Boopert - loving the sound of that dressing-gown day! Could do with one of those myself!
Noodle - I was on the receiving end of that once, so I just pretended I was - saved the woman embarassment and got me a seat on the bus (where she had her bags). No harm done!
RuthLouise - you and your little one are in my thoughts and prayers. I guess the professionals can't afford to be too positive, as they have to stay objective, but your frame of mind has more influence than theirs anyway, so I'm glad you are coping so well with the uncertainty.
No joy with the airline - even though I am a frequent flyer! It was my Dad that passed away unexpectedly last night. It's a pretty big shock for us all (he was only 61 and just dropped dead at work) and of course I'm in London and all my folks are back in Australia.
The best Qantas would do was waive the booking restrictions on their cheap economy fare - tight so-and-sos. I tried to explain that I really need a bit of extra space, rather than necessarily the cheapest fare, but it was like talking to a brick wall. My best option (thankfully I have one) is to use 182,000 frequent flyer points to upgrade to business class (not such a bad idea, but hate to think how many flights I have done with them to earn those), but even then they can't guarantee a seat in business class until check in on the day! I just thought, is there anything they can do??? V annoyed and upset at their inflexibility, but at least there is a possibility I will be able to make the trip.
Apparently Singapore don't let you stopover if you are more than 24 weeks pg, so at least I am on the right side of that. I have to take a letter with my EDD, but I thought although my belly is big, it looks like I am just really fat, rather than pg, and if being pg doesn't actually get me anything special, why should I even tell them? Of course I will, but
Sorry for the rant (and such a long post!), there's no use going on about it, I know. Thanks for all your kind thoughts, and I meant to say last time - welcome to all the new joiners to the thread, and thanks to all of you who are regular contributors and keep the thread going.
