Congratulations Ray !!

well I've decided now... if im having a girl it should be march 8th as that's international women's day... Any other day means a boy... right?! Wink

Emz33 · 02/03/2012 13:32

Thanks for all the good luck messages over the past few days! Luke arrived safely after a very long and painful induced labour on 29 feb at 13.25 (a leapling!) weighing 9lbs 10 oz. He's beautiful and I'm totally in love with him! Grin am starting to forget about the labour already..!

littlemonkeybix · 03/03/2012 00:23

deardear · 03/03/2012 21:39

I had a leapling! Beautiful gorgeous Harry born 841am on a trolley in A and E resuss 5 mins after arriving at hospital and about one hour labour

littlemonkeybix · 04/03/2012 01:53

Aww brilliant news.. so jealous of all the little leaplings about!!

Well done deardear!

Im having a wobble tonight. getting birth fear big time... don't know how im gonna cope with my body going through all that... followed by being responsible for a person!! Shock

Honestly i do not know what's going on in my head

D-Day Monday... petrified!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 04/03/2012 16:05

Congratulations Emz and welcome to Luke Thanks

Welcome to Harry too, he kept you waiting then came in a rush deardear, A&E staff must have been :) to have a baby born on their shift. Congratulations Thanks

lilmonkey, trust yourself, it is a steep learning curve, but you and your body know what to do and it is more than worth it x

Ponyphysio · 04/03/2012 17:55

Hey monkey bix - I was the same as you (EDD 5/3, but all scan dates said he would be cooked 29/2) so I was mentally prepared last week.....but now I've gone past it, completely cacking myself. Have appt with consultant tomorrow and v worried bout the idea that I may be induced. But at the same time I'm worried about him growing too much more......

littlemonkeybix · 04/03/2012 20:06

Thanks guys... im trying to keep a grasp on it... but i have mega tearing fears... and been predictive measured for a 9lb7oz baby (give or take)

Had a major sob this morning... and felt better. just keeping calm now.

Sure I'll feel ok soon enough!!

Ponyphysio · 04/03/2012 20:54

The midwife at my health centre said something last week that made me feel better (its actually the ONLY thing she has said so far that I agreed with, apart from "I like yr top") .....she said having a baby is just one day out of your life, and what comes after is what counts. HTH x

hermionejgranger · 05/03/2012 03:36

Congratulations emz and deardear! Dh is secretly gutted that ds wasn't a leapling - now he has to do a birthday every year! Sorry about your wobble monkey... Try not to worry about it before you have to. You will be fine. If i can do it anyone can!

Emz33 · 05/03/2012 16:05

Littlemonkey don't worry about testing. Honestly Luke was 9lb 10oz and he came out without forceps or anything. Had small tear and a couple of stitches but honestly with everything that's going on you don't notice them going in and they don't bother me at all now. 5 days after he arrived and I feel pretty much normal (except for exhaustion!). Best of luck. You'll do great!! Grin

Emz33 · 05/03/2012 16:05

Er testing = tearing! Stupid iPhone.

hermionejgranger · 06/03/2012 04:39

Goodness emz - 9 lb 10? What a big boy!

Emz33 · 06/03/2012 11:02

Yep! A monster!

phlossie · 06/03/2012 16:38

Don't forget to come over to the post-natal thread when you've popped!

phlossie · 06/03/2012 16:39

Emz - my ds was 10lbs no forceps or stitches, and I recovered quicker with him than with either of my 8 pounders. Here's to big babes!

FundusCrispyPancake · 06/03/2012 19:33

Here's to little babies too!

My baby girl was born on March 3rd weighing 6lb 11oz Grin

ZhenThereWereTwo · 06/03/2012 20:19

Congratulations Fundus :)

littlemonkeybix · 07/03/2012 00:11

Congrats fundus

Well I've had an eventful day!!

Got up, brekkie, nodded off on couch. Woke up an hour later as phone ringing.... it was the hospital.
"can you come in within the hour? we need to scan you to ensure your placenta has lifted... if it hasn't we may have to organise a caesarian for you"

Bearing in mind im 40+1!!!!

20week scan showed placenta abutting cervix... They should have scanned me at 34 weeks!!!

Anyway... rushed around... got to hospital in twice the time it could usually take as dad drove me there.... and feckin dawdled big time.... i was livid.

Scan went well though. all good. Plus, the measurements today indicate currently pip is approx 8lb12.... So a bit less than the 9lb7 originally predicted by the consultant.. at my 35week growth scan!!! He didn't spot that they'd missed me for follow up.... my community mw noticed last week as im booked for a sweep tmw!

So im feeling lucky that a)no emergency c section today and b) they blood finally cheeked now rather ths panic me after i started labour!

Arseholes!!

Ponyphysio · 07/03/2012 11:43

Oh, how stressful - def not what you need!! Get back on that sofa and try for a bit more snoozing. I am being induced this afternoon, was gutted bout it yesterday but feel so tired and head-achey today that I actually now just want to get going with the whole thing. Hope things start happening for you soon!

littlemonkeybix · 07/03/2012 14:09

Aww good luck on induction.... that means BABY SOON!!!!

I've baked a cake this pm ti make up for yesterdays fiasco... will cut and buttercream after mw appt. its cooling on rack currently... Mmmm cake

ZhenThereWereTwo · 07/03/2012 16:22

Phew, what a cock up lilmonkey not what you need right now to be stressed out, although maybe the stress will bring on labour?! Failing that cake is always the answer to every problem Grin

Good luck with the induction Pony

hermionejgranger · 07/03/2012 23:51

Good luck with the induction, pony... New baby snuggles very soon!

I want some of monkey's cake...

littlemonkeybix · 08/03/2012 00:52

Cake is fabbooluss.... just thought you all needed to know this Wink

In other news... no labour... but had sweep. v uncomfy! Sad had a bit of blood after.

Anyway.. opening of cervix is 2cm... but internal opening is shut! Its obviously starting though. its moved to the front so that's promising!

Looks like another awake night on the sofa for me... harumph
