Kayz, I think Kitchenaid and Kenwood are similar in terms of what they do, but Kenwood are now made in China and Kitchenaid is made in the USA so the quality is better and it's easier to get parts.

Afternoon all well done on all scans.. So pleased for you all. Welcome back deige have missed you!!

Big day yesterday but all good.. DD has now been discharged by her respiritory theropist which is such good news. She also doesnt need to see the paediatrician any more... woooo hooo.

She also had her 8 week check and jabs. All ok there except she has reassigned us to hv as dd2 isn't symmetrical!! Hmm have never heard of this before but her arms should react and move symmetrically apparently but they dont. She also has a bug growing in her R eye but she has had that since hospital so no shock there.

Oh and although I am having issues bf and going to see a specialist tomorrow DD has managed to gain 2lbs since we left hospital and is now a whooping 12lb 14oz. Gold top in these boobies I think Wink or over supply as ticktok mentioned.

hope everyone is well

Diege · 10/01/2012 14:04

Hi BUMPS! Dd sounds just fine - never heard of assymetry before (surely we all are a little ? Confused. Sounds like you're doing sterling stuff on the bf Smile
MOOSY, thanks for link, looks very impressive and that it would certainly do the job! I'm a hand-whisk girl myself, but there again only do scones and banana bread Grin
TINKS, that sounds a blissful weekend!
SES/RUGBY def no broodiness - didn't notice the 'yet', tee hee, Freudian slip perhaps Wink Think it usually hits me at about the 10mth mark, but it will have to be of the super variety of broody feelings if it is to penetrate my shield of utter knackerdness/career panic/living in a disorgansied pig sty - itus.KAYZ, hope you're ok - must be tough with dp so far away xx
Time to get the little prince up - treated me to a 5am wake up this morning, so pushing it on the 'through the night' (oddly hv says they count 'through the night' as any stretch of 5 hrs' 12 to 5 is not my idea of a good night's sleep! Grin

bumpsnowjustplump · 10/01/2012 14:15

Hello diege did you have a nice christmas?

Not sure you know but dd2 was in hospital before christmas in HDU as her lungs failed and she was on a respirator for 8 days. Which is why the weight gain is great. Going to see a LC tomorrow so the problems I have with feeding should be sorted then as well..

It is tough with a small age gap I have just realised i have 3 under 5.... Blimey..

Diege · 10/01/2012 21:08

Oh no BUMPS I must have missed that - you poor thing, that must have been incredibly stressful! Was she back home for xmas?
Christmas was good here, though busy, and I was sort of dreading it tbh. As with most things though the thought is worse than the reality and I escaped relativedly unscathed!

Yay DP has arrived in Singapore. He doesn't sound too knackered considering it is almost 6am there.

DS2 is awake coughing his guts up so I think he will have to have a day off playschool.

2012hellokitty · 11/01/2012 11:45

kay - glad dp arrived safley
poor ds2

quiet day in with dd2 today Grin

Hi all!

Happy new year!

Bumps - great news about dd2 with the feeding. I hope she goes from strength to strength now, I'm sure she will with that gold top you are supplying her with :)

Tinks and cant your dds so cute on fb going to nursery :)

Ses and kayz great news on the scans!

Diege - sounds like you're handling being a mother of 5 rather superbly! No what you mean about that two year gap!

Rugby - I have the phil and teds 2010 model explorer and we love it. Still use it for ds1 when he is playing up etc. I put ds2 in the big seat and then ds1 hops in and out of the seat on the bottom. I don't bother strapping him in unless he is being naughty!(ds2 is 2yrs 9 months almost).the great thing about the new model is you can have the car seat on the top with the newborn facing you and stil have the lower seat attached at the back. You aren't supposed to do this with older models as it's unbalanced.

Moosy - I have the kitchen aid, but it's an original one from the 1960s. It looks exactly the same but a greeny yellow colour and less shiny but looks fab in the kitchen!especially as I like retro :) I have only made 1 cake in it so far!

All ok here. Getting ready to move again! Buying a house that needs a lot of work but in a great area with 3 outstanding schools and I'm so excited! Just waiting on the valuation and survey and then we can really get on and move. I can't wait.

Hi to star, ginger, and anyone else I missed!

bumpsnowjustplump · 12/01/2012 10:12

Hello all hope you are well.

DD2 has been given gaviscon for her silent reflux so will have to see if that helps at all. She screamed from 5 till 11.30 last night but then slept from 11.45 until 6.30, fed for half hour then went back to sleep. I had to wake her at quarter to 9 to do the school run. So all in all apart from the missery of the evening the night was great......

DD1 is learning about dinosaurs at school so today, the subject has really captured her imagination she loves it. Does anyone know of any good dinosaur books?

bumpsnowjustplump · 12/01/2012 10:13

this week not today doh

2012hellokitty · 12/01/2012 10:27

The baby is still not wanting to show it's bits off. Or anything else for that matter. Still got 80% chance of a girl though.

Hi TINKS! Good advice as always!
BUMPS, sound a tough evening - hope tonight has been better x
KAYZ, what a pain about the scan and your misbehaving bean!! Do you have another scheduled or is that it now till the birth?
We saw the consultant from Alder Hey today about Samuel's kidney - she seemed very positive, said the swelling was pretty mild (8mm, 'normal' is up to 5mm, abnormal seen as above 10mm so in a sort of grey area) and was 99% sure that his kidney function wouldn't be affected (he has his other one anyway Wink). She thinks it will resolve without any intervention, but will see us in clinic again after he is rescanned in 3-4 mths time. Very pleased!
Love to all x

Kayzr · 12/01/2012 22:59

Diege that's great about Samuel's kidney. I have a 20 week scan soon and then the MW wants me to have a growth scan at about 35 weeks and a presentation scan at 38 to check baby is in right position for home birth.

GingerbreadLatte · 13/01/2012 13:47

Hi everyone
Apologies for being AWOL. I want to do a proper post but never seem to have time.

Am lurking and reading... Will post soon

PS Moosy.... i definately appreciate the Kitchen aid joy!! Did you see the baker brothers making butter with theirs this week on Channel 4?

bumpsnowjustplump · 13/01/2012 16:53

Good news on Samuels kidney diege you must be so pleased.

DS had his first football session today and is now crashed out on the sofa... lol

DD2 will not take a bottle. So annoyed as she has gaviscon to take and I cant get it into her.. Tried everything today spent an hour expressing and she just wouldn't take it.... any suggestions of how I can get gaviscon down her without a bottle greatly appreciated.

Hope everyone is well

GingerbreadLatte · 13/01/2012 17:02

could you use a syringe Bumps?

Kayzr · 13/01/2012 17:35

Bumps I was going to say syringe too. Or I know some people use a cup but I'm not sure how they do it.

2012hellokitty · 13/01/2012 21:26

Diege · 14/01/2012 07:53

Morning! S slept through again last night, having to wake him at 7am for a feed. However, ds1 and dd3 both woke up around 4ish Angry. I swear they all conspire to see whose turn it is! Made dh deal with both though, so am giving him a lie-in now Wink
BUMPS, def recommend the syringe. Direct it right at the back of the cheek otherwise she may 'hold it' and spit out (I'm sure you know all this!) I had to give dd1 ABs from birth this way (bf) and it's pretty easy to do, though a bit nervewracking the first time!
TINKS what did you splurge on from Very? Grin
Hi GING! I have been awol too Grin - how are things going?
KAYZ, they may have better luck at the 20wk then hopefully Smile
Right, they're up now and demanding Oliver Twist dvd on Hmm so back later x

Moosy · 14/01/2012 13:38

Bumps, mix it in a small pot or lid from a bottle, then use a syringe. Direct it into her cheek so it doesn't choke her, but as Diege says, quite far back do she can't spit it out. I know the instructions say give it after a feed but I always did it before and that seemed to work well.
