Hoping to carry on the brilliant thread started by misscoffeenwine which was so popular we got to 1000 posts before starting another - come over and join me...... Promise to think of a more original name for Part 3!

Macaroons · 11/06/2012 19:40

Congrats ladygagoo and good luck tinkermaloo

On the breast front, I was a B before, my wired bras did become uncomfortable when I was in my first few months so I switched to unwired and they now still fit... So... My boobs haven't really got that much bigger, disappointing!Envy

Just wondering if anyone else is suffering from rib pain and thigh pain (close to groin area)? Sometimes I struggle to stand up. Both pain are on the left side so makes sleeping on my left very uncomfortable. Tried sleeping on my right now, but sometimes I roll back to my left during my sleep.

funchum8am · 11/06/2012 20:38

ladygagoo eek congratulations! How exciting!!! Enjoy your time on cloud nine!

I am having no leaking or anything but boobs went up from 34F to 34FF a few weeks ago, and I switched from my beloved underwired to non underwired bras then too. If I cannot breastfeed, having lugged these two around since the age of about 15, I will be FURIOUS! They had better work!

macaroons I slipped on a bit of rainwater outside my office today and got a really horrible pain in the groin but luckily it went away quite quickly...has made me realise I do need to take it easy and not dash about as I have been doing though. I am worried I am going to end up with SPD as if I sit on a hard chair for a while, or get up from a chair quickly, I get really horrible pains in my groin. Nothing down my sides though, and I am finding that my shaped pillow thing stops me turning over in the night somehow, which is handy for keeping me on the side I want to be on.

pgreen · 12/06/2012 07:59

Wow Congrats ladygagoo thats brilliant news. misscoffee dead impressed, I have a pair of particularly stretchy "normal" jeans I can still get into with a belly belt but have been on Mat jeans for ages. Finding lots of things constricting around the waist. This weather is horrid and I've had to "borrow" some long sleeve stuff from DH as no longer fit into my pre bump clothes. I only bought one long sleeve maternity top thinking it'll be summer when I need mat clothes.... how wrong was I!

On the boob front I went up 2 cup sizes and one back size. Think I need another size bigger as getting very tight around rib cage.... but weird thing happened yesterday. This might be tmi (so look away now) my nipples got really sore yesterday and then went weirdly lumpy for about half a day. Was really unpleasant. Back to normal now. Weird body stuff seems to happen daily at the moment Hmm

Have had a horrid 48 hours, nothing baby related, but have been crying lots and I swear the bump knows somethings up. My poor little dog had to have emergency surgery after swallowing a baited fishing hook with line attached whilst we were out on a walk. I've been most distressed and the baby then had sympathy with me I think. My pooch is now home but still very poorly & baby back to regular kicking pattern.......

MakeTeaNotWar · 12/06/2012 08:40

funchum and pgreen Thanks to you both, how nasty - glad you didn't hurt yourself fun and poor doggy pgreen !

Had my first Daisy Birthing class last night and it was lovely, really enjoyed it. A mix of yoga, active birthing and hypnobirthing. Very friendly and relaxing and after just one class, I know I am definitely going to adopt some of the moves in labour. It's a 6 week course so I have time to repeat it again after this term if I want to (and I'm already thinking that I will). More than anything when life is so hectic with a busy job, long commute and energetic toddler, it's a rare occasion to connect with the bump and embrace the life growing inside.

DD and I are off to Ireland on Thurs for a few days to visit my parents who we haven't see since Christmas and my very poorly godfather who's had a heart attack. Really looking forward to going home for a short break but have to get a fit to fly letter from the GP today - costs £20 and I bet the airline won't even ask to see it even though they recommend I carry it from 25 weeks.

pgreen · 12/06/2012 08:53

MakeTeaNotWar I hope your grandfather get better soon. He'll love seeing the "bump". Whereabouts are you heading to? I used to spend every summer & easter holiday on my grandparents farm on the West Meath/Offaly borders... dont get back so often now that they have passed away.

MakeTeaNotWar · 12/06/2012 09:00

Thanks pgreen. I'm from Waterford so we fly to Cork and get to spend a night with my old uni old then down home for a few days.

LadyLillyWilliamSnowflake · 12/06/2012 09:38

I have so much to go back and read (might have to wait until I get home though).

I nearly just cried at work because I thought I'd lost the thread Sad

Rachel130690 · 12/06/2012 14:43

Hey guys I'm a newbie to this site, I'm due the 03/09/2012 with my first baby :) im all excited but very very nervous.. Have been ignoring the whole what happens at the end, by not thinking about it. Also I leave the room when my auntie and mum talk about labour (eek that's a scary word!!) lol but it's starting to dawn on me that it's gonna happen and that maybe I should start looking into it. I'm 21 (22 tomorrow :D)

Also I have been reading loads of posts and I don't get the lingo, dd dc op? I'm confused.. Any help would be great. How's everyone doing today?

Mikyahrose · 12/06/2012 15:50

Hey Rachel i'm pretty new here too, edd (estimated due date) :) is 18th September, so not far behind you.

There's a link near the top of the screen called Acronyms, that has all the lingo explained - i spend a lot of my time heading there to see what people mean.

Have a good look round the site - all the topics - i've found all sorts of fun and useful stuff. :)

WinterMymble · 12/06/2012 17:38

Wow - it's exciting reading about everybody's latest experiences - we've just ordered the pushchair too - takes ages to arrive apparently so we had to do it now. It is the icandy strawberry, because it folds with one push and remembers its position when unfolded etc - good for busses in some circs. And it's very light so I can push it along OK, which is a plus.

Not sure what the birth plan will be. Might have to be caesarean, though some doctors say I could try natural. I would prefer natural but not if it would have Dire Ramifications as one of the doctors warned me in my case.

But mostly I am just flopping around like a lethargic blimp. ANyone else spectacularly lethargic and not achieving much? I am lucky work is quite quiet at the moment! Most of my colleagues are working from home these weeks and so I am doing the same occasionally, and I am achieving nothing much at all. Apart from acquiring a pushchair :)

MrsHelsBels74 · 12/06/2012 17:56

This might be TMI but I noticed today that all my 'bits & bobs' (as they are known in this house for some strange reason-i.e. fanjo) are really swollen, like massively so...never had this before...anyone else?

funchum8am · 12/06/2012 18:16

No swelling here I'm afraid helsbels sorry to hear you're having that!

I am getting pain in my coccyx today when I sit in my office chair so have to bring a cushion in tomorrow!

Had to interview a chap from my team for a promotion yesterday and he tells me he was a bit put off at times when answering questions by my bump moving!!!! He did get the job though (deservedly so as he managed to hide that he was noticing movements very well indeed!) I had no idea my top was that tight and I was wearing a suit jacket over it!

ballroomblitz · 12/06/2012 19:35

Congratulations ladygagoo , welcome to newbies and happy birthday for tomorrow Rachel

All this talk about fundal heights makes me glad I'm long in the body with some room for the organs still, although it makes my bump a very odd shape. Finding it disconcerting enough to feel the kicks getting higher the last couple of days.

Anyone worrying about boobs size I'm another one who had an A cup and managed to bf last time. I don't think the size matters a jot. Was woken up last night with a pain through my nipple that kind of reminded me of the 'knitting needle jabbed through the nipple' pain I got when first bf ds so maybe things are starting to get themselves ready.

My granny's funeral tomorrow so big, emotional day for me. Finding it hard to switch off at night and have had more than one night where I haven't slept a wink. Had to go out and buy some clothes for tomorrow so cheered myself up a bit by buying my first couple of packs of vests and sleepsuits. How can things look so tiny and so big at the same time (big when considering they will be inside you)?

leelteloo · 13/06/2012 06:47

Happy birthday Rachel Smile

Loup23 · 13/06/2012 10:20

Happy Birthday Rachel and congratulations!

HelsBels - I experienced a similar feeling about 6 weeks ago, scared the life out of me as could really feel it when I sat down etc.... I think it's something to do with extra blood flow to that region or something, so nothing to worry about!

Welcome back from Brittany tinker glad you had a lovely time!

Sorry to hear about your poor dog pgreen hope he's on the road to recovery, I'm so protective over our pets makes me wonder how i'll be about the baby! Probably too scared to let it out of my sight!

maketea have a lovely time in Ireland, sorry to hear about your godfather, hope he makes a good recovery too.

ballroom thinking of you today and hoping the funeral goes as well as it can Thanks

Had my GTT test yesterday and have a scan at 33 weeks to see if the placenta has moved up. Starting to feel so scarily close now - we only have 35 posts left until this thread is full so need to start thinking about a third thread (nearly went in to meltdown when we temporarily lost each other last time!) Any ideas for names - wow third trimester, nearly there girls! x

OP posts:
Rachel130690 · 13/06/2012 10:36

Hey thanks very much ballroomblitz, leelteloo and loup23...

It's crazy how close it is now.. This is my first so starting to freak out a bit about everything. Lol tho think I've still a lot of growing to do, I still fit in my normal clothes, have one pair of maternity trousers tightened up completely. Lol but still wear my normal size 10 clothes. have not put on any weight either (lost a bit during first trimester but am only back up to normal weight for me) expecting to wake up some day and just be huge lol anyone like this?

Names are so so hard to decide, my boyfriend (still not onto all the lingo) wants to call him (would be after my Granda) but I just haven't decided yet, just can't imagine choosing someone's name for life.. And one else have any names decided?

Rachel130690 · 13/06/2012 10:37

Sorry my boyfriend wants to call him Herbie after my Granda.. Dunno how that name got deleted out lol

leelteloo · 13/06/2012 10:39

I'm very happy this morning: got the whole of LO's newborn wardrobe with the tesco club card voucher exchange. Essentially all free and delivered free Grin. If you want to double your vouchers today before 12pm is the last chance. Now can't wait for a the tiny things to arrive and fill his draw.

leelteloo · 13/06/2012 10:42

Herbie is fantastic! Love it. We've had name all sorted since we found out sex; we actually had it for last time but she was a she so it was a no brainer.

MrsHelsBels74 · 13/06/2012 10:56

We're down to a short list of 2 names at the moment: Albert (Bertie) & Harry (although would probably be formally named Henry). I prefer Harry, husband prefers Bertie. Our son refers to baby Harry though so I might get my way yet! Grin

Smallgreenone · 13/06/2012 11:17

Love the name Herbie Rachel.
Just at the hospital again for some more monitoring then scan tomorrow and more monitoring on Friday. Reassuring that I'm being seen so often but I do feel like I spend most of my life at the hospital! At least I'll know my way around when it comes to delivery time!!
On the plus side I ordered some beautiful furniture for the nursery yesterday. Takes 8 weeks as made to order so hopefully will be here with plenty of time before baby arrives. Glad I did it yesterday though, didn't realise it took 8 weeks, could have been a disaster!

Smallgreenone · 13/06/2012 11:19

Oooh held bels just seen your post- we have Bertie on our shortlist too! There aren't enough Berties in this world! Xxx

NightmareWalking · 13/06/2012 11:19

DH reformatted my laptop without backing up the names list this morning so we're back to square one on the names front - although I remember Herbert was on there (vetoed by DH of course, we can't agree on boys names at all although there are a few girls ones we agree on luckily!)

I'm still in my regular clothes and the midwife congratulated me on my 'compact' bump on Monday - well, I'll take praise wherever I get it :O all else is going fine, LO kicked at the doppler several times at the appointment - LO generally very kicky although s/he generally refuses to move when DH is trying to feel it!

shellybop · 13/06/2012 12:30

Congratulations ladygagoo and hi to all the newbies!
Happy birthday Rachel and i hope that today goes ok ballroom...

Thanks to all for the 'boob-news'. Is definitely reassuring that so many people have had so many different experiences and managed to breastfeed ok. I just need to chill out about it and what will be will be!

we are just thinking about names and surprisingly we have a few names we agree on!

Midwife appt tomorrow, so fingers crossed that all is well.

sclayton · 13/06/2012 15:16

Hi all, I was unable to read the messages since Jun 4th.
So let me summarize.
funchum, About the glucose being slightly impaired, the doc suggested that I cut down on carbs, have more proteins. Macaroons on Jun4 has given the exact diet which my doc suggested: brown rice, brown bread and stuff.

With DD, my labour pains went off smooth. First timers, it is nothing to worry about.

This time, I am planning to take off 8 weeks leave from work, before due date.

Hearing about all the 32, 34 sizes makes my 36 -> 38 C sound huge Sad
After a meal, there is hardly any gap left between my boobs and my bump!

Welcome all new comers.

MissCoffeeNWine, I have a 6 year DD who helps me around the house too. She bends and picks things up for me. She even scolds me if I try to bend or lift anything heavy. She is very understanding of my condition. She is all excited for the newcomer too.

Votes up for DD!
