fish Your BIL's def. and ass-hat at the least. If he had the time to update one family, he had time to update 2 adn as for the rest...Biscuit. Want me to come round and batter the shit out of him...see if it works as well as a sweep???

addicted My DHs response a while back was "but we don't have any wire coathangers"...not sure what he thinks a section involves but it shut me up!

Headaches' particularly nagging at the moment, so sorry if I've missed anythign else BUT:
Re: back to backs (which Abi currently is), bouncing on a birthing ball, swimming (I neither have the time or the funds for this), but I am doing this... Inversion technique. Don't think anything's happened yet, but she is a lot more comfy today, so maybe she's flipped in my sleep (famous last words there).

I'm glad you agree with me-you can see why theres no love lost. He used to be a nice guy, and my sister unfortunatley seems to like him. Shes just always been so bloody docile-she never ever rocks the boat or stands up for herself. My dad is the doormat one and she takes after him whereas I take after my mum and were feisty and furious a lot of the time. Mind you my dh is cross with BIL too-he was all ready to phone him up and shout at him-but i stopped at him.

sorry the headaches are continuing Oiesha not long now.

laylasmummy09 · 15/01/2012 19:44

oeisha thanks for the link ill give it a go, I've been on the ball and on my hands and knees but I think his bum is stuck under my ribs making it hard for him to move and very uncomfortable for me to bend so fingers xd this will help, sorry about your headaches, not long to go now,
fish sorry your BIL is so selfish my BIL is quite similar and when my eldest sis had her 1st baby she was in labour for days in agony and he was making her do allsorts of housework and things saying he didn't believe her until midwife did a home visit and sent her to hospital in fullblown labour and he saw the contractions on the monitor and apologised, he was constantly selfish and thankfully she devorced him last year!

Oeisha · 15/01/2012 19:52

Thanks guys. Trying some DrP for the caffeine relief. Doesn't seem to be bothering Missyface too much Hmm. Hopefully it'll help. Between the headache and the naggin mild persiod pain I'm being a mardy bitch. Really don't want to take codeine.

Well done ladies with new babies! So jealous right about now.

Fish your BIL sounds like a bit of an idiot. Perhaps he's just a bit thoughtless rather than deliberately selfish, some people do struggle to think of the bigger picture (self involved arse!)!

Just had a rejig of the Stats list, babies born are now at the top with those of us still to pop at the bottom. Babies born are in (birth) date order now as well! To much time on my hands (rubbish Sunday night tell not doing it for me)...

Good luck to my labouring ladies and hang in there all you lot with no imminent signs.

tigana · 15/01/2012 20:42

fish bil sounds at least like an self-absorbed idiot, at worst an utter dick. Hope your sister is ok during the impending inlaw stampede.

peanuts777 · 15/01/2012 21:24

congratulations new mummies

Sorry about your BIL fish. What a selfish and thoughtless arse. I feel sorry for your mum and dad. Feeling like a spare part whilst your daughter had had a dou time in hospital and they've been doing their best to respect privacy and help out all they can must be terrible. Reckon they should make your sister food and pop her to bed and completely ignore him and let him hang out with the tribe of people who have descended upon him. It might be a good way to get them out of the way and ensure that your mum and dad ca spend some proper family time with your sister? Just a thought....every cloud....

I have done so much ironing and walking today. At 38+2 today this is officially the longest I have been pregnant......Everyone was worried this one would come early.
I am praying I will start to labour or have some kind of sign that baby is ready , as I know I have to have an ELCS on Weds, but it would be nice to know that the baby was ready.

I have backache and mild period like pains, but am nearly positive it's just because I have been over doing it..........Ah well....

peanuts777 · 15/01/2012 21:26

Ooh sorry for the typos....dou was supposed to be rough....Confused

ghosteditor · 15/01/2012 21:46

fish how frustrating - hopefully your sister is oblivious to it all, as him making her worry would be inexcusable. But all your family can really do is be the considerate and thoughtful ones and rightly hoick up those judgeypants about the ILs. Smile

Thinking squeezy thoughts for those of you who want them!

fishandlilacs · 15/01/2012 23:08

thanks all, i have resisted the urge to phone and yell. I wish it was just self asorbtion and inconsideration rather than just plain selfishness-but sadly they are just rude thoughtless people. mum and i will have good moan about it when the dust has settled. I have often felt like my sister is just a skivvy and a baby machine she is always always second fiddle to his family, but family or not she makes her own choices. Anyway my new nephew is called Alec. I dont know when i'll meet him but hopefully not too long.

did anyone see that new tv show tonight "call the midwife?" i thought it was pretty good. but if tjhose conditions (1950's east end london) were anything near the truth we have it lucky girls xxx

peanuts looks like we are going to be ELCS buddies sharing the same day. I feel a bit squiffy about the spinal but the rest i'm ok with.

shonnomanom · 15/01/2012 23:47

Hi ladies
addicted add blackmail (worked with dd) and cleaning the car (worked for dd) to that list.

Congrats for your sister fish shame her oh is a prick

We spent half if our first day at home back at the hospital. The mw was concerned that dd wouldn't feed properly from either breast it bottle. That and he was looking a but jaundace and has a horrible looking rash all over him.
They aren't concerned about his colouring and apparently the rash us harmless and common with newborns. As for the feeding, iv to Express and keep encouraging him as much as possible. The good news is he has only list 4% if his weight.

Hope your coping and not fretting too much ladies. Good luck to all in the throws x

abeautifulbutterfly · 16/01/2012 02:26

Shonno why was she so worried if he's lost so little weight? I think I read/was told that jaundiced babies are sleepier and feed less well so maybe when that passes (is it about day 3-4?) he will wake up a bit and start demanding more?

Fish, sorry to hear your BIL troubles - hope yr mum gives him a piece of her mind if sis and dad won't... But at least yr sis is out the other side safe and sound with baby Alec!

Well, I'm awake again for no apparent reason (no pain this time), feel full of energy despite having cleaned, ironed, and put up furniture yesterday. Have to be up again for getting girls off to school in 3 hrs and then off to hosp again, so no rest for the wicked today. It's officially my due date, so that's as good a guarantee as any that nothing will be happening today chez butterfly Grin

Oeisha · 16/01/2012 06:17

Oh sho how worrying for you. At least you know the rash is nowt to worry about for sure. FX you have a better day 2 at home!

Awake. DH was snoring, no amount of un-subtle prodding was getting him to turn over, he only had about an hour before the alarm went off (I've been on the cat forums...exciting life I lead), so I got up. Speaking of which, the alarm is due to go off soon, and then I can crawl back in to bed and have more weird dreams about a life-drawing class wanting to draw my stretchmarks. Also had a dream about having a bloody show, so was mildly expecting something when I went for a wee. Nowt.

Headache's not too bad right now and there's no cramping. Knew I shouldn't have mentioned it to DH...getting him all excited...ah well. At least I wasn't stupid enough to mention it to Mum (who's started up with the ringing me for "oh, no reason" [i.e. why haven't you produced yet] calls. Daily at the moment, but I can see it esculating).

Morning ladies Smile

Off to the hospital in about half hour. Gulp. Will try to keep you updated otherwise I'll see you on the other side.

addictediam · 16/01/2012 08:06

Mz has finally had her baby!
Good luck parsley.
Oeisha glad your headache has eased.

I sent dh off to work this morning, he's 1.5 hours away today and ever since he drove off I've been having cramping. Not convinced its going to turn into anything so not going to call him back. My mum thinks after all these Cx and false alarms baby is going to come unexpectedly, very quickly (her fastest labour was less than 30 minutes!) And im going to give birth at home, not convinced I'm in labour. :o I think she may be right!

addictediam · 16/01/2012 08:18

Yes fish i watched it. I am so glad we have drugs and hospitals, even our 'natural' births are.less natural than their medically intervined births (not sure what the term is!) It just made me so greatful for medicine and the advancement of science.

FrillyMilly · 16/01/2012 08:34

Good luck Parsley

Addicted hope it turns in to something (but not too quickly)

I watched the midwife thing. I think I'm going to order the books. The thing is that was an improvement on life pre nhs. My great nan was telling me about it before she died. She remembered life before nhs then worked as a nurse in the nhs. Before the nhs people gave birth at home and if they could afford to they would pay a local retired nurse to attend or just an older woman who had experience of child birth.

fishandlilacs · 16/01/2012 08:52

Morning ladies,

First of all huge congrats to mz lovely lovely name. I'm so glad you didn;t have to wait too long before she put in an appearance.

I'm hanging on in there til wed. I will be seriously pissed off if i do start naturally now. It's unlikely as i have had no signs but you never know.

I had the worst night with pelvic pain-DH polished our bedroom furniture yesterday and in the process got some furniture polish on the floor boards. I slipped just slightly on it as I was getting out of bed for a wee in the night and pulled my already sore pelvis quite badly. Not to put a too fine a point on it I am in utter bloody agony. It's so so so sore, the pain radiates from my groin down my inner thighs. I walk like I have got lead boots on all the movement from the knees. I have taken co-codamol this morning but as yet it hasn't helped. I feel like I need a wheelchair. I know that sounds all woe is me and dramatic but i'm feeling incredibly sorry for myself. I burst into tears this morning just from turning over in bed. I want to go back to bed but i'm afraid it will seize up again. I left myself a couple of jobs today but I don't think i can do them.

ghosteditor · 16/01/2012 08:52

Good luck parsley! And congratulations to mz.

Sad face again here - had another bad night because I was having strong HBs and cramps that kept me awake, on top of a headache. Finally took some paracetamol and asked DH to move rooms (this bed has the waterproof sheet so I can't go!) at about 3am and got about 5 hours. Am still having HBs so I hope your mum's theory is right, addicted and the practice will be worth it. Still no show here either oeisha.

DH is off to work but grumpily because he hadn't got any flying or anything else booked because we should have a baby by now. Don't know what to tell him. Also, the damn car needs an MOT by next Monday and we can only get it done near his work. I'm worried about him being at work with the car unavailable and this garage always takes longer than it says to get stuff done.

Gosh, doom and gloom here, sorry. Today was my original EDD based on my own dates so I was half expecting some action. I think it's just going to be another day of boredom...

ghost 40+4

ghosteditor · 16/01/2012 08:57

Sorry fish, xpost. That sounds really really awful, and I know there's nothing you can do except rest, as an over stretch like that will take a few days to calm down again. Poor you - hugs.

shonnomanom · 16/01/2012 09:48

Oh fish rest up as much as you can x

Congrats mz !

Good luck today parsley

oiesha I really hope your headaches ease once your getting baby snuggles x

butterfly the community mw didn't weigh him, he was weighed at the hospital. Tbh, and I can understand why, the community mw's aren't happy that babies are being discharged 6hours after birth. So our thinking is that if they see something with the baby that their slightly unhappy with their sending back to get checked. Kinda in protest Iykwim.

As for the rash, its called Erythema Toxicum. It appears on 50% of newborns and take about a week or so to fade. It's completely harmless but they don't know what causes it.

Hope everyone is well x

DawnOfTheDee · 16/01/2012 09:55

Congratulations mz and good luck to parsley.

Take it easy fish and rest up today - jobs can wait or be done by someone else. Sorry to hear of your knobish BIL too - he sounds like a proper tool.

Ghost - sounds like you need some rest too!

Come on ladies - put on comfy clothes, grab a duvet and a boxset and settle in for a laaaazy day. That's an order Wink

I've now made peace with the idea that I'm going to go the full 14 days overdue. Currently 41+2.

MadameBoolala · 16/01/2012 10:03

Hello January differs / newborn snufflers!

I am just marking my place on your fred (lovely pace by the way - mind if I have a seat?), as the gorgeous fish has asked me to come and announce her happy news when it occurs!

fishandlilacs · 16/01/2012 10:05

ooooh hello boo :) How very nice to see you here xxx

fishandlilacs · 16/01/2012 10:10

ladies -i do hope you don't ind our little gatecrasher. Boolala My most beloved RL bestie and going to be my spokesperson when i'm in hospital-i dont have an all signing all dancing phone so will not be able to update much when i'm in.

Boo this fred is moving a lot slower now we have "lost" 50% to the newborn days.

(Did you know that "Boolala" was one of minifish's first words-she used to say boolala everytime she saw pretty lights or stained glass when she was about 6-9 months old.)
