So I POAS and oh, wow, it's positive!
From my online calculating, that puts the due date at Jan 20th, ish, 2013.

This will be my second, DS is currently 20 months old.

I'm so exciiiiiiiiiiited and I can't tell anyone yet! Also, I am looking for a new job and we're talking about buying a house. Crazy, moi?Grin

Anyone else? Grin

I've just booked in at the midwife for two weeks time. Seems real now and not just an idea.
How is everyone getting on not telling people? I have told one friend only but don't want to tell anyone else yet as I want ds to be one of first to know but he will tell everyone! Its really hard not to tell my mum though.

kelli10 · 30/04/2012 11:39

Wow reading your thread just bought a tear to my eye. This was me this time last year (nearly). My January 2012 baby is currently laying on my chest napping. Enjoy this beautiful time ladies, it's magic!! Good luck all x

BuntyCollocks · 30/04/2012 13:12

I have been bad.

I have told LOTS of people, despite DH saying not to.

I have not told him I have told people.

In my defence, it was required in most cases (waxer, gym partner, friend whose wedding we're attending at 38 1/2 weeks pregnant, friends from work I was out with who wondered why I wasn't drinking ...oh, and my parents and sister).

Kelli, my Jan 2011 baby is currently running mad around the nursery - enjoy your peaceful 2012 baby whilst it lasts! ;)

AngelFairy · 30/04/2012 14:06

Ha ha ha... Bunty, you are naughty! And is this all in the space of a morning??

I am dying to tell people.
I get texts and calls asking "How are you?" or "How's life treating you?" and I want to shriek back "I"M PREGNANT!!" ...But can't... So unfair! ((Sigh))

On the plus side, I'm 5wks tomorrow!!

missymooboo · 30/04/2012 14:54

So so want to tell people too, did tell my friend last night at work as she helped me through mc's in last year. Was away at weekend and couldn't face thinking up excuse so tipped wine down sink when no one was watchingShock what a waste!

Saw a couple of you had been on April thread, never joined but read it as was due then too, had my BFP 2 days after what would of been my due date and have found that's stopped me dwelling on what might of beenSad

Congrats to everyone, talk of midwives appointments very exciting!

BuntyCollocks · 30/04/2012 17:47

Haha, no, angel, it's been a steady drip feed!

Used my final clearblue digital today, and got my 3+! So happy!

I'm still peeing on Internet cheapies as well - they'll go off otherwise, and I've enjoyed seeing the line go darker! From a barely there line at 8dpo to there before the control line at 20dpo!

5 weeks tomorrow too! Yay!

missymooboo · 30/04/2012 18:18

Ha I'm the same, doing tests and loving seeing line go darker.

How are the cramps now Bunty?

BuntyCollocks · 30/04/2012 19:51

Much better, thanks, missy. :) now have sore boobs, as well!

How is everyone else?

TootieMaroo · 01/05/2012 12:53

Hi everyone, can I join you please? Firstly, congrats to everyone and their BFPs!

I came down with a bout of V&D (sorry, TMI) this past weekend and wasn't quite feeling right, so I POAS this morning and was delighted to see the double lines! I had posted on the 'breastfeeding and TTC' topics in the past because I breastfed 15-month DD until just about 3 months ago and AF still hadn't returned. Well, we seem to have caught the first egg, despite having only DTD once in the past three months! DH and I were in shock this morning and I've gone out to buy a digital test during my lunch hour just so I can see the word 'Pregnant' tomorrow morning as extra confirmation and hopefully get an idea as to when we conceived. We have DH's parents staying with us at the weekend and DMil is always on the watch for hints of pregnancy - any ideas as to how I can put her off the trail when really I want to shout it from the rooftop to everyone? Grin

PricklyPickle · 01/05/2012 18:38

Welcome Tootie and big congratulations on your BFP! No helpful hints for the MiL, sorry, they seem to know every trick in the book.

In other news - I still have one boob bigger than the other, but they are both hurting so I'm hoping the other one will catch up Confused

BuntyCollocks · 01/05/2012 18:43

Welcome and congrats, tootie. Your dd must have been born around the same time as my ds: I also only gave up breastfeeding 3 months ago, and ds is 15 months! I had to stop feeding to get my periods back, and we caught the 2nd egg!

Prickly: left or right? Apparently whichever one is bigger tells the sex, or so the old wives tale goes!

PricklyPickle · 02/05/2012 07:05

The left one is bigger bunty

You are a mind of information, i've never heard that before. Do you know which boob means which gender?

BuntyCollocks · 02/05/2012 07:25

According to google, bigger left = girl!

Pascha · 02/05/2012 08:55

Well hello everyone. I'm just creeping in here to hide with my due date of either 01/01/13 or 03/01/13. I did the test on saturday and haven't told anyone yet not even DH as he's been away. I will lurk for a bit now I think while I compose myself.

AngelFairy · 02/05/2012 11:32

I'm having a boy then!! Yay....

Congratulations Tootie and Pascha - We're a smiley bunch on here Grin

BuntyCollocks · 02/05/2012 11:41

[whispers] Congrats, Pascha!

Pascha · 02/05/2012 12:42

Thanks. [whispers back, this wasn't in the plan]

PricklyPickle · 02/05/2012 19:08

Wow Pascha this must be quite a mental adjustment you're going through at the moment if this was a surprise - and all on you're own too. Don't worry, you can wibble as much as you like here.

pmgkt · 02/05/2012 20:37

based on the boob theory i'm having another boy!!! Had no sickness at all last time with my son but having mild sick feelings now - so could that difference be down to a different sex or some people say twins????

KatKyn · 02/05/2012 20:45

Hi got BFP a week ago and am also due on 1/1/13! Although it sounds like a cool date I'm not sure our kids would agree as it's not the best date for parties ;0)
Got my mw appt on 17th May, this is my second, DS is 20 months. All very scary with a toddler. Oh and I am ABSOLUTEY knackered. Good luck all.

Rachel37 · 03/05/2012 06:42

Morning everyone,

I'm new to Mumsnet and have just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant very excited. So want to tell people! Having horrible nausea at the moment... ginger seems to be helping a little. Any other suggestions on what else to eat for nausea.

Also can anyone recommend a good book about pregnancy, this is my first and I know absolutely nothing!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Congrats all x

Birdies · 03/05/2012 09:30

Hi everyone. I'm allowing myself to get excited now and am obsessing over name ideas already! Will be fun to watch more and more people join this thread.

Rachel37, by far the best book I had was 'Your Pregnancy Bible' by Dr Anne Deans. I didn't read the whole thing but looked at different chapters as needed. There's a whole section near the front telling you exactly how your babba is developing each week which is lovely to read. Now I'm pregnant with my second I've got the book out again.

TootieMaroo · 03/05/2012 12:49

Congrats to Pascha and KatKyn and Rachel37 on your BFPs! Pascha when does your DH return?

Bunty my DD was born at the beginning of February 2011 so she must be close in age to your DC. I was sad to stop BF but I'll admit that I've enjoyed having my body back to myself, IYSWIM?

pmgkt I had loads of symptoms early on with my DD but don't have any symptoms now. Maybe you're having a girl and I'm having a boy? I think DH really hopes for a boy as he's already calling it a 'he'!

Oh dear, I'm slightly worried to hear about this boob theory. One of my boobs has always been slightly bigger than the other so hopefully the already big one doesn't just keep growing bigger than the other! Grin

PricklyPickle · 03/05/2012 13:57

Hello to all the newbies and congrats! We seem to be turning in to a lively little gang.

I took my belly button ring out this morning, I've had it in for about 15 years and never taken it out, it took a pair of pliers and some rubber gloves but the bloomin' thing came out eventually. I'd like my bump now please!

BuntyCollocks · 03/05/2012 16:35

Welcome Rachel, Kat and pmg - I don't know if I said hello before!

Tootie, my DS was 31/1/11! I was also the same, but so looking forward to bf'ing another scrummy newborn, and 'getting it right' this time - we had a lot of issues feeding due to an undiagnosed tongue tie :(

Prickly are we 5+3? I saw you on my other thread, suffering as I am, and noted your weeks! I thought we were 5+2 Confused
