hi ladies

new thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
McKayz · 31/05/2012 13:45

Afternoon,

MW has just been to do the home birth risk assesment. She is a bit worried that there isn't quite enough room for the pool. So I have to spend the weekend trying to rearrange the front room and hope it fits properly.

Baby is 1/5th engaged!! I know it doesn't mean too much but I know that subsequent babies don't usually engage until just before labour.

BBisTitanium · 01/06/2012 07:13

Oh kayz that will be a fun weekend!
I am off to do booking in this morning Smile

Starshinetiger · 01/06/2012 08:31

Morning all.
Good luck with booking in appointment today BB.
Good luck with MW today Ses.
So, I'm obviously officially bored this morning.... Not with lack of stuff to do, more with lack of energy to do any of it, but also the sure fire guarantee that while as long as I am sat being lazy, the DC will play nicely, as soon as I get stuck into jobs they will start fighting and or immediately require my attention GrinWink
So, I have calculated our average daily posting on this thread to be 5.96 posts per day. That means that you nearing/past due date ladies have 20.44 days left to give birth on this thread... Entirely doable, unless we all bump up the post rates to get those babies out GrinWink

On that note I will leave you all to go about your day Grin

SESthebrave · 01/06/2012 09:33

Star - that made me chuckle! It is sod's law though isn't it that if you go to try and do something productive, the DC suddenly be one demanding. As for 20 days to ensure we pop on this thread, I'll be popping at some point in the next 10 days thank you very much but preferably today sooner :)
Just seen that Chris Evans and his wife have had their baby this morning. Have they not heard there's an orderly queue? They were due a whole day after me!

BB - hope booking in goes ok.

Kayz - good luck shuffling things around!

Kay good luck moving furniture
Good luck with tops
Hi to anyone else Grin
Inset day here so chaos here work later

SESthebrave · 01/06/2012 13:59

Ok so had enough now! Saw MW & baby in good position low down but still no sign of labour. Because of CS last time they won't book an induction or CS without me seeing Dr at hospital. Bank Holiday means no appointments til next Wednesday so I've to go to hospital tomorrow at 10.30am and wait til the one Dr on duty is free to see me and agree a plan! They don't know when Dr will be free though so could need to wait "a number of hours" to be seen! Oh well, guess it will be out one way or another in the next 10 days!

BBisTitanium · 01/06/2012 16:48

ses sympathies!

star sounds a plan!

Booking took an hour an have to go and have bloods done separately Hmm went to friends today and discovered our versions of short distances are vastly different... Went for a walk for hours /miles over rough terrain with DS in buggy (leg) now have killer belly pain like period pain and am scared I've done myself some damage BlushSad

Starshinetiger · 01/06/2012 16:50

Oh Ses, poor you!
I prescribe some afternoon football with DS, followed by curry for dinner, pineapple for dessert, all washed down with gallons of raspberry leaf tea (eaten/drunk appropriately early so that you can then follow up with some GOFing with DH tonight and I know that many ladies on here recommend nipple-tweaking too!)
Of course you might still want to see the doctor tomoorrow too Grin
Hope you've got a good book/magazine to hand for tomorrow morning and that the doc isn't too long!

Starshinetiger · 01/06/2012 16:52

Cross posts BB. Poor you. Hope you can rest up and that DP is home soon to look after DS for you.

BBisTitanium · 01/06/2012 16:54

Thanks star, dp home have had a nice shower now laid down and pain fading... Think its probably fine? Confused hope so!

SESthebrave · 01/06/2012 17:05

Thanks - just feeling a bit frustrated with the fact that the whole of the NHS seems to run on minimal for weekends and BHs. I keep thinking if that was at work and a patient came in wanting a prescription, we'd be laughed out of town and out of business if we said they'd have to wait because it was the weekend!
Have been on gym ball for a couple of hours between sorting out washing. MW did show me some accupressure points so I'll be trying those too!

BB - I'm sure you won't have done any damage but take it easy this evening!

Anyone got any good plans for the weekend?

BBisTitanium · 01/06/2012 17:27

Aw ses i feel your pain as it were, my Due date will be circa 7/1, and as i will be delivered around 38 weeks im concerned as it will be right on christmas! I get obviously that staff have lives etc but when it affects you its hard not to feel put out!

Think you are right about pains just scared myself, definitely wont be doing it again!

SESthebrave · 02/06/2012 13:15

Well still waiting to see Dr. MW has had me on monitor and all ok. Also did a sweep. Can I ask those of you with more knowledge about these things, is it normal to bleed immediately afterwards? I don't think it was v encouraging though as MW said cervix closed and posterior although getting soft.

DH thinks I should just ask for a CS but I'm in 2 minds because of the recovery afterwards. Also not sure I have the option! MW seems to think Dr will book me in for an induction on Wednesday.

tinkcantwaittomove · 02/06/2012 13:43

tinkcantwaittomove · 02/06/2012 13:47

Ses good luck Wink
Bb hope all ok
Grin

SESthebrave · 02/06/2012 16:15

Feeling quite pissed off and down now but I guess that's normal.

When Dr came round MW changed her mind slightly and said that cervix is posterior although a bit soft and perhaps 1cm dilated. Still not overly encouraging!
Induction booked for next Friday but obviously I'm hoping I go into labour before that.

Within minutes of getting in the car to come home, MIL was on the phone asking if there was any progress (only spoke to her yesterday) and after my SIL texted me, I texted her back casually asking if she and my brother had anything planned this weekend and she replied saying "We were hoping to come and see the new baby". I know she didn't mean to come across as I took it but hey, I'm pg, overdue and hormonal! To top it off, DH stopped off at a petrol station on the way home and bought some food for tea and a chocolate bar for him. Where was my chocolate bar?! Oh, he forgot, even though he'd had lunch and I'd been telling him I was starving as I hadn't! Oops - sorry - I do sound a bit dramatic and hormonal!

BBisTitanium · 02/06/2012 16:29

All ok thanks tink but def not over doing it again Grin

Ses Sad dh is an arse for forgetting your choc, whole situation sounds horrid and uncomfy have an unwagonly [hug]

lastboxoftampons · 02/06/2012 18:59

Oh Ses I'm so sorry, you sound so uncomfortable! I know it's no comfort but the longest this could possibly go on for is another week. Did you ask the midwife and/or consultant about the bleeding? Could it be the beginning of a show? Was it just blood or mucousy as well? Maybe your plug? Hope things start moving now.

Had cd3 blood drawn on Thursday so we'll see what that turns up. Though I suspect it will be a big fat nothing. I guess that's what's most frustrating. Last time, blood tests showed nothing abnormal and DS's SA was mostly normal. Frustrating. We're just not a particularly fertile couple I think :(

SESthebrave · 02/06/2012 19:20

Thanks LBOT and BB - feeling v frustrated and trying not to take it out on DH, hence venting here.

She did say the bleeding could be a show but it's not really been mucousy so I don't think so. Still bleeding a little. DH doing better this evening - did a bbq, then bath with DS and now doing DS's bedtime.

LBOT - I guess if they find nothing it's good if frustrating. I sympathise - it took 18mo to get pg with DS and just over a year this time. It feels like it's never going to happen and it's very easy for others to reassure and tell you it will, but the liklihood is that it will, especially since you have the gorgeous T already :)

Gingerbreadlatte · 02/06/2012 19:34

Hi Grin

Ses. Sorry for frustration. As per an earlier post by Star, a GoF might be well timed now your are slightly dilated. If you can bare it that is. Not the best/ easiest thing to do at 41 odd wks. ! But i swore thats what got me going with DD.

Glad DH has sprung into life later today. In sending over some icecream and chocolate. Grin

Lbot- agree with Ses that no finding is probably a good thing but it would be good to get some answers. Are you temping via fertility friend ?

Bb. Sounds uncomfortable. Hope that it's better today.
Hi star, tink and everyone.

Ps star, your posting analysis made me laugh!

Gingerbreadlatte · 02/06/2012 19:35

That's I'm sending over .....

lastboxoftampons · 02/06/2012 19:47

Thanks guys. Ginger yes, I'm temping and I've just gotten a friend's cbfm for this month. I think it's just kind of disappointing that having babies just takes us a while I guess. We waited so long to ttc #2 to make sure we were entirely ready given the other things we ave going on in our lives. Just kind of pisses me off that we could've been shagging worry free this whole time! Not to mention all the money we could've saved on condoms! Wink

Ses one thing that does keep me going - I keep telling myself to enjoy having jut one dc in the meantime. May be even more poignant given you're SO close to having two. More cuddles with O are just what the dr ordered! :)

McKayz · 03/06/2012 12:30

I feel awful today. I don't know if baby has dropped down or if I am having a shit day but it really really hurts to walk or stand up. Loads of pain in my left hip too. Loads of braxton hicks since I woke up too.

I hope this is the beginning of the end. Providing she holds on until my Mum gets home tomorrow.

Gingerbreadlatte · 03/06/2012 19:42

hi

Kayz- how are you feeling now? fingers crossed its the start of something (but only when your mum arrives. How did the living room rearrangement go to fit in the pool?
