Hello ladies, May I join you? I've just got my BFP (about an hour ago). This will be my first. According to the internet my due date will be 01/01/13 - it seems like a popular date Smile.

I have no symptoms yet and no idea what to expect - apart from a baby obviously. A lot of you seem to be far more experienced, but I'll try not to badger you too much!

missymooboo · 28/04/2012 10:52

My BIL is a doctor and think he'd start asking questions about what pills! My DS been poorly last week so might say think I'm coming down with what he had.

Hope cramps settle Bunty. Good you got lie in, rest a must.

Congrats pickle on your BFP. Ha you all seem due on 01/01/13! Think I'm due 6th

BuntyCollocks · 28/04/2012 11:35

Welcome, prickly :)

The cramps are normal for me, had them with dc1, just everything stretching, doesn't mean I don't worry, though! Along with (tmi) increased discharge and constipation, both of which have reared their head - the discharge has me running to the loo cause I think I'm bleeding :o

It'll be oj every day for me again, then ...

PricklyPickle · 28/04/2012 11:58

Thanks for the welcomes. Bunty you just made me feel better as I've been worried by my lack of symptoms, then after reading your last post I realised I've also got an abundance of discharge (also tmi) which I kept thinking was evil AF and constipation.

I suppose I really should be grateful I'm not spending my mornings throwing up!

BuntyCollocks · 28/04/2012 12:27

Glad to help, prickly!

AngelFairy · 28/04/2012 15:21

((high five)) for constipation!! Blooming annoying...

Welcome to all new comers and congratulations on your BFPs!! Smile

MrsPear · 28/04/2012 18:12

Congrats to everyone esp Disco whom i "met" on the April BFP thread.

Very nervous MrsPear due on 02/01/2013

AngelFairy · 28/04/2012 19:24

Psst: Here's a fabulous page I found on embryology that details how our babies are developing as each day goes by link x

I'm addicted to it Blush

PricklyPickle · 28/04/2012 19:25

I've had my positive pee stick on the coffee table all day as I'm waiting to show DP when he gets home from work - I know it a bit gross but who cares, I'm happy!. Now I'm wondering whether this is something I should hang on to as a keepsake or whether the correct place for something that has been pee'd on is in the bin.

Any thoughts?

MrsPear · 28/04/2012 19:49

Picture then bin. Although mine went straight in the bin didn't even show DH with this or the last one.

discobeads · 28/04/2012 19:58

hey mrsPear - it's terrifyingly exciting isnt it? Am keeping my mouth firmly shut for a couple of weeks to allow my sister to enjoy her pregnancy "first" - she is my younger sis and its her first baby :) I dont want to ruin it for her (though i know she'll be excited for me too)

cosysocks · 28/04/2012 20:19

Hello everyone, I got bfp on Monday and my ddate is the 1/1/13. See there's alot of us with the same date. Prickly I had my test down my bra hiding it from dh ready to whip it out to suprise him lol.

BuntyCollocks · 28/04/2012 22:34

Welcome mrspear and cosysocks, and congrats!

Angel, what a great link. May become obsessed, too ...

For what it's worth, I only flung out my positive pee stick for ds after his first birthday Blush. Still have the ones for this pregnancy, and will probably do the same.

JBtulip · 29/04/2012 12:01

Hi, I had my BFP well kind of it was more a little faint line. I am certain but hubby is being all refusing to get excited until I have been to the drs as he thinks it might be wrong! I guess he isn't getting the nausea, painful boobs, heightened smell, aches and tiredness, he is getting the moaning though! (moaning in a good way though :) )

Due date seems to be 1/1/13, but that is very estimated as I decided after last months totm not to calendar watch so didn't mark it down. I am really happy, excited and just a bit nervous. It is my first, we have been trying for over a year. :)

Birdies · 29/04/2012 16:06

Can I join?! I am due 5th January!! Will be my second baby. My DD is 9 months and we've had a tough time as she has a rare condition. She's perfect though and hopefully all will be fine. Can't wait to have a house full of babies, it's the most wonderful thing in the world!!

Also I had a miscarriage before my DD so i'm a little more cautious now, but still can't help being excited and very hopeful!!

Ps I can't remember when we're meant to make our first midwife apmt, anybody know?

cosysocks · 29/04/2012 18:33

Congratulations everyone.
Birdie I was wondering that too? Seems a bit eager going to midwife at just coming up 5 weeks but on other hand don't need the doc to confirm either ?

BuntyCollocks · 29/04/2012 19:32

Congrats everyone!

I've got my first mw appt on tuesday Blush We don't confirm with docs here, straight to midwife for initial chat, and then she'll sort out booking in and scans. Plus I want to check with her about exercising. I have been pretty hardcore up to now (just lost my baby weight!), and was before I was pregnant with dc1, but had to stop due to bleeding episodes, he was a threatened miscarriage, and I don't want tht worry again.

PricklyPickle · 29/04/2012 19:39

Apparently it varies depending on your GP. Some ask you to make an appointment as soon as you know, others don't care and pass you over straight to MW. I'm going to ring my doctors tomorrow and ask whether they want to see me.

I've been trawling through the archives and the overall experience seems to be that the first GP visit is very underwhelming.

I broke the news of a BFP to my DP last night. I thought he was going to throw up at first! He's very happy, but he couldn't get a sentence out without squeaking all yesterday evening, I've sent him off to work today, hopefully he'll have relaxed a bit by tonight.

pmgkt · 29/04/2012 19:59

Can i join too - found out this morning - due 3rd January with DC2. Not telling anyone yet so need somewhere to get excited.

AngelFairy · 29/04/2012 20:47

Welcome everyone... and Congratulations!
It looks like January is going to be a busy time for the stork Smile

Talking midwives makes it all seem very real... Eek!
I'm not signed off from consultant until 7wk scan confirms all is ok, but I'm told that they then write to my GP to advise. I assume I'll need to call and make an appointment, as I'll probably be three months before the letter arrives Hmm

AngelFairy · 29/04/2012 20:53

Bunty, I too am eager to exercise, as I am a Yoga teacher, but even my practice advises no exercise in the first 3mths - unless you've been doing the same exercise for years and years and your body is totally used to it, but even then, how can we know what it's doing?
I'm restricted to static stretching, very light and only certain movement arm weights, and walking...

PricklyPickle · 29/04/2012 21:17

So Angel you mean I can't do any exercise. I'm absolutely devastated about that .

AngelFairy · 29/04/2012 23:36

Smile Smile Smile... Biscuit Biscuit Just for you Prickly!

AngelFairy · 29/04/2012 23:39

Oooh, that looks a bit rude, best give you another Biscuit to avoid the embarrassment of you thinking I'm flashing my boobs at you Hmm

Oh I'm going to bed...

PricklyPickle · 30/04/2012 07:41

i thought i'd got my lucky for a minute there :o

on a similar theme i woke up this morning with one boob significantly bigger than the other. i'm going to feel wonky all day now.
