Wow Detective 11 prams!!

I nearly puked earlier because of the scant of the dishwasher tablet, managed to hold it together

We think we may have to tell both sets of parents soon, rather than wait until 12 week scan, as dh's parents are thinking about going away on holiday around the time of my edd! I don't think they would forgive us if we don't tell them our news before they book a holiday. So all being well at my scan on Monday, then we will share our news.

I love pram shopping, although I have resisted so far, I will be reading with interest to all of the choices others have made Grin

I will watch OBEM in bed, but have set tv to record as I will most definitely fall asleep. That reminds me I must also record The Apprentice for dh, as he is out tonight.

tallulahstar · 21/03/2012 20:56

Hello all, i have been lurking on the site for awhile and thought i should finally join. Everyone sounds so lovely and it would be great to share the excitement because at the moment I only have my DH to share it with and I am struggling to contain the excitement. Could i be added to the list (on phone so cant do it myself)

Tallulahstar (31) DC1 EDD 28/11/12

Am so excited and nervous, cant wait for what the next few months bring!

Little9 · 21/03/2012 21:03

So glad to hear good news izzy. Fingers, toes, eyes and everything else crossed for you. And for all of us!

Had majorly dodgy stomach/bowels first thing this morning, and am now losing my voice due to too much coughing; but am ok apart from that!!! Discharge back to normal which is a good thing.

Only one more day before DH comes back from a week away at work. Have really missed him this week. Think it must be the hormones cos I normally enjoy the peace and quiet and control of the telly!

DH will be getting redundancy money in the next few months, so will be buying a 7 seater car to accommodate doglets and (hopefully) new baby! Not sure other than that how we'll be money wise cos DH now has to find another job and I'm being outsourced (will hopefully still have a job though). I earn more than DH at the mo so he may be a house husband at this rate. At least I wouldn't have to learn to cook Blush.

blonderthanred · 21/03/2012 21:21

Izzy, that's wonderful news. So glad for you.

horseylady · 21/03/2012 21:45

Detective- try dealing with a 16 week old puppy with some sort of mouth infection who will only eat scrambled eggs or be hand fed biscuits or sardines! She stinks!! Along with mil issue the prospect of a huge vet bill actually had me in floods of tears yesterday!! Still very sick, very stressed and full of mixed emotions :(

TheDetective · 21/03/2012 21:58

I think I'd die Horsey. Seriously. Die from drowning in my own vomit.

Yak.

You are a braver woman than I!

WestWingCJ · 21/03/2012 22:01

Wow - wish my midwife had been like that one on OBEM - mine was savagely cruel.

horseylady · 21/03/2012 22:18

It's horrid but what can you do? 200 a night in the vets!!! I actually argued with them yesterday about how a human would be treated compared with the over the top treatment they had lined up for her!! God help my child!!

WestWingCJ · 21/03/2012 22:28

I feel your pain horseylady My doggy hasn't been well and they charged me a fortune just to tell me he's ok but a bit ill. Yep, I knew that. They put him on canned dog food (the stench!). DH had to feed him outside for a few days. Wish puppy better soon.

EssexWelsh · 21/03/2012 22:38

Just spent 40 mins catching up on just today's messages, much love to chickenspots and booboo and great news to izzy.

Can I just ask on what day did people start feeling sick, as I'm 5 weeks today and feel great, in fact more energy than normal and as much as this is a good thing, almost need the sickness to start to reassure me! We're never happy eh, I'll change my tune if and when it starts! X

TheDetective · 21/03/2012 23:17

Previous pregnancy 5+6, the vomiting just hit - no nausea before hand. Progressed swiftly to hyperemesis.

This time, nausea on and off more off than on! from 4+3, but nausea got worse around 6 weeks, with vomiting starting at 6+5.

I felt great to start off.... not to put a downer on it lol! I felt amazing infact, the odd bit of nausea was nothing - staved off by a bacon butty or something...

Now. Errrr. Bring back week 5 is all I can say!! Ha!

FoofFighter · 21/03/2012 23:36

am 6+6weeks and no morning sickness as yet.

misschord · 22/03/2012 00:12

Whoops, haven't been back here since my first post and realise I haven't added my stats. So, here is to rectify the situation. Congratulations everybody! x

good luck ladies and congrates to us all . :)

DesperateHousewife21 · 22/03/2012 07:49

Welcome madasahatter I think you're the furthest along out of all of us! Did you pay for a private scan next week?

I've got cramps again this morning, they seem to be worse in the morning then tail off towards the end of the day. Doesn't help that ds kicks me in the tummy in bed alot it does my head in!

madasahattermummy · 22/03/2012 07:54

hi there ,

yes i did , had a MMC before, but this time the midwife wouldnt scan me early , i couldnt wait till 12 /13 weeks so iv paid for a private scan £80 worth every penny for at least one days peace of mind , breaks the long weeks up a bit too.

i carnt stop poking my boobs just to make sure they hurt :S strange i know .

blonderthanred · 22/03/2012 07:59

Madasahatter, I am a compulsive breast-prodder too! Keep thinking, hmm do they hurt less than yesterday?

jaylee89 · 22/03/2012 08:02

morning ladies. im 6+5 today and have been holding off ringing my midwife! partly because im scared. i seen my gp when i was 5 weeks to request folic acid and they prescribed me that straight away. when should i ring i rang when i was 8 weeks with DD. so i will probably wait till then this time also.

as for me talking to DH about birth! he seems to think its going to be a stroll in the park and he will just be sitting there doing nothing!!!! he laughed last night at OBEM when the women were screaming i looked at him in complete anger! i said to hm " you laugh at me when im in labour and ill ram the gas and air tube somewhere where you will scream sunshine" he kinda looked quite scared then! bloody men ay??

hope everyone is well xx

CandyPop · 22/03/2012 08:52

Morning all! Not much to report really. Cramps during the day have subsided but now and again I still get stints of very bad cramping (lasting no longer than a few minutes). When it happens I get the urge to go for a no. 2 (sorry tmi) and that normally eases the pain. Anyone else have this?!?! I read that constipation is a symptom but I seem to have the opposite!

When I went for my scan on Monday, I was told I had a retroverted uterus ( tilts to the back rather than forward ). Apparently it's quite common and nothing to worry about, but wondering maybe that's why Im having these cramps ?!?!

Wish I can have a scan every few days!!! Just wish next Friday will come quick so I can have ease of mind that bubba is growing. I'm 5+4 today but will be 6+5 when I have the scan . Hoping we will be able detect a heartbeat but then again doctor reckons I might have conceived a week later in my cycle than I thought so maybe next week will be too soon to see a heartbeat Confused .... As long as its grown then spotting Heatbeat would be a bonus.

Also although obviously I am obsessed with this already and talk on mn and with dh all the time.... Don't think it's really sunk in!!!

Oh and random fact, this is the year of the dragon according to the Chinese astrology. We are all having dragon children which is highly regarded ... I don't why but it is... Hmmm might google it!

Ah what a long post for someone who has nothing to report !!

Iheartpasties · 22/03/2012 08:54

phew, it's the evening here (down under) and I am feeling so sick! I find my MS worse in teh evening. My DH is out tonight but he has the day off tomorrow, so I have just been telling myself to get through the day and then it's a day to relax tomorrow while dh looks after dd!

Hope everyone else is doing ok :)

horseylady · 22/03/2012 09:05

I'm worse at night! Feel great in the morning!! I started feeling sick really last week so at 6 weeks. Ive not been sick yet just very close!!

applepieinthesky · 22/03/2012 09:25

This morning is the first day I have felt like total crap.

The cramps have now subsided but got out of bed this morning and went all dizzy. Really felt like I was going to be sick but nothing came up.

Went to Next yesterday and couldn?t help looking at the nursery things. I have it all planned out already!

Cacacaz · 22/03/2012 09:25

Candypop I spent all last week being constipated, this morning I have already been to the loo 3 times Blush although that said I prefer this to constipation.

Horseylady I fell worse in the morning, perk up around midday/early afternoon then deteriorate late evening, although like you I haven't actually been sick yet. I'm feeling okay at the moment, sent dh to tesco last might for orange lucozade. He bought no less than 20 bottles!

madasahattermummy · 22/03/2012 09:26

blonderthanred im glad im not the only boob poker :) im just like that do thye hurt more or less than yesterday ??

i feel sick and tired all day , the only time i dont is when im eating :S strange , so im eating ALL the time! wave good by to my size 10 hips allready :( coke a cola is about the only thing i can drink with feeling like i want to bring it back , had to hunt hight and low for the decaff sort !

Bimbledorf · 22/03/2012 09:27

hello everyone Smile

Izzy, that is so great, wow what a rollercoaster for you!

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and so far vaguely nauseous but it can be staved off if I eat. It does mean though that I graze all day long and I already look 5 months pregnant! Really annoying as I joined the gym last year and was getting my body back (sort of)! I suffered excrutiating SPD last pregnancy and am beginning to experience it already which is SO annoying and will mean that I will not even be able to exercise properly much longer. grr

Wow what a whinger, sorry.

I've been researching prams - I know it's only been 5 years since I've had a baby - but they have definitely come on! I love the one that is simply a car chair on a buggy frame - no massive pram to contend with. And yes, it will defintiely be 3 wheels. I have a crazy boxer who is terrible with other dogs so we have to cross fields with him - need an off roader.

Saying that, slings seem to be the thing these days - anyone getting one of them - have any advice on which ones are best?

There is still potentially 36 weeks to go Shock so I don't know why I am even bothered at this stage!

Happy day all of you
