Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

OP posts:

Helen38 · 17/02/2006 12:49

Well flame, you can have yours today, but can it be my turn tomorrow please?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 17/02/2006 13:24

Oh its soooo rubbish us being last on the list isn't it still sure we'll all have happy healthy bubbas soon......

Ixel, so pants for you having to have another c-section, I'm really sending you lots of vibes to get this baby of yours out over the weekend

Helen, it sounds like you have a plan there! can I have mine this weekend too?

Jas, will they decided to section you too do you think?? I'm hoping you kick off this weekend too, in fact I hope we all have one big push!

Happy with any of the thread titles myself, although have horrible feeling I might still be here in March, pah! even the march girls are getting section dates now....sob.....I'm so gona be last.....

Righty enuff mopeing here anyway, gona take dd to park, before it decides to rain again!

Tabs · 17/02/2006 13:34

lol at deciding to section Jas . The men in white coats will be along shortly with your straightjacket.

Helen38 · 17/02/2006 13:47

That one really hurt, why can't they just get regular and get on with it???????

Helen38 · 17/02/2006 13:50

So, here's a plan...... we could all go into labour tonight/over the weekend and not need a new thread cos we can join the post-natal one

Agreed?

If only it was that simple

Jasnem · 17/02/2006 14:51

If I haven't had this baby by next week, I will be sectionable, Tabs!

I like the plan to all have them over the weekend, myself. If only.

Helen38 · 17/02/2006 15:20

Have just read 4 dr seuss books in a row, having a break for a drink, dry throat! they are hard work then back for a couple more.

Have spoken to a friend whe mentioned that is teacher training day on monday I didn't realise, how silly would I of felt

At least that gives me an extra day without the comments on lack of baby, although ds1 got a party later so will see people picking up from that.

Have a good weekend if I don't get on again today lots of baby news for me on monday please but not frizbe as you are same day as me so have to wait for me

Jasnem · 17/02/2006 15:53

Found a video of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang , so kids are happy.
I've just scrubbed the concrete path at the back of my house in an attempt to burn off some frustration. Not successful.
Getting really sick of waiting, and I'm not even due 'til tomorrow!

ixel · 17/02/2006 17:04

Jasnem... have you been watching Supernatural too then, or is it just a Buffy fetish?

Flame... its booked as another section because I'll be 11 days over then (could have waited till 14, but told them my birth partner will be on hols, and what difference will 3 days make anyway??!) They wont induce again because it failed 3 times last time, and put ds in distress. I'm glad though, as it was too violent for my liking!! At least I can get my teeth into writing a whole new set of instructions for dh and birth partner over the weekend!
The only other down side is that my Mum assumed if there was a section, she would be needed as of Wednesday for babysitting, but I want her to travel on Tuesday so she'll arrive that evening, and she's stressing about cancelling her doctors and chiropodits appointments now. Well, excuse me for being crap at giving birth!

I really almost thought I'd had a show this morning, but it was just extra gunkiness and wishful thinking !!

ixel · 17/02/2006 17:07

And, Jas... having Chitty Chitty on, even in the background, is enough to make anyone sectionable!!

Jasnem · 17/02/2006 17:31

TBH Ixel the buffy thing is really just so I can watch Spike - I got bored with the rest of it in the last couple of series. I preferred Angel (particulartly later on with Spike as well).I'm trying not to watch anything I'm not already addicted to now, as I know I'll probably miss it all when the baby's born.

Flamesparrow · 17/02/2006 19:32

Jas - are you watching Smallville?

My mum very kindly offered to take me out for the afternoon... get some lunch, take my mind off pains etc (which are much worse, but probably still doing sod all).

All was good, we went for a drive to Burley, had some lunch, wandered round some shops, and then decided to head back to the car.

Mum carried B first down the side of the road (no pavements, just pedestrian markings in a narrow gap), then I followed... The big fire and rescue white van decided to drive past me too close, and whacked my arm with his wing mirror (hard and fast enough for loud bang, mirror to snap back against the van, and to spin me round!).

My mum yelled.... a lot! The man looked sort of concerned (he did at least stop), but managed to use the phrase "It was just the mirror that hit her" arghh Felt like driving at him to get the mirror to bash him and snap back, and then see if "just the mirror" was an issue or not!!!

Bruised and sore arm, but nothing serious, and very shaken up. We were outside a teashop, so they took us in and called a paramedic (they were worrying about my blood pressure etc).

Now back home and back to being frustrated... Pains have been getting more regular again, but I'm not holding out much hope (if a bloody car hitting me can't make me break my waters, nothing can! ). I want a bath to make my arm feel better, but I don't want to slow it all down again.

I like this plan for us all to have babies this weekend - I aim to be having contractions at about 5am tonight/tomorrow morning (bad enough for me to be sure/wake me up, but gentle enough not to have to phone my mum to take DD), so if you could join me about then, that would be very nice - we can all do early labour together.

Now I just need to get the baby to co-operate with that very precise plan!

4blue1pink · 17/02/2006 19:34

Flame that sounds awful - where is burley?

Flamesparrow · 17/02/2006 19:44

Its in the New Forest - stupid little roads with no pavements!

Jasnem · 17/02/2006 19:53

Not even heard of Smallville. Should I be watching it?
Don't know when/whereit's on.

Hope you're ok now Flame, sounds like a shocking experience to me!

I'm suddenly very tired, so am going to get an early night I think(and hopefully be up at five to join the group labour!)

Flamesparrow · 17/02/2006 20:11

Smallville is young Superman - its on E4 on Mondays at 9pm... James Marsters has just come into it though as a bad alien dude. Its all very confusing for my little brain though - he has dark hair, no dodgy British accent, and he keeps walking about in sunlight as if there is no problem (A bit like seeing Angel in Bones wandering about in the daytime without a care in the world...).

Didn't realise he is quite as short as he is though!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 17/02/2006 20:39

Bloody hell Flame what an afternoon, glad you've been checked out and are ok tho, bar the brusing....

Jas, Bugger, I didn't mean that kinda section good idea re the early night, it must be your body telling you something....mine's telling me I have a trapped nerve down my back, thus am sitting on ball, as only place can get comfy.....

Ixel, mums eh!!

Helen like the plan, hope we do all go for it! however I wouldn't worry I'm sure you'll drop before me, at this rate half the march thread will have as well

Well have tried doing the cleaning thing again today, done the car (dd was asleep in it, so seemed a good idea, did path to house, did hall, kitchen floor and living room again before she woke up!! 3 loads of washing thru...just gotta iron it....booo....if that doesn't get me started nothing will!

Thell · 17/02/2006 22:19

Just popping in ... poor you, Flame! What a bugger of a time to get hit by a car!!
Frizbe - it's really nice when someone asks after you - thanks! I've been ok today. Handy man came by and put up shelves, shower rail etc, so I managed to get lots of boxes unpacked and make our place much more homely Was much easier to be motivated to tidy up with someone else in the house working away.
Vigorous hoovering also seemed to have a beneficial side effect - had a little show this evening DH looked scared half to death when I told him!! But I reassured him it could still be weeks before anything happens. My Mum, however, calmly stated earlier that she thinks I'll have her at the beginning of next week. Not based on anything in particualr, but she does tend to be right about these things,...
I like the communal birthing scheme - I'll put my name down for that! But Ixel is definitely first in the queue

PS Scan was fine, as expected. Def a girl Supposedly about 7lb 4oz at the mo.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 17/02/2006 22:57

Hurrah someone has movement thell!!

Jasnem · 18/02/2006 09:15

Where were you all at 5am??????

I was fast asleep, only got up to take gaviscon in the past 12 hours!

No sign of movement here, still. It's my due day today, so I can join Ixel on the overdue list tomorrow

Thell - hope your mum's right. We could do with another birth soon.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 18/02/2006 09:58

Jas, I was either sound asleep or on the loo! had to get up 3 times last night, bladder shot!

Thell any news???

Hope your all ok out there and enjoying your weekends, suppose I best get dd dressed and go do the shopping, argh!

ixel · 18/02/2006 10:08

Jas, you're doing it on purpose because you cant bear to leave me! Uncross your legs... just because I cant give birth, doesnt mean you can copy me!!

Thell · 18/02/2006 10:59

Sorry girls, no movement here as yet!
Woke up feeling a bit uterusy - you know that feeling you might get a few days before a period before the pains kick in? But it has come to nothing!
I've done a bit more vacuuming, and will finally mop the floors - see if that gets me anywhere! DH has a new baroque oboe - very lovely - and is currently trying to entice his daughter out like the pied piper!! It's keeping me entertained at least.
I'm hoping not to resort to asking DH for a more personal contribution to the induction effort A week or so ago I think I stopped being sexy pregnant lady and became his wife carrying his baby - both of us suddenly feel a bit weird about the whole thing.
