i'm ready for this race hope im 1st xx

BigHotMama · 31/01/2006 13:36

Afternoon ladies, has anybody else been feeling like an old lady when you first get out of bed? It takes me a while to get my balance and straighten out my back, feels bit achy when i first get up! Maybe 9 hours sleep is too long me thinks.

NBG and Cheeps - good to hear news on your scans.

Olivo, I'd ring them again and just tell them your bit concerned, surely they can fit you in somewhere before 14 weeks? (my mate used to turn the waterworks on to get an appointment sooner)

kitegirl · 31/01/2006 13:39

Nbg so pleased about your scan, and even 2 days less to wait now according to your dates, wow! well done. it'll be so cool to read birth announcements in August, don't you think!

olivo you poor thing, what little I have learned about the lovely NHS is that you get nothing unless you yell and get a bit difficult. Lying also helps - how about inventing some complications and watch how you become a high priority... hope you get it sorted out.

Strike1 · 31/01/2006 13:45

Hi all, Excellent news Cheeps, you must be relieved. I keep being convinced it's all going wrong, then convinced it's all fine. I think the closer I get to the elusive 12 weeks the more nervous about making it I get! I know how frustrating getting a hospital scan appointment is Olivo, I got my date through this morning after weeks of phoning them. It's not until the 13th Feb when I'll be 13weeks, but it's closer than I was begining to think it'd be. I don't get to see a MW till 15weeks though and I have so many questions, still I'm trying to chill a bit at the momnet. I had a total flip out over the weekend cause I thought I saw blood (I didn't) but I'm worried about my mental state! So I'm trying to be all chilled, I might go to accupuncture to help, as I'll need all I can get.

Wish i could think about buying maternity gear, but I'm nothing but a bit podgy at the moment, no bump, can't wait till I get one. 10 +5

lunavix · 31/01/2006 14:09

trix what did they decide caused your headaches? The last four days I've had terrible migraines, and I've been dizzy, I'm worried that it could be something like dehydration due to the sickness. I'm not really losing weight though so it couldn't be too serious could it? I'm not hugely prone to them, I get maybe one migraine every two months but it's always a killer.

kitegirl · 31/01/2006 14:09

I want a proper bump too! as of this morning I really can't button my jeans except one pair (my 'fat day jeans'), have not bought any maternity clothes yet. A bit short-sighted as now cannot leave the house except in dh's clothes... 12 weeks on friday so only 6 months to go

lol Lockets!

Luna, it could be dehydration that is causing your headaches.
Can you keep liquids down? The easiest way to keep hydrated is to have a big bottle of water everyday and make sure you drink it all. That way you know you have had what you need IYKWIM.
I really hope you perk up soon.

Has anyone got their 20 week scan dates yet? I have mine on the 27th March, day after Mothers day . Will certainly take dd to that one.

aprilgirl · 31/01/2006 14:36

Nbg · 31/01/2006 14:48

I remember seeing one with dd and all he did was book a date for me to go back to book another date if I went overdue.

Have just made my next midwife appt, it's 23rd Feb at 2pm. Do you want that too?

aprilgirl · 31/01/2006 14:50

21st 3.20 for me!!! so you can keep your appointment!!!

Nbg · 31/01/2006 14:51

Oh that's ok then!

Must go now and look as though I have done some house work.

BigHotMama · 31/01/2006 15:12

Mine is booked for 23rd March at 1.40pm bring it on!

olivo · 31/01/2006 15:45

managed to speak to my gp this afternoon, who said the letter has gone off today, and the hospital will check the edd given and make sure the scan is at the right time. sorry for my mona earlier, i cant help panicking as i just want to check that everything is ok at this stage, and my half term holiday will be a disaster if I dont know by then!

Cant even blame it on the NHS as we dont have it here! Doctors are kind-of private and hospital is free.
thanks for your words of wisdom though everyone, much appreciated as usual!!

Absolutely shattered today, felt sick all day so going home to eat rubbish!!

Nbg · 31/01/2006 20:05

Glad you got it sorted Olivio.
You can moan away

Where are you anyway?

trix1 · 31/01/2006 22:12

Lunavix - the docs said the headaches could be from being dehydrated and from the pregesterone tablets Im taking.

Ive got a stinking one now so going to go to bed to sleep it off.

Ps - Im 12 weeks today

olivo · 01/02/2006 09:15

Morning all!! Feeling much better today after a reasonable nights sleep (only 4 wee trips! ) and only a short bout of retching and mild nausea this morning!!

nbg - I'm in Jersey so system is a bit different.

hope everyone else is feeling ok, congrats on 12 wks trix, i cant wait to get there, only a week and a bit to go!

trix1 · 01/02/2006 09:23

Cheers Olivio - it wont be long coming round for you. I woke up this moring and was retching and being sick again, this has not happened for a week or so now. It must be a good sign.

Ive got my booking in scan tomorrow.

Arabica · 01/02/2006 10:04

Hi everyone, I'm 14 wks today and last night for the first time in ages and ages, I had loads of energy and couldn't sleep. Didn't spend any time tidying up though. Stayed up late watching TV. Slightly nauseous this morning but nothing compared to how things used to be!

kitegirl · 01/02/2006 10:19

Olivo if your gp is my friend Ben Rogers I can have a stern word if you like!!!

all I want is a good night's sleep... all the way to 6.30am please... have been up since 3.45am and with a toddler it's no picnic.
