Thanks everyone. We did IVF so it was always a possibility but we'd discounted it a few weeks ago because of my HCG levels. It genuinely didn't occur to us as we went for the appointment today. We have a DD who will be 5 when these ones come along.

thereistheball · 22/03/2012 12:44

WeatWingCJ - I just tried on an old H-cup maternity bra and it didn't fit. I'm going to be out the other side of the Bravissimo range before the end of this pregnancy, for certain.

thereistheball · 22/03/2012 12:45

God I'm sorry - WestWingCJ!

WestWingCJ · 22/03/2012 13:09

Yay yay yay! to a successful IVF cycle - bet you and your OH are thrilled to bits!

TheDetective · 22/03/2012 13:21

Well done thereistheball (do you know how hard that is to type without putting spaces in arghhh!!)that is such lovely news!

Who is going to be the next one to report two little ones on those scans ladies?!

Is it ok that I am currently reliving my teenage years by belting out songs that I used to love?! I needed a little pick me up!

I just serenaded the cat to Endless Love. She clawed my lip. Nuff said

FoofFighter · 22/03/2012 13:25

I'm trying to make a shopping list of nice healthy stuff that's good for me. Determined to eat as much fresh veg and salad as I can and avoid putting much weight on as am at high risk of GD due to BMI and age.

Am fixated on wanting some liver and onions in gravy though Hmm would one serving hurt??

FoofFighter · 22/03/2012 13:26

thereistheball do you want putting on the list now?

TheDetective · 22/03/2012 13:27

The only thing I want today is a massive pile of roast potatoes. Covered in gravy.

Which, oddly enough, is what I craved with Ds...

Don't worry though, tomorrow it will change!

Feeling sick as a pig right now. Grrrrrrrrrrr.......

FoofFighter · 22/03/2012 13:33

I craved meaty gravy type stuff with DC1. Really contemplating ringing MW to ask if I can have just a bit of liver Blush I won't though, waste her time

Have just seen these on Ebay, might be useful for someone who needs work trousres to expand, looks a bit classier than a hair bobble Grin

funthatisfunny · 22/03/2012 13:45

hey peeps, you have been soooo busy! I have been nipping in for catch up reading all morning to keep me company while I work :0) Unfortunately though I have forgotton lots of stuff in the meantime.

YAY izzy am so pleased for you!

So sorry boo and fingers crossed chickenspots

Thanks for the mc stats apple, if there are any links I would love to have a squizz.

You all sounds pretty pregnant compared to me! Cramping totally died down, have sore boobs but 'inside' rather than out ;) and no sickness apart from a few waves here and there. as long as I eat I am ok. My main things are tiredness and food fussiness - the only thing I wanted to eat for brekky was ham on a white bun/baguette and I am anxious now because I know I will want that tomorrow too but don't have any white buns. I don't crave stuff but a whole load of food just seems rank to me. Am, though, much more into fish than normal. i realised this morning I have eaten fish nearly every day since I got my BFP!

oh lordy I have had to put a hairband through my jeans too to let my massively bloated tummy out! I'll be in maternity in a couple of weeks at this rate - i even have a 'bump' there when I get up now Blush

arf, I am not a pram person at all but I do love slings. Proper wraps and ring slings and mei tais :) Got DS a pushchair at 6m so I could go to 'pramfit' club but other than that he slinged it until he was 18 months! I am not a hippy though, am mostly normal but loved the closeness and it was much easier to get around I found... :)

For those of you worried about money and what to buy, don't fret! we got DS stuff from ebay and family and reusable nappies and didn't spend hardly anything. the only thing that will get in the way of budgeting is pregnancy hormones that will make you want everything new and special and buy just anything you see that you remotely think your darling foetus will want. honestly, it drives us all crazy. And stay away from 'lists' of stuff shops give you. grrr, full of nonsense Wink

Igglepiggleiggleonk · 22/03/2012 13:51

Hi Ladies, can I join you? DC 2 is due 14th Nov. Very excited!! Going to sit and read all your old posts with a cup of tea & a choccie biscuit!

x

FoofFighter · 22/03/2012 14:01

Hello Igglepiggle, you keeping well?

I'm just watching Heston Blumnethal and wondering if he is actually a pregnant woman underneath it all? Mashed potato served with cubes of lime jelly?? Potato donuts with potato jam???

TheDetective · 22/03/2012 14:07

Our bodies are very clever - all this increased smelling business, and only wanting certain foods!

Our primitive side coming out - protecting our baby from the evils of disgustingly smelly foods, and pets that pong!

Stuntnun · 22/03/2012 14:08

Fantastic news thereistheball. It's much easier second time round and you'll have a 4yo to run and get stuff for you when you can't be bothered to get up yourself!

LittleLolly · 22/03/2012 14:09

thereistheball how exciting! Congratulations!

detective I'm on first of 4 nights tonight :( not looking forward to it.

Been to my GP today and got some metoclopramide for the nausea... Phew.

Stuntnun · 22/03/2012 14:13

My two cents on slings is to get one that goes over both shoulders. I had a baby carrier with DS1 that I could pop him in and do the vacuuming quite happily. With DS2 I had a sling that went over one shoulder and it was a bit of a strain on my back when he got bigger. Also with a homemade sling you need to be careful they don't get too hot or wiggle into an awkward position. They are great for keeping your baby content because they're close to you and they like to keep moving.

FoofFighter · 22/03/2012 14:23

I've put a picture on my profile if anyone's interested in having a skwiz :)

FatimaLovesBread · 22/03/2012 15:06

Afternoon all

izzy So happy for you

thereistheball We had IVF too but only one blastocyst transferred so this pregnancy should definately be a singleton.

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow and i'm only 5 weeks!! Will then have another booking in appointment around 8 weeks, at home, where they'll take blood etc.

I also have an early scan on Good Friday.

Due to the IVF i've had a bit of OHSS and bloating so i've had to buy some maternity pants already that I wore yesterday. I've been wearing my hockey joggers a lot too. I think i'll be showing early Grin

My boobs are v tender. Most of my bras are a dd, this one's an E and i'm starting to bulge out of that. Going to have to go bra shopping. They're so heavy and solid

funthatisfunny · 22/03/2012 15:36

oooh congrats there, how lovely! and hello iggle!

glad you have got sorted lolly - poor you being told to get over it :( Some people just don't get it.

I have just made some white bread with oats in my bread maker - the oats and homemadeness should make me feel less guilty. Am making some daal for DS's tea (he eats so badly at the mo now am off all food and too tired/unenthusiastic to cook. Is sad) and I normally LOVE it but... bleugh. I look at it, this lovely, tasty nutritious food, and think UG how does anyone eat this stuff?!

I'll force myself to eat some just so I can get to the cup of tea and minature heroes and feel like I at least tried :)

funthatisfunny · 22/03/2012 15:38

detective - why is it so many of us just want to eat rubbish when we should be eating lots of leafy greens?! it doesn't make sense to me! I just cannot face anything healthy :( and not because I feel sick because i don't, I just cannot bear it. It is like being told to eat worms! Take it AWAY! :)

NervousAt20 · 22/03/2012 16:04

It's just alot stronger and all the time, probly sound like I just moaning but it's a blummin nightmare :(

FoofFighter · 22/03/2012 16:20

If you can't moan here and be understood where can you? {{hugs}}

horseylady · 22/03/2012 16:25

My stomach is so loud!! Not used to this or feeling hungry so often?! I can't physically eat any more!!

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 22/03/2012 16:31

This thread is moving too fast!

Still no sickness, here but only 5 weeks, so could be still to come.

It's exciting looking at baby stuff, isn't it?? detective, I don't want to rain on your parade, but I've had a couple of friends who had a quinny buzz and they found it a bitch to push. I've tried it myself and it is not good. I've resigned myself to having a horrible heavy pushchair, since I need a double!

I don't really feel like eating at all, which is most out of character. Except, weirdly, rye crackers and cheese. Which is kind of healthy I guess!

Agree that slings rock. My dd was colicky and I honestly don't think I would have got through the first weeks without my moby. Looking forward to using it again!

TheDetective · 22/03/2012 16:38

Hell, moan away nervous that's what I do best! And you have my sympathy - it is HORRIBLE. In capitals. The drugs are great though! Although they don't keep the nausea away, just stop the actual puking.

LittleLolly That is what I would have been doing tonight - start of 4, and then exactly the same next week - thus-sun. I can't face it, not the way I am so up and down right now. I really don't know when I will feel good and when I won't - it changes frequently!!

Fun No idea, but don't worry - it is all for a reason. A reason that maybe I should know. But don't. Goes to google

I am stalking some baby items on eBay today. I am getting clicky... DP's payday tomorrow... mwhahaha!!

I'm feeling a little brighter this afternoon thanks to the sunshine. I made it to Asda sans vom incidence, and got some spuds. Poor DP is going to lurrrrrrve his tea. Grin
