Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Ooh - no MrsD still this morning - hope you've not gone to work!!

Hugs for poorly Flame with dodgy curry! Enjoy the meetup this afternoon.

Well, news here is that I've had a sweep this morning. I was 1cm dilated already, and m/w reckoned that this meant that I wouldn't end up going to term+12 and being induced, so there's hope of having Pippa in the next week . She warned me to expect a show following the sweep - had a bit of blood just now, but no mucousy blobs yet!! BP was up a little, but not to a level that overly concerns her - just said to give her a ring if I get headaches or anything like that.

Right - must go and investigate getting a new mobile phone now - had mine for 2 years and never really liked it, and figure if I don't organise a new one now then I'm not going to get chance for a while!

Hope everyone's having a good day.

MrsDoolittle · 03/02/2006 13:22

Morning errr afternoon Ladies!
Still here, unfortunately. Helen, hotmama, Chloe I relate to all your stories. I can't remember being this uncomfortable at the end of my last pregnancy. Dd engaged at 37 weeks and I felt great, although impatient. This one is a mare!!!
Had another show last night. However, I slept brilliantly, better than I have in weeks and weeks. So well, in fact, that when I finally got up to go to the toilet I could hardly move, my bladder was so full my tummy was completely rigid and I couldn't walk!!
I finally raised myself out of bed (I went back to bed after getting dd up to go to nursery) at 11.30, had a bath and felt loads better. But that was two hours ago and that wretched deep, can't bend aching uterine pain is back again!

Sorry your not well Flame. I had korma last night too. I've just eaten a double decker now, hoping I'm going to need the energy shortly.

Is it true that we sleep better before giving birth as your body is getting ready for labour? Hope so...

hotmama · 03/02/2006 13:25

Welcome back Mrsd - this waiting is a mare isn't it?

Chloe55 · 03/02/2006 13:36

I hope not MrsD coz I am sleeping crap!! Hmmmmm Double Decker - might have to trot off to the shop shortly

JuA · 03/02/2006 15:03

Hello all
Just a quick note to say we are all back home!
After a few days of not really feeding much my 2 babies have turned into monster munchers and I seem to have one or other of them attached to me permantently - haven't mastered both together yet!
Hope to see some more announcements soon.
Don't think I will get much chance for posting for a while - so lots of luck everyone

Ju

Chloe55 · 03/02/2006 15:20

I love hearing from the new mums, just makes me realise how close the rest of us are. Oh, BTW, if I gradually go into labour I will try and post to let you know. If it all happens fairly quickly or through the night then I won't get chance to post and DH thinks I'm a geek coming on here anyway and has already told me not to ask him to post on my behalf - the big old meanie . So, I will try and get a text out to one of you whose number I have. Just thought I'd let you all know that just in case

Flamesparrow · 03/02/2006 15:56

Lol - DH is online just as much as me, and he knows that even if I am being rushed to hospital, I'll be muttering about leaving a post first . I was planning on texting either Chloe or Frizbe with news when I have some so that DH doesn't have to try and figure out posting if I can't do it myself.

Feeling much better now, though just tired. Took DD to the meetup, and she disappeared and played much better than normal (a few tears for various injuries, and once when she lost me), but generally good time had by all. Now curled up on sofa, but refusing to sleep again now she's out of the car.

Yay to Jua being home

I don't remember my sleeping getting any better before labour last time, so there's a bit of hope for you Chloe .

BHs are getting very strong, but I can't see this child co-operating with an appearance any time soon. Wish family would stop saying to me "you want it in a bit longer yet" No I don't, if I did, then I wouldn't be saying that I want it out!

Chloe55 · 03/02/2006 16:06

I know what you mean Flame, feel like turning round and saying yeah he may not be due for another week but do you actually remember the last few weeks and if the answer is yes then I suggest you shut your gob! Do feel a bit guilty moaning about it though, particularly when a few of us are actually overdue Saying that, if I'm overdue then I will still moan and join in still with the rest of you.

Glad you're feeling better Flame - you are more than welcome to text me - day or night.

3k · 03/02/2006 17:17

Hello,

No updates from me either, baby was due yesterday and I had a few period type pains which I thought could be the start then all settled down during the night. Going to do some cleaning/hoovering now and see if that makes any difference and will try and do a long walk with dogs once DH gets home - tried last night but it was toooooooo cold!!

Tabs - hope your sweep does the job, I'm seeing consultant on Monday so may see if he will do one then although my MW and doctor said they dont like to do them much anymore!!!! I WANT ONE!!!!!!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/02/2006 17:31

3k good luck for this weekend then, hope things start up soon, same for you Tabs, Good luck, you never know we may have some Sat am babies out of you all yet!!
Mrs D, you sound like your in slow early lab to me, but then what do I know eh!!

Flame your welcome to txt me at any time! glad you enjoyed the meet up

JuA lovely to hear from you, although must be a pain stuck to the sofa feeding two, I guess that's what we're made for!

Righty will check on you all later, not a sign of anything here, no pains or nothing....betcha we'll be late again......anyway 37 weeks on Sun, so off to buy my shower curtains for homebirth tomorrow!! ok must dash, can smell dinner, yikes!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 03/02/2006 19:36

Hey has anyone else on the Feb thread booked to see the Wiggles then?? I'm taking dd for a treat in July! thought it might be some quality time for us both!

MrsDoolittle · 03/02/2006 19:38

I don't know what I'm in to be very honest. It does feel different though, much deeper of that makes sense. Theres an ache in my back starting that hasn't been there before and sometimes the baby moves and it hurts so badly it takes my breath away.

I hope things are going well for you Jua, although I appreciate you must be busy now.

Don't you just wish you knew exactly when it was coming?
Goodluck to all you ladies - keep posting to let us know how your going.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 03/02/2006 20:57

Yup, very much wishing I knew exactly when it was coming! My friend is having a swimming party for her children on 11th (not entirely sure if I'm invited, but am assuming I would be... hurt and offended if not!!!), and I like the idea of that, but have no idea if I'll be bumped still and able to swim, or not!!!

Just felt hiccups, so am sure the baby is still head down (still my biggest fear ). Oodles of BH, and very uncomfortable, but I don't honestly see anything happening for a few days at least - even with lots of backache. Bought some pineapple for tonight (scared of curry now!!!!).

Mum is having DD tomorrow night, so birthpool test run is happening then, and then we are going out to lunch with DH's friends, so lose DD for a bit on Sunday too .

Tabs · 03/02/2006 22:42

No further news here. Off to bed now. Will post again in the morning. Likely to post during labour anyway unless it all happens incredibly quickly! Mrs D - definitely wish I knew - even if it was a week away, at least I could stop spending every moment wondering if it's about to happen!

Frizbe - the Wiggles?! Presume this is some children's TV programme that I am going to become acquainted with in the future?

Labour vibes going out to hotmama, cuffy and 3k especially, as other members of the overdue club. Though I notice that cuffy hasn't been on today, so maybe there's already some news?

cuffyj1 · 03/02/2006 22:44

No tabs i'm still here with no news yet.

Jasnem · 03/02/2006 22:52

Hi,
The Wiggles are four wierd Australian men who sing some very odd songs. Luckily for me, my kids don't like them, so I won't be going!

I'm trying to plan some kind of entertainment for my DDs during 1/2 term, without knowing if I'll have had the baby or not. I wish I had a clue when this one was coming, but am assuming I'll still be pregnant and not into taking them on big trips out.
I suspect the video might get alot of use!

Had a very stressful day worrying about problems resulting from a car accident DP had 9 months ago, resulting in a still unresolved insurance claim. Usually I deal with all admin/paperwork in our house (he had to bring cheques into hospital for me to pay the bills when DD2 was born, as he'd never done it)
I was in such a state, he came over all manly, and took the phone and sorted it (I think)

Off to bed, and hoping for a lie in tomorrow, as he let the kids stat up 'til 10 last night when I was out, so they are very tired!

Tabs · 04/02/2006 09:56

Still no news here . Anyone else?

Flamesparrow · 04/02/2006 10:16

Ok, all you overdue women - how have you not spent the past 3 weeks whinging at us???

I'm as stable and well balanced as ever... just burst into tears because someone on another site who was due the same day as me has had her baby

I'm tired of being lumpy. I'm tired of being bitter. I'm tired of being tired. I'm tired of every fckin person I speak to having an opinion on when MY* baby should be born. Giving me dates 2,3, even 4 weeks away is not helpful, amusing, or even a good conversation, it just gets me worked up and more unhappy.

Hope everyone else is in a much more positive mood.

Oh, and no no no no no to Wiggles!!! They are the work of Satan (quite possibly related to Barney )...

Flamesparrow · 04/02/2006 10:17

Oh, one piece of progress news for me... a very likely name for a boy now is Emrys John.

Flamesparrow · 04/02/2006 10:20

Don't feel the need to comment on the name... I'm sharing rather than wanting opinions

Chloe55 · 04/02/2006 11:14

I think baby has decided to stop messing me about now - had NO Braxton Hicks last night which is a first in weeks and I only had to get up once through the night which is a first in months!!! So I guess I can stop thinking is this it? And just get used to the fact that he will quite possibly take me over my due date. Will let you know of any other changes.

Hope to see some birth news from all of those overdue this weekend

cuffyj1 · 04/02/2006 11:15

Morning, still no movement here.

I've sick of heartburn but the thing thats making it 20 times worse is i've got thru the whole of my pg without having it that much and now i'm overdue it's worse than ever, i can't get rid of it

Just another little moan, we've got a 10 mth old puppy who has been house trained quite a while now but over the past few days he's been weeing in the house 3 or 4 times a day, my mum thinks he might be sensing that something's about to change ie. the baby coming. Wot does anyone else think? I know its not baby related as such but i could kill him

Jasnem · 04/02/2006 11:49

Morning, Nothing happening here, though I did sleep quite well last night, so am taking that as a good sign-trying to be positive today

It's a good name Flame, have you got a girl one yet?
You should have seen my dads face when he saw our shortlist with Angel at the top of it last week! (It won't be an Angel now, boy orgirl)

Cuffy - I'm sure my cat reacted to my first being born _ I'd had a month of maternity leave, mostly spent lying down with him on my belly, and then I left him, and brought home a crying baby. he sulked and took to scratching me (but only ever me) at every opportunity. Don't really know what you can do about it though...

ixel · 04/02/2006 11:56

If only I could sleep without getting up for a wee... ds went to bed 6.30 last night and, apart from a glitch at 6am, only came into our room at 9.45am!! I, however, am getting up every half hour...

Took dh on a traipse round the shops yesterday... he did the buggy pushing, and all the carrying of shopping, and I was still knackered. As we were talking on the bus home, I said I had backache, and some stupid old woman opposite us said 'well, its your own fault, you shouldn't be out when you're that big'. Thanks. Very helpful!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 04/02/2006 12:10

Ixel, grr at silly old woman, does she think life just stops eh!

FS: Good luck with your pool test run tonight! and ah yes re the wiggles, but dd adores, so we're going!! Yes Tabs, there is a strong possiblilty you will get to know this programme very soon! (I blame dh he started her watching it)

To all you overdue ladies, I totally agree with Flame, your doing very well not to moan at us all, when I go over I shall be whinging like a trooper! Good luck for this weekend, lets hope some of you have either popped last night, or will pop very soon.

Jas, hope the claim is now sorted, horrible when these things drag on.

Gona pop out after lunch and do the shopping, including my homebirth shower curtains!!
