hi ladies

new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 25/01/2012 11:52

Sorry GINGER, that must be so disappointing Sad.
TINKS, poor dd1 (and you!). It's so hard when they're ill.
OK here, though very hard work this morning getting all 5 up, fed and out by 8am for school/nursery run, as dh working away. I am going to watch '15 and rising' on 4OD now to feel better!
Love to all x

SESthebrave · 25/01/2012 17:38

Ginger - sorry :( I did wonder when I saw your FB post about twirl bites yesterday - hope you ate the whole packet and more! I know how disheartening it can be and how cruel it is when our bodies seem to mislead us.

Diege - I think you are definitely supermum managing all 5 to be up and out by 8am! How's the sleep situation - are you persisting with the moses basket in the cot?

Tink - hope DD1 bounces back quickly.

Potty training - Day 4 and (without wanting to speak too soon) he seems to have mastered it! Today there have been no accidents (except when he accidentally tipped the potty over in his excitement that he had done a wee Hmm ) and he seems to be going about 2hrs between wees. All through Jo Jingles he said he didn't need a wee but then went immediately afterwards on the potty so he must have "control" :)

Diege · 25/01/2012 18:58

Hi SES! Sounds like you've broekn the back of the potty training - wow, very impressive!
Sleep situation with Samuel much better thanks. Moses basket in cot became untenable as he was literally wedged in, so went cold turkey with the cot on its own. Very restless, so ended up buying a breathable cot bumper and he's started sleeping through again from the day it was used. So all good for now!

hellokittyrules · 25/01/2012 19:55

diege - dont know how you manage to get 5 ready in the morning !!
i find getting my 2 ready bad enough!! , especially dd1 with her dyspraxia she hates getting dressed and has no sense of time and urgency!!
glad samuel sleeping better :)
hi ses - well done with potty training :)
dd1 is on the mend

bumpsnowjustplump · 25/01/2012 20:10

evening all.

2nd osteopath appointment today, she has been very unsettled since but has finally gone to sleep. Dont hold out much hope for tonight though. He did a lot of work on her neck and back so he said she may be uncomfortable tonight.

Sorry about possiable AF ginger but it aint over till she arrives [bsad]

Hope everyone else is good

GingerbreadLatte · 25/01/2012 21:02

Hi everyone

Thanks for nice comments :) you guys are lovely, and cheer me right up! I was feeling really pants yesterday but bit brighter today. Ses- the twirls were actually about something else but I like your thinking Grin

Ses- well done on the training! thats brilliant progress!

Diege- you really are amazing [bgrin] I can barely get myself up !

Hi Bumps- I hope the night isnt too bad, and the benefits outweigh the disturbances... (am still loving that jumper! Grin

Kitty, hope DD1 is better soon and DD2 and the rest of the family remain well.

Better go, time for OBEM!!!

Kayzr · 25/01/2012 21:13

Sorry Ginger I hope you are wrong but if not I have everything crossed for next cycle.

Ses can I borrow you or send DS2 to you? Grin well done on the potty training.

Diege you are wonder woman!!!!

Bumps I hope DD2 settles soon. Smile
I'm struggling with insomnia a bit. Not getting much sleep at the minute.

The baby seems to be having a good wriggle tonight. Grin

Hope everyone is ok.

GingerbreadLatte · 25/01/2012 21:41

thanks Kayz. x

StarryNewYear · 25/01/2012 21:43

Grr - wrote a post this afternoon and it didn't work!
Ginger - sorry for this month - hope you're still in with a chance and will keep everything crossed, for now and if not then next month.
Diege - agree you are amazing to get 5 up and out the door for 8am. Glad DS2 is settling better in the cot.
Kayz, Rugby and Ses - glad scans went well (have been lurking but not posting), sorry beans weren't behaving for determining gender. Glad you're all doing well.
Tink sorry for DD1 being poorly - hope it passes quickly.
Ses - yay for potty training!
Can't - how is DH doing in his new role? Hope it is proving easier/better on both of you.
Hope this post via my phone now works...

GingerbreadLatte · 27/01/2012 10:19

Quick one to say hi Star! how is life with you? maybe your lost post had all that info - its soo annoying when that happens!

CD 2 here. Feeling better about it and more positive now- onwards with lots of GOFing this month Blush

How is everyone?

hellokittyrules · 27/01/2012 11:29

hi star Grin

hi ginger glad u r feeling better about things Grin

StarryNewYear · 27/01/2012 13:36

Hi Ginger - glad you are feeling more positive. Am good thanks, had an amazing holiday, trying to settle into being an efficient housewife Hmm - not being as great at housework as I had envisaged Blush, but loving being at home with the DC and DD and I are getting out to lots of activities. Feb is the month where I really must kick off my money-making projects (not big money, but money for emergencies and luxuries). Is a bit of an emotional day in the star household today as DH is getting the snip this afternoon. I totally understand all his reasons for doing it and don't feel so strong enough about another DC to counteract them, but is still a big thing... Sorry if that all seems really insensitive to those of you really wanting more DC (I will eagerly suck up every detail of your pregnancies and new babies to enjoy the experience through you) - watching OBEM on catch-up last night hasn't helped!

Hi Tink - hope Dd1 has recovered and none of you have caught it.

GingerbreadLatte · 27/01/2012 16:02

HI Star

Glad you enjoyed your hols. How did you find the flight with a nearly 3 year old? I'd love to go to Aus but after a hairy flight to US when the SG was 2, i am not keen on repeating!

Your money making ideas sound good. It must be lovely to do things with DD :)

I can imagine the 'snip' for the star household is a decision of much mixed emotions. you sound pretty reconciled with it which is a great way to be about it. Hope Mr Star recovers ok.

You can share my fun of further 2wws as i progress my TTC journey....:)

Tink- how is DD1?

Kayzr · 27/01/2012 22:35

Star you are more than welcome to my heartburn if you feel you are missing pregnancy Grin how is DD doing?

Ginger was your MW ok with the home water birth? Im going to tell mine in 2 weeks when I see her and was wondering how you got on with telling yours.

I hope everyone else is ok.

StarryNewYear · 27/01/2012 22:58

Thanks Ginger and Kayz. Sorry for heartburn Kayz - see that's (one of) the (many) wondrous thing(s) about the female body and mind - pregnancy and labour are blardy tough but you forget it all or at least rose-tint it once it's all done Grin. I honestly think that if one of my friends or my sister asked me to surrogate for them, I'd do it as long as I was 100% sure I could detach from the baby being part of me (Can't - my inspiration). I've contented myself with shopping for new baby presents for boy and girl born to 2 different friends this month and today my sister and her boyfriend moved into their new house, so who knows - maybe this year I will be one an auntie again but this time to a baby who's a bit closer for cuddles Grin.
Thanks for asking re DD Kayz - I don't know if I managed to get on here and post before Christmas? She had a check-up in December and they said she "stands a good chance of getting continence", so we shall see what the year brings.... Was the best Christmas present ever! She has done 2 poos on the toilet this week, which is fab, so will see if we can focus on that to start with as I think the attempts at toilet training will take some time and will be easier in warmer weather Grin. She is still young by BE standards for attempting it, but she would really like some Princess pants when she can wear them!
Right - must get some sleep - am single parenting this weekend while DH recovers on the sofa - don't know how you do it when your DP is away Kayz!
P.S. had a good cry before DH went in, which was quite cathartic. Sorry for such waffle!

Rugbylovingmum · 28/01/2012 11:09

Hi all,

just back from a week at centreparcs. The weather was awful but DD had a great time swimming, playing on her new bike and charging around the softplay. It was so nice to have some relaxing family time Grin. LO has been really active over the last couple of week, lots of kicking at wriggling which is lovely although I'm sure DD never kicked this hard at this stage. Hope this beanie doesn't

Ginger - sorry this wasn't your month, I have everything crossed for you this cycle.

Ses - congrats on the potty training and well done O Grin. Sounds as though he has cracked it really quickly. DD just isn't interested at all so I'm leaving it for now. How did you know O was ready?

Diege - how did S sleep last night? Hope he settled in the cot.

Bump - how is DD2 today?

Cant - how is DH getting on now?

Tink - hope DD1 is better today and you have all escaped the lurgy.

Star - I'm really glad to hear that DDs check up went well Smile. I'm not doing very well with the housework either, I do all the cooking now and usually manage all of the laundry but I think DP is disappointed that's all I get done during the day Wink. I'm loving being off with DD though! How are you feeling about Mr Star's snip today? It must bring up mixed feelings.

Kayz - hurray for the wedding date!!! So exciting!!!!Grin. I sympathise with the rotten heartburn, I never suffer when I'm not pregnant but it's horrible. This time I've added eczema (again never have it when not pregnant but have had a horrible flare up all over my legs, back and arms this week), tiredness and I have been having twinges of pain in my pelvis Sad. Bit scared as I am only 24 weeks so have another 15 weeks until c-section for the SPD pain to get worse Sad. Just reminding myself it's worth it for another gorgeous little bundle like DD.

Sure I've forgotten loads of things so sorry if I've ignored anyone!

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/01/2012 14:54

Hello all.

Ginger so glad you are feeling happier now. Fingers crossed this is your month.

Kay boo to heartburn but at least you have wedding to take your mind off it.

Star glad dd's check up went well.

Rugby yay for holiday glad you had a nice time.

Ses if you are lurking: I have been reading up on the new advice re VIT D and bf. I have just got VIT D suppliment from boots. It is boots own brand Vitamin D 12.5ug (two a day tablets). The advice i had is that bf women should take VIT D suppliments in addition to any vit they are already taking. I am taking Viridian pregnancy complex vits which state they contain 10ug of Vit D2 so can I assume that it is ok to take both or should i just take one of the VIT D tablets + the pregancy suppliment!! Can you od on vit D??

DD2 still very poorly with a cold but had her checked out at dr yesterday and it isn't on her chest which is good. However the bug in her eye is still really bad, he has now changed the AB drops she is on and I have to go back in 8 days for another swab. If the bug is still there he is refering me to a microbiologist as she has been on ab drops for over 10 weeks now....

Hope everyone is well

Kayzr · 28/01/2012 17:42

Bumps I hope the new AB drops clear DD2's eye. Poor little mite. How is life with 3 children? Is it nice? lie if you have too Grin

Rugby The holiday sounds very nice. I only have heartburn when pregnant too. I slept almost upright last night.

I have been naughty today and bought girls clothes. They were so cute and I thought that 80% is fairly high. My scan is a week on Monday so I can always take them back if this scan says boy. Smile

SESthebrave · 28/01/2012 18:41

Bumps - if I were you I'd take one of your Viridian vitamins at one end of the day and just one of the Boots vitamin D tablets at the other end of the day. Vitamin D is one of the vitamins that you can OD on and your body will make it's own as well when you spend time outside. If you stick to that, there shouldn't be any issues with toxicity even on the sunniest of days :)

Kazy - 80% is a fairly strong percentage so hopefully it's a risk that pays off!

Rugby - Centerparcs week sounds good. I also suffer with eczema when pg and just have to make sure I moisturise regularly to keep it under control. I don't get heartburn but do get bad indigestion and trapped wind.
Not sure how I knew O was ready for potty training. He'd been telling me about poos but not wees. I'd been talking to him for a few weeks about his big boy Thomas pants (he calls them "good boy pants" which works quite well Grin ) We also had a couple of books talking about pants / going to the toilet and spoke to him about his friends that didn't have nappies. There does seem to be a reflex though with wees. He can hold it in until he's finished what he's doing (eg Jo Jingles, Rugbytots) and then as soon as he sits on the potty will do a massive wee. In the last 4 days, he's just had 2 accidents!

Star - good to hear from you :) Great to hear such positive news from DD's check up.
How's the single parenting wkend going? Hope DH is recovering well. Don't blame you for getting emotional about it - I know I would!
Money making projects sound good!

Ginger - Yay for lots of GOFing. I think DH has given up....

Hello tink, Diege and anyone else lurking!

Kayzr · 28/01/2012 18:59

Ses can I rack your brains too please? I am constantly exhausted an pharmacist said to try increasing my iron intake. So I bought Spatone and some general pregnancy vitamins. The vitamins say they contain 100% of my rda of iron so should I leave the Spatone alone? Thanks very much Smile

BBisbackwithaBABY · 28/01/2012 18:59

Guess who' come home.....x

BBisbackwithaBABY · 28/01/2012 19:10

Soo who remembers me?! I remember a few of you! I am back and having another turbulent TTC journey! Over 3 years ago I posted a thread here when all I could think about was babies. It did eventually get too much the struggling, my demons were rearing their had and i decided to leave MN! Now I have one a wonderous wonderpuss boy, we struggled 14 mOnths to have him, and had PCOS hangong over us. Boyo was not the easiest pregnancy, there were redundancies (dodged), anemia, SPD and gest diabetes. Birth was EMCS but honestly i couldnt have been happier. Lived in my blissed out bubble for a while, but now back sort of where we started, we are 16 months into ttc #2! So far have had scan and blood test for PCOS. Scan positive bloods negative?!? Docs will do nothing!!have days of up and down about the situation as DH and I arent trying like we were for boyo ( we havent the time or energy!!) HOWEVER. I want it bad so bad. Its affecting my relationships my mood. Everything... Im a bundle of laughs eh?!
Currently nearly 4 weeks late. Neg tests x3. Blood test monday. Have thrown up, had oral thrush and heartburn. BUT so scared its coincidence... Body trickery. So all in all. Thats me now..

SESthebrave · 28/01/2012 19:12

BB - welcome back!!!

Kayz - Similar advice really... Take your pg vits as usual and add one Spatone in at the opposite end of the day. I think iron levels are underestimated in pregnancy but hopefully that should do the trick!

SESthebrave · 28/01/2012 19:14

Oh BB body trickery is the cruelest :(

It's so hard not to obsess when ttc, nevermind after 16mo. Have you been using OPKs or temping at all?

BBisbackwithaBABY · 28/01/2012 19:26

It is honestly driving me mad i go from Sad to Angry to Envy to Blush daily haha! I have got opks but not used them? Or not used them
Enough for them to work, depending on the result of monday I will give it all another go I suppose! I keep trying to take it lightly its just not so easy i suppose! Docs attitude not helpful! Have been taking agnus castus which is said to help..
