We are all nearly there now!

phlossie · 13/02/2012 22:45

Congratulations Topaz! And lovely name, Innocent - well done! Thanks

I'm girt overdue. I thought the third time might be different, but hey ho! Baby is still under my ribs and giving me heartburn, so I think I'll be here for a while yet... x

louby86 · 13/02/2012 23:17

Congratulations topaz Grin

I'm 39+2 today, having pains on and off but every time I start to think 'this is it' they stop again!

Got my m&s dine in meal for tomorrow night and I'm really looking forward to it so tomorrow is probably the only day I'm hoping not to go into labour!

mumsrthebest · 13/02/2012 23:22

Thank you ZhenThereWereTwo the website it most helpful. I am worried about her being the wrong way but I am sure she will turn. Midwife does not seem to think it is a major issue.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 14/02/2012 04:42

If it's any consolation, DD was back to back and I was dreading a massively long labour. As it happened, I went from 4-10cm in 2 hours, so it's by no means definite!

I was hoping to have a peaceful day tomorrow (Tues - ie today now!) just mooching about the art gallery, having lunch out etc as its my birthday, but my waters broke at 11:30 last night and I've been admitted and won't be getting home till I've had my baby - yikes!

39+3

deardear · 14/02/2012 07:08

Aw daddy snuggles - that sounds so sweet IRH.

Good luck wicket! Keep us posted

hermionejgranger · 14/02/2012 09:17

Oh it's all sooo exciting about all the babies! Good luck today, wicket - hope baby doesn't keep you waiting around for too long!

And congratulations to Innocent - so happy for you after such a long wait!

MW appointment today - I'm not 40 weeks yet but wonder whether she will give me a sweep if I ask nicely? And if I wear nice pants and trim the garden will that decrease my chances?

Still itching here despite the oatmeal baths but with any luck it won't be much longer.

39+4

littlemonkeybix · 14/02/2012 10:17

Yay more babies Grin
Congrats and good lucks all round xx

Im undecided which is worse.... not sleeping properly... or getting good sleep then having difficulty getting off the bed. and i don't mean in a teenage way!

Sleeping much better at the mo... but my bump really hurts when i move. its like my belly is a big water balloon with a brick in. im trying to be gentle but then it pulls. so i try quick and that pulls. i need a hoist Sad

I can feel pip plop from one side to the other when i turn too.. uncomfyyyyy!!! And a little tender Shock

Im presuming this is "normal"

littlemonkeybix · 14/02/2012 10:18

37 + 1 sorry

ZhenThereWereTwo · 14/02/2012 10:33

Good luck Wicket :)

Chaos here, had to kick cowboy builder off the job as the work was electrically unsafe. Waiting for their boss to get here now.

Not sleeping well either with dead legs and uncomfortable bump. Off to see consultant at hospital soon.

All the stress might set me off!

mumsrthebest · 14/02/2012 11:46

Good luck Wicket x

littlemonkeybix · 14/02/2012 12:03

I want this baby to arrive NOW! Thursday is DD but I can't wait anymore. Getting way too impatient!

Good luck everyone. Keep the lovely announcements coming. X

McQueasy · 14/02/2012 17:17

Curry sex and bouncing in the yoga ball whilst drinking raspberry leaf tea tonight girlies!
If this works, I'll be happy. If it all goes wrong, I'll be having difficulty explaining what happened to a junior doctor in a+e Blush

babycarmen · 14/02/2012 19:26

My baby girl Halle Nevada was born on Sunday at 1,15pm, 8lbs 13oz :O (40+6)

Well i can officially say that walking lots starts labour! Walked a lot around town and Asda on Thursday and Friday. Friday night i noticed regular but not painful contractions, went to bed and woke up and noticed they were still there and a wee bit sore, was booked for sweep at hospital so went up to get checked in the afternoon and was 4cm. Went home, ended up going back to hospital at about 9pm with contractions 4-5 mins apart and getting quite sore. Got to hospital and STILL 4-5cm. Stayed in for the night, tried to sleep but couldnt at all even though contractions slowed a lot when i was lying down. Got checked over Sunday morning, still only 5cm. Went down to labour ward about 11am as was getting painful contractions. checked over at 12.30 and was still 5cm.. SIGH so they broke my waters. I started on the g&a and felt i needed to push straight away, mw didnt believe me! Anyway, half an hour later she was out! Was shocked at the size of her but shes amazing and beautiful :')

Shes starting to wake for a feed so il catch up tomorrow hopefully :)

QueenFee · 14/02/2012 22:04

Baby- i have a long walk tomorrow to get to hosp for my appointment with consultant so hope that works for me too! Love to read birth stories they are all so different huh?

39+6 come on baby!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 14/02/2012 23:27

Congratulations BabyC and welcome Halle Thanks, walking started me off last time around too :)

Not long everyone we are nearly there now!

McQueasy · 14/02/2012 23:43

Congrats babycarmen! What a beautiful name Grin

You'll all be pleased to know I made it through my induction trick night without needing a+e! Still not in labour though Confused

QueenFee · 16/02/2012 04:18

Had consultant appointment today. Had sweep and induction booked for mon night.
Problem is apparently a swab taken before christmas shows I have group b strep. Does anyone have any experience if this and iv anti bs in labour?

hermionejgranger · 16/02/2012 09:06

Mcqueasy I am impressed that you managed to stay out of a & e with your shenanigans! Might try a long walk myself today as due date is tomorrow...

McQueasy · 16/02/2012 09:12

Hey queen fee! Good luck with impeding induction!!
I personally have not had gbs but have seen plenty of women who have.
It is a normally harmless bacteria found in the gastrointestinal tract and doesn't usually cause any problems unless a person has a compromised immune system. Between 25-50%of women are thought to be carriers. It is easily treated with antibiotics but returns a day or so after treatment (which is why they wait till ur in labour). The antibiotics take about 4hours to work, so the earlier the better after labour starts
It can be very dangerous to a newborn born vaginally if it goes undetected so that's great news that they have picked it up.
The antibiotics are given through an IV either as a bolus or a short 20min infusion
If for whatever reason you don't manage to get them, they will risk assess the chances of baby becoming unwell and may chose to put an iv in the baby and give a couple of doses after birth.
You should be tested for gbs in Amy subsequent pregnancies you have

Hope that helps
Smile

McQueasy · 16/02/2012 09:14

Hg, I am soooooooooooo done with being pregnant! I would try ANYTHING!
I am the grumpiest cow, fat cow actually!! Grin

phlossie · 16/02/2012 09:34

Me too! Just overheard ds telling step-mil that I'm boring and that I fart a lot! Time to get the baby out, methinks. I having acupuncture this evening and have high hopes...

40+4

QueenFee · 16/02/2012 12:14

Ha mcqueasy there will be no more pregnancies ;)

I have spent the night researching it and I am happy to have anti bs although I feel I should be re tested as the swab was some time ago. Phoning mw in a min to see what they say.
