Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

What's all this chat and lack of tumbleweed? Grin

Ginger - I think your chart looks promising and agree that FF could be wrong on your ov date. When will you test?

Kayz - great news about wedding. Hope the cake turns out well!
Would you consider having your mum and your friend both over for the birth? They can vary who is with you and who is with the boys. A friend if mine had four of her six DC at home in this way and even the young ones understood that mummy was busy and needed them to be good and play with Granny. She lived the fact that her other DC could come and meet their new sibling within minutes if them being born.

Moosy - yay for DD2!

Bumps - that sounds fantastic with DD2! I agree, you sound very calm considering everything you've been through in the last few weeks.

Hello tink, Diege, Star, Rugby, Gruff, Smithy and anyone else around :)

All fine with me - just busy as ever! Will be 22 weeks on Sunday! Planning a trip to the inlaws in Ireland for a few days in Feb. DH is insisting we go by ferry so we can take anything and have our car over there. It's 5 hrs to Fishguard though with an hour to check in and board the ferry, ferry sails at 2.45am, takes 4hrs and then 90 mins the other side!!! Not fun!
I also had my purse stolen last week which I stupidly found v upsetting. Have treated myself to a new one today though and just waiting for my replacement bank cards. Need to replace the photos I had in it, sentimental wotsit that I am!

Finally, I'm planning on putting DS in pants during the day from Subday onwards!! We'll stay at home for the day and I've bought stickers and a new toy to help. Any tips from those more experienced? Fingers crosses!!

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 16:47

Ses I hope that all goes well with the pants. I am planning to do that during the week off in February so we don't have to leave the house.
Its rubbish about your purse!

GingerbreadLatte · 20/01/2012 16:56

Ses- that really is rubbish about the purse being stolen,. How did it happen?

22 wks!! Shock Irish trip sound good though ferry trip sound long and involved. Guess it might be more enjoyable for DS? Good luck with the pants. I dont have tips really. I just went at it in the same way. I think its very much child dependent. :) Good luck though.

Not sure re testing. As cycle was odd, I dont have an AF due date. Defo after monday.... as that was the day, 14days ago that I had most EWCM and day we did the deed. Might wait til wednesday though. Assuming no pre AF spotting- that has got in the way every time and hampered my testing plans (Ie indicating that AF is enroute so making it pointless). TBH, I am very unsure, it was weird cycle with weird EWCM patterns and less volume than usual.

Kay- let us know how the cake turns out. Ses has a good point re both of them there at your house for the birth... Its good to start planning early though.

hellokittyrules · 20/01/2012 20:56

agree ses too much chat and not enough tumbleweed Wink

kay - good luck with finding a birthing pool and with making the cake
ses - Sad at having purse taken!!
good luck with ds and pants!! - i tried bracken to start with just in the house but found she had accidents so used pull upsand kept asking her if she needed to go
then a mnth later put her in pants no problem has been fine since
and also wow at 22wks !!
trip sounds gd

tomorrowwe r off to basingstoke to bear factory

SESthebrave · 20/01/2012 21:11

tink - glad DD2 had a good birthday :)

Ginger - purse being stolen was my own fault really. I was visiting a store and put my bag and coat in their consultation room so it wasn't in the way in the dispensary. Half an hour later, someone said that there was an addict waiting in the consultation room for their daily pick up and later I noticed my purse had gone. No proof but I'm pretty sure the addict must have taken it. Most stores have a few addict patients on daily pick ups but not many stores let them just walk straight in to the consultation room unsupervised. Well, I won't be leaving my bag in one again!
Not looking forward to the ferry trip to be honest. On the way over, hopefully DS will sleep a fair bit. We leave home at 7pm and have a 4-berth cabin on the ferry which leaves at 2.45am. Hoping he won't wake up properly when we transfer him! We should get to ILs about 8am!

Moosy · 21/01/2012 11:22

Ses, every time I remember that you're pg it makes me :o, after the MCs and difficulties you've had I know what a big deal it is for you :)

Ginger, I do the same as you: cream butter and sugar, gently beat in eggs (with a bit of flour to stop it curdling), then I fold the flour in by hand, just giving it a very gentle whizz at the end to make sure it's definitely all mixed in. I sometimes do the all in one method if it's just for us but I do find it doesn't rise so well that way. Oh and yes, mine is the only consistantly dust-free thing in the whole house!

hellokittyrules · 21/01/2012 15:53

hi ladies we have had a great sat for dd2s bday went to basingstoke on the train in build a bear girls chose a pink cat each we had lunch in pizza hut

SESthebrave · 22/01/2012 10:36

Moosy - that brought a tear to my eye :) Thank you! It means a lot to everyone when they want to be pg to get pg but I guess I've had a little rollercoaster along the way!

tink - build a bear sounds good!

GingerbreadLatte · 22/01/2012 19:33

Evening all

Tink, bday fun sounds good!

Ses, agree with Moosy-it's brilliant :) how is the training going?

Moosy, I tried all in one yesterday and it worked well for small fairy cakes. So quick!

Update here re 2ww. Had cold/cough thing that has made me a bit fever-y today so it's skewing my temps possibly. On positive side, no pre AF spotting yet, low down cramping and boobs that are aching a fair bit. It's the actual boob not nipples - is that normal? I thought it was nips that were sore first? I can't remember!

I'm going to go cautious and wait as long as I can to test...... Tbh, I'm actually bit scared of it being bfn after a few encouraging signs..... Slap me pleased....

see my chart

SESthebrave · 22/01/2012 20:12

Thanks Ginger :)

If I slap you, I need to slap myself too as I'm very hopeful for you - eek!!

However - eek!!!

Potty training had v mixed results on day1. There doesn't seem to be an issue with poos but wees he only seems to realise he's about to do less than a second before and so we had quite a few accidents. Potty 6 v accidents 7 Hmm I'll persevere for the next few days and hope the girls at nursery won't get too frustrated! (They're pretty good and have said that they're happy to help the training :) )

GingerbreadLatte · 23/01/2012 07:34

Morning all

...Its like as soon as I mention how good things are looking it immediately stops anything... got spotting this AM so tested and its BFN.

Guess my chart is a big old tease. Sad

Even if FF is right and I am 10 dpo today, we only GOF'd the once that week on the monday so unless its super sperm.... its unlikely. I just dont understand the chart in that case though..

GingerbreadLatte · 23/01/2012 07:35

Ses-well done on the potty training. I think that sounds like good progress. Especially with poo, as that can be harder to get I think....

Well done DS!

hellokittyrules · 23/01/2012 09:48

bkmrg

ginger - sorry for bfn

hi to eeryone else

Diege · 23/01/2012 10:20

Morning! Aw GING I'm really sorry about the bfn Sad The chart did indeed look hopeful. I suppose the spotting couldn't be the fabled implantation, meaning you wouldn't get a bfp until a few days later? How was your temp today?
SES, potty training is indeed tough. I was lucky with dds 1&2 that nursery offered to do it for me Blush and it worked a treat. Far harder with dd3 and haven't started yet with ds1. I think I did as TINKS did with them from memory - used pull-ups ( I know some people say don't) as the accidents were getting frustrating for everyone. Worked quite well. Another tip I found useful was to wear pants inside pull-ups when out and about, so that they feel the wetness but you don't get the mess! Good luck!
Nights still a nightmare here, with ds2 waking for about 10 mins every hr. I'm sure it's the cot, so have ordered so breathable bumpers to make th cot seem 'cosier' Hmm. How I wish I had used a cot from day 1! Moses basket far too small now, so have no choice to just see it through till he gets used to it.
Love to everyone else - TINKS, MOOSY, RUGBY, KAYZ (I would go for the home birth) and anyone else lurking!

GingerbreadLatte · 23/01/2012 10:49

Hi Diege
Sorry about night wakings. Can you try swaddling DS2? that might help the transition from mbasket to cot?

Thanks for sympathies... temp was still up this morning so chart, in theory still looks good.... time will tell I guess.

Am just bored of it now and its only been 4 cycles!

Moosy · 23/01/2012 12:21

Ginger, I agree your chart does look very good, the spotting is confusing though of course it could well be implantation (I had it once out of 3 pgs) so I guess there's nothing to do but wait it out Confused and test again if no AF in a couple of days? Fingers crossed for you!

Diege · 23/01/2012 12:44

Thanks GING - did do the swaddling when newborn, and then changed to underarm swaddling at 8 weeks as per current guidelines. Now have him in a grobag, with sheet tucked over so that the same sensation is created of being swaddled Hmm. Have just put 'safe' cot bumper on - no doubt that will seem new now to his fussiness, so not sure what tonight will bring. He's always settled well for daytime naps in the cot, which is odd - I suppose the night is a lot longer though!
Hi MOOS! How are things with you?

GingerbreadLatte · 23/01/2012 12:58

Thanks Moosy. Will hang on... how much implant bleeding did you get?

Diege- thats interesting about the swaddling guidlines.. I kept DD swaddled til nearly 5 months! mainly because she didnt roll or crawl... im sure my HV would have spun on the spot !

Kayzr · 23/01/2012 13:21

Ses I'm glad the potty training is going well. DS2 is utterly hopeless. He's not interested in the potty at all.

Diege sorry DS2 keeps waking up. I hope you can find something that works.

Ginger I hope it's an implantation bleed and you get a bfp soon Smile

Diege · 23/01/2012 13:33

Hi KAYZ! On potty training, I'm loath to start with ds1 as have hands full at present. I feel very guilty though as he keeps on saying 'I need the toilet' and I reply, don't be silly, wee in your nappy Blush. Sod's law eh. Having said that, when I have given in and sat him on it (which I tend to do when I have my hands free) he just sits there, does nothing, declares 'finished!' and gets off. Will start come spring definitely!
MOOS, I was the same re: swaddling with the dds. ds2 would actually squirm all night in his swaddle until his hand was out, but the girls loved it and it really seemed to settle them.

Diege · 23/01/2012 13:34

Sorry, meant to reply re: swaddling to GING!

hellokittyrules · 23/01/2012 16:30

ging temps still sounds gd
i had implantation with dd2 got bfn 10 dpo and bfp at 14 dpo
spotting for me was a tiny bit of brown

hi kay and diege Grin
was so lucky with potty training with dd2 (my mum actually did it while me and hubby were) just put her in pants
i had tried a mnth before kept hvng accidents!!
dd1 was alot more stressful!!!

Moosy · 23/01/2012 17:36

Ginger, I had enough to think that AF had started for a day. The next day it went, I was texting Sorky saying I was confused and she suggested I tested which I did and got a v faint line (ebay cheapy).

Hi Diege, I've done that too when I've been too busy for convoluted toilet trips! DD3 has been getting very good in the past few days, asking for the toilet a few times and will normally 'perform' if I ask her to. She's still very much in nappies but I think I might try her in knickers in a few weeks.

GingerbreadLatte · 25/01/2012 07:01

There will be no honk from me this week. Sad Temperature right down and spotting increased- I expect tomorrow to be CD 1.

No idea what happened with that that, right to Sunday I had pain in boobs and other symptoms that i've never had before....

Must be do with it being a weird cycle.

hellokittyrules · 25/01/2012 09:49

Sad ginger

dd1 poorly Sad
was sick from 11pm lastnite
