Wow! 3 babies since I was last here - congrats madeindevon2, Jeezimacasalinga and popcorn.

I'm still waiting... 6 days over. Have had a show and lost some waters, and I'm having very, very sporadic contractions. The children have been shipped off to Granny's, so I'm seriously hoping baby gets here before they get back tomorrow afternoon! The race is on.

deardear · 18/02/2012 16:52

What a lovely name and welcome Constance.

I am due next Saturday but in a fair it of pain with baby being so low down it really hurts low down in front of abdomen. Spent an hour last night googling cervical dilation and do it yourself sweeps. Still not sure whati can and can't feel up there but can def feel a head!

Very boy heavy on the bus so far 2:1 I think! Fingers crossed this wek there will be a baby boom

PDog · 18/02/2012 19:07

Congratulations jeez and Devon on your little girls - we need a few more on the bus Thanks.

That will teach you for wondering what to do next week Devon Wink

Let's hope so deardear, there is not much of February left!

McQueasy · 18/02/2012 20:37

Pom poms out for phlossie!!! Go baby go!!!!!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 18/02/2012 21:59

Congratulations madeindevon2, glad you got your VBAC. Welcome to Constance Thanks

Good luck Phlossie sounds like you are close :)

How did you manage to feel that deardear?

Have tried today, foot up on loo and all that, but couldn't feel anything. Feeling quite twingey and have been nesting all day. Am going to have a bath and relax now in the hope that she will chill out in there for a few more days yet.

hermionejgranger · 18/02/2012 23:54

Congratulations to devon and jeez! We need some more girls on the bus!

Been having some quite painful twinges this PM and evening but they seem to have eased off now. Good job too - the hospital is closed to visitors due to norovirus so would rather stay away until i absolutely have to go in!

V tired after manic cook-a-thon today. Freezer is now stocked ready for the first week dh is back at work after Bert arrives!

littlemonkeybix · 19/02/2012 01:14

Welcome to the new babies :-D

We finally put the moses basket up tonight... looks ace... still not real! Period pains all day and weeing in tiny amounts frequently

Hope everyone is well.. bedtime with gaviscon for me... night x

phlossie · 19/02/2012 10:03

My contractions stopped over night. Bah. Enjoyed a lie-in - in fact DH is still asleep so I'm going to go and sit on his head now. Bored, bored, bored... to the point that I'm actually craving the pain of labour!

41 weeks today!

McQueasy · 19/02/2012 13:01

Is sitting on dh head a way of bringing on labour? Not tried that yet!!!Grin

louby86 · 19/02/2012 19:55

Congratulations to the mummies of the two new babies that have arrived since I was last on here!

My little boy arrived at 2.20am on Friday 17th, weighing 6lbs 11.5oz. Quite an eventful labour but I'm coming to terms with it a bit better now I've spoken to a midwife quite a bit about it. Will keep checking back to hear the announcements!

Hi everyone, sorry I've been really quiet but was stuck in hospital for a while and not well still.

Tess Rebecca arrived on the 16th, which was lovely symmetry as I had a miscarriage on the 16th Feb last year. I was admitted on the night of the 13th/14th with a hind water leak and concern regarding a risk of cord prolapse. We waited for 36hours for spontaneous labour without success, and them there was a day of prostaglandin pessary (non-action) before going on to a synto drip. It worked brilliantly along with a fab epidural and after starting at 4am, I was pushing at 9am. The epidural had worn off just enough to allow me to feel the contractions and the sensation of Tess coming out. I pushed for 25mins apparently, although it didn't feel like anything like as long, and then just breathed her out. After a horrible birth last time, I really enjoyed it and feel like I've exorcised some demons.

Unfortunately I've been blighted with a dreadful post-epidural headache since which hits when I sit or stand. I had a procedure done on Friday to help it, which was initially v successful but things have worsened each day since and I'm struggling again. I persuaded them to let me home yesterday on the promise of resting ++ but a bit worried that it's continuing to worsen. It's making breastfeeding/nappies etc pretty difficult.

So a bit of Sad but mainly GrinGrinGrinGrin at my gorgeous girl!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 20/02/2012 21:08

:( Phlossie, baby will make an appearance soon, have you tried all the usual means of encouragement (sitting on DH's head aside, that is Grin)?

Congratulations louby and welcome Jackson Thanks, sorry you had a hard time, but hope you are enjoying newborn snuggles now x

Congratulations wicket, welcome Tess Thanks glad it all went well and that the 16th will now be a happy date for you. Hope they can do something more for you re: epidural side effects or that they wear off soon x

QueenFee · 20/02/2012 22:57

Louis Tom was born at 3am weighing 8lb 5 1/2. Hes gorgeous! Being kept in for 48hrs for monitoring because of grp b strep so I am enjoying a babymoon!

FundusCrispyPancake · 21/02/2012 10:20

Congratulations Louby Wicket and QueenFee ! Thanks

There aren't many of us left to go, is there - Phlossie, Zhen, McQueasy, Monkey, Hermione..... Who else?

How does sitting on DH's head help Phlossie ? I am willing to try any old wives' tale method to get this baby out but I've not heard of that one! Grin

40+1

McQueasy · 21/02/2012 11:05

Found phlossie contracting on another thread!!!
Much baby excitement Grin
Also much contraction jealousy Envy

mamasmissionimpossible · 21/02/2012 11:15

Hope I'm not too late to pop on here. I'm due on 25th February and getting increasingly impatient. I have lots of false contractions, but no baby yet. :(
Hoping it won't be too long, I'm tired and uncomfortable now.

Emz33 · 21/02/2012 11:55

I'm still hanging on in here too. Currently 40+5 Sad

Not that I've done this before, but baby really doesn't seem to be ready to meet mummy and daddy anytime soon. Sigh.

phlossie · 21/02/2012 13:58

Yay! Contractions a go-go! xxx

ZhenThereWereTwo · 21/02/2012 16:29

Congratulations QueenFee and welcome Louis Thanks

Excited for Phlossie :)

Not due until Monday 27th so only 39+1 today, baby is grinding deeper into my pelvis as we speak, but I reckon I have a few days to go yet. Probably when my kitchen and bathroom are sorted by the weekend I will relax enough to let things happen.

deardear · 21/02/2012 21:48

I am due any day. Been to see MW today. Was up all night with period pains so tired. Really thought things were getting oing. She did an integral for e and was shocked how low his head was down. However cervix is well up round back of his head but she could get her finger in and was soft. She thinks baby will be here soon.

Had trolley rage with an od woman t Aldi who pushed past me so gave her a telling off.

Pushing vibes to those in labour

hermionejgranger · 22/02/2012 07:38

Congratulations to all the new babies... Don't think I missed any but am now going looking for phlossie's pushing thread! :)

I'm now 40+5 and wishing Bert was a bit more keen to come and meet us. I'm alternating resting days with long walks in the hope that it encourages him! Starting to get a bit fed up now and sympathise with those more overdue than i am. No signs of labour really yet although have had a couple of episodes of shooting fanjo pains. Fx things start soon... Sweep booked for tomorrow!

40+5

McQueasy · 22/02/2012 09:07

Off to see the consultant today! Hoping for a good s+s and a date for induction.
Ready to cry :(
I was sooo sore and uncomfy last night. Not contractions, just a big baby kicking all my internal organs and trying to split my pelvis (or so it felt)
Hi HG!! hope things start moving for you soon.
Phlossie, what news??

Zhen, how are you getting on this fine morning?? X

herecomesthsun · 22/02/2012 09:20

Gwendoline was born on 15th Feb at 2.30pm by ELCS and weighed 3.575kg. She has lots of brown wavy hair and big blue eyes (may change though!!)

phlossie · 22/02/2012 09:32

Congrats herecomesthesun! What a lovely name xxx

So Caspar arrived last night! He was born at home 21.12 on the 21.02.2012! Weighing...... 10lbs 0.5oz!!!!

I started contracting at 6ish yesterday morning... had a show... By 3ish they were 3 mins apart... by 7.30pm they started to be really painful, so the (amazing) mw came. I'd lost my hindwaters. At 8ish I was about 4cm dilated. By 9ish contractions were 'piggybacking' so i started on the G&A - lush! The contractions were pretty hard to take by this point. Then I felt him crown - omg, the feeling of a 10 pounder crowning is off this planet! But thank god he came out in 3 pushes. My waters went pop and 5 mins later I had my little man! It was awesome - and can't say how amazing it is to be at home - everything was totaly calm and relaxed, and Caspar, Ads and I slept together in our bed until the bigger two woke up. They're really taken with their baby brother - esp Rufus xxxxx

ZhenThereWereTwo · 22/02/2012 09:41

Congratulations herecomesthesun and welcome Gwendoline Thanks
