Jas - are you watching Smallville?
My mum very kindly offered to take me out for the afternoon... get some lunch, take my mind off pains etc (which are much worse, but probably still doing sod all).
All was good, we went for a drive to Burley, had some lunch, wandered round some shops, and then decided to head back to the car.
Mum carried B first down the side of the road (no pavements, just pedestrian markings in a narrow gap), then I followed... The big fire and rescue white van decided to drive past me too close, and whacked my arm with his wing mirror (hard and fast enough for loud bang, mirror to snap back against the van, and to spin me round!).
My mum yelled.... a lot! The man looked sort of concerned (he did at least stop), but managed to use the phrase "It was just the mirror that hit her" arghh Felt like driving at him to get the mirror to bash him and snap back, and then see if "just the mirror" was an issue or not!!!
Bruised and sore arm, but nothing serious, and very shaken up. We were outside a teashop, so they took us in and called a paramedic (they were worrying about my blood pressure etc).
Now back home and back to being frustrated... Pains have been getting more regular again, but I'm not holding out much hope (if a bloody car hitting me can't make me break my waters, nothing can! ). I want a bath to make my arm feel better, but I don't want to slow it all down again.
I like this plan for us all to have babies this weekend - I aim to be having contractions at about 5am tonight/tomorrow morning (bad enough for me to be sure/wake me up, but gentle enough not to have to phone my mum to take DD), so if you could join me about then, that would be very nice - we can all do early labour together.
Now I just need to get the baby to co-operate with that very precise plan!
