Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

4blue1pink · 01/02/2006 22:22

I have seen your two little girls now! Adorable!

4blue1pink · 01/02/2006 22:22

I think mine looks huge - easy to disguise in black - always shocked when I 'get it out'

Jasnem · 01/02/2006 22:30

Mine was a bit of a shock when I saw the pic, cos usually I'm looking down at it , and it doesnt seem as bad then.

Off to bed now - can't complain about being tired if I'm up on MN all night.
Jas

Frizbetheexpansionset · 01/02/2006 22:35

Yikes, how many posts and then a new thread, phew, hard reading girls!

Flame, your dd is very cunning, kinda expecting mine to try and get chocky for breaky that way good on yours for trying tho!
I woke up to dd dismantling the chest of drawers this am, she managed to take off two door knobs before she woke me bouncing them on the top of the unit.....grrrrr.......and here was I thinking they were tightly fixed
not to mention my horror at the screws left sticking out near her eyes......big telling off from mummy........

Cuffyj and Hotmama, you have my sympathies, re overdue, I was last time, its a B

Helen, after reading the other thread I was going to say you'll probably have dropped by the end of the week, and I'm now even more inclined to say it!

Mrs D, sounds very promising at your end too!

Have a good night ladies, will try and check on you all again tomorrow!

Flamesparrow · 01/02/2006 22:59

Just come on to tell you that I weighed myself, but please don't throw things at me... put on 1st 8lb... Bearing in mind I wanted to lose a stone before I fell pregnant though, I might just call it 2st 8, and then I have an aim iyswim

3k · 01/02/2006 23:05

Hello,

Flame that's great news with your weight!! I have put on about 2.5 stone but not weighed myself for a few weeks. Lets hope we all end up like TicTac and lose it super fast!!!!

Great pic 4blue1pink, it's good to see and compare bumps with other mums.

Well still no news from me, feeling really really tired. Is this normal for due date???? Slept well last night too and slept most of this morning but now feeling like I need to give up and go to bed again - if I go into labour tonight there is no energy to get through it!!

Had 4 phonecalls today, they are starting to pee me off already. Think I may unplug the upstairs phone now in preparation for a lay in tomorrow and will leave answer machine on to pick up others. Its just going to get worse now that my due date is here. If we had news we would tell people wouldnt we so why dont they all bugger off till we tell them!

Right, that's me done - off to bed now. Hope to hear from MrsDoolittle and Helen with baby news tomorrow and maybe to post some good news myself!!!! (Wishful thinking I think)

TicTac · 02/02/2006 03:11

Nice thread! don't hate me ladies... I could challenge an elephant for size.. .it's only the preg stuff I have lost

good luck Helen... I had given birth within 24 hrs of my big show (had diddy one a wk earlier)

I so want another baby!!! Thats despite the fact it is 3am and I am up

Tabs · 02/02/2006 08:28

Happy EDD 3K! Surprised you made it this far, and hoping that things kick off for at least one of us today! Hoping that the tiredness thing is normal, as I'm feeling it too. Not helped by not getting a lot of sleep at night of course, but if I do any sort of activity then I'm knackered afterwards and needing a doze.

Anyone notice that we didn't hear from hotmama yesterday afternoon/evening? Would she have posted if she'd gone into labour?
Any more news from Helen or MrsD? And what about cuffy?
Exciting now isn't it wondering what might happen to who next?!

Jasnem - can't believe that you've told us that you know the flavour but won't tell us what it is! I thought we were your friends .

Flame - sounds like you were in a good mood last night. Hope your evening was as much fun as you were planning.

4b1p - great to have another face to put with a name! Can't believe now that this is your 5th - you don't look at all old and haggard .

Jasnem - that is a pretty impressive bump, especially when the rest of you still looks so tiny!

TicTac - hope you're not trying for number 2 already you broody little thing!!

hotmama · 02/02/2006 09:22

Morning girls - I'm still here

Didn't post after my hosp appt as I felt absolutely gutted.

I was hoping that I could have a sweep to get things moving, but apparently my cervix isn't 'ripe' and still is posterior - the consultant could get her finger tip in (which is normal if you already have had a baby - so I wasn't dilated at all) but not enough to do a sweep - seems I was further along at my overdue appt when I had dd1 - and she was 9 days late.

The consultant was really nice and could see I was nearly crying - got a hug from dp!

So I have got an induction booked for the next Thursday so hopefully things will get moving before then - [big crossed fingers icon]

Hope everyone is O.K. and I hope to be enjoying some birth stories soon.

hotmama · 02/02/2006 09:23

Tabs - I will be posting if I go into labour!

Dd1 doesn't go to nursery on Thurs and Fri - so hopefully crawling on the floor will get things moving.

TicTac · 02/02/2006 09:24

Tabs - 1 word....stiches

Hotmama - good luck for getting yourself going! get your dp to help you along

Helen38 · 02/02/2006 09:25

Morning,
Still here, everything died down a bit over night, still feeling crampy and have back ache which is new not had that atall before but nothing regular, was pottering along nicely about every half an hour last night. Just dreading another 4 wks of stopping and starting like this

Have had half a pineapple and some rl tea already this morning, as I would rather it just came than kept pretending If it all just stopped and I could feel normalish for a couple of weeks that would be ok too, it's the on and off am I ? aren't I? I can cope with, does that make sense?????

Flame I quite like the tea too, sounds like we have the same sort.
Hope those who are further on than me and have more right to want it out get going soon, Mrs D any sign????

Flamesparrow · 02/02/2006 09:42

I've just realised that I am allowed to go into labour as of today, not tomorrow, as they have my due dates as 23rd, not 24th . I know its only one day, and its not going to happen, but I can stop having that worry that if it did happen, I'd get sent to the hospital I don't want to be at.

My night last night was good - made even better because I managed to make Marslady happy by promising to post CSI on to her.

Feel completely normal today, just the basic tired, which I think is to be expected. Looking round and all confused by the lack of washing/dishes to do!!

Shops later, but nothing else planned.

HM - if it makes you feel any better, my cervix was doing absolutely nothing last time round - I'd been having regular contractions for hours, and they couldn't even find my cervix when they tried because it was so far back ... they looked 2 hours later and I was 4cm - it can all happen really fast, so just because it wasn't co-operating yesterday, it could be all enthusiastic later today and a baby just fall out .

I too will be posting when I am definately in labour (even if HB changes and I have to head to hospital).

Helen - makes complete sense. The on/off must be driving you crazy

Hope MrsD has some news for us....

hotmama · 02/02/2006 09:57

Thanks Flame - that is just the thing I want to hear.

After all the period type pains I have been having, I just couldn't believe that nothing physical had happened.

Hopefully, things will happen over the weekend - anytime after Friday evening is good - as my mum can look after dd1.

Chloe55 · 02/02/2006 10:13

Sorry to hear your midwife appt didn't go as planned Hotmama, but I hope Flame's post is encouraging to you

I'm with you on the either come out or stop messing about feelings Helen! Had more strong BH last night, had the worst night's kip and now can barely stand to even get a drink coz tummy is bloody killing.

DH was asking all sorts of questions last night about labour stages and what I think I might need him doing in each stage - was quite nice to talk about it a bit so we could both air our worries. I still think he thinks I will be a wimp about the whole thing but have explained again that under no circumstances can he make me feel inadequate - he wouldn't but I just hope I don't catch that 'look' IYSWIM. I think he will be great but I am so stubborn and don't take any neg critism well.

Tictac - lovely to hear that you and family are still so content, even after over a week of no sleep, and you want another?

Helen38 · 02/02/2006 10:19

Yay! my tens machine is here!!

I can have this baby now

Wasn't expecting it till next week and that was my biggest concern about going into labour now ...... Bring it on

Chloe55 · 02/02/2006 10:27

Have you tried it/used one before. I borrowed one of MIL and she put it on to show me how to use it - very weird sensations. I will give it a go but not sure how it will work as it felt a bit annoying. I guess I won't know until I NEED it to work though

Helen38 · 02/02/2006 10:33

Yes used one for ds1, I thought was great, you really not aware of the odd feeling when it comes to it.
I am a wimp generaly and went through an induced labour with just a tens machine, in my book that says it must of helped

The thought of doing it without one was scarey as I know I can do it with one IYSWIM?

If nothing else it gives you something to think about.

Chloe55 · 02/02/2006 11:08

Forgot to say Flame - I like the RL tea too but like you I like herbal teas anyway.

Jasnem · 02/02/2006 11:48

Morning,
Labour wishes to everyone getting twinges, due, or overdue.
Hope thing get moving soon for you all.Tabs - i've told DP, but i'm not telling anyone else that I know, even, so you are priveliged, really. We also have a name, now (I think).

hotmama · 02/02/2006 12:10

I had a TENs machine with dd1 - and have got one waiting to be used for dd2!

I personally think it helped, even if I just thought it did - and it does give you something to concentrate on. I really used the booster button when the contractions started coming thick and fast. I got panicky at one point when I couldn't press the booster button - dp informed me I had it on permanently for the last hour - I then started using other pain relief.

One thing that was good about my hosp appt is that dd2 is now fixed and is at 4/5 - she's been 'free' for ages - so I am taking this as a good sign.

Also, although I couldn't have a sweep, the consultant did have a good 'rummage' and so was some bleeding but she said this was O.K. I was still bleeding last night even after having a bath. This morning, I have had more mucusy bloody discharge - so I'm thinking that perhaps things are getting moving - or it is just the remains of the 'rummaging'? What do you think?

Had some more periody type pains, and have danced like a loon with dd1 to nursery rhymes and Cbeebies this morning (carrying a 2 stone child and jumping has got to get things moving don't you think?)

Helen38 · 02/02/2006 12:35

Sounds promising hotmama, more so than me today, am just having twinges, but i think i may be nesting most unlike me, I 've washed everything in sight and dried things and put them away! Also dusted and cleaned kitchen. I keep looking at the stairs thinking they need a hoover but it's upstairs and carrying it down prob not the best idea.

teuch · 02/02/2006 13:41

hi all - just keeping an eye to see who is still here! Big congrats to TicTac (sorr Tabs...got it right this time!), Womba, JuA, Ellenrose and YeahBut!

Everyone else - sending you labour vibes as we speak.

Just to chuck in my tuppenceworth on the 'weighty' issue - I am half a stone ligher than at conception! Still have a lot to lose tho... .

Can someone tell me (or CAT me) the sign in details for yahoo as I can't get on?
