1,000 posts into the very popular September 2012 thread, here's a new one, for knicker checking, boob prodding, toilet rushing, oh and eating the entire contents of the fridge or McDonalds

Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

Full steam ahead to booking in and positive scans aplenty.

Off work. Feel horrendously guilty about it. Am absolutely exhausted and really want to speak to/see midwife. Hate having no control over my body.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 30/01/2012 08:18

Hi all, hope you all had good weekends.

Had a bit of blood this morning when I wiped. Was reddish, not bright red and not loads but enough to totally freak me out. Just waiting for my train and then will be straight on the loo when I get in the office. No cramps but so worried now. Sad

ThreeForTea · 30/01/2012 08:23

:( ethelred hope there's no more.

Macaroons · 30/01/2012 08:45

etheired & holls hope the bleeding is gonna stop soon and hope you get to speak to MW / GP to understand what's going on. Fingers crosses for your little beans!

It's the third night in a row that I woke up in the middle of the night to pee. Very annoyed as I couldn't get back to sleep for a while and am now very sleepy but sill have to drag myself to work. I will restrain myself from drinking water 2 hrs before bed time and hope this is gonna stop soon!

On the way to work now, thinking about a sausage and egg muffin Blush

holls2000 · 30/01/2012 09:16

Thanks macaroon bleeding has stopped with rest, though terrifies me that that means it'll start again as soon as I start moving again. Just so tired. Off to sleep again having sent through cover work and stuff. Then will ring MW.

Just feel so unlike me. I don't like it!

OutMeAndDie · 30/01/2012 09:47

Thinking of you etheired and holls

FloydieDoydie · 30/01/2012 09:53

sasslejaney84 · 30/01/2012 10:05

york67 · 30/01/2012 10:27

Littlecherublegs · 30/01/2012 10:38

Just thought I'd check in on this brand spanking new thread! Smile

Im 7+1 weeks and am eating like a horse!! Was craving a fry up yesterday so swiftly got taken out by DH to the local cafe and filled my boots!! Still indulging in the crisps too... and the biscuits... and the chocolate...

Am having the weirdest most vivid - and sexually explicit?! - dreams too!! What is that about??!! I felt really embarrassed waking up this morning!! Blush

Anyway, best wishes to those who are waiting on news, knicker watching like crazy, stressing in any way etc etc. Hope all works out ok. Big hugs, xx

TinkerMaloo · 30/01/2012 11:22

Happy Monday everyone!

Welcome new ladies :)

I could sleep for a week! DD decided that 5 was a great time to get up this morning after waking up at 1am crying and not able to settle so tossed and turned in with us all night... thanks for that!

Are you always freezing? I dont remember always being so cold with my previous 2 pregnancies

To everyone talking about dreams, Im right there with you too, having the most mental dreams that seem to go on all night. I dont remember the dreams kicking in this soon with my others either.

It seems I have forgotten everything about pregnancy lol

OutMeAndDie · 30/01/2012 11:38

tinker i'm soooooo cold when pregnant.

york67 · 30/01/2012 11:38

Me too Tinker. After a six year gap I feel like its a brand new experience. Yes, I have been more cold recently and yes to dreams too. Quite scary.

holls2000 · 30/01/2012 11:48

Oh the cold thing - i've been freezing!! Glad I'm not the only one.

Spoke to mw this morning. She was lovely. Said bleeding sounds like implantation bleeds and totally normal and to take it easy until scan on fri but that I sound normal.

Although I have now decided that normal doesn't really exist!!!!

LittleSpade · 30/01/2012 11:58

Totally with you TinkerMaloo, OutMeAndDie, York67 and holls2000! So glad i'm not the only one. Although the situation is not helped by us now having run out of heating oil.

Can't remember who said it over the weekend but I'm also having to look at buying new bras already at 7+4.

Fx for those having problems.

crowette · 30/01/2012 12:03

Cold? I've never been so hot!! I have to have the heater in the bedroom turned off and the cover thrown off.

I think I worked too hard yesterday, my job is quite physical and I ended up kneeling on the floor to reach to the back of shelves too much and feel like I pulled something. Got a telling off from OH!

I went to bed at 9pm last night, slept through til 6.45am when OH's alarm went off, then stayed in bed until 9.30am. Got the day off and spending it in my PJs on the sofa, as I'm still feeling tired and not quite right. The hunger has kicked in though - I've had a banana, packet of crisps and nearly a box of those cadbury festive friends biscuits left over from xmas and I'm still hungry. I've just remembered I have some fish fingers in the freezer, so am going to do a fish finger sandwich for lunch.

I do not remember my boobs hurting or swelling this much with my two DDs, nor the bad disgestive problems, although that seems to have eased up now, not so much wind but more trips to the toilet Blush maybe something to do with actimel and peppermint tea or just improving naturally?

Glad you've spoken to the midwife Holls, hope she's right!

Fingers crossed everything is ok for Ethelred

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 30/01/2012 12:07

Well since that initial bit of blood seems to have stopped and just a tiny bit of brown now but rang MW and she's booked me in for early scan on Thursday morn. Fingers crossed there's no more.

WaitingForLittleR · 30/01/2012 12:37

Just catching up as I hadnt checked in since sat - sorry to hear that some of you have had a scary weekend - will be keeping fingers crossed for you, let us know how you get on.

EastBeast you were asking about scans on here. I went to the fetal medicine centre on harley st last time I was pg and found them very nice - www.fetalmedicine.com/fmc/contact/ it cost £100. I'm going again tomorrow morning, at 9+4. I've heard other people mention on here getting them cheaper, but not in London. This place was recommended and I didn't really look for cheaper but saw some other places in London were similar.

One symptom noone has mentioned - does anyone else have rubbish skin since they got pg? I mean it makes sense I guess with hormones etc, and my skin isn't great normally, but I look like a 15 year old at the moment :(

ThreeForTea · 30/01/2012 12:39

holls and tinker I keep having hot and cold flushes so i don't know what that makes me apart from better prepared for 'the change' down the line!

There is definitly no such thing as normal for a pregnancy! I wish i had known that last time though!

Question for the day: would you eat a runny egg with a lion samonella vacinated mark on the shell?

holls2000 · 30/01/2012 12:49

Oh yeah, I'm cold in the evening and then hot when I get into bed (and not in a sexy sort of way....eeew).

Am snuggled up on sofa watching the final season of West Wing and then I am going to do as the MW said and take myself out for something to eat and read my book!!

Macaroons · 30/01/2012 12:55

eastbeast and waiting I had a private scan at their canary wharf branch a week or so ago and it costed 75 quid. myultrababy.com/ they also have a west London and north London branch. the sonographer pointed us to the heartbeats, measured the bean to be 6mm and dated my bean to be 6+3. My NHS scan is not till late feb and because I'll be going away I really needed the reassurance it's not ectopic. I think it's worth spending 75 quid for peace of mind.

lurkingmurking · 30/01/2012 12:56

I'm freezing too! What is that all about?

Welcome newbies!

threefortea are you in West London? I lived in Westfield when DS was tiny - it's set up so brilliantly for wandering around! Also yes I would eat a runny egg!

eastbeast try BabyBond - they have a few places around London.

My skin is gross atm and I now have a coldsore - sexy!!

Macaroons · 30/01/2012 13:04

threefortea I've eaten a few poached egg / soft boiled eggs in the past few weeks as the pocket bible I had said its fine so long as the egg white has turned white. But if you think you are gonna worry about it afterwards then you best not have it runny Wink

ThreeForTea · 30/01/2012 13:24

I don't feel guilty, I just do a little head calculations of the risk of salmonella, judge it to be relativly low and eat them accordingly. I just see a lot of shock from people about it when I do. I also know that my mum had salmonella when she was four months pg with my bro, from spanish water, and while it was horrid it wasn't really life threatening for either of them. Apart from that I have heard of one person in my whole life before contracting salmonella, and that is someone who ate a raw farm egg everyday, blughh. I think the med professionals could do a better job of contextualising their advice so that you can generally make a more informed decision rather than making everything a 'NoNo' and you an evil parent for doing it!

lurking My parents live in W London, i'm about an hour away but I am there quite a lot to hand them dd, run upstairs and crash out for a rest to see them :) I am very Envy that they opened it two years after I moved out of london. Where I live the shops are closed by 5.30pm :(

sasslejaney84 · 30/01/2012 13:47

I'm cold and hot too! I keep having like flushes!

Plus today, I've been very shakey! I've eaten so its not that, just hope it has nothing to do with this cold I've had for over a week now :-( bloody annoying but suppose its all part of the fun! Wonder if its to do with MS??
