1,000 posts into the very popular September 2012 thread, here's a new one, for knicker checking, boob prodding, toilet rushing, oh and eating the entire contents of the fridge or McDonalds

Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

Full steam ahead to booking in and positive scans aplenty.

OP posts:

I can't sleep. Had an hour sleep, been awake since 0.45 and have to be up for work at 5.30am and work until 4pm. Great. Hmm

Usually sudoku will make me tired, but not tonight and I'm all Angry Birded out. Maybe some more reading will help. Ho hum.

crowette · 29/01/2012 03:07

And now I'm hungry. Damn it.

Macaroons · 29/01/2012 06:56

Argh I am having sleeping issue too. Both sat and sun morning I wanted to pee at 6am and couldn't get back to sleep!!' very annoyed as i would love to have a lie in till 9 when I don't have to work!Angry

Btw thankfully no bleeding after yesterday's bedroom activity Wink

ballroomblitz · 29/01/2012 09:00

Good news Macaroons. I've been the same, awake at 6.30 to pee and that's me up because I couldn't get back to sleep.

Oh angry birds crowette. Flaming addictive that game. My ds is constantly wanting my phone to play it.

Went for dinner last night and had starter, main and dessert. So not like me and I still wasn't full after.

After all the sex talk yesterday my shoulder was feeling considerably better yesterday and the deed was done. You would have thought all dp's Christmases had come at once when I greeted him at the door with my intentions :)

So it's a case of gutting my house today and then I'm going clothes shopping. Really need to get some new bras as I'm busting out of half of them. Need some new jumpers too although I'm loathe to buy things I won't fit into much longer. Knowing me I'll end up just buying clothes for ds.

Have a lovely, event-free Sunday everyone

Dorita75 · 29/01/2012 09:27

Hope the insomniacs got to sleep...

Have fun shopping ballroom!

floydie I had really.itchy shins last week, stopped now and think moisturising helped

threefortea I bought my wristbands last Monday and if any one takes them off me I fear I will kill cry. They are working wonders and I've felt almost normal Smile Cannot recommend them enough!

york67 · 29/01/2012 09:28

sassle I am the same re boobs and back. So reassurring and yet so uncomfortable.
Sleeping is a big issue for me too. Waking up at random time needing the loo. Having lots of dreams/nightmares too. Not good.

ballroomblitz · 29/01/2012 09:47

Bizarre dreams myself york. Woke up this morning and the way one of the pillows were sitting I thought it was the hood of the grim reaper fgs. Creeped me right out after the dreams I'd been having. True I had been reading Chuck Palahniuk's Damned before I went to sleep. Maybe best to lay off those sort of books before bedtime.

CluelessMama · 29/01/2012 10:42

Hello all!!
I've been lurking on here for about 10 days since BFP, but still trying to convince myself it's all real so have had to psych myself up to announce my presence!! Think I'm 5+6, due 25th September if I've figured out the maths correctly. DP and I were TTC, but it seems to have happened at the first attempt so to speak, so is still a bit of a surprise, but a lovely one!!
I've always held the opinion that I didn't need to know much about pregnancy/birth/babies until I was actually up the duff, I was scared that I might find out too much that would put me off. It was a good policy for a while, but now I'm a bit clueless and on a very steep learning curve. Following your messages on here has been an absolute godsend!! I didn't realise I would start to feel changes in my body so soon, the bean is still so tiny, so it's been great to read that others are having similar expereinces. Only DP and I know at the moment, think we'd like to keep it that way a bit longer if we can, so online advice is replacing real life chat for now. And while reading about others losses really makes me appreciate the fragile-ness of such a little bean, and fingers and toes still have to be crossed, it's nice to also acknowledge that this just might stick and be the start of the biggest adventure ever. Shock
I've just changed doctors, so have a 'new patient' appointment with a nurse on Tuesday which will be the first of me telling anyone medical about my pregnancy and may well get things rolling re MWs etc. Between that, getting a couple of books of Amazon yesterday to do some reading up on pregnancy, and joining you on here, I'm starting to acknowledge this is real. Wow!! Grin

Tooodlepip · 29/01/2012 13:12

Hi

I have also been lurking, haven't really come to terms with the fact that I am now 6+5 weeks. This will be my third, but with a 5 year gap, actually almost 6 years, and my other two were planned. I think I'm going to have to actually move of my sofa today and go get some sea bands for all my "travel sickness" its just constant, no vomiting though, and it gets worse at night, it actually woke me out of my sleep last night.

my breasts are like boulders, suppose some new bras are in order too, do you think I should get maternity ones, I usually wear underwired and the maternity ones aren't but they might have more growing room in them, I'm already big on top, they ache so much.

Hope I start to get more excited when I go to the scan at 12 weeks.

Anyway hope all the other ladies are getting on alright today, does anyone else feel like we are going to have the longest pregnancies in history...

I'm due 19th Sep

WeeNurse27 · 29/01/2012 13:45

Hiya folks, hope u are all having a lovely Sunday Smile

I'm 6+6 weeks and the nausea and vomiting hit big Style yesterday! I'm a nurse and nightshift last night and tonight isn't helping Sad
Had a look through the posts and have gone onto amazon and bought myself the seaband wristbands, fingers crossed they work for me as well as they have for some of you, willing to try anything! Confused Who would've thought early pregnancy would have such an effect, this first time mum to be certainly didn't :-)

Well off back to sleep now, hope u are all keeping as well as can be......roll on 12 weeks :-) xx

sasslejaney84 · 29/01/2012 14:10

york I don't think you are the only one!! My dreams have ranged from being in a buscuit factory (I don't know why!) To dreaming the baby was a cupcake and I had to try and stop everyone from eating it!!

clueless and toodle congratulations!! I'm 9 weeks and its hard isn't it?? Just gottaa remind you that we will be ok and it will be woorth it!!

Good luck to all the newcommers!

flipflopper · 29/01/2012 15:28

Hi to the new people!
I am still feeling so sick, it is awful, it's all day long, slightly worse in a morning, the only thing that makes it better is eating, so I am tyring to eat little and often, it's awful trying to eat when you feel sick! Unofrtunately the only things I feel like eating are unhealthy things, so hope I dont put too much weight on!
WeeNurse27 how are you managing at work? I am a home carer and I am finding things like getting people washed, etc very difficult trying to stop myself being sick!

I might get myself some sea bands, only I dont want to be explaining to people why I am wearing them, I'm sure people would guess!

Going to see my GP this week, I didnt want to do it too early, but DH is nagging!

ThreeForTea · 29/01/2012 16:03

So i'm rather impressed with my sea bands now, had a nice day shopping with my mum, even when I woke up and put them on felt fine straight away. Ate lunch in westfield, carried on fine afterwards, barely anything :)

Feel the same dorita don't fancy being without it now though!

Have been wearing long sleeves though so no one has really had a chance to see them really. Figured I could make something up, lying enough as it is!

Have to say though £8.15 is quite a mark up though (couldn't wait for delivery, groo) specially for a product that looks like it might have been given away for free in a happy meal in 1990!

Dorita75 · 29/01/2012 17:02

Yes threefortea I only paid £8.16 from Boots because I was desperate! Went online when I went home and their on Amazon for about £2!!

ballroomblitz · 29/01/2012 17:15

Waves hello and congrats to the new folk.

What about a sports bra toddles? I've heard they are good for support during pregnancy and there's no underwiring in them. I personally always snip and pull the underwiring out of bras but I'm small chested anyway.

WeeNurse27 · 29/01/2012 17:56

Flip - ive been ok, I work in a children's ward so not so bad. Only problem is trying to keep my secret tho, when having to take kids for x-rays, and working with different infectious diseases and stuff. Just had to be sneaky Wink

I got my seabands for a fiver off of amazon, hope thy are the right ones I got! They seemed to get good reviews! Won't be able to wear them at work right enough, but I will any other time I can Smile

Xx

EastBeast · 29/01/2012 18:47

Hi ladies, and welcome to the newbies. Hoping you've all had a relaxing weekend and have enough symptoms to feel happy without feeling too ill!

Quick question - does anyone have a recommendation for places for private scans in London?

Feeling a bit stressed as I'm 8+1 now and have another 4 weeks to wait until my 1st NHS scan. I've also just been offered an interview for a job I would LOVE and applied for before I knew I was pg, but it really doesn't make sense if the baby works out as it's only a 2yr FTC and I'd be missing for a year and then want to go back part-time...

So basically I want to have an early scan to check there's something in there before I reject the interview offer :( It feels all a bit back-to-front and I'm suddenly really worried the bean won't be there or sth. Just cried on DH - I do think women get a raw deal, he's convinced the interview panel wouldn't offer me the job anyway as I already told them I'm pg. Oh poo. But I wouldn't have felt comfortable lying about it.

Hugs to all - it's times like this I really want to tell my girlfriends! Sorry for the winge...

sasslejaney84 · 29/01/2012 19:09

east beast I've been doing the exact same thing!! I've been panicking that when I go for my scan there won't be anything there or something along those lines!

holls2000 · 29/01/2012 19:30

Aaaargh - feeling so guilty. Am exhausted despite sleeping on an off through the weekend, bleeding has stopped with rest and the thought of work fills me with dread. I work in a tiny school (and I LOVE my job) but I spend a lot of the day running round and hopping from one place to the next which I am not sure is helping. If I dont go in, my colleagues will be put upon which isn't really fair and I feel bad.

Whatever I do, I feel guilty. Bah.

york67 · 29/01/2012 19:39

Welcome new ladies.
It's weird about the dreams.
TMI but has anyone had reverse of consipation? Not sure if I have a tummy bug or just another pregnancy syptom. Hope it's not a bug.

holls2000 · 29/01/2012 20:03

york67 oh yes, I go from constipation to having to run to the loo!! Good fun, isn't it......:-(

sasslejaney84 · 29/01/2012 20:10

*holls take the time off!! You quite clearly need it!! Have you found out if the local hospital has an early pregnancy unit?? (Don't know if anyone has suggested this to you previously or not?) And see if you can go for a scan. I'm seeing my midwife on weds so I'm hoping to find out the same (I had some post coital bleeding, or at least that's what I've put down to, due to the NHS direct lady telling me that's what it probably was)

I hope you get sorted hun!

york I've not had that (wish I had, it might get rid of my, at least 3 month, bump!!!)

holls2000 · 29/01/2012 20:13

Yup, hospital has an EPU, going in there on Fri for scan, but might call tomorrow and see if I can go in tomorrow instead! Have started feeling very queasy tonight and appetite has gone on strike; hopefully all these pg symptoms mean that the Bean is making itself comfy. I am absolutely drained. It's not like me at all. I'm normally like Tigger!!

sasslejaney84 · 29/01/2012 20:27

holls here's hoping! It might be an idea, just explain that you are experiencing bleeding still and are very concerned and hopefully they will try and cram you in!! Good luck!

OutMeAndDie · 29/01/2012 20:49
