Hope u feel abit better now
Bb thanks

Gingerbreadlatte · 29/05/2012 08:48

Kayz - sorry for yesterday, hope today is better. Man who said that is unbelievable!

Hi Tink

BB- hooray for the MW appt finally! Glad you are going to be scanned a few times- helps re-assurance :)

Thanks for asking :)

I've been better to be honest. Feel very self indulgent saying this -but am feeling so down over the past few days. Combo of things really getting me down and I know that really shouldnt be. Work which is so full on, SPD, lack of life due to total exhaustion (no idea why but its worse than 1st trimester) and SPD. I just dont think I'm coping atm. Its utterly pathetic esp at 17wks. No idea what I will be doing come 30wks!

Going to go and throw some cold water over myself... :)

SESthebrave · 29/05/2012 09:37

Morning! (Still here!)

Ginger - ((((hugs)))) Have you had your iron levels checked at all? I noticed a huge improvement in energy levels after taking them.

Kayz - hope today is better

Hello tink, Star, BB, LBOT and anyone else lurking!

Gingerbreadlatte · 29/05/2012 09:51

Thanks Ses- Grin iron not checked since 12wk scan bloods done in April so might be worth getting it done, or just taking some iron tabs regardless.

Glad you are still here! is the MW threatening a sweep yet? :)

So exciting all this waiting - for us anyway.

SESthebrave · 29/05/2012 09:59

MW appointment on Friday when I'll be 40+5. She said she'd make an appointment for me to have a sweep at the hospital at that point. Not sure if I'd then have to wait until the following Wednesday after the BH, to get that appointment...

Gingerbreadlatte · 29/05/2012 10:19

ooh so exciting! time has seemed to fly through your pregnancy- for me anyway!

SESthebrave · 29/05/2012 14:59

So been feeling decidedly odd for the last 20 mins. Not really in an I'm in labour way though.

Feeling a but light-headed and shaky. Checked BP on DH's monitor and that's normal. Had decent size lunch about an hour ago so shouldn't be lacking in energy. Have a glass of water beside me and now sat on sofa, having been on gym ball for about 90mins on and off earlier.

Will wait and see....

Gingerbreadlatte · 29/05/2012 15:22

ooh exciting
take it easy. Can you get a nap?

SESthebrave · 29/05/2012 15:40

Waiting for washing to finish which needs to go out on the line (DS's sheet I need for tonight!) but resting on sofa. Had a few tightenings but nothing really distinguishable that I'd say was a contraction. Could still be weeks days away!

Starshinetiger · 29/05/2012 16:44

Oooh! Exciting Grin shall keep watching...
Ginger - sorry you're feeling bad. I second Ses' recommendation and would say get yourself to the doctor - being pg is only 9 months out of your working life so you need to put yourself first for that 9 months. I did feel better when I got my iron tablets... When I remembered to take them! I found pg2 much harder than pg1 so do sympathise.

BBisTitanium · 29/05/2012 17:36

Hi all!!
Kayz hope today was better!
Ses eeek Grin hopefulky this is it!
Ginger in with ses and star defo get your iron done, mine will be done every month according to MW, hope you are feeling better soon!
Star any news?

DS did 3 wees on the toilet today! Not bad for first ever time and he asked to go! Very proud of him!

Ginger if you are bad feeling bad at 17 weeks im 8+1 and seriously already looking forward to mat leave!! Im so so bored in this new job... This is going to sound bad but there has ben no structure in the dept until now so what i have to do is difficult but also boring?! And i constantly wonder what is thought of me! Oh well!

I had an argument about manners with a woman today... I blame the heat!!Blush

McKayz · 29/05/2012 17:45

Hello,

Ooooh Ses I hope this is it!!! It has to be as I'm waiting for you to pop before I do Grin

Ginger You're allowed to be down now and then.

I need to take iron. I have tablets to pick up which I keep forgetting about. I have spatone in the cupboard though so I might just get the tablets but take the spatone.

I am utterly fed up. It has been cloudy here but still really hot. I can not get cool at all and been feeling a bit dizzy. I imagine I am probably a bit dehydrated.

Hope you are all well

SESthebrave · 29/05/2012 18:47

Sorry ladies, it's all calmed down and I'm feeling better...

Had to go and get DS from nursery. It was his key worker's last day today and she cried saying goodbye :( It's also the last week at nursery for 2 of his best friends. He will still see them outside of nursery but that's quite a bit of change for him at nursery at the same time as the baby is due so I hope he takes it all in his stride!

Dd1 has her jubilee party on thurs hv hot her blue dress with yellow and white flowers on
My bday is a week today getting excited same day as jubilee and big bro starts
Going to go to marwell

Gingerbreadlatte · 30/05/2012 07:22

Ses- How are things this morning?

Random that the sweep is done at the hospital. I always thought that the MWs were itching to slide on a glove and have a dig about!
I hope that DS is ok without his key worker and small friends. He may well resond better than you expect. . We've had similar recently with the key worker and we've also moved DDs 'group' at nurseryfor various reasons. She is now with the older kids- and doing really well with different friends to play with. I think the change has been great for her.

Tink- parties sound good. Grin

BB- I know what you mean about maternity leave!

Thanks guys- iron tablets it is.. will get some later and see how it goes. I am really trying "bucket of cold water" approach and its working mostly
KAyz- love having permission to feel a bit off. Grin made me really think its ok sometimes :)
Star- thanks for your comments re work, I'm doing my best to turn down the effort etc but mostly I cant just do that due to my exisiting responsibilities and the type of work I do . I've been doing 3d of WFH a week which helps with avoiding early morning starts and driving. Im looking fwd to a quiet week next week when most people are off for half term! Plus I have 2 wks off coming up soon Grin

SESthebrave · 30/05/2012 07:44

Morning!
No further signs overnight (unless a dream about being in the early stages of labour is anything to go by!)

Ginger - everyone is allowed bad days and even more when pg Grin
2 weeks off sounds great. Have you anything planned other than chillaxing?

McKayz · 30/05/2012 18:47

Ses and Ginger and everyone who breastfed last time. What did you wear? I am really hoping it works out this time but am unsure what to wear.

I've seen several posts about wearing a vest under a normal top instead of the special breastfeeding tops you can buy. But I'm a bit worried about the heat. If we have a hot summer how do you wear 2 tops?

SESthebrave · 30/05/2012 19:59

I did do the 2 tops thing quite a bit and it worked well. If I was just at home in my own and it was hot, I'd take the top on top off and just lift the one left letting my belly hang out! Or actually i do remember sone really hot days when I'd just wear my bra at home! It really didn't matter as long as there were no visitors :)
You can get some specific BFing clothes but I found the holes didn't always line up properly and it was just an expensive outlay when the vest tips were so much easier and cheaper!

Absolutely no further signs of anything happening today. Ho hum....in your own time LO!

Gingerbreadlatte · 30/05/2012 20:00

HI Kayz
I think I went for the multi layer thing at the start when i was getting used to it.. Soon both DD and I knew what we were doing andit was soon hot weather so I went for one top and usually used a muslin over my shoulder as DD had habit of exposing me in public.:)

I found the purpose built BF tops a bit of waste of money personally.

My fav double layer thing at first was a vest (poss BF one with amusing holes in it!) and a shirt, gave more privacy.

A nice shawl might be good for the summer too?

McKayz · 30/05/2012 20:07

Thank you both. Smile

I will go for the layer trick then. I have been looking at BF tops and non seem all that nice and they are so obviously BF tops.

I did order some shawls today from ebay for BF. They were just cheap ones but I thought they'd do for hiding under if needs be.

Gingerbreadlatte · 30/05/2012 20:26

I found shawl type scarfs essential when i wanted to first BF in public. Really helped me otherwise I'd never have had the confidence.

:) look at this lovely thread

Moosy · 30/05/2012 21:16

I had bump bands which I wore all through pg, so I kept them on as it meant I could lift up a normal top and keep my flabby rolls hidden!

lastboxoftampons · 31/05/2012 13:40

Hello everyone :)

Ses so exciting! You're going to have a jubilee baby! Grin when s/he grows up you can tell him/her about all of the flags and bunting that was around when they were born! How are you feeling today?

Ginger poor you! Of course you're allowed to feel down! I hope you're managing to take it easy a bit xx

Kayz I remember feeling more exposed in BFing tops than in reg t-shirts so didn't really bother with them either.

Hi Tink, BB and anyone else around! :)
