We've just rebooked the wedding for the 5th April. There is going to be just 15 people there and then we are going to renew the vows etc next year to have the big reception that we had planned. Grin

hellokittyrules · 16/01/2012 16:52

sounds good kay Grin

Diege · 18/01/2012 12:34

That sounds a good arrangement KAYZ, and so close now too. You must be very excited Smile
Tired today. After ds2 sleeping through the night for the last 2.5 weeks, he was a nightmare last night, awake for most of it. I'm sure it's to do with changing over to the big cot last night from moses basket. Will try plan B tonight and put moses basket in cot to get him used to the view Hmm. Never had this problem with the others!
Hope everyone is ok Smile

hellokittyrules · 18/01/2012 17:37

Diege · 19/01/2012 09:29

Hi TINKS! JUst wondering how long you kept the basket in the cot for? It seemed to work last night (slept through until 6) and am currently trying without the basket now for his naps. I was thinking 4/5 days, but if he settles well for naps just in the cot might try tonight like that too. I am very impatient!! Sounds like the bettaware is going well - must be hard work but good to get the orders and some spare cash Smile

Kayzr · 19/01/2012 09:49

Morning,

Tink I hope DD2 has a great birthday!

Diege I hope the moses basket in the cot works.

I have got my 20 week scan date for the 6th Feb, which seems a million miles away.

bumpsnowjustplump · 19/01/2012 10:10

Morning all.

DD2 is getting much better now. She is on Gaviscon for reflux which seems to help but also took her to Osteopath yesterday and my word is she more relaxed since. She has lots of problems it seems from birth and where her lungs collapsed and she obviously has been in a lot of pain. She will need about 3-4 sessions he thinks.

He started her treatment and releived a lot of preasure in her tummy and neck, and for the first time since she came out of hospital there was no screaming last night and no fussing. Usually she is upset from 6 till about midnight. All she would do was cry want to feed go on for a few mins then pull off and scream. Last night she fed at 7 slept till 9 fed then slept until 4.30. I am totally amazed and delighted! She is still in pain when feeding on her left side (so my right bood) and very unsettled but hope to sort all it out in future visits..

Wish I had gone weeks ago rather than just putting it down to colic, poor baby.

Anyhoo hope everyone is well. Diege hope ds2 sleeps better tonight and you get lots of naps. When do they need to come out of basket is it when they start rolling?

Kay good luck with scan and congrats with wedding do I need to buy a new hat? Wink

Hi to everyone else

Kayzr · 19/01/2012 16:34

Can I just run my birth ideas past you so I can get some opinions please?
DP is due home the day after I am due. We always knew there was a chance that he would be away and its a bit sad but we're fine with it. DS1 was 2 days late and DS2 was born on his due date. So if they are following a pattern this one will be 2 days early Grin

I would really like this one at home, I had DS2 at home and it was brilliant. But I am thinking that there will be the 2 boys at home. Hopefully in bed asleep or DS1 will at school and its just DS2 to worry about. I am not sure about birth partners yet. Probably be my Mum or my best friend. It does feel a bit weird thinking it will be one of them.

The other option is the new midwife led unit nearby. I say nearby but its about 30 minutes away. An hour at rush hour. I am tempted as I don't think I will be worrying about the boys as they will be with their Dad or my dad etc Also they have birth pools and I would love to have a water birth. They say that they aim to get people home between 2-6 hours after birth which would be lovely. But there is the problem that it is at the hospital where I had DS1 and I have said that unless I was about to die I never wanted to set foot in there again as a patient. But I suppose it isn't the same ward. Its next to it but its not the same IYSWIM

If I knew DP would definetly be at home there is no way I would even be considering going to the MLU and I would be having this one at home. But there is no guarentee that he will be here. But its that thought the boys will be here and I will be worrying about them. DS1's best friends Mum has said that if I need her even in the middle of the night then I can just ring her.

So what on earth do I do??

hellokittyrules · 19/01/2012 21:08

hi bumps - all sounds great Grin

hi diege - think we used basket in cot for a few wks

hi kayz - i would have baby at home as it sounds like that is what you really want
could your parents have boys then you know that they are safe and can relax

dd2 had a great bday luved all her pressies we went to aoft play in morn then out for lunch and had a birthday tea with cake

Moosy · 20/01/2012 09:56

Kayz, can't your boys go to your XH or your dad's while you have the baby at home if that's where they'd be if you were at the MLU?

Bumps, glad the Osteopath has helped, as you know they helped my DDs enormously, especially #2's reflux. If she's uncomfortable lying on her left could you do the rugby hold to feed her on your right side (tuck her under your arm so she's lying on her right side) just until she's been to a couple more appointments and is comfy on either side? So glad she's happier, the extra sleep must feel like heaven :)

Diege, I think we did about a week of basket in cot for DD3, the other 2 had the basket in the cot right from the beginning.

Mini celeberations in the Moosy household today, DD2 (nearly 5!) stopped wearing nappies 2 nights ago and stayed dry all night last night :o It's SO nice to have got rid of the horrid pullups at last and she's really pleased with herself, she looked like this :o this morning!

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 10:08

Hi Everyone

I wrote a mega post the other day and managed to hit back on my browser and lost the whole thing!

I?ve been reading and following what has happened despite being AWOL.

Kayz- wedding plans sound good. Re birth plans, I?d be tempted to stay with HB plans if it will make you most comfortable. Could you consider home water birth? Shame you are so far away, I?d have gladly lent you my pool in a box. It?s not really post- able. Box weighs a tonne! With water birth, your partner can stay at your head end and not get some involved in the stuff you might not want your friend / mum to see etc. I was in frog type position for most of labour and delivery so DH didn?t say anything at ?business end?

Ses- how are you? How many weeks now?

Diege- sorry to hear of bad night... hope the MB in the cot works well tonight.

Tink/ Kitty- hello  did you get many sales from your latest catalogue delivery?

Star/ Rugby ? how are your respective new SAHM roles going?

Bumps- you really have had a time of it- you are amazing to cope so well. You seem so calm. Glad to hear the treatments (gaviscon and osteopathy) have made a difference).

Moosy- how is the kitchen aid going? How big a mix can you make in the mixer? I?ve only ever done a small mix ? seems a bit pointless! Im yet to use the dough hook.

Hi to everyone else, Gruff, Cant, and anyone I missed ? sorry Blush

Things with me are good. Back in TTC saddle. And am on 2WW now. Except, its been a really odd cycle. Seems being off work over xmas with a different routine played havoc with my cycle!
I didn?t ovulate until day 24 or 26- if I did at all... I?ve been charting temps will post my chart in a minute. I cant decide if its promising or not!

Better get on, I am on a conference call and not listening!

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 10:10

HEre is my chart.

I actually think FF got my ovulation date (if it happened wrong). I think it was around about 9th Jan rather than later in the week. If I am right, I am about 9DPO with a hint of a triphasic pattern...

what do you think? HERE

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 10:11

ps this cycle I've been really strict about taking temps at the same time every day...

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 10:13

x post Moosy- congratulations to your dry girl! What a lovely achievement for her :)

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 10:17

I don't know about XH having them. I'm not 100% sure he would have them and wouldn't be able to have them overnight as he currently doesn't have a house and XMIL doesn't want them at hers anymore. So I need to ask him. But I really hope it doesn't come to him having them.

I know they would be welcome at my Mums. My brother and stepdad could look after them I guess. I am really hoping that this baby decides to be a few days late.

Ginger I think it looks quite good. I hope its a BFP month.

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 10:22

sounds like you'd be more relaxed if they were somewhere other than your xh. How sad that your x MIL doesnt want them at her house :( Im sure it will work out ok at the time.

Thanks for looking at the chart... :)

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 10:30

Which size birth pool did you use Ginger? I'm just having a look at them.

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 10:39

i had the regular sized one, I am 5foot 10. It was big in my lounge but i was glad of the space. especially towards end. When I hung onto the side with my legs out behind me. DH could have got in too but declined :)

The ability to fill it up is a big factor andthen maintain the hot temp... It gave my DH a job to worry about the temp constantly.. ( I was in it for 10hrs) but it was a pain if Im honest.

You can rent heated ones. I think Sorky uses those... there is a company in brighton that couriers them.

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 10:42

I'm 5foot 8 so worried that the mini one will be a bit small. I found somewhere to hire them for £80 but it has to be picked up within 3 days of birth and be completely put in the box tidily etc. Although its not much I can't see myself wanting to worry about it 3 days after birthGrin so might buy one.

Moosy · 20/01/2012 14:11

Ginger, the kitchenaid is ace! I've used it for a normal 4 egg mix which was fine with loadsof space, but I've also discovered that it's not big enough for a 12 egg mix (hardly surprising!) but I don't often go that big so that's ok! I think it'll probably be good up to about 8 eggs worth. I haven't used the dough hook yet either as we have a bread machine so I don't knead to use it for that (haha!). I mostly love it for its red shininess though Blush:)

Moosy · 20/01/2012 14:12

Kayz I think the company that Sorky used charged around £200 (not sure though) and they come and take it away iirc.

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 14:54

they were the ones I looked at, At Sorky's recommendatation.
Looked great but the hard sides to the pool put me off. not sure if thats reality or just in the pics.. The blowup pools were great for hanging over. I even dozed off between contractions!

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 15:02

moosy, what method do you use for your cakes? I tend to do creaming sugar/butter, then egg, then flour but its easy to over beat it.

Maybe all in one is better?

I do admit to dusting stroking mine regularly.

I've recently been look at the KA food processors but they are silly money for what they are.... :)

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 15:27

I have just put my practice wedding cake in the oven. I am a bit worried as the recipe said to seperate the eggs and whisk the egg whites to a soft peak and then add icing sugar.

Never made a cake like that before so fingers crossed.
