday. We have the ILs with us today and tonight, so I need to get my energy up so that MIL doesn't suspect!

LittleMissSnowShine · 05/05/2012 10:32

Hello ladies, just optimistically marking my place on here, had a v faint BFP on a FRER test yesterday. I've got pcos and sometimes my cycles are extremely regular, other times a bit up the left. Im on CD32 so I'm going to test again on Tues and if it's a clearer BFP i'll hopefully be due around 14th Jan.

But i'll check back in with you again next week if that's the case...fingers crossed!!

And congrats to you all, hope I'll be able to join you counting down the weeks

Rachel37 · 05/05/2012 20:48

Thanks TootieMaroo I will buy some stem ginger oatcakes tomorrow. I did buy some Ginger pieces from Holland & Barrett for a few days but now they are making me feel sick just feeling about them... it's crazy how you get cravings and feel sick over smells etc. I can't stop eating buttered toast!

BuntyCollocks · 06/05/2012 18:10

Welcome, littlemiss and congratulations :)

rachel - try travel sickness bands. I have been really suffering today, had these as I've had morning sickness with this pregnancy from the get go, but milder - they seem to be doing the trick today! Just put them on and feel a hundred times better. You can get them at boots for about £8.50.

kim222 · 06/05/2012 19:08

Hi ladies, very excited to say that my due date is 8th Jan, first baby and having so many different emotions right now, excited, scared, frighened all at the same time! So far told the in laws and seeing my mum tomorrow to tell her, can't wait! No nausea or sickness yet but a few cramps, headache for 3 days now and so very tired!
Congrats to everyone!

AprilMeadow · 06/05/2012 20:12

Hello ladies,

Congratulations to you all on your BFP's. Didn't expect to be back on an AN thread EVER but here I am having just found out i'm expecting #5!!!!!!!!

My dc's are 7,5,2.7 & 13mths.

My EDD is something like the 4/1/13. Cycles have been all over the shop since i had dc4 and stopped feeding him 7mths ago.

Feel very nervous about having another and spent most of Monday crying about it!

Looking forward to seeing all the pg's progress & getting to know you all x

Littlemissimpatient · 07/05/2012 08:35

Hi everyone congrats on your bfp!
April meadow number 5 wow!! I really don't know how u do it!!
AF due Fri, tested Fri and got BFP yeah!! Grin
Had 2 previous mc so just marking my place really just in case. Edd 10/1/12 but trying not to get too excited yet. NI symptoms apart from cramps Sad

Littlemissimpatient · 07/05/2012 08:36

That should be NO symptoms not NI! Oops stupid phone

Rachel37 · 07/05/2012 15:06

Congratulations to AprilMeadow, Kim 222 and Littlemissimpatient.

Thanks Buntycollocks, I've bought the sickness bands a couple of hours ago... not too bad at the moment so fingers crossed they work. Glad to hear that they have worked for you today. I'm trying to eat as much as possible it does seem to help. Ref the sickness bands, I won't be able to wear the bands at work otherwise people might suspect. It's going to be so hard to keep it secret up to the 12 weeks date. So hoping the sickness doesn't get any worse otherwise I may have to tell my boss sooner than expected!

AprilMeadow · 07/05/2012 15:14

Rachel, a friend of mine who is 13wks made sure she wore cardigans even if they were thin to hide the bands untils she was ready to tell people.

The key to sickness is to eat little and often, plain crisps, biscuits, raisins etc. it's about making sure that your tummy isn't empty.
