Good luck tonight moobee - hope you have an easy time of it! cakes said the MWs and student MWs on delivery suite were wonderful, hope you find the same thing.

Moobee · 14/01/2012 00:58

Thanks MissRee and ghost.

I'm still waiting for a room to become free. I could have been sleeping at home, bah.

BigHotMama · 14/01/2012 01:07

Congratulations scrambled and mammamia Thanks

Good luck moobee and emmyj and anyone else who is labouring at moment.

Been for a curry then got dragged to a birthday party at a local but music far too loud and people dancing everywhere I just couldn't stand it for longer than half hour now back home drinking an ovaltine then bed.

abeautifulbutterfly · 14/01/2012 01:09

Hi Moobee (and anyone else up for whatever reason!). Hope you have a decent labour.

Congrats to Mia - well done and lovely name!

I'm having constant lower back and period pain, can't sleep so have stuffed a hot water bottle down my back and am trying to finish my last translation just in case this is the start of something Hmm. Am hoping that if something starts in earnest it waits till the morning - don't fancy hoicking the DDs out of bed and over to their friends' house in the current driving blizzard and subzero temperatures in the middle of the night...

Moobee · 14/01/2012 01:16

Thank you BHM and butterfly. :)

Butterfly, sounds like that could be the start of something!

I'd better sign out for a while, phone battery down to 60% already...

abeautifulbutterfly · 14/01/2012 01:23

Moo, the charger was on the list, no excuse for not having it with you my dear! (Now where is mine? Have packed the camera and spare batteries this eve though!)

Moobee · 14/01/2012 01:46

That is true and we do have a charger in the car. Haven't fully unpacked as we wanted to get a room first. Finally have a room and a midwife who is lovely! :)

abeautifulbutterfly · 14/01/2012 01:50

Good luck then, girl, hope it all goes swimmingly for you Smile. Take care!

Moobee · 14/01/2012 03:27

Hmm still not started induction. This is going to be a looooooong day...

Moobee · 14/01/2012 03:40

Beautifulbutterfly - sounds like things might be starting for you too? Very exciting! :) Hope it all goes well, maybe you should get someone to start clearing that snow already!

ParsleyLion1 · 14/01/2012 04:39

Morning ladies Smile

Woke up at 3.30 and am wide awake grrrr

That's a long time to start you off moobee you'd have thought they would have told you to stay home until they found a room.

Hope it all starts soon for you

butterfly sounds promising. Grin

Moobee · 14/01/2012 04:44

Still waiting Parsley, my midwife has been kidnapped by other women who arrived pushing. I'm so jealous of people with contractions. They only just told me so I'm going to try and sleep. Hope you manage to go back to sleep too.

ParsleyLion1 · 14/01/2012 04:47

At least you have a room now so it might be easier to get some sleep. Sounds like a good idea to have a try while you can.

Moobee · 14/01/2012 06:35

Oh god I'm still waiting! Have had 4 hours sleep since Thursday morning.

ParsleyLion1 · 14/01/2012 07:10

Blimey moobee I managed a 20 min doze. I suppose they are dealing with the people pushing. Makes the 24 hour thing seem a bit silly when they've already left you 7 hours though. Is your DH with you or did you send him home? X

Oeisha · 14/01/2012 07:35

Morning all!

mia congrats! Thanks Give Jacob big hugs from me Bear

moobee gosh! I hope you're in there now! FX

FX to any others labouring/about to.

Woke up about an hour ago with gentle wiggles rather than the violent flalings I went to bed with (proper bed-shakers), but another bloody headache with more bloody indigestion. Lots of dreams about labour, but methinks it's not happening for a while yet!!!

ghosteditor · 14/01/2012 07:36

Oh moobee that's such a shame! Nap and rest when you can, it all adds up. But you're going to have your baby soon, wohoo!

Butterfly I hope you got some rest and that things are cranking up for you. I'm afraid I have to tell you that I've had period type pains for quite a few days now, on and off, and have them and back ache now. I think it's because the head is engaged! But hope it's the start of something for you...

Moobee · 14/01/2012 08:20

Hi all, have had gel now and period pains are ramping up. DH is here helping count the 'ow' chorus that greets the period pains. He's managed intermittent naps. I was having period pains for a few days and wasn't at all dilated this morning but now the period pains have stepped up a gear.

Canular bloody hurts.

Hope eceryone else is well. Will stop updating now as camular in typing hand. Hope you all have a good day!

buzzgirly · 14/01/2012 08:22

I cant believe that there is another thread, I was only offline a few days!!

Massive congratulations to mia and scrambled -lovely news Smile

Moobee hope things are moving along for you, you too emmyjj

Well I am now 5 days overdue, went for sweep yesterday and cervix is still long and unfavourable, it's behind baby's head. So going back on Tuesday for another sweep and tgey will break my waters if more favourable, but If not I'm having a section on Friday. I had emcs with dd so they not keen to induce me.

Very nervous about section, dd was ill when she was born and she was taken from us straight away which she needed, but I have an incredible fear that this will happen again. Very irrational as baby looks healthy!

buzzgirly · 14/01/2012 08:25

moobee just saw your update, glad they finally got you started! What a time you had to wait. Hope all goes well, and baby doesn't make you wait too much longer! Will check in later to hear all about it, so exciting so will soon have a gorgeous new baby!

addictediam · 14/01/2012 08:36

Morning all, I didn't want to gynx it so i didnt mention it, but last night bump moved from back to back to proper position. I had some really strong cx (lady in boots thought I was going to give birth there and then!) Decided to do the weekly shop as we had no food and i thought walking would help. I ended up having Cx 5 mins apart lasting 2 mins long, very strong had to breathe through them. Thought I'd have some dinner and ring triage/delivery if still going in an hour then NOTHING. It all stopped :( baby turned again and is now back to back again had a few mild cramps over night but nothing to sing home about. I'm really disappointed as i thought that was it.

I now have a stressful day of entertaining mil,fil and crazy sil while trying to keep dd happy while they scream shout and clap at her (they just dont know how to behave around children) at least they're bringing curry (unless crazy sil decides she wants something else)

ParsleyLion1 · 14/01/2012 08:56

Oh addicted Sad I wonder if she'll turn out to like to practice everything as much when she is born.

Still you could try shopping again. X

fishandlilacs · 14/01/2012 09:44

Morning all,

Sounds like Moobee and Emmyjj are well on thier way.

Nothing to report here-sweep has made me feel a bit bruised inside but absolutely nothing. I don't even have the tiniest smear of show. I distinctly remember it being very gak afterward with dd. Backache and hip pain are excruciating. DH took me out to homesense yesterday afternoon which is normally a bit of a happy place for me but I ended up sat on a sofa in there waiting for him to come back out of maplins. I couldn't enjoy it, too sore. He did make a lovely pizza last night.

My sister spent the night in hospital simply because they wouldn't let her home-shes had no cx since yesterday morning. It's been a bloody debarcle to be honest shes wasted 24 hours in there. They just got so busy she was left as non urgent.

She slept ok last night had 6 hours sleep she said so i am pleased about that because I was worried about her getting exhausted before her labour even starts. She's had a shower and is waiting to be taken down to delivery suite where they are going to break her waters and put her on a drip.

I have this feeling this is going to end in c section for her. This of course now has an impact on my folks being here for me next week which has really pissed me off the one thing I wanted to avoid. If she labours today and baby is born tomorrow theres a good chance she wont even be out of hospital by tuesday. Especially if c section. So were waiting til tmrw night to put the MIL contingency plan in place-I hated having her here last time but needs must.
With each hour that passes for her just makes me gladder that i am not being induced again.

ParsleyLion1 · 14/01/2012 10:47

Your poor sister fish and a pain in the bum(p) from your perspective too. Still there's nothing to be done other than plan your contingencies I suppose.

I'm now mentally preparing myself for a very long wait on Monday given our group's recent experience. I think I'll be on the old drug still.

DawnOfTheDee · 14/01/2012 11:25

Hello ladies and new thread!
