Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Suddenly got mental image of a turkey baster ... Flame, how are you today??!!
I bet you're off labouring somewhere in secret, you cheeky chick

Flamesparrow · 18/02/2006 11:51

Some git came in in the night and nicked my contractions! I was awake most of the night with tightening every 10 mins or so... kept dozing off, waking, having a few more. Woke up with DD this morning, they'd gone! Bloody rude if you ask me.

Feeling much more normal again today.

DH wanted to know why I was laughing... he then wanted to know why images of a turkey baster made people think of me... he is now a bit concerned about my posts .

I am getting close to the husband assisted method - just can't work out any way to make it work... on back, I don't think we'll get the angle what with the bump in the way - on top my muscles won't cope with.. I'm worn out enough just climbing the stairs, let alone anything more energetic, and sideways I've never been very good at non-lumpy, let alone with giant bump. Does anyone have recommendations??? (I don't think I'll tell him the contents of this post ).

Off to Tesco later for 10000 pineapples, and I think I might even give in and try the milk of magnesia (you can tell I'm getting desperate!!!).

Hope everyone else is having a good painful day

Jasnem · 18/02/2006 12:10

Flame, if you can't do sideways, you could try it with you reclining on the end of the bed, feet on the floor, and DH on his knees on the floor in front of you IYSWIM.Depends on the height of bed and husband if this works or not!

Turkey baster had crossed my mind as an easier option though...

Going to go and pull all the dead plants up from the garden now. Really should get the kids dressed....

After a whole bloody week of Scooby Doo, they have finally made my day by uttering the classic

"I see you brought a few friends, and a dog..."
"Dog??? Where???"

I know... I need a life

Flamesparrow · 18/02/2006 15:08

Ok, so where is everyone?? Are you all off having babies without me???? Hmmmm?????????

Been to Tesco and bought pineapple. Hoped the walking/bag carrying/driving etc might have some effect, but apparantly not!

Don't leave me here all alone!!!

Jasnem · 18/02/2006 15:23

I'm still here...getting quietly tearful at the total tack of movement
Trying to be optomistic, but really just want it over, now
Sorry, Ixel as I know you've waited a week longer already.

Flamesparrow · 18/02/2006 15:43

Yup - I feel horrible for being so whingy when I know that most of you have so much more right to it than me

Mine is my own stupid fault - I somehow managed to get my hopes up for a pre-term baby with the theory that I'd been so late last time that I deserved it this time to balance out life fairness. I think that coincides with my nice logical decision on Thursday night that I wasn't going to go to bed, because if I didn't go to bed, then I couldn't wake up "still pregnant", and my theory that I have hospital stuff ready, but its not going in a bag because it seems like tempting fate.

I want to be sane again!!!

Even found myself getting when I opened a thread with a March girl in labour .

Jasnem · 18/02/2006 15:57

Flame - I think you're due next after me now, as the others have had theirs, so don't feel too bad about moaning.
We really need to start a new thread, and beg Tabs to update our stats for us to be sure.

I've tried very hard not to hope it would be early, but you just can't help it. Even DP said today, he'd like me to have it before Monday, and he doesn't usually express an opinion on these things!
He's finally got some more work sorted for next week, but it's in London, and he leaves at 3pm to avoid getting stuck in traffic if I need him. Once I've had baby, he'll work late for the time my mum stays, in an attempt to catch up on the 6 weeks of no wages.

Tabs · 18/02/2006 16:36

No need to beg ladies! Stats are ready to go if you have a new thread title agreed.

How about - Due Feb 06 - The final push!

Jasnem · 18/02/2006 16:38

Oh Tabs, you're so much more positive than we've been!
Anyone else around to suggest/ vote on a title?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 18/02/2006 17:01

Not fussed about the title ladies, have resigned myself to being in bloomin March......
Flame whose in labour from March, argh, so unfair!
Have you tried spoons, or on 4's (good for baby positioning too!) did you buy all those pineapples in the end or just the one

Thell, I reckon you'll kick off tonight

Jas, I know your tech over due today, but I'm betting you'll kick off this weekend too, you just don't know about it, cause its your 3rd and its going to be that quick

Helen, as your due same day as me you better not be having your baby

Ixel, any news??

Hope all are as ok as can be, my birthing partner has arrived and is spending the night, (probably drunk with my other half) so no doubt nothing will kick off here, but she's doing a bloody good job of entertaining dd, so that's good

Flamesparrow · 18/02/2006 18:47

Yup - only bought the one pineapple (Oh, and have tried sod all positions recently ).

I quite like the Final Push name... maybe we should all be trying to keep a tad more positive .

Sulking cos Frizbe is clearly too scared to give me her prediction of when I'll go into labour .

Had a sleep, woken feeling about the same, but with oodles of low pressure - guessing Spark has dropped more. At the stage now of bouncing up and down saying "Come out baby!!!"

Jasnem · 18/02/2006 19:56

I've started the new thread here.

Please will someone have a baby now?
