Congratulations on all the lovely new babies, think we have 9 in total now Smile and one on the way tomorrow!

Old thread is here

See, I think boy bits are easier to deal with. Everything's just there with fewer creases and folds. I had this Blush moment at baby massage with dd where I could smell a bad smell, and after a bit of investigating, found some very old poo in a thigh crease! She was a chunky one, though!

With boys, you just learn that you need to keep the nappy over his willy until he's changed. Mind you, fast forward 5 years and I did have to check his balls because he said he could only feel one (they were both there!) That was a surprising job.

phlossie · 04/02/2012 15:53

Me too wicketkeeper. Would quite like baby to wait until after half term - or at least after ds's birthday on the 15th.

mistressploppy · 04/02/2012 16:40

Hello! Sorry for never being on the thread Blush, have been seduced by FB....we had a baby boy today, Peter; he was born in the early hours of this morning, 2 days before his due date . We're home now, left hosp at lunchtime.

Bloody hell, this one was in even more of a hurry than his brother Shock

Right, the whole saga...went to bed last night at 11ish, fine, normal. Woke at 12.30, had wee. Thought it weird to wake so early for my usual once-a-night wee, then had 'pain'. 3min later, another 'pain'...etc. Called BIL at 1.15am to come and sit with 2yo (asleep in bed, obv). Left house at 1.30am, got to hospital carpark, got out to lean on car for another contraction, waters popped (hurrah, not in our car!). Felt head crowning straight away - eek. Waddled to door of maternity unit and pressed buzzer at 1.40am, got in lift and John Wayned it to delivery room with half a head in my leggings....in delivery room for 60secs, leggings off, baby out, done, at 1.45am.

He's 8lbs 3oz with dark fluffy hair and pretty darn sleepy Grin

ZhenThereWereTwo · 04/02/2012 17:24

Congratulations mistressploppy, hope my birth is like yours, wow he was well and truly ready to make an entrance. Must be nice to be back with home comforts so quickly. Thanks

Think I am in the same stage as you Wicket, hopefully I will have a bathroom and kitchen by the end of next week, DD2 is welcome to come once they are done :)

Hahaha Esme, my DD saved up all her meconium poo for the paediatrician. He was checking her hip mobility, pushed her knees up and it went everywhere, his shirt and tie were covered Grin

hermionejgranger · 04/02/2012 17:42

Congratulations mistressploppy! So quick! I'm just completely worried about changing nappies full stop - i'm bound to not stick them down properly or something and I'm going to end up with a house, car and pram full of poo! Zhen - nice move by your dd!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 04/02/2012 18:07

DD skittered 7 feet up the wall when she was tiny! Waited till we had her nappy off before letting fly and unfortunately the jet hit my hand and accelerated up the wall. Niiiice.

phlossie · 05/02/2012 14:36

I have created a new stats thread here where we can put info about our new arrivals...

madeindevon2 · 05/02/2012 20:30

Congrats mistressploppy. What a quick one!!!! I'd love one like that :-)
38+1 and about to start last week at work before ml. Tired now so 5 more days will
be enough. Would be good to have half term with ds before baby arrives! Let's see....

mumsrthebest · 05/02/2012 22:41

Hi all, Congratulations to all the new Mummys and welcome to your new bundles of joy. I am 37+5, so not long now.
Have been frantically busy sorting out the nursery ready for my little girl to come along. We have had a huge clear out of all our junk in the house and the place feels so much better.
We have been attending our antenatal classes which have been brilliant and we looked around the maternity unit the other day. Ordered by TENS machine too so practiced that tonight. I have been listening to my natal hypnotherapy cd too. I feel prepared now...so come on baby, lets be seeing you.
Sorry for not posting very often. xx

babycarmen · 06/02/2012 09:09

Well its my due date today and i thought she'd be here by now! She will probably need dragged out stubborn little thing! :) No signs of labour what so ever. Youre supposed to get a burst of energy before labour, right? Well im moody as hell and just want to sleep! :(
So fed up!

40 weeks. wow.

McQueasy · 06/02/2012 10:08

Babycarmen, I know what u mean and I've not even got to my due date yet!!
Hope you are managing to get some rest. I'm up on the hour every hour peeing. It's exhausting!!! X

littlemonkeybix · 06/02/2012 11:05

BabyCarmen she'll be here soon... As soon as you turn your mind elsewhere, I reckn she'll pop out. It is possible that she actively WANTS to surprise you Wink

Good luck though... and to all mummies that are imminently popping!!

36 today

deardear · 06/02/2012 11:24

Don't think about her arriving - do something to take your mind off it and hopefully she will take you unawares (that sounds rude!) and pop out

ZhenThereWereTwo · 06/02/2012 12:03

Won't be long now BabyC, with DD I got so fed up with being heavily pregnant in the blistering June heat that I went for a 6 mile walk, that worked :)

littlemonkeybix · 06/02/2012 13:32

whoopsie Grin

Spotted someone's email in work titled "Monkey's card and pressie"

LAST DAY OF WORK TOMORROW!!! YAAAAAY

GrinGrinGrin

phlossie · 06/02/2012 13:34

I'm 39+1, BabyC, and I've had enough too! Sore ribs and the acid reflux/heartburn thing is just horrible! Not long now....

notcitrus · 06/02/2012 15:43

Had routine checks with the GP nurse today. Bp normal, only traces in urine, so I'm good to avoid hospital for another week!
Unless I go into labour, of course. :) 38+1 today.

I'm expecting my waters to break next weekend in the middle of the new Muppet Movie that we've promised to take ds to. He's been to the cinema once in his life, for a preschool trip before Christmas, and has been talking about the trailer ever since!

Congrats mistressploppy and sympathy babyC - I never got the burst of energy. Or just the feeling I ought to do stuff but no energy to do it...

phlossie · 06/02/2012 17:34

I'm expecting to go into labour in the small hours of Feb 15th, which is my ds's 6th birthday, so that we can't take him to do high ropes!

Glad all's ok with you notcitrus.

QueenFee · 06/02/2012 17:43

Hello :)

Sitting with my ankles crossed and feet up. Dh at his interview 4 hours away this baby will stay in till he is back. Actually since I am running a sling meet in the morning then tomorrow lunchtime would be a good time! Having strong bhs probably brought on by my 2mile school run gosh thats a long walk at 38+5, especially as its more of a waddle due to spd

littlemonkeybix · 06/02/2012 18:08

Aww keep us posted queen fingers crossed for hubby Wink

Right... off home from penultimate day at work!! WOOHOO!

Bring on Wednesday, when I shall be bag packing, watching the Wright Stuff and crappidy films... and generally HAVING MY FEET UP!

diedandgonetodevon · 07/02/2012 00:58

Eep! My section is today Shock. How did that happen?! Have to be at the hospital in 7hrs time. Obviously now I can't sleep.

QueenFee · 07/02/2012 03:31

Oh how exciting Devon. Hope all goes well!

Dh interview went ok. Hes just got to wait to hear if hes through to next stage.
However now hes back baby can now arrive when it likes!

littlemonkeybix · 07/02/2012 08:22

Oooh more babies!! good luck devon... keep us posted XxX

ZhenThereWereTwo · 07/02/2012 08:25

Good luck today Devon, not long now and you will have a yummy baby in your arms!

Glad to hear DH is back now QueenFee are you hoping the school run kicks things off then?

Got meeting with Supervisor of Midwives today to refuse cfm for my VBAC, meeting my mum at 11 who will go with me for back-up in case of attempted bullying by medical staff. :)

FundusCrispyPancake · 07/02/2012 09:12

Congratulations Ploppy, and good luck Devon!

Hope the midwives are sympathetic Zhen.

I am hoping to get the baby out asap as I have now developed SPD and waddle about moaning 'oh my crutch' all day, much to DH's amusement.

I have been steam cleaning the kitchen floor and wall tiles, could this be the famous 'nesting instinct'? .........

I think it is more likely utter boredom.

38+2
