You all got me interested about BMI and weight so had to go to my mum's and weigh myself as I don't keep scales in my house. 11 weeks tomorrow and I have put on slightly over a stone from pre-pregnancy weight. I dare say stopping smoking and not rushing around living off caffeine has a lot to do with it.

BMI I'm not worried about at all as I would have been verging on underweight a year ago (caused by stress) and I've been trying to get a bit of weight on me as I looked bloody awful and far too skinny.

flipflopper · 07/03/2012 14:42

Hi all, I am feeling so tired today that I dont know what to do with myself. I'm also feelin sick and got a headache. My MS stopped a couple of weks ago, so not sure why I'm feeling so yukky today.

Just feeling sorry for myself! I need to go and make myself look human for the school run, if possible!

Congrats on your scan smallgreenone! Its amazing isnt it x

pamplem0usse · 07/03/2012 14:47

Could do with some hand holding ladies!
Have a scan tomorrow at 10.30 due to bleeding :( only a little amount, but had it sporadically throughout this pregnancy. Also with my DD, and so I was trying to be chilled out it but the midwife put the frighteners on me and so I went to the DR on Monday. Anyway half frightened that grub won't be there, and half that there will be two grubs!
On the BMI front I started off at 31 with my DD and proceeded to put on three and a half stone. I ended up with a nearly-10lb baby and polyhydramnios (over a litre excess of amniotic fluid). So if my tummy muscles weren't stuffed before, they were afterwards. Then I had a failed induction (three days got to 5cm) and an emergency section, followed by infected stitches due to pressure from my weight which pulled them apart (TMI sorry). Anyway desperate not to have these issues this time, so by breastfeeding, light exercise and healthy eating have managed to get my BMI to 22.5. Will be interesting to see to what extent the issues above were to do with my weight (as I was told) and what might have happened anyway. Don't think this baby will be a lot smaller as I'm 5"11...... Hmmm....

NightmareWalking · 07/03/2012 14:56

I'm here & will hold your hand pamplem0usse, hopefully the scan will reassure you .

Really I was just popping in to check in on the shiny new thread - scan a week tomorrow when I will be 12 +5, I can't wait.

On weight, I was 9st 4 pre-preg and now 8st 11, mw says that's nothing to worry about although of course that doesn't stop me worrying (I've been almost obsessively peeing on sticks once a week since I found out 'just in case' Blush.

Also DP became DH last week - only took us 9 years to get round to that! Grin

pamplem0usse · 07/03/2012 15:00

Ahh congratulations Nightmare how lovely! Did you go for Feb 29th?!!
And thanks for hand holding. Sure it'll be fine but symptom wise I've done so much better this time than with my DD (was sick 10-15 times a day with her and haven't even been sick 10 times this whole pregnancy) that I can't help thinking there might be an issue.
Or maybe a little boy?!!

york67 · 07/03/2012 15:10

Congrats nightmare. |Think we have scan on same day. 15th March.
Happy to hand hold too pample

lurkingmurking · 07/03/2012 15:11

pample good luck - hand holding here too! Amazing to get your BMI right down like that well done!

Nightmare huge congrats!

My BMI is higher this time than with DS (32 I think) so I have to have a GD test - thank goodness though the cut off for the birth centre is 35 so as long as I'm realtively careful I should be ok!

NightmareWalking · 07/03/2012 15:55

Thanks ladies, we did go for 29th, fewer anniverseries to forget that way! DH proposed on 1st Feb so we managed it in record time and had a lovely sunshiny day with our families Grin

Yay York, we can be scan buddies Smile

ballroomblitz · 07/03/2012 16:55

Another one to hold your hand pample. Wow you went through the wars a bit with your dd. The mws tell me I'm tall at 5'7 just Grin Funny my mum keeps thinking I'm having a girl this time because I've gone off red meat totally whereas with ds I couldn't eat enough of the stuff. It's curious how the body reacts differently everytime.

Congratulations Nightmare. That's lovely. I'm sure your families were thrilled for you.

I'm glad your scan went well smallgreen :)

Ju1es22 · 07/03/2012 21:14

Hello everyone

I've not posted on here yet been a bit of a scaredy cat! I've had a bit of a journey im pregnant for the 6th time in 3 years 5 miscarriages all within the first trimester! So I've obviously been on edge.

I had my 6th scan of this pregnancy Monday after another episode of bleeding 3 in all and thankfully alls fine! Im 14 weeks tomorrow morning sickness all but disappeared and im feeling great!

Just want to enjoy being pregnant now! Im due 6 September anyone due around my date?

Hope everything doing ok and your scans show lovely lively babies xx

MissCoffeeNWine · 07/03/2012 23:39

Joining you all on the new thread. Sorry for your loss LittleSpade. I too have been there, there are lots of supportive threads in conception as well when you're ready to try again.

My BMI is 24, I'm the exact same weight as I was pre-this-pregnancy but I was a good few pounds more than I'd like then, so still am now, mainly weight from my previous pregnancy, which only ended two months before this one was conceived, and to be honest I spent those two months feeling pretty rubbish and grieving, not dieting and working out. Oh and then there was Christmas! I find it pretty easy to lose weight when the baby arrives though, I get loads of exercise when I've got a little one because I hate staying at home all day. And slinging baby/toddler everywhere is great too.

Fingers crossed pamplemousse.

I'm 13 weeks 2 days now and counting down to the second trimester, I've still a long way until I feel safe but I am pretty sure I'm feeling movements now, so that's lovely. I didn't feel my last baby until 15 weeks and so only had a couple of weeks of him bopping around before he died, maybe with that being so recent I'm able to feel it easier? I have no idea. Movements react to prodding and gentle pushing on my abdomen, so I can provoke it into swishing about. I felt a bit silly saying I could feel it, thinking it was way too early - but then I realised noone thought it was funny when I could feel DS at 15 weeks and that's really only a matter of days away Shock

Anyone else feeling what I can only describe as swivels or flutters?

Macaroons · 08/03/2012 07:12

Haven't been posting for a few days and this thread is getting really busy!

So sorry about your loss littlespade take care

ju1es my due date is 7/9 so just one day after you! I just realised its only half a year to go!!!!

My BMI was 24 before pregnancy and have so far gained about 8 pounds. I do hope I'll lose some weight after the little one arrives!

I remember seeing dream genii mentioned on previous thread, review is mixed on kiddicare website, is it any good? Thought about getting one but it's not cheap!

Good luck to those having scans!

mrsd1980 · 08/03/2012 07:53

macaroons I used the dreamgenii pillow for my last pregnancy and I loved it, worth every penny IMO. I turn a lot when I sleep and I like the fact that you can use it on your left or right side without having to move the whole pillow when you roll over. Will definitely be using it again this time. Also useful for breastfeeding once DC arrives!

ballroomblitz · 08/03/2012 08:36

Welcome and congrats Ju1es. Hopefully this time is the one for you. There's a Sept stats thread floating about on this board so there should be someone due about the same time as you.

Misscoffee are you not in the second trimester now? From what I read it was the 14th week so counts from 13+1. There seems to be a bit of disagreement depending where you read Grin I felt a funny swirling feeling a couple of days ago but that was after jumping around like a mad thing to a track I hadn't heard for years on the radio. I never had that feeling with ds though, more like tapping from the inside, so I wondered if it was the fluid??? It doesn't seem unremarkable that you should be able to feel something quite early in a subsequent pregnancy apparently.

TinkerMaloo · 08/03/2012 08:47

MissCoffee I can definitely feel swirls and gentle tappings, have been for over a week now! It is apparently unusual but not unheard of to feel them move at this early stage.

Nice isnt it! :)

Smallgreenone · 08/03/2012 09:09

Morning ladies, good luck today pamplemousse I have my fingers crossed.
I've just told my manager - she was lovely! I'm not telling anyone else in the office until 16 weeks I think as am a bit paranoid still that it's not really happening. I wish I could feel some movements, maybe as this is my first I won't feel them until later?

elliemay80 · 08/03/2012 09:35

MissCoffee I am 14+2 and am have been feeling fluttery movements and very gentle popping sensations over the past few days.

It's nice! I think any reassurance that everything's ok in this limbo period between the 12 week scan and the 16 week midwife appt (in 4 weeks for me) is good so I'm even not too hacked off about the dreadful insomnia that has struck this week.

MissCoffeeNWine · 08/03/2012 09:48

I didn't feel movement with my DD until past 20 weeks smallgreenoneso I wouldn't worry. Then it was 15w for my angel DS and now 13 for this one.

ballroomblitz the thresholds for second trimester MC are 14-24 weeks, as I've found out twice, so I go from that, makes a fair difference to treatment if the worst happens, as I've also found out, but not fair on preg ladies to go into detail here.

ladygagoo · 08/03/2012 09:57

So sorry littlespade - winging a big hug your way

Fingers crossed for your scan Pample - do let us know how you get on.

I haven't been sleeping well at all - waking at 3 mainly and then not getting back to sleep at all.... however this morning I slept through the night and suddenly feel great, it probably won't last so I'm madly cleaning the house from top to bottom as it is a bit of a pit. Blush

My BMI is 24, I think I have put on just over half a stone - mainly boobs and from eating too many sweets and crisps - trying to be much healthier from now on though - a pregnant woman with rotten teeth is so not a good look!

Does anyone know the form for the 16 week MW visit - mine is only at the surgery 2 days a week so I don't know if I should call and make a future appointment or if they will get in touch with me (sorry sounds a bit naive) I have a bit of a fear of being a PITA so I'd hate to bother them unnecessarily.

Macaroons · 08/03/2012 10:10

Isn't it exciting to feel movement? I'm 14 weeks now but maybe because I'm a first timer and don't know what to expect, so can't feel anything yet?

Really looking forward to the 20w scan to see the little one again, and to find out the sex! (not till 26/4 though...)

MissCoffeeNWine · 08/03/2012 11:01

I'd ring up and make the appointment ladygagoo. They're only at my surgery one day a week. I haven't made any appointments yet as they see me more on an as and when basis. My last 16w visit they listened to the HB.

I haven't had any NT results back yet but it's now been a week since the scan and they say if there's anything of concern they ring you in about five days, so I'm hoping that means there's nothing of concern. I got the letter through with DS about 10 days after the scan and he had 1:100,000 risk.

I won't be scheduled for anomaly scan until a bit later than usual but have an appt with cons next week should have a scan at 16 weeks with her too. Hopefully, I'll get good news then.

pamplem0usse · 08/03/2012 11:03

Waiting for my scan. clinic running v late and all alone Eek.

flipflopper · 08/03/2012 11:12

they are always running late arenat they, torture with a full bladder!
Thinking of you xx

lurkingmurking · 08/03/2012 12:12

Pample hope you've been in and out by now and all is ok.

I didn't feel movements clearly with DS until the day of my 20 week scan when he kicked the ultrasound thingy really hard Grin

cjbk1 · 08/03/2012 12:34

I was asleep this morning while dc's at school/nursery then I half woke and it was 11.52! jumped into the car to collect dd, been bak a while still don't feel right, all shivery and headachy and meant to be out tonight and tomorrow Sad
