1,000 posts into the very popular September 2012 thread, here's a new one, for knicker checking, boob prodding, toilet rushing, oh and eating the entire contents of the fridge or McDonalds

Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

Full steam ahead to booking in and positive scans aplenty.

Great to hear more good scan result, don't worry too much misscoffee it didn't work last time doesn't mean it won't work this time!

twizzle and any one else wondering, here's a stats list to find your due day buddy! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1393153-September-2012-stats-thread

Macaroons · 01/03/2012 07:58

Forgot to say: good luck to those with upcoming scan!Wink

rightontime · 01/03/2012 10:13

Gonna need a new thread soon again Shock any ideas for titles?

I was thinking something along the lines of having scans and making plans but not sure if it will be fitting for a new thread?

Whatevertheweather · 01/03/2012 10:17

Hope your scan goes well today MissCoffee like you I know only too well that a good 12 week scan is no guarantee of a baby but it is the first hurdle so fx for both of us. Mine's at 11.30am so am drinking water like mad to make sure I have a full bladder Smile

Loup23 · 01/03/2012 10:56

Popping in to wish luck to whatever and misscoffee hope you both have great scan news today.

Twizzle I'm an EDD buddy with 1st Sept!

Congratulations on your scans ballroom and pgreen, great to see more positive scan news!

I had a bit of a wobble this morning (13+5) just suddenly worried that something has happened to the bean as don't "feel" pregnant. Have the 15/16 week appt with MW a week on Monday so focusing on that and hoping she'll whip a doppler out....

Hope everyone else is doing well x

Loup23 · 01/03/2012 10:56

Oh congratulations flipflopper too, that's so sweet about your dd!

elliemay80 · 01/03/2012 12:46

Loup I'm 13+2 and feel the same way. My sickness has subsided so I don't have that to remind me I'm pregnant and my '16 week' appointment is over a month away! This is gonna be a real limbo time.

Good luck to MissCoffee and Whatever.

TinkerMaloo · 01/03/2012 13:20

Good luck with todays scans! :) Mines tomorrow, cant wait!

Im sure I can feel my baby moving already! I felt DC2 move early on in the pregnancy too, but im sure it wasnt this early... Anyone else?

Whatevertheweather · 01/03/2012 13:59

Scan went really well, yay!! So flippin relieved that first hurdle is over. Baby bean was fast asleep which allowed them to get really good measurements. He/she has caught right back up to what I thought were my original dates so 13+1 today EDD 5th Sept. Nuchal measurement was only 1.2mil but got to wait for results once combined with bloods but am expecting it will be low risk. Sonographer had a poke and woke him/her up so we got to see waving hands and feet but quickly settled down to sleep again Smile So happy and thankful right now.

MissCoffee thinking of you hope all goes well xx

to all. Good luck tomorrow Tinker - anyone else tomorrow?

ballroomblitz · 01/03/2012 16:32

Yay whatevertheweather!! So happy for you!

Hope everything went ok for you too MissCoffee

No I never felt much until later on TinkerMaloo. Placenta was at the front last time though.

JessTT · 01/03/2012 19:25

Hi, anyone already have a definite bump at 10w or is it just me????
I know you are 'apparently' more likely to show quicker with your second and not conviced its actually a baby bump (more likely all the crap food I have been consuming to try and stem the nausea) but I already feel like it's hard to hide!

Great to hear good scan news....haven't got a date for mine yet but should be in a couple of weeks.....feels like AGES away :-(
x

sasslejaney84 · 01/03/2012 19:46

So glad everyone seems to have had positive scans!! Seems amazing to see the little peanuts!!

jess I had a definate bump at about 9 weeks!! This is my second one too, you do show earlier with 2nd babies, my friend started showing at about 6 weeks with her 5th!!

I'm considering some chocolate fudge cake with a chocolate topping, I made it earlier but I didn't make the chocolate topping, I'm thinking about it as I'm hungry again (despite having my tea at 6!)

Not been as tired today, which is very good! But other than my baking, I've not done much other than housework and reading a book by Alison Weir on Henry the Eight's wives, very interesting!!

Is anyone else finding themselves doing daaft things?? So far this week I've taken the remote into the kitchen, went upstairs to get my phone charger and make the bed and then brought my pillows down and not my charger... I've taken my OH's cigs from the window sill and put them in the cabinet and then forgot where I put them, so had to buy him some more!!!

I'm not sure if all of the above is just me or the pregnancy!! I'm a bit of a ditz anyway, but not normally to this extent!

MadMonkeys · 01/03/2012 20:30

sassle I read that book too. She's a very good author isn't she? Don't read the one about Jane Grey until you're free of pregnancy hormones though, I sobbed through the last few pages.

Only a week until my scan now. I've been sick quite a bit in the last week and hardly any of my clothes fit now. I can't wear any maternity clothes yet in case anyone recognises them from last time - we still haven't told most people.

Littlecherublegs · 01/03/2012 22:14

Great news about all the positive scans, I still keep looking at my scan picture in amazement!! Smile

One thing they didnt tell us was the nuchal measurement - she just said that she'd taken it but it doesnt tell you too much on its own but once I've had my bloods, those results together with other factors such as age, will produce a risk level (high/low). She did say everything was looking fine though, healthy and normal so am expecting it to be low and am sure I have nothing to worry about. Besides, no news is good news as they said if it was high risk, I would be contacted quickly (within at least 5 days) otherwise I would just get a letter in about 2 weeks. So I dont think I've anything to worry about!! Smile

twizzlestix · 01/03/2012 22:19

Congrats for all those positive scan :)
Looks like I have a few due date buddies, thanks for posting the stats link.

Is anyone else really struggling to eat? I'm getting full very quickly eg three mouthfuls and cannot eat at all in the pm. This is causing continuous weightloss. Feeling worried now as is getting worse :( have spoken to midwife, who was very blasé, she said with my BMI could do with it and will help in long run (v true) but thought would stop not get worse.

ballroomblitz · 02/03/2012 07:39

jess I have a definate bump too (and the belly button is going a bit sticky-outy at the top) and am 11 weeks. Tried on various black trousers last night for the funeral this morning and not a single one fitted me. Going to have to see if mum has anything as I don't have time to run to the shops. Failing that it's going to be a long top over it with the buttons undone and fc they don't fall down. I know I didn't show this early with my first.

twizzle That was a bit cheeky of your mw. I was like that until last week. I'm still not really enjoying food, especially things like dinners. Even the thought of them kind of turns me. I've just been constantly munching a few bites here and there instead - things like chunks of cheese, raw veg and humous, cereal bars, toast, olives, fruit, handfuls of fuit and nut or seeds, yogurts and loads of packets of salt and vinegar crisps Blush When it comes to dinner I try to force a few mouthfuls of it, mainly because I want to set a good example to ds. If he isn't there I don't bother with dinner.

sasslejaney84 · 02/03/2012 10:42

twizzle some MW's can be like that sometimes, I had one like that when I had my DD n I used to get really annoyed with her too!!

mad I have it somewhere, I cried last time I read it anyway so its going to stay where it is until I'm no longer hormonal!! I love my tudor history and I can now pass it on to my DD as she is learning about henry the eighth at the moment so I'm really happy! Hope she goes into more details in high school and then I can tell her the full story rather than glossing over the good bits!!

FX for all those with scans and I hope everyone is ok!!

rightontime · 02/03/2012 12:15

Just had to report, had my letter through today for the Downs symdrome screening and my risk is 1 in 51,000. I'm so happy I am crying. So much better than 1 in 350 that my last pregnancy was and no mention of low PAPPA. Maybe I can start looking forward to this baby after all...

Whatevertheweather · 02/03/2012 13:07

Oh Rightontime I'm so pleased for you, what a relief Smile

MissCoffee hope all went well yesterday.

Think its just Tinker having a scan today?

xx

Iph · 02/03/2012 14:10

I don't know if anyone remembers me from the first thread and I'm sorry for disappearing but I haven't been able to bring myself to post on this thread. After several big red bleeds and almost continuous brown discharge, I didn't really believe we would have a sticky bean and it felt like tempting fate or something. I have been a dedicated lurker though and following everyone's progress. Lovely to hear all the good scan news but so sorry for all the lovely ladies lost along the way :(

However, amazingly, we had our scan today which showed healthy jumping bean measuring 13+3. I cried my eyes out! Still feeling shocked but so so so over the moon!

Hope everyone's well and looking forward to charging into the 2nd trimester?!

LittleSpade · 02/03/2012 14:25

Ah iph you've almost made me cry! So happy for you :o

Welcome back

flipflopper · 02/03/2012 14:47

Oh iph, what lovelynews, you must be over the moon. Did you not get an early scan?

Lovely to hear all the good news of scans xxx

Iph · 02/03/2012 15:00

Thanks ladies! Didn't mean to make you teary littlespade but mind you, if your emotions are anything like mine at the mo, it probably doesn't take much :o

flipflopper I've had three early scans at 5+5, 7+4 and 11 weeks all after big bleeds. Was feeing more hopeful after the 11 week one but had a MMC discovered at 13 weeks in Novemember where the baby had stopped growing at 10+1 and that combined with the continued bleeds just made it difficult to feel reassured. I know nothing is guaranteed now but to have got to this stage with an apparently healthy baba feels like I can breathe for the first time in weeks.

It's good to be back:)

Thali34 · 02/03/2012 15:06

So happy for you ballroom, flipflopper, pgreen and whatevertheweather and anyone I've missed. Yay for good scans, and sorry I've been awol the last couple of days! Had loads of time off work for a bad cold and then for scan, and been really busy since!

Really enjoying telling people our news, and in last couple of days have heard of 2 lots of friends due at exactly the same time! (One set live nearby, the others in South Africa)

Iph, I remember you!! ... I was also a dedicated lurker for ages :)
So pleased you've had good news!

I'm still not enjoying meals at all, especially at night.... yuck! But feel awful if I don't eat force myself to eat, despite constant snacking. Definitely have a bump, although I'm not sure if its a legitimate one, or still just bloat!? I'm sure it should be lower down to be real! But its exciting all the same, and don't feel I have to hide it as much!

SO looking forward to the second trimester and the 'glow' - I've not enjoyed pregnancy that much so far, but its meant to get better now! :)

elliemay80 · 02/03/2012 15:38

rightontime so pleased for you! You had your scan the day before me so I'm hoping to get my letter through soon. I haven't had the phone call and it's been a week so assuming all is well. Those are brilliant odds!

iph what great news to have after so much worry.

3 days into the second trimester and my nausea seems to have lifted. Like you Thali I patiently await the 'glow' and 'bloom' that this trimester is supposed to bring!

Hope your scan went well MissCoffeeandWine.
