Hoping to carry on the brilliant thread started by misscoffeenwine which was so popular we got to 1000 posts before starting another - come over and join me...... Promise to think of a more original name for Part 3!

Good luck pamplemousse.

Well after chatting about my NT results earlier I just got them in through the post - same as DS's results - 1:100,000 risk.

Feels good but a bit like deja vu.

Whatevertheweather · 08/03/2012 13:39

Hope it's all gone well Pamplemousse

Wow MissCNW that is low low risk Smile I know it's just another hurdle past though. Glad you're getting a 16 week scan.

Sorry you're feeling poorly cjbk seems to be a lot going round. Lots of rest and hot ribena. Hope you feel better soon x

Hope the others with scans today all go well.

With movements with dd1 I think it was around 16-17 weeks I felt first ones and I had a posterior placenta. Dd2 it was about 22 weeks I was really stressing about it but had an anterior placenta so much more cushioned. This time I've felt a few things this week that have made me wonder but could just be wind Smile What I've felt feels like fluid sloshing around and sort of making me feel a bit off balance for a second??

Thali34 · 08/03/2012 15:00

Hope all the scans go well.

I'm not really feeling anything yet, but first pg and they say it's more common to feel movements early if it's a subsequent pg. Exciting though! I will def be on the lookout now, just in case! :)

Welcome jules, I'm also due on 6th, although scan measured for the 7th, but there's not much in it! I'm confused by those measurements, coz surely all the little beans grow at slightly different rates!?

cjbk so sorry for you if you've come down with something - I had a cold last week and it was awful! Was trying to be good and do without any meds but it was miserable!! Hope you feel better in time for weekend.

blondiep14 · 08/03/2012 17:30

Hello all again!
Have skimmed this and will try and catch up later when DS1&2 are in bed.
Scan next Wed, can't wait, it feels like the longest 7 weeks of waiting ever!

LittleSpade - so very sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself and DH

Loopyhasanotherbean · 08/03/2012 19:44

re the dream genie pillow, i got one of those when pregnant with DS, found it really useful in making sure i only slept on my left hand side as per the recommendations (although as pregnancy went on if i dared to break the rules and roll onto my right hand side, i would be aching within minutes and have to roll back anyhow!) I found it very comfy in the earlier months, but that as i got bigger, it didn't give me enough support. At that stage i bought one of the full body pillows, which was great at wedging in all the aching places :)

good luck with the scans coming up.

re 16 week appointment, midwives get booked up very quickly here, so i phoned up and booked mine already. (i'm 13+2 today) here it's always down to me to book the appointments, they have never contacted me to get me to make an appointment (even the booking ones i've ended up having to phone the midwife)

Iph · 08/03/2012 21:10

I'm so sorry littlespade, MMC is so cruel :( I was where you are about 4 months ago and here I am now 3 and a half months pregnant so there is hope. We were TTC over 6 months previously so the old adage that you may be more fertile following MC seemed to hold in my case (could be total coincidence) and I hope it's the same for you. Be kind to yourself and your partner, thinking of you.

pamplemousse I really hope the scan was good news. Reading about the bleeding in your first pregnancy was really reassuring for me while I was bleeding and I hope that you have the same outcome this time. Everything crossed x

Iph · 08/03/2012 21:23

Also had to book my own 16 week appointment here so I'd recommend ringing ASAP.

I'm pretty sure I've been feeling swirls and bubbles for a few days now too, I'm 14.2 today. Can't remember when I felt the other 2 but not this early. I stole borrowed the Doppler from work today and after a lot of patient probing around (and finding my own heartbeat several times!) I got a good listen to the baby's heartbeat :) It was unmistakeable, like a little steam train! I've roughly counted about 168 bpm. Also think I pissed the bean off because the probe of the Doppler prompted a little flurry of activity underneath it and I could hear little swishes of movement. Very exciting but I'll be good and return the machine tomorrow for it's proper use on patient's feet Blush

Kazar99 · 08/03/2012 21:51

Hello everyone.

Can I join you? I've got my scan on Monday when I should be 13 weeks. Had some bleeding and an early scan at 7+4 and discovered it's twins! Shock First pregnancy at age of 36. Could also be my last!!

Had a large area of clotting back then so hoping it won't cause any problems and both babies are still there. Really nervous as getting some pains but think it's just growing pains. Will be glad when I get scan over and can tell work - really struggling to fit in my ordinary work clothes and hide my bump!

Hope everyone else's scans go well and hugs to those are feeling poorly and to those who didn't get the news they were hoping for.

Loup23 · 08/03/2012 22:13

Woohoo we got our first twins!! Grin welcome kazaar.

ballroomblitz · 08/03/2012 22:37

Grin Grin You are the twins we have been waiting on Kazar. Double congratulations to you.

ladygagoo I rang today. Funny I asked the receptionist if I needed to make the appointment or is it sent out as I couldn't remember from last time. Yes, we have to make them and there is only a clinic day once a week with us too. So my appointment is on Friday 13th next month. Good thing I'm not superstitious!!

Hope everything went ok for you today pample x

oikopolis · 08/03/2012 22:38

Kazar! Congrats!!!!!! Wow what a shock, a happy one but still a shock!!

pample you're on my mind

funchum8am · 09/03/2012 07:42

Hi everyone I've been quiet for a while as having a bit of a (purely psychological, I hope) wobble as my symptoms have pretty much gone. I am 12+1 today so hopefully it's just a slightly earlier version of what you would expect at the end of the first trimester with symptoms easing - I never had many to begin with. I can feel my uterus from the outside and it seems to be growing, and no bleeding or anything, so am trying to pull myself together. Scan is next Weds, 14th March.

I'm so sorry to hear about MMC littlespade, the miscarriage/pregnancy loss threads are really supportive and helpful in realising that what you're feeling is normal. MMC is what I am worried about the scan revealing but need to try and stay sane for five more days.

Right, off to work to pretend that all is normal!

stelleyespan · 09/03/2012 08:31

I?m confused about what scans I should be having. I?m 14+5 today but should I have a 16 week scan booked? Do I book it or does a letter come?

ladygagoo · 09/03/2012 08:33

thanks for the advice to ring up for the MW appt. I called yesterday and booked it and they said definitely call in for any future appointments.

Wow Kazar thats such exciting news, congratulations Thanks

Loopyhasanotherbean · 09/03/2012 09:05

no stelleyespan you have a mw appt at 16 weeks, and a scan around 20 weeks. your green notes should tell you what appts will be due and in what weeks - if your mw has done things properly?

Poppyjen · 09/03/2012 09:15

Just marking my spot - thanks for new thread Smile

Bakeroo I had a midwife appointment yesterday at 14+4 and she used the doppler to find the heartbeat, it was difficult to find and quite quiet but it was there and 140bpm Grin

LittleSpade · 09/03/2012 09:44

Thanks iph all the stories of good future outcomes definately help. Can i ask, if you don't mind, did you wait the mc out naturally or have the ERPC? Did you have bleeding prior to the mmc being diagnosed?

Fingers crossed for you funchum! The worst thing for me was that when i went for the scan i still felt fairly pregnant hence it being such a shock. In hindsight I think some of the symptoms, particularly sore boobs, had eased off slighly at around the 12 week mark but being my first pregnancy I had assumed that was 'normal' based on what others where saying on here and what i'd read in books.

I've fortunately/unfortunately found some people i used to know from this thread over in the miscarriage/loss forum.

Smallgreenone · 09/03/2012 12:52

Hi ladies, do any of you have any thoughts on dopplers? Are they a really bad idea? I've just rented one and am not sure I dare try it out and am considering sending it back! Have any of you used one and how early on did you hear the heartbeat? I'm 12+4 today. X

Whatevertheweather · 09/03/2012 13:09

I'd like to try one smallgreenone but am scared I'll get obsessed with it. Also the other warning I've had on them is don't rely on them if you think there is something wrong (i.e change in movements later on) do still go and get checked with a proper ctg trace. Only that would pick up subtle changes in the heartbeat that could indicate the baby is in distress.

pamplem0usse · 09/03/2012 14:48

Sorry for my incommunicadoness I dropped my iPhone down the loo! Boo.
All well with my little grub (and just one!) 12 weeks today so due 21st September. Tres exciting.
On a negative note I've got a massive cyst on one of my ovaries.... boo.... so that has to be monitored. And my past history means I'm classed as high risk so consultant led care here I come....

Littlecherublegs · 09/03/2012 15:18

Hoorah, I've finally found what I've been looking for - this thread!! Smile

Just been catching up on everyones news - so sorry to hear of the losses.

Congrats to those who have had recent, positive scans - and good to hear the twins have been found!!

stelleyespan - I'm not booked in for a 16 week scan. I've had my 12 week one and my next is due when I'm 20 week. Im dont think they do a 16 week scan as standard.

Smallgreenone - I dont think I would dare get a doppler as I would become obsessed!! I think Im content knowing I've had my 12 week scan and that I'll see it again in a few weeks at the 20 week one.

pamplem0usse - sorry to hear you're classed as high risk though exytra monitoring wont be a bad thing. And congrats on passing the 12 week mark, whoop! Smile

Big hugs all round!! Smile

Loup23 · 09/03/2012 15:47

checking in to woop pample been waiting for your good news!

I had a consultant appointment on Tuesday and persuaded her to try and listen for the heart beat - very relieved that she found it (was 14+2 on Tuesday). MW appointment next week and then count down to 20 week scan, we're getting there ladies...!!

Is anyone else still suffering tiredness? Glad to say sickness has stopped but am 15 weeks tomorrow and still really struggling with feeling tired (oh and have horrific skin too) anyone else?!

mrsd1980 · 09/03/2012 15:50

Exciting for all you ladies who have been having movements! I've been feeling what I hoped to be little movements for a few days now, but earlier today I know for absolutely sure that I felt our little jelly bean moving - so exciting!! With my first I felt movements at around 15 weeks, and this time at almost 12 weeks. It's an unmistakable feeling, different to gas etc.

ladygagoo I would defo make an appointment, from past experience I wouldn't rely on them getting in touch with you.

Got my scan on Tues, can't wait!

Macaroons · 09/03/2012 15:59

kazar congrats with the twins! Wonder if there are more to come on this thread? Grin

littlespade good to see you popping by. Please take great care of yourself, and don't lose heart! Best of luck with the next baby bus ride.

I'm 14 weeks now, have been sleeping better (less middle of the night trip to the loo) I hope this is because uterus moving away from the bladder and sleeping problem will go away for a while

TMI alert - had fish pie for lunch and no idea why there's so much (smelly) gas this afternoon... Even though I did go for a poo this morning!

Have you all been having funny dreams? Two nights this week I've been having dreams of me having wonderful sex with my hubby Blush

Smallgreenone · 09/03/2012 16:03

Great news pample glad your little one is ok.
I think I might keep my Doppler in its box until nearer my 16 week appointment, that way if I can't find a heartbeat at least it won't be long to wait until I can see the midwife! I fluctuate from thinking hurrah I've had my 12 week scan and everything's fine to oh my god I don't know what's going on in there is it all ok!
MrsD - must be amazing to feel movements at 12 weeks, you're so lucky.
