Zhen, clarice BIG congratulations!!
Am getting nervous about induction.
Getting all sorted now, bag packed etc
Wish me luck!!! X

gonerogue · 26/02/2012 22:38

Hi All,

I was on this bus really early one but I completely lost trackofeverything.

Anyway Noah James was born on Tuesday 21st Feb 11 days late. I had to be induced but he wasn't tolerating the drip (heartbeat dipped as low as 50 and as high as 200 in one contraction) We then went to theatre for an EMCS and turns out he had the cord around his neck and torso.

Congrats to all of the ladies who have had their babies and hope the rest of you don't have much longer to wait. Grin

ZhenThereWereTwo · 26/02/2012 22:59

Congratulations Claricestar, what a lovely speedy birth :)

Congratulations gonerogue glad that they got Noah out safely, hope your recovery is going smoothly Thanks

Good luck McQueasy:)

hermionejgranger · 26/02/2012 23:20

Congratulations to clarice, rogue and zhen! Love hearing all the baby news :-D

Still in hospital with a haematoma that looks like a haemorrhoid in my stitches. This is why i don't let men near my parts. It fecking hurts. Nipples are shredded even though the midwife says I'm feeding right. Whose idea was this, anyway?! ;-)

FundusCrispyPancake · 27/02/2012 09:36

Congratulations Clarice , Rogue and Hermione Thanks

Good luck with your induction McQueasy , sorry I didn't manage to persuade your baby to come out! Wink

Midwife appointment for me tomorrow, she is planning to give me another sweep but I think I am going to beg to be sent for induction. At my last appointment I measured small and was sent up to the hospital for more scans. Everything was OK but I am starting to get a bit worried, so I would like to get this baby out asap!

AIBU to want a leap year baby too?

claricestar · 27/02/2012 09:55

thankyou! congratulations to everyone x

I had an induction with my first, pessary, ARM, syntocin drip...took about 30 hours, but had an epidural which was great. Try not to be too nervous. Although my second and third births were more "textbook" and quick, the first was still a good experience with my lovely DS as a reward! Good luck all those going for inductions x

babycarmen · 27/02/2012 14:31

Been so busy with my own little baby but thought id come say hello quickly! Congratulations to all the new babies!!! Thanks there cant be many left!

Halle is 15 days old now. Oh how time flies! We are in a bit of a routine (kinda..) and just getting to know each other still. DD1 is loving being a big sister and even wants to change poopy nappies Grin Im absolutely shattered but loving being a mum to 2 little girls!

deardear · 27/02/2012 17:06

Congrats zhen and clarice. Scary birth zhen!

Still waiting here. Had contractions all day yesterday again from 2am and had to breathe throu most of them hanging ver the kitchen sink, sofa, bed, bath etc. Guess what

No fecking baby yet!!! They went off around 9pm last night apart from two mahoosive ones.

Very cheesed off now. Hospital on Wednesday to see cinsultant who wants to book me in for induction at 40+ 2 but am going to refuse unless something wrong with baby. Have had one row with him already about foetal testing for downs etc so could be interesting. Will be on my own as DH at work.

DD1 peeing me off atm. She was supposed to go to either the gym or revision after school. Had text saying could her friend stop the night. I said big fat no as I am overdue and don't really want to be responsible for sorting someone elses DD out while I am in labour. So she says no revision and forgot her gym card can I pick her up at normal time. I refused as waiting on an important delivery of a new starter motor for the car so I can use it. Told her to come home with friend who brings them he Monday and Tuesday's to which she refused as she wanted her friend to come as well and I said she wasn't allowed friend if coming home as normal. Then she said friend couldn't go to her hoe as a gas leak and council had evacuated residents. Sorry but not my problem! They have walked home to do some revision but currently sat watching you tube. She is dropping major hints that friend and mum have to move out for 3 days while flats are bing sorted for the gas leak. I have told her we need to go to my mums before 6pm so drop friend off before then as its my brothers birthday. I am about to ring DH at work to get him to give her a rollicking - don't you just love rising 15 year olds!

PDog · 27/02/2012 18:29

Congratulations zhen, herminone, gone rogue, clarice and anyone else I have missed Thanks.

My dd2 was born on Friday, weighing 7lbs 11oz. Much easier than first time - about 10 hours from first pain and pushing very quick. Just home today as had problems with feeding and then had to wait on tests for jaundice. Tess Jean is beautiful but having 2 is knackering and I've only been home half a day. Already panicking about dh going back to work.

Good luck to all those still waiting or about to be induced.

mumsrthebest · 27/02/2012 20:55

Hi Ladies, my little baby girl was born 25th Feb 2012 at 03:01. I lost my mucus plug at 7am and my waters broke at 6pm, with no contractions. I telephoned the hospital and they told me to come in so the could check me over. They sent my home and told me to come back the next day at 12 noon so I could be induced. Unless, Obviously I started to have contractions and I would need to ring them again.
I took the 20 min journey home and by the time I arrived home I was having cntractions every 5 mins. I telephoned the hospital and they told me that the contractions seemed to be only every 30 seconds and they needed to be having them 3 times every 10 mins and lasting 1 min at a time. They started to come every 3 mins shortly after the phone call. We then drove back to the hospital.
The midwife checked me over and told me I was only 2cm dilated!!!!! She said that I could go home which I flatly refused or I could be put on a ward with 3 mother women and have pethadine but my husband had to go home and could return either in the morning or if labour is more progressed. I excepted ward option (annoyingly)!!!!!. This is no joke (still cant believe it now) in 6 mins I went from 2cm - 7cm!!! They were so intense I actually calapsed on the floor.
They got me on the bed and I was horrified at the amount of blood. They told me I was so far gone and I had dilated incredibly quickly hence the large amount of blood. I was too far gone for any pain relief and I had gas and air. 1 hour 20 mins later she was born. I needed 1 stitch!
Although, it was short, sharp and scary she was worth every contraction.

mumsrthebest · 27/02/2012 20:57

MW said it was a rare labour especially for a first time mother.

mamasmissionimpossible · 27/02/2012 21:23

just popping on to announce the arrival of my ds2 Jude William born on 24th february. He was 8lbs 13 oz and just perfect. The labour was an awful 26 hours, with a failed epidural. Very painful and exhausting. He was worth it though and thankfully I have forgotten the pain already.

Well done all the February mums and babies.

littlemonkeybix · 28/02/2012 00:56

Wow... how many babies ?!

Congratulations to all Grin

Original D-Day has been and gone now... scan D-Day is march 5th... still hoping for a leapling!!!

Not much else to report other than bored of crappy hands, fat feet and inability to sleep Sad

Hi all, Thomas John was born on the 22nd at 9 50pm weighing 8lb 7oz. Quick Labour but never again. 3 dc is enough. It is very hard work with a 20 month old to look after but am sure it wil get easier as time goes on.
