mmm - slow digestion....
and wait until breastfeeding starts... time to bring out the movicol and the lactulose. And if by any chance to had a CS too, well... shovel in those fibers and drink your water.
[remembers embarassing plight to DH to come back from work cause I was stuck in toilet in pain with wailing newborn in cot next door]

allchik · 17/06/2012 21:03

Noooo!Really?thats awful lol :) I swear the romantic ideal of pregnancy doesnt paint this picture...also,Im 11wks n my sickness has gone from being every day,to only every few days...dya think thats normal? Had a mmc in feb so get a bit worried x x

pmgkt · 17/06/2012 21:04

I don't remember suffering at all last time or when feeding or cs, in fact everything is different this time so convinced its a girl.

CraftyGirly · 17/06/2012 21:35

allchik I'm 9+6 and havent had MS since 9+1 :( it disappeared very suddenly overnight along with nausea so I'm quite worried tbh, will be going out of my mind by the time my scan date arrives in 3 weeks.

allchik · 18/06/2012 07:24

Oh crafty its crap isnt it!u feel crap when sick but then panic when ur not! Does it feel like t scan date is dragging? Mines on Wed but feels like a million yrs away,I do know quite a few people who lost their symptoms around t 10wk mark, but u still worry! Sending reasuring vibes!x

PricklyPickle · 18/06/2012 08:40

I'm 11+6 and My nausea disappeared at least a week ago. It really panicked me at first too, but it really does seem different for everyone. It doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, it just means we're some of the lucky ones who don't suffer ms for too long. I think about 25% of women don't get it at all. The wind hasn't gone away though. I'm also comforted by the fact that I'm sure I can feel a little bump forming, I'm almost certain its not cake-based!

Dating scans begin this week, exciting! My scan is this Thursday and of course time is crawling by. This has been the longest 2 months of my life. I CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER!!!

pmgkt · 18/06/2012 08:50

Mine is Friday morning and will be so pleased to be telling people as I have been avoiding those that don't know gos I feel huge and obvious. It will be slighty awkward though as my dh is best man for his brother the day before my current edd. And its and hour and a half away from home. Hey Ho these things can't be helped.

SpringFlowers · 18/06/2012 12:20

Exciting that the scans are coming around! I am 9+2 and am very poorly. I've finally given up and am not at work. I just feel sick all the time. Sometimes it's so awful I can only lie down and not move. I am eating but I find it revolting and can mainly eat mashed potato. I am glad to hear other people coming out the other side, at least there is some hope!

pmgkt - very tricky having your dd so close to a wedding. Most babies are not born on the date I suppose, but it feels nicer that your dh is going to be nearby.

We are going to need a new thread, anyone feeling inspired to set one up?

SilverSixpence · 18/06/2012 12:33

hi everyone,
I've been off the thread for ages, can't believe it's nearly full! i've been away on holiday to Turkey - gorgeous weather but i didn't enjoy it quite as much as i would have non-pregnant, felt dizzy and sick quite a lot and even had to forgo a trip to the bazaar.

My blood pressure is really low, usually 80/50 but can go down to 60/40 Shock. No wonder i feel terrible all the time.

Sickness varies, i think i am luckier than most although always have background nausea, am managing to eat and have not thrown up so far. I have quite an obvious bump, though some of it is fat after the holiday!

I spoke to the organisers about the Bosnia trip, have very sadly had to withdraw as they are reluctant to take me with BP issues and pregnant, and not much point going if not doing the hike as that's the main part of the trip. I think i would have really struggled with the hike so it is the sensible option.

My scan date has arrived - 16th July! Will be 12+6 days then, not very happy. Am thinking of getting a private dating scan, does anyone have any recommendations in London (Central/East?).

Birdies · 18/06/2012 13:21

happyhow I expect we'll stop being EDD buddies when we have our scan and they give us a different date!! Then we'll all have to re-do the big list again!!

craftygirly I read somewhere that on week 9 it's common for sickness to disappear. I don't know where I read it but it wasn't so long ago. Mine comes and goes. It is never that bad.

Anyone else gone really lightheaded? I had about an hour of feeling really faint yesterday, it was horrible. I ate icecream and it seemed to do the trick :o

theboutiquemummy · 18/06/2012 13:45

Sorry Cock big hugs

Im seeing the midwife for my booking in appointment on Tuesday, i've had no date for a scan or even to see the Dr any advice on what to expect ? I'm 10 weeks now and the morning sickness is starting to wane a bit thankfully but its also worrying.

BionicEmu · 18/06/2012 15:02

Hi all. It's been a fair while since I've been here so thought I'd have a nosy. So sorry to hear about cock and all the other people who've had cause to worry recently.

A couple of weeks ago depression came back and hit me like a sledgehammer. I don't know whether it was precipitated by hormones, or coming off of a lot of medication (I usually take a lot as I have problems with my spine and pelvis, but can't take most during pregnancy.). Basically, I've been very, very low. I was stressed before I found out I was pregnant, but this pregnancy so far has pushed me past my limit. Ah well.

Had my booking in appt with MW a couple of weeks ago, was all fine. I'm going to be consultant-led again, but am going with a different hospital this time so not entirely sure what to expect. Scan date is booked for 19th July, it took some working out as I have very irregular periods (anywhere from 24-48 days in between), but we think 19th gives us the best chance of being in the NT test window.

I hope everyone's doing well, and fingers crossed the sickness is starting to subside for those of you who are the farthest along of us. x

BionicEmu · 18/06/2012 15:07

theboutique WRT scan date - for me it depends what hospital I choose. If I choose the most common one for people in my area then the MW phones them at my booking appointment and makes a scan appointment there and then. This time I chose a hospital a bit further away (couldn't face going back to the hospital I had DS at), so MW sent a form away and I got my scan date in the post.

If by Dr you mean GP, then I don't think you have to see them at all. I've heard of people who haven't been allowed to make a MW booking appt until they've seen their GP for some [paperwork?] reason, but if you can book the MW appointment then I guess you don't need to see the GP. Of course, unless there's something you want to discuss with him/her!

StormBird · 18/06/2012 15:57

Sorry to hear your news Cock . I hope you have a lot of support in RL.

Hello Everyone. (WAVES)

mrsbugsywugsy · 18/06/2012 16:36

hi everyone.

allchik definitely with you on the gas/bloating. I get really uncomfortable wind in the afternoons too, although only when I'm at work, I think because I am sitting down all of the time.

knucking hope you're OK.

Bionic I'm sorry you are feeling down. Hopefully it is the combination of hormones and coming off medication and you will start to feel better once it all settles down.

Is anyone else asthmatic? Mine has suddenly got a lot worse, possibly because I have stopped my hayfever tablets and I think hayfever sets off my asthma. I am debating whether to go to the Drs or hold out until my midwife appointment.

I've also just been given an interview on 3rd July and I have to do a 5 minute presentation. Eek! I can barely stay awake for 5 minutes at the moment...

So jealous of those of you having dating scans - mine seems ages away!

theboutiquemummy · 18/06/2012 17:34

bionicemu big hugs we are hear if you need to talk x being in pain is so blooming tiring n I bet it is depressing but you are not alone x

PricklyPickle · 18/06/2012 19:50

Ok ladies I've started new thread as we've nearly filled this one up! here it is.

Somebody please post in it, I've never started one before Smile

woody2313 · 15/08/2012 17:40

Hi - can I join this thread? This is my first, due 23/1/2013. Have been lucky enough to avoid any sickness so far, just been ridiculously tired but being a teacher at least I've got plenty of time to sleep at the moment! Had my 16 week MW appointment on Monday and got to hear the heartbeat which was a really pleasant surprise Smile
