Had my nuchal scan yesterday and feel like we're nearly out of the woods. baby had a nuchal measurement of 0.9mm which is just tiny. I've just got to wait today to find if our previous history puts us in the high risk category or not, but if they were looking at us as normal we'd be fine. (just depends on if the computer says 'no' or not.
So fingers crossed my phone doesn#t ring today! (and it won't if I don't get off the internet.)
nearly sooo happy!!! We have an appintment for 20 wk scan which we were never even given last time because of the circumstances so it all looks positive!!!!

babylily (12+2) and a new due date of 16th august!

Nbg · 03/02/2006 12:11

Good news Babylily. Things are sounding positive for you.

BigHotMama · 03/02/2006 13:03

Hi all, fingers crossed here for you Babylilly. I've got 2 appointments to go to on Monday, seems bit strange? One with the midwife at Hospital to discuss tests/screening and the 2nd one with my midwife at my GP's to test urine, BP etc. Is this normal? Had to show my boss my appointment cards as I kept thinking she would think I was making it up - 2 app's with 2 diff MD's on same day? Bizarre!

NBG How ya feeling today?

Thanks for your info Act, I was looking at the M&P's Prammette the other day. Anybody got one already?

Nbg · 03/02/2006 13:12

Yeah that seems about right BHM. You may see a Dr whilst your there too. Your midwife appt at your gp's is just your regular routine appt.

Lucky you ey, afternoon off work!

Feeling better today. I've had it 2 days now so it's on it's way out. At least I can breath now!

Feel daft moaning about it when poor Lunavix can barely eat from feeling sick.

I've been getting some weird feelings the last few days. One was a feeling of sadness in a way as I realised that when this little one arrives, everything will be different. For a start dd will be starting Nursery in October. It will be so strange not having her around, being able to chat to her or just walking to the park, just the two of us.
I think I will make an extra effort to do some things together on our own in the next few months.
It might sound silly but it's dawned on me that I'm never going to get this time back again.
(Don't know what made me think I would, lol)

Anyone else feel like this?

kitegirl · 03/02/2006 13:16

I know what you mean Nbg. I've been worried how ds will react when the baby comes. I enjoy being with him so much, going to Tumble Tots or soft play or to the park, or just hanging out at home and I fear that he is going to feel left out when mummy has a newborn to look after. Just have to make these next few months extra special - and I hear that apparently if the new baby brings a big present that helps!

Nbg · 03/02/2006 13:22

Oh good, glad I'm not on my own with this one.

I've been thinking about the present idea lots. I was also thinking about the time when I have the baby. I think I'll insist that no one visits until dd has spent time with the baby.

aprilgirl · 03/02/2006 15:05

anyone bought anything yet... im itching to start you think 12+5 is too soon ?

trix1 · 03/02/2006 15:16

Hi - im itching to buy too April, started looking at pushchairs, Ive bought a couple of maternity tops and my friend has given me quite a few pairs of jeans and trousers. I have a little bump out front.

I told my son last night that the new baby might bring him a present and he said no she wont shes a baby, and looked at me as though I had lost my marbles. He will still be looking for a present though.

I too have started to think about the major changes that are going to be, life is so simple now with one it is going to be a shock to the system when baby number two arrives.

Nbg · 03/02/2006 15:20

lol at your ds Trix

I've only bought Mat wear.

I'll be having a major shopping trip when we find out the sex especially if it's a boy.
We kept all dd clothes so if it's a girl we won't be short.

Don't really need much else. Just a new steriliser, bottles and I might invest in a good sling this time.

I've put on a pic of my scan if anyones interested

trix1 · 03/02/2006 15:44

where is the picture nbg?

trix1 · 03/02/2006 15:46

found it - cute. one of my picures yesterday baby looked at the screen and its a picture of a skeleton - I dont like that at all, in fact its a bit scary.

Nbg · 03/02/2006 15:47

I have one like that of dd at 20 weeks.

It is a bit strange isn't it.

pucca · 03/02/2006 15:53

Can you lot help me please?, i am getting confused again lol (its not hard to confuse me though!!)

Right my EDD is now 12th aug so how many weeks + days am i? every site i look at seems different, and it is doing my headin lol.

Nbg · 03/02/2006 15:54

You are 12+6 but some sites will just say 13 weeks.

Most people like to count the days as they pass.

aprilgirl · 03/02/2006 15:55

BigHotMama · 03/02/2006 16:49

This baby is my first and I keep having thoughts of how our life will change so much from being just me and hubby. I know our life will change and people say it's hard at first but I know I'm going to love being a mom. Cant imagine what it will feel like when having your 2nd, the present is such a lovely idea though.

How funny what your son said Trix1 LOL.

Can any of you remember what your life was like before baby no.1 and what has been the best and bad parts (if any?) .... I'm the unexperienced one here......

freddysays · 03/02/2006 16:58

I had thought about buying something. I still have my buggy from 1st but its a bit knackered lookign and so I thought I would be cool and get another. I really like the look of the bugaboo, I like the facing in feature I just think thats lovley for anew baby to see mum or dad when on long walks plus you can wheel it up to tables like a portable high chair, I had a look in a magazine...its bloody £599. HOW MUCH. I have seen loads of people round here with it. I am obviously in the wrong job!!!!

I cant justify it or afford it..how very dull.

I suppose i coudl look for a 2nd hand one but its a failry new thing so I bet that there arent many..
