Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bubbly1973 · 12/01/2006 07:55

ive put on a stone and a half, i used to weigh 7 and half stone and now weigh 9stone

last pregnancy i put on 3 and half stone but then i did get massive and had lot of water retention

diddle · 12/01/2006 08:07

slink - Yes my uterus comes to by belly button now, I am 19 wks TODAY!!! woohoo

lilacbump - have only bought a baby monitor so far, were waiting until at least 24 wks before we buy anything at all. DH will be very jealous that you've got your travel system already, he wants to get ours now, not that we have anywhere to put it.
So pleased you are finally out of pain.

bubbly - don't feel bad, theres no point buying new stuff if you have it already, you're gonna need that exra money.

Flum - I am 19 wks, and have gained 4 pounds. Think my scales must be broken, because i feel like i've gained more than that. migth get some digital ones just to be sure.

Laura032004 · 12/01/2006 08:22

BabyBelly - could you order the bands from E-bay? They sell them on the Australian E-bay IIRC.

slinkstah - 17 weeks today Don't worry - I'm even later than you! 16+1 now. I'm not banking on this baby being born in June at all as DS was 18 days late I'm just getting it into my head that one way or another this baby will be born by mid-July! I haven't even let my MIL book her leave before the 14th July! Did I see you on the hb after c/s thread as well, or am I getting confused?

Weight - ??? I haven't weighed myself in a long time. I know what I was just before I fell pg though as I randomly weighed myself on my MIL's scales, so I will have to take a trip down to Boots and get weighed. I don't own a pair of scales, as they were compulsive when I was trying to lose weight. It might be quite a bit though, as I ate 7 selection boxes after Christmas! I can still wear normal clothes, but just in a bigger size than normal (normally size 12, but need baggy 14 or a 16 to fit round the bump comfortably)

I was going to say that I hadn't bought anything yet for the baby, but I did buy a '1st Christmas' outfit in the Next sale. I won't really need much though as I've already got DS. We won't even get a double buggy initially as we carried ds in a sling for a long time, so plan to do this again. Up until the 20w scan I'd only bought some scratch mitts for ds - which never got used!

18 weeks + 4 days.
10 stone before pregnancy, gained 6lbs so far.

Apart from a cute little outfit we got in the Next sale, we haven't bought anything yet, but we do have a lot of things from DS, which is good as we have no money. I would love to get a big pram though as we got a travel system with DS which was handy but he could only fit in the pram bit until about 6 mths. Here kids normally sleep outside in their pram (at nap times - not during the night ) until 2-2 1/2 years.

Diddle, most shops will let you order a travel system and then pick it up or have it delivered close to the birth.

No news about my mum, she had her big scan on Tuesday and will get her results tomorrow. Although the whole thing has taken about 3 months, this one week waiting for a clear answer just feels like a lifetime iykwim.

LilacBump · 12/01/2006 10:08

i'm 19 weeks + 2 days
gained 6 lbs so far
seems like a tiny amount considering the size of my bump!

i must admit, i've been buying little bits and bobs for this baby since week 8. i'm surprised i'm the only one who's been that naughty!

dana, thinking of you and your mum. good luck for the results tomorrow.

slinkstah · 12/01/2006 10:39

on the weight thing ive only gained bettween 2 and 4 pounds wasn't completely sure of my weight before conception.
my bump is still barely there am still in normal jeans with belt!!!

laura- wow 18 days!!! yes i was on the homebirth after cs thread, if all goes well i am really wanting a homebirth- i can see myself just doing normal things like watching eastenders, cooking the tea etc until baby pops out. are you going to have homebirth?

had a private scan last night and found out we are having a boy. diddle was right so i wouldn't bother with chinese gender charts i would just ask diddle

abbey1515 · 12/01/2006 12:25

I have put on about 3 lbs but lost a lot in first 3 months cos of HG...
Bump is huge! Have maternity trousers on today for firt time!
Diddle- 19 weeks today, can you believe it?
Has anyone sorted out ante natal classes yet? Have tried through NCT but there don't seem to be many available in my area...

abbey1515 · 12/01/2006 12:26

Dana · 12/01/2006 14:09

bubbly1973 · 12/01/2006 19:13

my ds got chicken pox

i had my blood taken yesterday to check for immunity against it, i have had them once but still paranoid that i may get them again arggh

BABY2 · 12/01/2006 20:00

bubly 1973 my ds had chicken pox the week b4 christmas. i to had boolds done. it was quite scary as my mum said she didnt think i had had them. turned out i must of had them as i was immune. i hope everything goes ok, my ds got them in his mouth/throat and could not eat for about 3-4 days and after that it he would only eat chips or chocolate. He would just cry all day and night

PLEASE HELP Can anyone tell me were i can buy som mat jeans that dont go under your bump in Leeds?

bubbly1973 · 13/01/2006 08:16

baby2, that must have been awful in the mouth and throat and over christmas as well,...how long did it take for the results to come back?

sorry cant help you about the jeans, have you tried mothercare?

Laura032004 · 13/01/2006 09:18

BABY2 - my favourite over bump jeans are from Blooming Marvellous. I got them over the internet. They were fab as they fitted from the start to the end of the pg (for last pg - currently wearing them as I type!).

slinkstah - I'm hoping for a hb, but I'm desperately trying not to think about it too much. I had one planned for ds, but due to high bp and then pre-eclampsia, I had to deliver in hospital. I haven't even mentioned it to the MW yet, but I'm seeing a consultant at the end of the month, so it might have to come up then. Will you decide on a name now you know that you are having a boy? Quite jealous of you knowing, but we're not going to find out as DH really doesn't want to.

abbey1515 - won't be doing AN classes as this is no.2 for me. I did the NHS ones last time, and we also did the NCT two day intensive classes. I don't think you learn anything from them that you can't learn from a book TBH. Also, we didn't really make friends in the NCT class, as people had come from miles around. That might differ though if you live in a big town, but we were in the depths of Devon at the time!

bubbly1973 - best wishes for the chicken pox results.

slink - just had a little feeling. So surprised i was right.

Had a lovely dream last night that the baby came, it was a boy and i woke up feeling soo happy that it was all over, then reality hit an di realised i needed the loo and it was still dark bugger.

Dana - thanks for the travel system advice, will make sure i don't tell Dh or he'll be ordering it tonight

Cannot believe i am 19 wks, its flown by, bet the next bit drags now. although i'm keeping busy so time is flying right now.

Baby2 - i have some lovely comfy maternity jeans over the bump ones, from Mamas and Papas, they're so comfy i am living in them, washing then overnight and putting them on againt he next day. they have the adjustable elastic through them so they'll last till the end hopefully.

Abbey - haven't even though about antenatal classes yet, seeing the midwife in 2 weeks thouhg, will make sure i ask her then.

Been having some pains in my back esp when i'm sitting or lyign down, really sharp, i dont like them. I can cope wiht bump making me uncomfortable but don't need more aches and pains.

Dana · 13/01/2006 11:20

Bubbly, if you have had chicken pox once, I don't think there is any chance of getting them again. When do you get the results from the blood test?
Hope your DS isn't suffering too much.

Baby2, I would also suggest Mothercare. They actually had some quite nice over the bump ones when I had a look. Unfortunately none in my size. Also a lot of online maternity shops do them - try google.
Venlig hilsen/Kind regards

Dana · 13/01/2006 12:03

Sorry about that last bit. I had typed the message in a word doc and copied over.

abbey1515 · 13/01/2006 12:16

Baby2-I bought some jeans from Blooming Marvellous and they are brilliant- they also do them in shorter sizes which is great for me. I ordered them online, but there is a shop in Leeds and one in Manchester.
Dana- Yes, mum ok, she had a scare last Christmas again but was benign this time. Is a really worrying time I know. Has she had results yet?

Dana · 13/01/2006 12:45

Abbey, glad to hear your mum's ok.
She should get the results today (Friday 13th -hmmmm.), but I won't know until I get home later. Today is a loooooong day at work.

slinkstah · 13/01/2006 13:10

laura- i think we will name the baby now we know the sex, although i don't really like alot of boys names they are much harder than girls. i hope you get a homebirth this time

diddle - they do say if you dream of a babys gender then that is what you will have
back pain is probably due to babys position- i have had a little too.

baby2-i found some nice over bump maternity jeans last pg in dorothy perkins, they were nicely bootcut too

BABY2 · 13/01/2006 13:16

bubly1973
i had the blood taken the wednesday b4 christmas, i was told i would have to waite till after christmas for results. i kept ringing the doctors for results but they didnt get them till 31st!!! was told it should of only taken 5 days though!!

thanks to for all the sugestions for jeans. Will leave ds with dh tomorrow and go shopping

bubbly1973 · 13/01/2006 17:19

dana, hope the news is good when you get home

well hospital rang me today after i chased them up!..the bloods they took on wednesday didnt get tested

i explained that ds now has chicken pox and i am not 100% sure if i had them once, then they got back to me saying that when i had bloods taken to check for rubella and all the other things they check for one of the test is for chicken pox and that showed i was immune

are they fobbing me off? im sure i never had bloods taken to check for chickenpox..do any of you girls have your results in your folder to see what they checked for when taking bloods as my results arent in my folder, yet another thing they got to chase up!

slinkstah · 13/01/2006 18:09

bubbly- i don't think i was checked for chicken pox, my blood results in my notes say alot of stuff but nowhere does it mention anything like chicken pox- i think they are fobbing you off. i think you should pester them.

laura and others interested in homebirths- just had a phone call from community midwifes and they said that i shouldn't be a problem to have a homebirth as i have had a vaginal birth after i had my cs. she will book me in for one in a few months if all goes well

Enthusia · 13/01/2006 18:30

Diddle- it is wonderful reading all you news and hearing you being so enthusiastic. Sending you lots of love, Enthusia and Sam

BABY2 · 13/01/2006 19:49

my doctor and midwife told me i needed the test for chicken pox at christmas. keep on at them and tell your midwife or go to www.midwivesonline.com you can ask them any questions there.
