Happy new year ladies (bit delayed)!

Big congratulations to both pink and brownwolf great to hear your all doing well.

Welcome bignorkz lol at you not packing bag yet I haven't done mine either but not due till 25th.

Re stats list could someone put me back on as seem to have got lost somewhere - due on 25th team yellow. Thank u! Don't trust doing it on my iPhone.

Trying best to keep up on thread now I haven't got lessons to plan etc I officially start may leave tomorrow yipee! Going to pack my bags and start preparing the nursery as feel behind with it all.

Sweats during the night here too having to sleep in just pants to cool down.

Still don't think I've had any hb's yet wish something would happen, had no spd or bad heartburn this time round which makes me wonder if I'm having a girl? Still gagging every morning though but it's worsened with my cold and cough which is easing up thank god.

Where did u all get wardrobe for nursery from as I think they are really overpriced in the sets, thinking of going to ikea to get cheaper option ad no way I'll pay over £200 for a baby wardrobe!

Got two appointments tomorrow one at VBAC clinic and other with mw. Also booked in for elcs if baby hasn't arrived by 40+12 as induction won't be happening as failed last time. So I could end up with a February baby argh!!!

Sorry some of you are feeling so fed up (((big hugs)))

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 17:27

bhm Done, though I couldn't remember if you had other DC...

addicted. I hope you're ok. DD will be fine too, she's just worried for you.

BigHotMama · 02/01/2012 17:54

Thanks oeisha yes have a 5 yr old ds so no.2 for me Smile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 18:00

puked up about half a litre of neat stomach acid, took some Gaviscon - felt better enough to manage a light supper. Stoopid stoopid pregnancy. I want my body back

On the plus side my mum is coming up tomorrow (when DH starts back at work) to help me with some housework and generally entertain and distract me for a couple of days, bless her.

Ok - tried (not all on one day, I don't have the energy!) curry, sex, a long(ish) walk, bouncing on the birthing ball, housework, none of them worked. Any more suggestions?

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 18:02

Oh! I was right! I'll go back and re-do minus the "?" at some point. Trying to make dinner, which I thought was curry, but is bol. Confused

cakes clary sage massage and prayer???

ghosteditor · 02/01/2012 18:06

Ewwwww gross! Hope you feel better now though cakes?

I suspect that not much will encourage a reluctant baby to come along, sadly! Might try a bit of fit ball bouncing myself this evening though, and DH came home (grinning) with two pineapples today Grin

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 18:08

ghost save the pineapples for a bout of anger and stuff in DH where the sun don't shine when the attack hits...hehehe!

ghosteditor · 02/01/2012 18:10

Grin I'll save them in case he tries to deny me access to cake or some other marital infraction - though he has been wonderful for the last couple of weeks Smile

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 02/01/2012 18:12

eek - the thought of pineapple in my raw stomach atm the moment

Might send DM out for that clary sage tomorrow though - could do with a massage and bringing on labour would be a mega benefit.

FrillyMilly · 02/01/2012 18:20

Cakes I've been feeling nauseous on and off for a few days. I remember throwing up at some point in labour. It wasnt at the beginning though cos it was in hospital. I haven't had lucozade since!!!

Karmanna · 02/01/2012 18:32

Belated happy new year to you all! So exciting that most of us will hopefully have our babies before the end of this thread!

Got my 38w mw app tomorrow. Last time Duckie was 4/5 engaged, but he's been moving so much the last couple of days so I fear he might have turned round again. Will have to see what they say tomorrow...

I'm so fed up of this pregnancy marlarkey now - he can't come soon enough! I've been having mild period pains and feeling a bit sick, but it may be the fact he's squeezing my insides rather than a sign of labour!

Any suggestions for activities to do when all the nesting and bag-packing is done? Can't even go for walks as my back caves in but I think I'm going to be really bored when DH goes back to work tomorrow. Did manage to go for a short walk round Camden Market today and then DH took me for a nice lunch - probably our last before Duckie arrives!

Is there anyone on this thread in London who doesn't drive. I'm researching cab companies to take me to hospital when I go into labour and my local company has a policy not to take women in labour - apparently because of some insurance issue, but I think it's more a case of not wanting a mess in their cabs! Hmm

Anywho, hope you're all doing well despite aches and pains! Hopefully not for much longer!

addictediam · 02/01/2012 18:46

Back home now, they dont think its pe but still waiting on some test results. They also think I have a uti so am waiting to hear results of urine tests.
Am feeling much better now I'm home and dd is here, apparently she was fine while I was gone Hmm but when I picked her up she had clearly been crying and started again as soon as she saw me. She's being very clingy now so were curled up on the sofa watching itng.

Cakes sick feelings on and off here too. It can be a sign of labour starting or some women get morning (ha!) sickness in the last few weeks. I sort of threw up in labour with dd. I was holding her at the time and had to hand her on to dh so I could spew my guts up :o

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 18:56

Glad to hear you're home addicted, rest up... enjoy your snuggles with DD.

shonnomanom · 02/01/2012 19:13

karma there is an active thread about taxis and labour in London. HTH

cakes poor you x

Sickness - In the last few weeks iv been sick in my mouth a few times, which isnt too pleasant. Figured it was an end of pregnancy thing. Didnt have it last time. Although last time I was in cakes position.

No matter how much I eat today Im full, ready to explode. Starving but cant eat enough to keep hunger away. We postponed dinner by an hour as I was full from having a cuppa tea Hmm Possible sign or just clutching at straws?

Cant help on the wardrobe front bhm as we have built-in cupboards. Think Ikea would be a good place to try though.

Addicted glad that their ruling out PE. Your dd is probably picking up on the hightened emotion in the house this week with you getting these tests. Some quality Mummy/Daughter time should help calm her, poor thing x

BigHotMama · 02/01/2012 19:17

karmanna just thought if a few:
Read a good book
Pedicure or manicure (or both)
Swim
Girly lunch
Watch a film
Haircut
Make something for baby?
Back/foot rub off dh
Download 'words with friends' scrabble game (I'm addicted)
Start a journal for baby ( still do a write up every month for my ds in a beautiful book got from whsmith started on his due date )

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 19:22

Oh! bhm if it's any help at all, get a normal wardrobe and use tension poles/rods. Once DH has shifted some of his crap from our, that's what I'll be doing (and tucking my dresses behind the tension pole as Abi won't require the same width hanger...hopefully!) More versatile, more hanging for baby and ultimatly more life out tof the wardrobe. I know a couple of furnished renters that have used them. You might not get the full weight allowance of a screwed/fixed rod, but baby clothes don't really weigh that much. One installed plastic drawers in the bottom of her floor-celing wardrobe too for extra sotrage, the other already had drawers under hers (so a half-length "male" wardrobe).

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 19:33

Err, my mind went a bit mental there. I was thinking you'd asked for a baby's one specifically... Thinking about it, we had to buy a skinny pole and fixings for a curtain to hang over a recessed door. We used something like this to hang it, though they did require screws. Was wondering if a gluing those with a standard skinny pole would do it!

rednosedreindeerhead · 02/01/2012 20:14

congratulations brownwolf what lovely news!! Hope you're all well and resting. I love coming on here every few days and seeing who's sprogged next!! Would love to see any birth stories too if anyone's up for posting at some point.

cakes I'm with you on the pineapple, far too much acid.... i think you have to eat about 7000 of them for it to do anything labour wise anyway!

karm I'm knitting in the times when I'm not nesting. although the blanket is not even half done... Piglet will have to have it when he's older!

addicted stay on that sofa and relax.

My OH is watching treasure Island but I think it's pants and have given up.... want to do more nesty things but am knackered.

BigHotMama · 02/01/2012 21:16

Thanks for ideas for wardrobe oeisha those look very handy for using a second rail below. Ikea here we come!

Red, I tried to get into treasure island but it's definitely one for the boys! Can't wait to watch birthing programmes on mat leave as dh won't watch them with me.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 02/01/2012 21:38

evening all,

addicted i'm sorry to hear you in such a bad way lovely. Rest well now you're home and give that little girl of yours a cuddle or 3.

cakes I have been sicky on and off late into pregnancy but it's also a symptom of labour so you never know. I threw up several times in labour-once as the poor MW changed shifts. She came in, introduced herself and I threw up on her before I even had a chance to say hello. I remember saying "Sorry-thats a nice welcome isn't it" Blush

bhm good luck at the vbac clinic-i found my appointment a great help. Going through my previous notes was a bit of a revelation.

I wholeheartedly believe that pineapple is the most useless labour inducing device. I ate so much my lips blistered with dd. Didn't work.

Cant believe this holiday is over and dh goes back to work tmrw. He's been such a bloody angel with dd and me and the house. DD is back to school Thur-back to school runs and being knackered in the mornings. I am hoping that some of my kind neighbours might offer to take DD in a few mornings for me.

I had really hoped that baby would get a wriggle on before the end of the hols but were running out of time and I do have over a week to go yet so the chances of it happening are slim.

GiraffeAHolic · 02/01/2012 21:54

Just while I remember, if anyone's after Lanisoh nipple cream. Amazon are selling it for £7.30 and free p+p which is £3 cheaper than boots etc.

Almost bought some in Boots today then decided to check Amazon luckily Smile

Off to bed, tomorrow I will officially be overdue!

BigHotMama · 02/01/2012 22:05

fish are you going for a VBAC too? This will be my 2nd appointment so not really sure what they will do as ready gone through my notes and boy were there lots of them.

giraffe you have been reading my mind nearly got some lansinol cream from mothercare but was around ten quid so glad you told me about that as will get some ordered asap! It's brill stuff!

mummyzoe2012 · 02/01/2012 22:38

ive organised ame's baptisum invites, and photographer today. just got her gown and band to get when she is here.

its only 9 weeks 4 days till ames baptisum so all exciting. and 18 days till her due date.

Oeisha · 02/01/2012 22:39

In my pjs. Abi's objecting to having a rather large pair of knockers resting on her botty and feeties...can't blame her really.

peanuts777 · 02/01/2012 23:10

Hi all,
pink congratulations! Hope you and Dennis are doing well. Cute name.

Ladies, I am suddenly panicking about the c section I am booked in for on 18 th Jan.

After 2 normal (albeit assisted) deliveries the reality has kicked in and I feel totally unprepared. A friend told me yesterday about having terrible, uncontrollable wind afterwards, which has totally freaked me out too..........!?

Any advice for preparation would be SO welcome. Should I wax too? My Ob said they have to take out my bladder, is this normal?!
Multi plenty mucho confuso.......
Hoping babe will come early and I will get a shot of going the non sunroof route...Confused
