im 8 and a half sheets oh my god Blush

Boopert · 15/03/2006 14:03

Have no idea where i posted my last one. Am 9 and a half sheets. And nearly 20 weeks. Is that big? Or small??

preparingfor2 · 15/03/2006 14:24

Thanks everyone, I hadn't thought of Virgin - hopefully something will work out.

At the end of my roll and need to get more, so will keep you posted, but my bump is getting pretty big and is pushing my additional girth out with it so I look about 30 weeks rather than 20 - still doesn't get me a seat on the tube though!

BigHotMama · 15/03/2006 14:35

Boopert I've just lost one of my messages too? Took me ages to remember what i was going to say by the time I got to the end of this thread! Your measuring up same as me and I'm 20 weeks on Monday! Some say I look 6 months but I dont really care what others think about my bump, I'm sticking it out loud n proud! My Dh reckons I dont even look pg, says it looks like I've eaten all the pies,...its only cuz he's just lost 2 stone he's getting cocky ha! He's only half a stone heavier than me now so I'll be passing him soon enough!

Sorry about your loss PF2, where have you got to fly to? Hope you can get a bigger seat sorted cuz those flights are just sooo long!

RuthLouise I hope you get all clear soon, you must be going through it at the moment!

Lets just say my dreams have never been so wild n sexual, I'm talking full blown orgies here ha! Oh I do remember feeling kicks off bab in my dream too, woke up wondering if it had really happened?? Wink

Think it may be time to start a new thread soon girls as this one is getting so long, its taking me ages to post x

Boopert · 15/03/2006 14:39

Must admit i look bigger than i should. Still think my dates are wrong thou. Scan on Tues will confirm this or maybe he's a big big baby...(brought tears to my eyes just the thought of it....)

Hope all is ok with you all

noodlekitkat · 15/03/2006 15:00

Just asked lovely looking smiley woman when her baby was due - and she said she wasn't pregnant!

I am worried I have hurt her feelings... :-(

How embarrassing, has anyone else done this?

Boopert · 15/03/2006 15:02

My Sil gets this all the time. Shes used to it. I wouldnt worry. Poor love prob gets it a lot....

noodlekitkat · 15/03/2006 15:04

She was even wearing what I thought was a very stylish bump shirt. ...

:-(

Boopert · 15/03/2006 15:05

Opps Grin
More than she bargained for today....

noodlekitkat · 15/03/2006 15:07

Well I learned my lesson! Will only try to befriend ladies who are clearly about to give birth!

Blush
ruthlouise · 15/03/2006 15:55

pf2 - Sorry to hear about your bereavement. hope you have some success re airline seat - long hauls not much fun at the best of times let alone whilst expecting - Surely twins can swing a bit more sympathy from the airline staff - It is that bit more unusual / special.

Hmm, I'm 7 and a little bit sheets - Maybe we need some sort of standardisation here! Grin

Boopert · 15/03/2006 16:05

Hi Ruthlouise, how are you doing? Have been thinking of you.

ruthlouise · 15/03/2006 17:02

Hi Boobert - Well think I might be beginning to associate postings with various people - remember you as the lady with the walking stick Grin !
and Pupletiger I visualise with her leg dangling out the bed!
and noodlekitkat accosts unfortunate ladies in the street...LOL

  • did post a bit earlier today but its been busy on here today so its a loooooong way down! Apologies to those who read earlier post...Tbh I'm knackered Boobert! rough night last night with chesty cough and dd (nearly 20 months) also up most of night with it, hubby away 'til tomorrow night so hoping she'll have better night tonight. I'm not supposed to be lifting but its hard when your little one is poorly. I've been really careful but am bleeding more although I think this is due to strain from coughing. She went to childminders today but will be back any min now - am hoping she hasn't had sleep this pm!
And blooming consultant hasn't returned my call re 2nd opinion
purpleturtle · 15/03/2006 17:11
Blush I am still in my dressing gown!

Dd off school today because she puked twice yesterday evening. No need to go out and do anything, although dh took ds for a haircut, so i've finished my book and watched daytime TV. Dd thinks it's very funny that I won't have to get ready for bed tonight! Grin

Boopert - loving the sound of that dressing-gown day! Could do with one of those myself!

Noodle - I was on the receiving end of that once, so I just pretended I was - saved the woman embarassment and got me a seat on the bus (where she had her bags). No harm done!

RuthLouise - you and your little one are in my thoughts and prayers. I guess the professionals can't afford to be too positive, as they have to stay objective, but your frame of mind has more influence than theirs anyway, so I'm glad you are coping so well with the uncertainty.

No joy with the airline - even though I am a frequent flyer! It was my Dad that passed away unexpectedly last night. It's a pretty big shock for us all (he was only 61 and just dropped dead at work) and of course I'm in London and all my folks are back in Australia.

The best Qantas would do was waive the booking restrictions on their cheap economy fare - tight so-and-sos. I tried to explain that I really need a bit of extra space, rather than necessarily the cheapest fare, but it was like talking to a brick wall. My best option (thankfully I have one) is to use 182,000 frequent flyer points to upgrade to business class (not such a bad idea, but hate to think how many flights I have done with them to earn those), but even then they can't guarantee a seat in business class until check in on the day! I just thought, is there anything they can do??? V annoyed and upset at their inflexibility, but at least there is a possibility I will be able to make the trip.

Apparently Singapore don't let you stopover if you are more than 24 weeks pg, so at least I am on the right side of that. I have to take a letter with my EDD, but I thought although my belly is big, it looks like I am just really fat, rather than pg, and if being pg doesn't actually get me anything special, why should I even tell them? Of course I will, but Angry

Sorry for the rant (and such a long post!), there's no use going on about it, I know. Thanks for all your kind thoughts, and I meant to say last time - welcome to all the new joiners to the thread, and thanks to all of you who are regular contributors and keep the thread going.

Arabica · 15/03/2006 19:07

Sorry to hear that Qantas have been so crap, pfor2. At least you aren't flying at a peak time of year so hopefully they will have plenty of room. Are you going to spend some time in lovely Singapore? Went there when DS was a baby and it was really easy to travel around and the food was excellent!
Thinking of you Ruthlouise.

purpleturtle · 15/03/2006 19:11

So sorry about your dad, Pfor2. Sad Hope your journey isn't too uncomfortable

Eve2005 · 15/03/2006 19:47

i just checked and i'm 7 and a tiny bit sheets of loo roll.

sorry airline are being horrible pf2, hopefully it'll be pretty empty and you can get bumped up though.

jayjaybaby · 15/03/2006 20:09

pfor 2 like you need this stress on top of losing your dad you have my deepest sympaties
re staying in dressing gown all day i've been doing this for last few weeks as cant be bothered to get dressed unless going how sadSad
never thought about time saving bonus tho'
so is 8 and 1/2 sheets bad for 17wksBlush or am i bloater

purpleturtle · 15/03/2006 20:13

8 and 1/2 sheets of Andrex at 18 weeks + 4 here. Which would obviously be a lot more meaningful if I knew how many sheets of bog roll it took to measure my girth about 12 weeks ago! lol

OP posts:
Arabica · 15/03/2006 22:39

I'm afraid loo roll test purely unscientific, just a way to see how we're all growing...we can do it again in a couple of weeks!
Being kicked a lot this evening...it's great! Just what I need to reassure me.

kitegirl · 16/03/2006 05:40

oh good the loo roll tests - had forgotten about that! 8 sheets at 18+5.

god ruthlouise, really hope it will all end well. you must be so worried. keep us posted, we're all thinking of you.

got my scan next thursday, yayyayyay!!! and, today marks the launch of kitegirls organic vegetable garden. a trip to the garden centre and a bit of digging is on the agenda.

Omg
Why did I think you were carrying twins RL?
Blush Apologies for my stupid brain!

Never believed in pg brain but there is such a thing.
Went to physio yesterday and I couldn't even follow the simple instruction, bend backwards! Physio lady made me laugh by saying it was pg brains Grin

Ended up with crutches though so I really do look like a numpty now!

8 sheets of loo roll for me too and I'm 18+4 Grin
Got my scan a week on Monday! Very excited.

Sorry to hear about the loss in your family PF2. I haven't a clue about airlines but I hope you find out. Why not start a different thread and see if anyone else has any ideas?
