1,000 posts into the very popular September 2012 thread, here's a new one, for knicker checking, boob prodding, toilet rushing, oh and eating the entire contents of the fridge or McDonalds

Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

Full steam ahead to booking in and positive scans aplenty.

Our bedroom activity isn't really happening atm either - not through anything pregnancy related but my whiplash.

Had a big family party last night and my uncle gave me a raised eyebrow when he saw me just drinking juice. I don't mind some of my friends' knowing but not all my mental relatives at once. Had already had the joking 'what are you getting engaged for?' comments, couldn't deal with the baby ones as well.

Macaroons · 28/01/2012 11:28

DH was complaining 2 weeks or so ago that bedroom activities have reduced significantly since we got the BFP, saying he's now unwanted Confused of coz he's not unwanted, it's just that I'm tired and have stretching pains / other pain that I'm really not in the mood...

We do have some gentle activities occasionally, touchwood so far no bleeding. We did it this morning, I hope there won't be any bleeding Confused

By the way do you still fit into your jeans / trousers / tights? I'm about 7+3 (based on measurement taken from last week's scan) I'm usually a size 12/14, and now I can only fit into the size 14s. My tights are getting very tight around the tummy... very uncomfortable. any recommendation of where to get maternity jeans / tights / leggings? (I was looking at asos just now, might pop into next / H&M later today)

Macaroons · 28/01/2012 11:32

am now quite paranoid! going to toilet to check now....

crowette · 28/01/2012 12:02

The last thing on my mind at the moment is sex - I still feel very bloated and windy. I doubt OH would want to go near me right now Blush I've started drinking Actimel and peppermint tea to help my digestive system, and thought it was improving (although veg stir fry is off the menu for the time being!) but this morning I thought I was less smelly at least, however it seems I'm just getting immune to the smell, because OH assured me it's as bad as ever Blush

I just tell him it's the baby's way of letting him know all is well Wink

Told my two DDs last night, as OH's DD guessed (after he hinted!) so though it was only fair they knew too. They're very excited and happy, especially DD2 as she's been wanting to be a big sister for years (she has a younger step brother, but not the same as being involved straight from the beginning) They asked us about names and came up with loads - none of which I like. Every name they or OH came up with is either too common (as in well used) or I just don't like. At least we have months to agree on something!

Macaroons I think I'm going to have to buy new work trousers as mine dig in now, especially when I sit or bend down, and my knickers are beginning to roll own my stomach. I'm about 6+5.

holls2000 · 28/01/2012 12:43

Oh god if Mr Holls made any approach I'd bat him off with something heavy. The prob is I am seeing bed = sleep NOT = rude things!!! Poor man.

As for clothes. Hmm I have 2 bras that fit. The top of my tummy is bloated and it's DEFINATELY changing shape. Trousers do up but are snugger than they were.

Wind still there but doesn't smell - just is loud!!!

mirikat · 28/01/2012 13:06

Hello all - hope you're having nice weekends?! I'm just back from the shops where I bit the bullet and bought some 'transition' clothes to hide my bloated gut from the world for a few more weeks. Actually felt liberating buying bigger sizes, and long drapey tops and cardis, rather than fighting to get into a smaller size! Got back and did big trying on sesh for my mum (who was skyping in from London)...first outfit on and she says "well the clothes are nice, but fuck you look pregnant...oh and your face is puffy"...might have to go back to the shops to buy some oversized earrings or something to distract from the spare michelin number I've got going on round my waist! BTW (and apropos of the earlier post), we had some morning delight yesterday, and it was surprisingly good...of course am now convinced we dislodged you know what, but so far no blood...FYI Macaroons, I went to New Look and just bought cheap basic stuff from their usual range, just one or two sizes bigger than I used to wear...i figure it's a bit early for proper maternity stuff just yet, but didn't want to spend a fortune on clothes I will be out of again in a few weeks...

MissCoffeeNWine · 28/01/2012 13:07

No shape change here, but I wouldn't expect there to be, I only started changing with DD past 25 weeks, and never changed with DS. Apart from bigger boobs, I get those!

I hear early changes often calm down and you go back to 'normal' for a few months before starting a pregnancy shape, but I'm guessing that's different for everyone!

I'm lucky though I don't need 'smart' work clothes (I work for myself) so so far I've never needed maternity clothes. Let's see if that continues! It's certainly cheaper. Though wearing size 12 jeans the day before giving birth and size 10s the day after does make some people shout at me ;) I doubt I'll be able to repeat it! I'm much older and podgier now.

OP posts:
york67 · 28/01/2012 13:45

Well my shape seems to be changing already. Only 5 +2 ish. Wearing a dress today as jeans snug. Must try and find materninty jeans from 6 years ago.

sasslejaney84 · 28/01/2012 13:48

I was MASSIVE with DD! Even the OH says I'm getting bigger (he is a very honest man, to a fault sometimes!)

Feeling better about last nights slight bleed, my mate up the road says post coital bleeding is very common in early PG so I shouldn't be overly concerned and to just keep and eye on things and take lots of rest (easier said than done with EPG insomnia!) And to chill out til weds!

Is this something you'd agree with?

WaitingForLittleR · 28/01/2012 14:40

sassle I can't comment I'm afraid - no experience. MissCoffeeNWine I'm v.glad you mentioned about early pg changes calming down - my belly was very bloated and big but seems a lot better the last couple days (I'm 9+1), and I don't think my boobs are as big now either, so freaking out slightly as symptoms calmed down before last mmc. Must stay calm till tues, just till tues...

sasslejaney84 · 28/01/2012 17:17

waiting my symptoms have slowed down now (especially since last nights bleed so having to calm myself down!) I'm just hoping this is part of the pregnancy!

Good luck for tuesday! I have an apppointment on weds so fingers crossed!!

MadMonkeys · 28/01/2012 17:33

Waiting - a lot of the early tummy expansion is bowel distension/water retension etc - the baby is absolutely tiny and the uterus is only the size of a grapefruit at this stage. This all settles down as your body gets used to the hormones and the changes in your metabolism. Same with the boobs - they get less sore etc as you get used to the hormones.

DD and I have a manksome cold/cough. Bleuugh.

Still just over a week to go before my booking appointment and then it will be another 4 weeks or so til my dating scan. It seems to take ages to get to 12 weeks doesn't it?

ThreeForTea · 28/01/2012 19:40

macaroons I bought some preg leggings from Asos a couple of weeks ago. They were £5 but cropped ones bit seem really nice and stretchy.

Hi to you all and all the new people :)

Have just put my 'sea bands' on. Will keep you posted to how they work for me. Ugh nausea is really such a pg joy killer, reassuring as it may be.

Had a bit of a manic week, got a bit tearful today as I was trying to drive somewhere on London.to meet some friends and got rather lost. Literally feel like I haven't had time for anything I should be doing after work and basic household chores. I'v run out of knickers because haven't.done any washing all week, my legs are screaming to be waxed, let alone b line, so not really wanting to let dh too near. He's feeling sorry for himself because i'm neglecting him emotionally. I just.feel like I can't help it, working nearly ft, managing a 13 month old and fighting the battle with the house while trying to cook a secret foetus is just proving quote a challenge!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 28/01/2012 21:13

threefortea It's hard isn't it. Our house is a complete tip, the floors need washing, there's laundry hanging everywhere and I feel like I'm constantly tidying up! I've loads of work stuff to do too which is going to just have to wait til Monday as I need to get some bloody house work done!!!

No mat clothes needed here yet although I got them out of the cupboard to see what I had. I am still carrying a fair bit of baby weight from last time, so that's hiding it I think!! Blush. And just a bit of a tip to the first time mums, not sure if the others would agree with me, but I think if you can avoid it, don't start buying mat clothes until you have to as you will more than likely be absolutely bloody sick of the sight of them by the time you are full term!!! GrinGrin

MissCoffeeNWine · 28/01/2012 21:28

Totally agree Ethelred - although I'd add that it's perfectly possible that you won't need any at all.

Yes, early pregnancy takes a long time. This is the fourth time I've done the first trimester - and I've spent 21 weeks being in the first trimester in the last 7 months!

Mind you the second isn't that much better!

Cheerful aren't I Grin

OP posts:
sasslejaney84 · 28/01/2012 21:36

The second trimester is slightly less worrying though!! Well, for me it will be! Roll on the next 3 and a half weeks!!!

ThreeForTea · 28/01/2012 21:38

Constantly tidying up - that's totally it ethelred!

Definitely agree with mat clothes thing too, i'd say, unless they're in a sale! Then is not to be sneezed at, 'spensive they are!

MissCoffeeNWine · 28/01/2012 21:42

Not for me sassle - I lost one at 14 weeks and my last, a baby boy at 17 weeks.

OP posts:
sasslejaney84 · 28/01/2012 21:45

Ah! Sorry hun, didn't know!!

WaitingForLittleR · 28/01/2012 21:48

Thanks sassle and MadMonkeys for the reassurance! and yes, agree with everyone else that the first trimester seems to go on for ever! I'm a little shorter than you MissCoffeeNWine with 20 weeks in the last 6 months! Still, into the last quarter now, nearly there, nearly there!

And ThreeForTea, I don't know how you're doing it! I often feel overwhelmed with work and the housework is definitely behind - but this is with no baby to be looking after at all so it doesn't bode well for the future!

MissCoffeeNWine · 28/01/2012 21:51

No reason why you should sassle :)

Annoying isn't it waiting!

OP posts:
sasslejaney84 · 28/01/2012 21:57

waiting you are very welcome hun! My sore boobs and back are back! Yay in one sense and oh dear lord in another!!

That sounds so odd now!!

threefortea I had a cleaning marathon on thursday and the rest I have left for the OH to do!! I'm constantly tired and I don't have the energy! I have a nearly 8 year old so she can help out too!! Just try to relax about it!! You never know, nesting may come early and everything will be sorted then!!

Dorita75 · 28/01/2012 22:01

Thanks holls and Loup
Am so bloated tonight. Had posh afternoon tea with my friend, told her The news as I passed her the champagne I can't drink...Sad!
She's v excited tho and was nice to tell her. I came home & ate 2 cheese&onion rolls, an Innocent veg pot and 2 ginger biscuits. Feel like my insides are going to burst!
Night everyone, am off to bed now to fart freely as DP out tonight!

FloydieDoydie · 28/01/2012 23:07

Is anyone else itchy as hell? My skin is on fire! Has been for a few days now. I was pretty itchy hen I was pregnant before but I don't remember it being this bad Sad

Is it just hormones at this stage? From what I have read, it is only concerning in the last trimester? I'll probably mention it to the doc in a few days anyway I guess.

ThreeForTea · 29/01/2012 00:59

A pretty much nausea free evening, well well, testing phase one of the sea bands going well :) we'll see how we fare on the choppy waters of First Thing in the Morning.
