kitegirl · 10/03/2006 19:00

off to Portugal tomorrow morning for a few days, dh is going kitesurfing and I am going to, well, sit on the beach sulking wishing it could be me. and making sandcastles of course. better go pack.
good luck Nbg hopefully you'll hear back tomorrow from the agents!
catch up with you all on tuesday
remember those pelvic floor exercises.... breath in, squuueeeeeeeze.. Grin

Boopert · 10/03/2006 19:26

Haven't got the energy to squeeze today! Ds was up most of last night with cronic tummy ache, threw up in my bed at 1am then got back into his and cried some more....
Luckily did sleep in til 8:45am which is unheard of....... Either he ate a berry from our back garden or he had terrific trapped wind.....
Asleep now after a busy day.

Well boobs are now 34e, not sure where they came from, woke up and there they were!

Boopert · 10/03/2006 19:26

Oh, and can now see little man making ripples on my tummy!!!! Very exciting......Grin

eve2005 · 10/03/2006 19:58

oooo, that reminds me... yesterday when i was on the couch with dd she was poking my belly and saying be-be and the baby poked back, a proper sticky outy poke! Grin they kept up the poking war for five mins before getting bored. it was so funny seeing her face when she realised there was something there!

Boopert · 10/03/2006 20:04

Well got to go and sit on sofa so dh can see the prods and pokes! Getting jabbed lots today!!!

eve2005 · 10/03/2006 20:12

dp got a proper poke earlier, made his day!

i'm so exited even though i know in a few months i'm gonna be so sick of being pummeled from the inside out i'll be begging for it to come out!

Boopert · 10/03/2006 20:31

Well dh loved it. Can't wait for ds to see it! He has told everyone he's having a baby brother. Named him and everything. (Melman...)
Can't wait for it to do the internal rib tickling thing.....well maybe i can....

lunavix · 10/03/2006 21:30

Hi everyone! ruthlouise can I ask how they know what is going on with your baby? Just interested....

had a really crap day. Spent all of yesterday on the toilet (don't ask!) and woke up bleeding....

doc sent me to hospital to be scanned, but they only ended up checking for heartbeat, once they found that they told me it was too early to check for placenta etc as it won't be picked up on a scan till around 24 weeks... so they have no idea why I'm bleeding.
Apparently as long as there's a heartbeat they don't care either! Fab.

eve2005 · 10/03/2006 21:59

that's bs luna, they told me at my scan at 17 weeks last time that i had a low lying placenta, they could see it just fine. go in there and cause hell pet!

melsy · 11/03/2006 11:16

Any news NBG on the house hun? Poor you with all that stress.

Lunavix how you doing today so far, poor you still being sick (((hug)). So sorry about the worry with bleeding.

Boopert Ive seen little ripples to , its fab, but got kicked in groin yesterday inside , most unpleasant!

Thanks for all the sympathy girls , much needed. I went to doctors yesterday as my mummy ordered it lol (you wouldnt think I was 34 this year!!!)and he confirmed laryngitis, so not allowed to talk now for next few days and its really hard. Although when I do it barely a wisper anyway. My mum has been fab and picked me and dd up yesterday and looked after me at hers. Mil is going out with dh a and dd today , so might get in bath and then get into bed. I feel so drained from having one thing after another. make it all go , I just want to be preggy thats all, nothing else!!!

ruthlouise · 11/03/2006 12:35

Oh Lunavix - sorry to hear about your bleeding, I know how distressing it can be. I don't understand why you haven't got more info from the scan - they should be able to tell where the bleed site is located. I'm assuming its small and thats why they aren't worried. I don't want to scare you but do insist that they do a follow up scan to check whether its growing - You haven't said whether you've been told to rest / bedrest / carry on as normal. If its the latter, you def should be monitored.

We've got a lot of info from my scans (think I've had 5 now, plus early one). You need to ask questions though. I am lucky 'cos I have some medical knowledge(I'm an occupational therapist so I studied brain scans during my training and my degree was a shared learning one in which I trained alongside midwifes and medical imaging students. I realsed I had a sub-amnionic bleed and recognised the collapsed amnion before they said anything. I couldn't diagnose the finer details though like the blood in the amniotic fluid on the most recent scan. I also asked whether there was enough amniotic fluid as it looked insufficient and they agreed there wasn't. I found the sonographers very helpful and willing to answer most questions - except the answer I most wanted - likely prognosis - which I think no one can answer as a collapsed amnion is so rare and by rights this baby shouldn't have survived the effects of such a large haemorrhage. In every scan the bleed area has got larger (its now been 5 weeks).

With regards to your scan, i'd agree with eve2005 that they should have been able to give you a bit more info. I can only assume that its so small or in a non-compromising position and thats why they aren't concerned. Sub-chorionic bleeds are fairly common and usually resolve.

With my bleeding they could tell where it started - anterior top and placenta is posterior low. This puzzled them but now they are saying it is probably from the placenta but has been 'tracking round' somehow. now the whole area is awash they can't get any further info at the bleed site.
hths love Ruth

Jayjaybaby - no, I'm not on hospital bedrest - thank goodness - that really would drive me nutty! I'm at home bedresting as much as possible but needing short breaks for my sanity and wasting muscles _ also don't want a DVT! Occassionally lay on sofa and find the computer chair very comfy which is when I pop on the net. Wish I had more time for mumsnet - I think its fab since discovering it but despair as to how I'm going to remember who u all are - wish I'd joined at the start... If anyone's done a spider diagram, chart or similar.....I read through the latest postings quickly but aargh my pregnancy brain can't retain all the facts and gossip plus remember who said it!!

Nbg · 11/03/2006 12:52

Hey everyone.

Ruthlousie, you sound so relaxed about everything. It's good that they are giving you all that information and keeping you informed.

Luna, hope your feeling better.

I've got the midewife coming out this afternoon. I only called her to get some info about midwifery care in the area we'll be moving to. We got chating and I mentioned that I wasn't feeling any movement and what happened last Saturday and she said that she would call in and see me later on and have a listen in.
I can't believe how fab they are here, it's so different to when I had dd.

Still not heard about the house yet. I get the impression the estate agents are messing us about and I feel as though I want to rip out my guts and throw them at them. Cheeky sods. If they don't call me by 2pm they're going to get it. No one messes with a pg lady.
Fact of life!

Boopert · 11/03/2006 13:10

Nbg, i'm an estate agent and trust me, no one messes with a pg lady! All the lads at work are terrified of me! Fantastic......Grin

Luna, i would check that with your doc about the placenta as i have weekly checks and they've been picking it up since about 16weeks. MW did tell me that some docs and mws won't even try as it takes a bit longer to find. And my consultant heard it on Tues and he is a brilliant man. So kick up a bit.

Ruthlouise, sorry you still have nothing positive to go on but keep positive in yourself. I'm sure thats why baby has kept fighting. Will keep everything crossed for you.

Hope everyone else is fat and well.

Boopert · 11/03/2006 13:10

Soz ladies, meant to say FIT and well. Just cos i'm the size of a cruise ship......

ruthlouise · 11/03/2006 15:56

LOL Boopert - If I keep lying around, eating and not burning off any calories I will be FAT and unfit!

Nbg - Relaxed? - oh yes, like a swan gliding across the lake - calm on top but paddling like mad below the surface trying to give my baby the best chance despite the poor prognosis.

  • hope you feel more reassured once the midwife has been - that's very impressive getting a midwife on a Saturday afternoon - whereabouts do you live?
Boopert · 11/03/2006 17:13

Well dh has just bought ds a big bag of Haribo Strawbs. Poor thing hasn't got a chance with greedy mummy on the prowl... They are sooooo moreish...

Arabica · 11/03/2006 22:19

Hi everyone, Ruthlouise, am really hoping everything works out ok for you; & you too, Lunavix. Have had mega busy day attending to DS' social life. On Saturdays he does music then dancing class, followed by 1hr in the world's most freezing playground with friend from dancing class who thinks she's a dog (if you ask her a question she barks the answer). Then lunch followed by 2.5 more hours in effing freezing park with 4 more friends. When DH turned up I ran around the park (vv slowly indeed) and was still cold after one circuit so had to go again!

eve2005 · 12/03/2006 10:51

sounds like you had a long day arabica! thats the advantage of a child who's too young to have much interest in other kids,
if mommy's feeling fat and lazy we don't make it to the park, i just stand outside the flat and let her play on the huge grounds
we have in our apartment buildings and she doesn't know the differance! Blush mom of the year amn't i?

jayjaybaby · 12/03/2006 12:02

hi peeps
must say not much to report over the last two days still on a huge high after fantastic mw appt but im also anti d so got that t think about now has any else had the downs and spinabifida screening test am i being over worried at 24
been on such a high after hearing heartbeat mu hubby just keeps grinning had lots of people over the the last two weeks telling me im having a girl which is quite funny as there are so many boys in both our families i think its mostly wishfull thinking
got my detailed scan in three weks so hopefully will find out then sending lots of hugs out to ruthie lou and melsy and lunavix hug hug hug .

Nbg · 12/03/2006 14:08

Midwife was lovely. Had a listen in to the heartbeat. Found it straight away and commented again on how well I was growing.
Don't quite understand that?

The estate agents called and said that the vendors are considering our offer and will call with their decision on Monday. The agents said they will let us know if anyone has a viewing but they closed at 3pm yesterday and are closed today so I'm a bit more relaxed.
The thing that does pee me off is that we have also asked for them to take it off the market. The agents have said that it is very unheard of and that it is very unlikely they will do that. So they haven't even asked the vendors, just made the decision for them Angry
Our house went on the market yesterday so fingers crossed!

Boopert, I was going to say something about estate agents but I won't now Wink

Hope everyone is feeling well.

ruthlouise · 12/03/2006 14:45

Ngb - If they accept your offer, I think they should take it off the market but from my expeience, for what its worth, vendors won't usually do that unless the chain is completed - i.e either u have also sold your house or don't need to sell your house to complete sale. We once had a couple who wanted to buy our house but they hadn't sold theirs and tbh theirs wasn't going to be an easy sell at the price they were asking, so although we felt mean we wouldn't take ours off the market. Theirs was still up for sale long after we had completed.
Hope yours sells quickly - down here the market's still moving okay and prices still rising - Good luck.

Nbg · 12/03/2006 16:33

I can understand from a sellers POV but for us, we'll be on edge in case someone wants to go and see it and put in a bigger offer.
We've been through all that before and it's awful.
Fingers crossed, tomorrow will be a good day.

Forgot to mention that I have some work starting at the end of the month which is good as I haven't worked since xmas.
It'll be a 3 week murder trial and while I've said I'll do everyday, I think it will end up being too much. Early starts and late finishes. Plus it's soooo boring. I'll end up nodding off infront of the judge!

katylou25 · 12/03/2006 18:50

Well we finally sold our house this weekend so we're off househunting this week! Just nee dto find somewhere and move before August now - My friend loves to share her story of somone she works with giving birth in the back of a removal van - NOt happenign to me.
