Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

I should have come on here in the night and had some company Frizbe!!

Been up for most of it, what felt like contractions, and I have a well and truly cleared out bottom ... no sickness though, which was what was making me think it was more labour than a bug. Had 2 baths because I thought it would slow things down enough for me to sleep through the early stages, and I'd wake up in full labour... apparantly not! Woken up on and off since 7 - had a few very mild twinges, but not a lot. Now just feeling rough from the cold, no sleep, and all at a loss what to do with myself. I still feel early labourish, but it could just be optimism!!! Sent DH to work, told him he'd just have to drive fast if things changed .

3K - Glad you're home.

Everyone else... I've forgotten you already - all of a fluster!

fastasleep · 15/02/2006 09:42

Good luck flaaaaamey! A cold brought on my waters going 'pop' at 37 weeks, colds are brill for doing that! I hope it goes really quickly

You might have a wee baba to post about by tomorrow awww! (Ok now I'm just getting you excited, sorry!)

Flamesparrow · 15/02/2006 09:46

Jas - got your email... will get round to programming in your number and texting you soon

Flamesparrow · 15/02/2006 09:48

awww, hello FA!!! You guys thought I was being foolish with my whole "I've come to an agreement with the baby that it can stay in until the 15th" didn't you - I'd look soo impressive if it did come today

fastasleep · 15/02/2006 09:49

Lol! I asked mine to come early, then thought 'nooo that was stupid' but it was too late, she always listens to mummy

I hope your gorgeous bundle comes out today as expected lol

Helen38 · 15/02/2006 10:02

Come on then girls lets get some more babies born

Flamesparrow · 15/02/2006 10:05

I've arranged to spend the day with my mum - we're gonna wander round some shops etc and try and get things moving.

Jasnem · 15/02/2006 10:47

You're all going to have your babies today and tomorrow, and I'll be here on my own 'til March
Nothing happening here at all. Going to do lots of housework (maybe), and walk into town again, to either bring things on, or a t least keep me busy.

awww, no - the excitement will all be too much for you, and it will kick start everything your end too

I've probably just eaten a dodgy chinese if that makes you feel better?

Jasnem · 15/02/2006 11:14

Makes me feel miles better
Mind you, the happy poohing dance has been making me laugh, too. Just as well I'm on my own today.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 15/02/2006 11:20

Jas we won't leave you behind hon, like flame says your body will join in, just cause it has too!

Flame, yes you should have gotten yourself on here, we could have compared notes!! lol, looks like a right night for us all......

Well still feel odd, am totally off food, and have had the odd twinge here and there.....so have swept and mopped kitchen and hall floors, lounge hoovering and stairs to do next me thinks, followed by a waddle around town (out, out, out!) think will pick up some lucozade as well, feel I need the energy!

Jasnem · 15/02/2006 11:22

If you all desert me, I'll just crash the post natal thread !

Really must go and hoover....

Helen38 · 15/02/2006 11:31

MW came early

I am 3cm, and cervix very thin, feel odd so going to sit. fingers crossed baby soon

Jasnem · 15/02/2006 11:51

Yay Helen!

Tabs · 15/02/2006 13:56

Hey ladies - popping in to tell you all to get a move on . We've got a very quiet postnatal thread that needs some more members .

MrsDoolittle and Yeahbut - do we have weights for your new arrivals for the stats?

Jasnem · 15/02/2006 14:57

Very quiet on here today, too.

Maybe that's a good sign

Hoping 4B1Pis in labour/had baby by now, at the very least!
No word from Ixel today, either?....

I saw the midwife, and marched around the town today. My baby has popped back up and is not engaged at all (again).
I also forgot to ask when I should go in to hospital. May sound very silly, being a third timer, but don't want to leave it too late, as had complications with DD2 and want to be in hospital "just in case". OTOH, don't want to go in early, as I suspect that (despite reassurance otherwise from the midwife)once I'm in they'll have me strapped to monitors the whole time.
This is all assuming I do actually go into labour at some point...

Any ideas?

Thell · 15/02/2006 17:30

Gosh, it has been quiet in MN land today!
Are you all having your babies?

Jasnem, I am well and truly ready now!!
The last few days I've been feeling a bit under the weather, and very much want to get on with this birthing lark. DH inflated the pool the other night, so we're all set equipment-wise, and the house is slowly improving day by day, but I have seriously lost enthusiasm when it comes to cleaning and tidying! Once beanie is born I can make other people do it instead,...
My reference to waiting another 4 weeks was worst case scenario - am drinking RLT as we speak, carried shopping yesterday, and doing lots of squatting, much to my yoga teacher's distress!! (she keeps saying 'I'm not qualified to deliver babies, you know,...!')

Thell · 15/02/2006 17:32

Sounds like we could have four ladies in the early stages! How exciting!!
Good luck guys

Frizbetheexpansionset · 15/02/2006 18:25

Oh how I wish Thell, still feel a bit nauseous, and have drunk a bottle of lucozade and eaten a cheese sarnie, bump is well down, getting lots of pressure, but bar that nothing happening at the mo, dh has booked work off tomorrow, as he's convinced I'm gona drop tonight! lol I'm not.....will have curry/chinese for tea to see if kicks me off again!
Oh tried to call the midwife earlier, but no answer! havn't bothered trying again, as all gone quiet....

Helen wooo hoooo sounds like your on your way then!

Jas, I think re hospital I'd just head in once your contractions are regular 10min intervals, that way you're there in plenty of time, although that also said, your on your 3rd, and after my friend had her 3rd in an hour the other week, maybe I should advise you to go in asap?!?

Thell, sending you lots of speedy labour vibes hon x

cuffyj1 · 15/02/2006 18:46

Hi everyone

Me and Lewis came out of hospital on Sunday and are settled at home now.

I've put all the gory details of his birth in birth announcements.

Congratulations to all the other mums and babies.

Flamesparrow · 15/02/2006 19:11

Hiya, been with my mum all day.

Helen - you sound promising.

I'm off my food The cold has come out good and strong. Been having "uncomfortable tightenings" every 15 mins since about 1pm, but nothing any more exciting than that. DH is off out to play tonight - seems pointless him staying home while nothing is really starting... told him he's to come the instant I summon him though . Think I'll have dinner and a warm bath and head for bed... hopefully wake up with less of a cold, and more pain!

I feel very much at the start of it all, but get the feeling that it could be a long and drawn out process this time round (wasn't with DD). I have a lounge to tidy and dishes to do before labour too, so that could occupy me

Evening,

cuffy - welcome back, and big congratulationson the safe arrival of Lewis. DD2 was back to back, and I had similar problems in the end, but you do forget!

I genuinely can't remember what it was like before, but I went in early with both of mine. I went as soon as contractions started with DD2, and she was born 3 hours later, and DD1 was only 4 hours from when I found it really painful. Trying not to worry as I know anything can happen this time round, and it might be another lovely birth.[crossed fingers and toes]

I'm still hoping that the lack of activity on here today means lots of babies busy being born...best wishes to everyone who's on the way today.
