June 2012- we'd like a bit less throwing (up) and a lot more glowing! entering the 2nd trimester.

New thread with updated stats, before the old one grinds to a halt at 1000 and we loose people! Plus its running so slow it barely loads for me :)

Sending positive vibes to nemo really hope you're ok

CaptainNemo · 02/12/2011 07:57

Thanks Florin. Spoken to the hospital and have an appointment at 1130. Shock seems to have worn off though unfortunately, and now I can't stop crying... DD has just left for the childminders, luckily without noticing that there's something wrong with mummy's eyes...

CaptainNemo · 02/12/2011 07:58

X posts miniangel and ceej, thanks.

nemo glad you got an appointment this morning although it must still feel like hours to wait, will be thinking of you. I am sure it will be fine.

Kveta · 02/12/2011 09:18

nemo a friend of mine had the same procedure as you on her cervix and had a horrendous pregnancy with her DS - bleeds every other week, loss of fluid, threatening labour from about 28 weeks. He was eventually born at 40 weeks, 8lb something, full of health. so fingers crossed it's the same for you.

told my other boss via email yesterday and he replied saying 'congratulations' so think everything is ok on that front. will be telling the rest of my friends and extended family after the nuchal scan next thursday, as I can't relax until that's over. I have to get to the train by 6.30am though to make it to the scan on time, yikes!! It's the first time ever DH and I have wished we had 2 cars!!

AwayinaKayzr · 02/12/2011 10:45

Nemo I'm glad you've got an appointment. Sending you lots of love and positive thoughts.

CaptainNemo · 02/12/2011 12:54

Thank you for all the messages ladies, just on the way home from the hospital now. They did another scan and all looks fine. Couldn't see what had caused the bleeding or where it had come from. Am still getting brownish stuff which I guess is left over from whatever happened this morning, I showed the Sister who did the scan (no dignity left these days!) and she said to try not to worry as long as it stays like that. I probably should feel more reassured than I do, tbh I'm just wondering what will go wrong next... Am having some acupuncture tomorrow so hopefully she'll be able to stick some positive needles in me or something....

Thanks again for all the support ladies, I'm sorry for hijacking the thread.

AwayinaKayzr · 02/12/2011 13:06

Nemo I'm so pleased the scan was ok. I hope the bleeding stops soon.

ellybett · 02/12/2011 13:11

Thinking of you nemo. Glad it was good news, I know its so easy to worry about 'what next' when its all unknown. Stay strong and positive. X

Florin · 02/12/2011 13:31

nemo glad the scan looked good, have lots of rest over the weekend.
We tried for ages to get pregnant and always saw a positive pregnancy test as the finish line but now I realise it was just the first hurdle. On the journey there seems to be a lot of little hurdles to get over!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 02/12/2011 14:07

Glad thinks look okay Nemo.

Well, my new bed's just turned up - very excited! It's in two boxes in the hall (very narrow hall so that doesn't leave much space for when the mattress arrives!).

Hope the mattress does turn up today as planned then we can build the bed this weekend. Oh, I can't wait for a mattress without sproingy springs and dips in it!

millyv · 02/12/2011 14:23

Florin, I totally agree with you about thinking once we were pregnant all would be ok, even though I've seen the baby I still worry every day!

Nemo, so pleased it's good news, I know it's easier said than done but try and have a relax!

Shattered today so going to have an afternoon nap, quite surprised as the tiredness has been lifting this last week, maybe I need to run at 75% now?!

Hope you are all having a good day! Xx

Dalrymps · 02/12/2011 14:30

So glad all looks ok nemo. Hope there's no more bleeding now xx

ecstatica · 02/12/2011 16:11

Nemo I'm so glad everything turned out well, what a relief! Rest this weekend and get that Mcdonalds down your throat :) Kveta's story sounds reassuring. Feet up, relax and take it easy xx

Loving the [boak] spied on JJ's and Nemo's posts. Sums it up oh so well!
Hello to everyone else.
Telling family can have such mixed reactions. My FIL was the classic Hmm -- haven't brought it up with them but visiting time for FILs may be very restricted this time round...hold grudges? me? never! ;)

My DS1's birthday is at the weekend so having party at grandparent's house. I cannot muster the strength to make the 2 hour journey looking into a plastic bag or like and trying to appear upbeat. Can't let DS down so onwards and upwards boak boak boak...

I swear I felt movement this morning on my left side (not of the gassy type!) I'm 12+5 I think. Never felt it so early with the others.

I hope you all have great weekends. I hope I can manage some birthday cake and enjoy my first born's birthday x

ecstatica · 02/12/2011 16:12

OMG just read over my post. Barrel of freaking laughs or what? Ho ho ho.
Apologies.

ceeej · 02/12/2011 17:56

glad everything is OK nemo, hope you don't have any more bleeding.

yay for the new bed SSC, hope the mattress turns up soon and you get a comfy sleep

ecstatica I really hope you get to enjoy DS's birthday, fingers crossed for a good day tomorrow.

I just got back from the scan, am soooo buzzing, couldn't believe how much like a baby it looked! bang on 12 weeks today and it was having a right little jive while being scanned, DH was delighted too, I think it made it a bit more real for him to actually see it.

Just told my brothers (younger than me) and both asked if it was planned!! I can understand why though because I didn't used to be a children person at all and looked generally horrified if anyone handed me a baby. They did both sound pretty delighted though which is great. We're going to Christmas dinner with a bunch of DH's uni friends tomorrow so will be nice to be able to tell them too.

Right now I might join millyv in napping, I think all the scan excitement has worn me out.

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 02/12/2011 20:27

I'm so glad things are well nemo ill echo what the others have said, rest lots and try and relax xxx

I snuck a 2hr nap at lunch time today, it was so hard waking up!!!

Did a mad dash to toysrus this evening as the doll dd has been asking for for christmas finally appeared in stock, 40mins away... Had a burger king, it was amazing ill never eat a macdonalds again. [sgrin]
Stopped at tescos on the way home for my beloved pineapple --and chocolate--

Congrats on the scan ceeej, that's great news! Hope you have a lovely lunch tomorrow. Thanks again for the support to everyone else. Feel like I've been pulled through a mangle today...

Well done on the Toys r Us trip Jjingle, I find it hard to face going there at the best of times, never mind during the first trimester of pregnancy! Glad you enjoyed the Burger King, I've just finished the MacDonalds that was denied to me yesterday. It was goood! Though feel v sick now. Think it'll be a long time til we have fish and chips
again (just for you ecstatica) Wink Good luck with the birthday party tomorrow by the way, tend to find I can generally face cake, so hope it works that way for you too!

V tired so hoping to catch up on some sleep tonight... Zzzzzz.....

KatyJ26 · 03/12/2011 07:04

Morning all- glad scans are all going well, will post properly later.Smile
