Gosh Amethyst, Mini and Milly I hope you are all better soon. Puts my moaning about my blocked up nose and ears into perspective.

TeaandHobnobs · 26/02/2012 22:39

Thanks for amethyst, miniangel and millyv - hope you all start feeling better soon

Dalrymps · 26/02/2012 23:06

Hi ladiesSmile

Urgh, I am hopelessly behind again!

Sorry to the ladies who have lost loved ones, thinking of you x

Also sorry so many of us are illSad here's hoping we all bloom very soon. (is it ever going to happen?!Hmm)

I have had a nice family day, a leash rely walk up a local hill to visit 'St Cuthberts Cave' with the boys and my dh and the dog. Picnic for the boys at the top and back down.

Baked some pecan and white choc cookies this evening, mmm they are good if I do say so myself (recipe from hummingbird bakery book). I've eaten 2 alreadyBlush must resist more tonight!

I have given up working to go on early mat leave. I had 2 weeks hols to use so have used them. I won't get paid for the following 2 weeks but then I should be able to start claiming maternity allowance. I judas just completely knackered and struggling. I was trying to do no lifting but was ending up lifting a bit here and there. Just not worth it so am happy to be finished for now.

Pregnancy itself going ok. Have still got this awful cough though, sick of barking like a dog and waking a hundred times a night with it!Angry

Oh god I had a silly accident today, was running up the stairs and missed a step and fell forwards. Luckily I caught myself with my hands and one knee. I actually grazed my knee through my trousers though cause I went down with such force! Just glad I didn't land on my bump..

Anyway, hope you have all had a nice weekend. Am off to bed now to hopefully get some sleep.

Dalrymps · 26/02/2012 23:07

Leash rely? leisurely

ecstatica · 27/02/2012 11:44

Hi ladies,
Hope you are all well. My bump has suddenly 'appeared' at 24 weeks this time, now i definitely look very pregnant and not just a big girl :)
Ametystmoon -- What a relief to have a diagnosis and I am glad you did! Despite the uncomfortableness of it all you now have 'doctors orders' to really take care of yourself and rest. This is the best thing for you, fainting (and even the realisation at any random moment that you just might) is just no good. You take care of yourself now :)
SSC Sounds great! I had a glider and footstool with DC1 and 2 and must admit that it saw me through the last month of both pregnancies (was lovely to nod off in the wee hours on it sitting upright) and of course through the early weeks of newborn in house. Unfortunately as DC got older it became a hazard and had no where else to put it so got sold would also recommend and get one again if i just had the room and no DC to jump on it!
Dalrymps Leash rely lovely! Grin Sounds like perfect reflexes there, am glad that you didn't hurt yourself too badly. Nothing you can do to get rid of cough? Just waking up to wee all night is enough to make me irritable let alone a cough. Hope you feel better.
Millyv -- Sending you hugs. Really hope you start feeling better soon.
Kveta You are so very right about adulthood definitely overrated Grin
Sounds like a busy household, in spite of all the goings on and the patience that you'll all have to endure and heartache, I hope you'll find time to look after yourself too, sending you some Thanks
TeaHobs Also love that Spring feeling it puts everything into perspective for me. For someone who actually loves the rain I have had enough of it!! Bring on the spring and our newborns!
RHI -- Hope you're well today.
Alligator Pie -- I have had low iron with each pregnancy, the last was quite bad and had blood infusions. I would highly recommend Spatone, it doesn't work for everyone but has for me and i've been feeling perkier than usual since taking it. I don't do the tablets, they make me very sick. I've also upped my intake of greens now that I can keep them down :)

(bemybebe and K -- will send recipes asap)
Am waiting for a new dishwasher to arrive finally, no more dishes in the sink! Talk later good day everyone.

justwantcheese · 27/02/2012 12:21

hi everyone, hope you're all ok. my bump is gymormous now, everyone thinks i'm about to drop!! the spd is killing my back-how is everyone else suffering with it coping?
has everyone pretty much had their scans now?
wish the weeks would hurry up,can't wait to finish work. have a good day everyone.

Shelduck · 27/02/2012 12:25

Hi everyone!
Hope you had good weekends.

Welcome Alligator!
Rhi and Kveta - hope you?re both doing OK.
Mini - glad you?re feeling better. UTIs are horrible at the best of time, but I can?t imagine how much worse they are when you?re pg.
Amethyst - do take care of yourself. ?Pregnant uterus!? Grin I think the idea of a chaise longue sounds fantastic. But if you get one you must promise to get a really elegant 1930s negligee and sit with a big box of choccies on your lap! And maybe a tiny dog of some kind?
Milly - sorry to hear you?ve not been well. Whinge away! Having heard how everyone else is doing, I?m feeling very grateful that I?m doing as well as I am!
Thanks for you all!
Kveta - I?m very impressed by your gardening. I?m itching to be out in my garden, but if I do too much kneeling and bending, the bump starts to complain. (Trying to decide if it?s BH ? or ?those Brize Norton things? as DH calls them!)

Kveta · 27/02/2012 12:26

hi everyone!

Dalrymps sounds like a lovely weekend, especially the cookies I didn't do any baking this weekend, most unlike me! I did another massive cook though, as my parents brought a pound of mince with them when they visited (as one does) and it needed cooking. Our freezer is a shrine to bolognese sauce at the moment...

ecstatica am v Envy at the dishwasher. wish we had space for one. We had space for a dishwasher or a washing machine, so obviously went for the washer (but got a washer/dryer, which I LOVE more than is appropriate for a white good). My bump is so big already, I had people going Shock and Hmm when I said I'm due in June. I did say the beginning of June, but it obviously sounds like a long time away from February!

I have had the most shocking few nights of sleep, so have just ordered a hypnotherapy CD in the hope it will help me get some sleep. It's difficult though, as I am such a sceptic, the whole concept of hypnosis etc seems like so much bullshit to me. However, if it gets me sleeping, then I'm sold :o I managed 2 whole hours last night - and that's with going to bed at 9pm too...

have just ordered some black clothes from Next too, as I realised my usual uniform of jeans and a t-shirt will not be appropriate for a funeral. So morbid to think about it, but I should be prepared. No idea what DS should wear, but I guess black smart trousers and a smart top will be fine, as he's only 2.5. I have no idea about funeral etiquette though, the last one I went to, I was very young and did as I was told. Sadly, DH has been to plenty (his mum, all grandparents, several aunts and uncles) so is helping me not to mess it up.

anyone got plans for feb 29th?

OP posts:
Shelduck · 27/02/2012 13:03

Ooh yes Dalrymps - meant to say - can I have a cookie? They sound fantastic.

rrrayray · 27/02/2012 13:46

Hi all.

Glad am not the only one who suddenly feels really pregnant. I think bump was a nice neat size for a couple of weeks. Now, I just feel massive!!!

Am pleased to say still have glider from
dd, it's amazing. So comfy. The cushions need recovering though so will have to attempt that at some point. Blurgh!

Florin · 27/02/2012 14:17

Hello all. Sorry I haven't posted much recently life had been hectic but I have been trying to keep up with all the news.
We went to the baby show on Saturday, I am used to shows like that but Blimey it was full on. We got in and felt completly overwhelmed by it all and like we should have done a degree in babies before going there. There was just so much stuff. Was worth it as we got the prauser wanted for a silly amount as it was price matched and then for some reason they gave us a loaf of money back as well so we got a fab deal from Mothercare. Ended up with bugaboo donkey mono (in blue) maxi cozi cabriofix car seat and the isofix base, the adapters that fit it on to the buggy, the foot muff and parasol all for £825 should have been £1300 so a very good deal! Feel very grown up buying a pram, can't wait to start pushing baby Jasper around in it though.
Other than that we got a steriliser then gave up and went into the west end and relaxed with a few cocktails (well mocktails for me!)
Saw my twin sister last night she is pregnant and 2 weeks behind me. At her 20 week scan they found mucus in the intestine which could be a marker meaning the baby has cystic Fybrosis (it could also be nothing) feel very sorry for them they are understandable devastated. They are both being tested for it results back in the week. If my twin does come back positive for it my dh and I will also have to be tested for the gene too as there would be a small risk that our baby could have it too. Trying not to panic the odds are still low. Dh have seen 2 close friends die of CF though so it has scared us a bit.
On a happier note baby Jasper got his first present today! One of the girls in dh's office gave it to him today. Very surprised looking forward to opening it tonight.
Off to my first NCT nearly new sale on Saturday-anyone got any tips?

TeaandHobnobs · 27/02/2012 15:26

Ah Florin you reminded me that we have an NCT nearly new sale here on Saturday too - I had completely forgotten! Trying to reschedule my driving lesson now - don't want to miss it! Confused

CathFin · 27/02/2012 15:36

Kveta - sorry to hear your news, I have taken both of my DC to my grandparents funerals but I didn't buy special clothes for them - I shouldn't think anyone will expect you to?

Just trying to catch up as I was away for a few days at my Dad's which was nice as the weather was good and there is a playground at the end of their road so the kids get tired out by that and everyone slept quite well!

CathFin · 27/02/2012 15:44

Amethyst - hope you are coping with the 'no sitting'!!!

Mini - hope you are feeling better too - bad enough being poorly but its scary when you are pregnant too.

Rhi - sorry to hear your news too - very sad.

Warlin · 27/02/2012 16:10

Gosh 2 days away and so much to catch up on!

Amethyst, Mini and Milly hope you are all ok....how have we moved from coughs and colds to hospital admissions and driving bans! Sending you all hugs and Flowers. make sure you get some rest.

rhi and kveta hope you're doing ok. k hope your mum makes it back down in time. Good luck for the tough week ahead x

tea good luck with the driving lesson!

florin hope Jasper likes his pressie...and you get a kick of approval! Tom got his first pressie last week from SIL who had been over from Spain...a lovely light summery babygrow!

Welcome ali add yourself to the stats list. Very Envy of you being in Egypt. I love the heat there and the diving, though I'm sure you're not doing much of that at the minute!

Good news for me on the house front. We had 2 offers and accepted one so fingers crossed and all being well we are hoping to move start of April. Taking a week off in a few weeks to prepare, arrange painting and cleaning etc and might grab a few days at a spa resort with DH to chill. Will be a manic few weeks but excited and can't wait to get settled before baby comes.

Hoping he stays in long enough.....:)

Kicks are getting really strong now...it's such a strange feeling!! Is everyone else feeling that now. Mine just started all of a sudden and now I can see them as ripples in my stomach. DH felt them for the first time and was well chuffed!

Daryl so jealous that you've started mat leave already....makes it all seem to real that it is actually not that far away! Would love to be off now.

Hope everyone's Monday has been bearable....Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned...so hard to remember all (blames pregnancy brain)

Kayzr · 27/02/2012 16:16

Florin Wow that is a bargin!! I can't wait to order the pram. My PIL to be have offered to pay for it so we are feeling very grateful for that.

I have just got a big bundle of baby girl clothes from ebay. Feeling very happy about that. I have also paid the fees for the registry office today so that is all sorted. Except for the picking the music. I think we have 3 out of the 4 pieces of music needed.

Hope you are all doing well.

kittykitcat · 27/02/2012 16:58

Hi - can i join? Am due June 28th.

Lovely to meet you all Smile

emblosion · 27/02/2012 18:32

Hi everyone, haven't posted for a while and, like Dalrymps I feel hopelessley behind again!

Amythyst the fainting sounds so scary, hope you are feeling a lot better soon. Milly and Mini hope you guys are recovering too, and also sending healing vibes to everyone else else that has been feeling poorly. There seems to be a lot of bugs going around at the moment

I have had a lovely time shopping for maternity clothes today, had a tantrum at the weekend because nothing fit and so DP said he would take me shopping! :) got jeans and a few tops and a bargainous dress from New Look to wear to my hen do at the weekend. I feel most satisfied.

My bump has also suddenly emerged over the past week and I suddenly look a lot more pregnant. I am still only feeling odd movements tho, and nothing from the outside yet. Trying not to worry, is anyone else the same?

Dalrymps I have started mat leave early too. I'm a student nurse and its just knackering and impossible to really avoid 'heavy' work I think. I feel much better for getting some rest cos I was completely exhausted!

Kayzr Yay at getting wedding stuff sorted! I'm getting there with mine as well. DP just needs to get his suit now and I need shoes and to decide how I'm having my hair....

Rhi and Kveta thinking of you and really hope you are doing ok x

Welcome to all the new ladies,I too am v jealous of hot Egyptian weather, its freezing in northern Ireland!

Hi to everyone else!

Dalrymps · 27/02/2012 18:59

Hey kittykit welcome and congratulationsGrin

Kayzr · 27/02/2012 19:18

Welcome Kitty

Emblosion I have no idea what to do with my hair. We need to buy DPs tie so it matches flowers and I think it might be it. Oh and decide on the final food for the reception. Its only a buffet but too much to choose from!

The doctor has given me different antibiotics. He thinks the other ones I had have healed the tonsilistis but not the sinusitis. So fingers crossed they work quickly.

Florin · 27/02/2012 21:03

Opened Jasper's present it is a beautiful crocheted blanket. Dh says he hardly knows the lady at work who gave it to him so really lovely of her. Right better find my Note paper to write her a thank you letter.

Dalrymps · 27/02/2012 23:11

All those who want cookies, you'd better e quick. You'll have to fight dh for them who can't seem to stop eating them!HmmGrin

TeaandHobnobs · 28/02/2012 07:28

Thought I'd give decaffeinated tea a go.... It really isn't the same, is it? Sad

Kayzr · 28/02/2012 07:29

Tea I tried decaf coke when pregnant with DS1. It was awful. Sad

HorseyGirl1 · 28/02/2012 08:03
