How do you all keep up on here , doesnt take much to get me confused this pregnancy !!!

Hate to think Im not acknowldging everyone, even though I read every post, but Im finding it hard to remember who said wot Blush!!!!!!

Anywhooo voice is gradually coming back , but Im zapped and grumpy.

Arabica · 14/03/2006 22:31

Hi, re NCT, I did these with DS1 and they were a good way of meeting other parents-to-be: am still v close friends with 2 mums I met through the class. If you miss out on their antenatal classes, & just go to hospital ones, it's worth contacting the NCT for postnatal meet-ups.
Trix, am still not getting much movement either. Last week I got in a state and ended up at the hospital to be monitored--all was well and baby hiding behind placenta. That's probably where yours is!

Eve2005 · 14/03/2006 23:12

are any of the second timers planning on doing a refresher course this time? don't think i need to learn any more breathing but tempted to go just to meet some other moms.

Nbg · 14/03/2006 23:15

Arabica, when the MW came to see me on Saturday, she said the same thing.
I was like I know know Arabica said so Grin

Eve, I wasn't going to bother but if we move away I wouldn't mind going along to get to know a few people.

lunavix · 15/03/2006 09:19

Hi :) so sorry to everyone with spd and sciatia.. it sounds so awful :(

ruthlouise - the night before I started bleeding, my bowels erupted! (sorry if tmi!) ... maybe there's a link?

Yesterday my doctor said I had lovely low blood pressure but unfortunately it's too low.. hence fainting dizziness etc. So I'm not allowed to do much of anything for a while (the state of my house is simply horrendous!) We have people coming up this weeked (ds godparents, we haven't told them about this baby yet we want to tell them in person!) so I guess I need to pull my finger out and do some cleaning!

My bump erupted just as it did last time... I think it was sunday, and now it seems huge. To top it off my bum must have gone up three sizes too... although shockingly I'm still 5lb under what I was when I got pregnant...

So.. 17+4, -5lb, 20 week scan on the 29th...

ruthlouise · 15/03/2006 09:37

melsey I'm exactly the same trying to remember who said what. oO course, those who joined earlier have an advantage Wink, well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

purpletiger Oh yes the stairs experience - I know it well!! GrinI'm sure you're right re sacro-iliac problem - I had an SI joint injury many years ago and still have occassional pain if I agravate it - especially when gardening in our beloved veg plot! It objects to being stretched or me crouching. The dead / collapsing leg is a new phenomenom though.

Hope you're all managing to avoid the winter bugs (not likely if you've got other little ones). I've got a chesty cough which is freaking me out at times cos it makes the bleeding heavier and redder Sad. Chronic at night so not much sleep especially as dd also has it and dh is away. I've just ressurected my electric wrights vaporiser which I haven't used for a few years and sent a friend on a mercy mission to buy new fluid and blocks for us. Oooh, I do love that smell!

Regularly feeling baby move when lying in bed. Mixed emotions with this - half delighted and half fearful that as the baby gets stronger / bigger he'll rupture the amnion. 18 weeks today.

ruthlouise · 15/03/2006 09:46

Lunavix, sorry crossed posts! I think there's a link. The body often prepares itself that way in times of stress (physical as well as emotional) so I think it 'knew' something was wrong. its ongoing as is threatened miscarriage and not just normal pregnancy bloating/cramping.
My blood pressure is normally low but in pregnancy goes much lower - still this time, I think stress is helping keep it up a bit!!
Do try and resist the urge to blitz the house - not easy I know - mine is driving me nutty - give your body chance to heal from bleeding, that's more important. Apart from which, you can always celebrate sharing the good news by handing your guests a hoover and duster Grin

Nbg · 15/03/2006 09:49

Ruthlouise
Have they told you how big your babies are yet, in size?

ruthlouise · 15/03/2006 10:06

I'm only having the one Nbg! Scan measurements showed slightly bigger than average on first few scans but dropped to average on last scan.
At the moment, they aren't being very positive. All the consultant will say is 'it looks gloomy' thats why as this threatened miscarriage is now in its 6th week, I am asking for a second opinion/ referral. They take the attitude 'let nature take its course' Problem seems to be that a sub-amnionic bleed is rare and the collapsed amnion is extremely rare so I don't think they have the experience or hold out much hope. Sorry if I'm repeating myself - not sure what I posted previously here as I have also put quite a bit more detail in the 'pregnancy' forum. i think I'm just on a down at the moment. Our next scan is Monday but each scan seems to show a deterioration in the baby's environment - its all stacked against him/her. We don't know the sex yet as the baby is too cramped for them to see but he was still growing well at the last scan despite the odds. I had thought the bleeding was less and better but with this chesty cough I seem to have set it all off again Sad

Arabica · 15/03/2006 10:06

Hi everyone. 20 weeks today--half way there! Feels like been pg for at least 10 years.
I just clicked on the July club by mistake and they are measuring the size of their bumps with loo roll! Wrap it around the biggest part of your bump and see how many squares you need. I'm 7 and a half.

BigHotMama · 15/03/2006 10:43

Morning Ladies, hope your all ok!

Lol at NBG's confusement with twins and Ruth's post to Purpletiger? Does pregnancy kill brain cells as I've been getting very confused and forgetful at work! At least they cant tell me off if I make a mistake as got perfect excuse!

Arabica, just dashed off to loo to measure my bump and cant believe it its 9 n half sheets! Hence my name ha!

My antenatal classes are booked via the hospital and they do tour, video on birth, breathing excerises etc, I'm looking forward to meeting other moms-to-be as it must get lonely if you dont actually know anybody with babs.

JayJay, I am getting dreams of the opposite kind, bit embarassing actually, lets just say very dirty indeed! Blush

preparingfor2 · 15/03/2006 11:03

Hi everyone,

Haven't been on for ages, but I have been thinking of you all, and have just read through all the posts since my last one. There's a lot going on with you all. I'm anther one who can't keep up - nothing personal!

I'm 20+1 today - scan on Friday. I haven't seen my MW since my booking in - should I be making regular appointments to see her? They never said what needed to happen next, but everything has been okay for me so far.

Does anyone have any advice about dealing with airlines to get a better seat? Single traveller, 6'1", 20 weeks with twins, close family bereavement, 20+ hour flight at very short notice. I can't afford £3000 for business class, so hopefully they will have a heart.

Eve2005 · 15/03/2006 11:16

hi again preparingfor2, so sorry about the death in your family, afraid i'm no help when it comes to airlines, although i do know virgin gives the roomiest seats to people over a certain height who turn up early and request them so your in with a good chance if you try them.

i haven't bothered going for checkups either and i'm not even booked in yet! poor gp is always run off his feet and as i can feel little one moving strongly for weeks now i'm not as concerned as i was. was planning to have him take a listen when i took dd for mmr but she's been teething for last 2 weeks and theres no way i'm inflicting the jab on her too poor thing.

speaking of which, we bought her her first pair of 'proper' shoes yesterday Grin (and yes i cried) can't believe she's a little girl already, this time last year she was a helpless little baby.

arabica, i'm way too lazy right now to go up and play with loo roll Blush will tell you later when i muster the energy

lunavix · 15/03/2006 12:35

My bump is nearly 8 all the way round, or 3 and a bit just across the front....

lunavix · 15/03/2006 12:35

pf2 - sorry to hear of your loss...

Boopert · 15/03/2006 12:42

Ohhh i'll have to measure my bump in a mo. Is anyone else having weird dreams? And i mean weird....
And trouble sleeping. Sooo tired but as soon as i go to bed....bang! Eyes wide open, mind racing about things i'd forgotten to do....

Arabica · 15/03/2006 13:17

Hi pfor2, sorry to hear about the bereavement. Maybe try customer services for the airline once you have your ticket?
Am impressed with BHM's measurement!

Arabica · 15/03/2006 13:21

Pfor2, I have my scan on Fri and a consultant's appt the same day (if I hadn't had a previous C-section it would be a MW appt) but according to my antenatal notes they offer the next appt at 26wks. So, you should check when you go for your scan.
