Hey! I don't post much on this thread but I do read it all. I had my 12 week scan today and all was fabulous. Due date and moved forward to 7th June. I'll update the list when I'm on the computer next. Big sigh of relief and elation . Little peach sized baby is 13 weeks today

I swear I just felt the baby move. I'm pretty sure it must be almost impossible at just 11w+2 but it felt just like it did with both the boys.

Sorry for not posting these last few days. I have been trying to get ready to go back to work after my 3 weeks holiday so had to rush to get some maternity clothes. Will stick with ordering online now as shops didn't really have anything.

Millv , Mrskitchen and Mamma Congrats on your scans. Love reading the scan stories.

My scan was a bit of a disappointment. Firstly the traffic was horrendous and we were 40 mins late, they still took us in but then because of my fat tummy tissue (am size 14 so didn't think my fat would drive the sonographer to be rude) and a very full bladder the picture was not clear. Heard the heartbeat and could see Peanut move but no nuchal measurement could be taken. I was 11 weeks + 4 days so they will try later.

Florin and Kayzr I now have my scan with you guys on 7th Dec. It is at 15.30 and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they can see the baby clearly.

miniangel that's shit! I was a size 18 with DS3 and never had any problems with my scans due to my weight. I'm annoyed for you.

miniangel sorry today didn't go too well, but at least you saw baby. There will be a little gang of us going on Wednesday now. Looking forward to hopefully all sharing good news on 7th!
I phoned midwife as my scan letter did not say anything about havig to drink water she confirmed that I really didn't need to drink anything. Not sure why mine is different. To be fair at my private 10 week scan I didn't have to either and I could see baby then.
mama congratulations on your scan!
kayzr some people say you can feel it early depending on baby's position so I think it is possible, particularly as you know what you are looking out for.
I take it all back about feeling better I feel bloody awful tonight really sick and feel miserable with it. Roll on the first trimester being over and fingers crossed we all feel better. I really want to be in the blooming phase [stomps feet]

Don't worry about weight-gain, Nemo, I've been weighing myself loads, just out of curiosity and it's been going up by about 4/5 pounds, then down again so i just thought it was because i was losing muscle from not exercising and weight from not drinking booze....until i was weighed at booking on Tuesday. It seems my scales are out by 8 pounds! Oh well, if there's ever a time to gain, it's now. Eating is the only thing that prevents nausea!
My husband has been absolutely amazing to me, he's cooking me all sorts of food, getting me drinks, going to the shops, CLEANING THE HOUSE!!! I'm awfully lucky. Shame it's taken me to get pregnant for him to turn into the dream man!!

Evening all
Just a quick post to say that we went to our scan today - all was good,a very active baby!!! Put my date back by 3 days,so EDD now 15/6 So called all the parents,who are overseas,to let them know about the pregnancy.Was pleasantly surprised by my mom who was very excited, as she has been negative about everything lately... MIL said it has to be a girl,as if I have any control over that... and my step mother was too busy cooking to speak to me but my dad was very happy!

Thank you all so much for all the lovely messages of support today, I really appreciate it. Apologies in advance for the rubbish post, the nausea is back with a vengeance this evening. I blame DH - I really wanted McDonalds for dinner (most unlike me normally) but he said no, although agreed to fish and chips, which it turns out my body REALLY did not appreciate. Bleargh! Though weirdly still think Maccy D's would have gone down ok....

So the scan was good. They've put my dates forward again, they said the baby was measuring 12+1 today, though I'm pretty sure that's impossible as surely that would mean conception occured on the wednesday, and unless it was an immaculate conception....! Little one was waving its arms at us and looked like it was sratching his head, did a few body pops too, was just showing off I reckon But all in all looked very different from the nuchal with DS (who we went on to lose) and much more similar to DD whose pregnancy was absolutely textbook. So while I won't be properly reassured until we have the blood results, (and I'm not feeling up to joining the list until after that point either) it was definitely a massive step in the right direction.

Ffnorm that's great about your family! Altough is definitely the appropriate emoticon regarding your step mum! some people.... Will be telling my parents once we get the blood results, whichever way it goes. Have been putting it off due to a slightly sticky relationship with my mother - a) she doesn't handle stress well, v bad psoriosis (sp?) b) I'm not at all sure she'll be pleased, she frequently tells me that anyone who has a smaller age gap than she did with me and my sister must be MAD, and c) it's due the day they're booked to go on a 17 night cruise of the mediterranean which has been booked for about 150 years (ish) and I have a horrible feeling she'll think I've done it on purpose! Oh dear...

Miniangel am very about your sonographer! I bet they were just in a hurry and looking for an excuse to fob you off rather than trying to get the baby to move/waiting for it to get into the right position. A size 14 is NOT fat!! Ridiculous!! Hopefully you'll have someone more professional and more patient on 7th - at least you get to have an extra peek at the baby!

Mrskitchen what a lovely DH! You can send him round here to do some cleaning too if you like . Re the weight gain, turns out I've put on about 5lbs, frankly I was expecting double that so good excuse to eat more cake then!

Kayzr hope you feel better soon, you really have been having a rough time of it . I had a horrible cough at about 6 weeks and in desperation I took some of DD's calpol as the only active ingredient is paracetamol so I think (hope) it's ok. I just needed something to coat my throat, it was so sore and you can't get that from a paracetamol. Just a thought in case it appeals.

Changing the subject totally, has anyone had any procedures on their cervix before? I had to have a Lletz procedure (like lasering) after a dodgy smear just over a year ago. I'm paranoid I'll need a stitch to keeep it from opening too early, so my lovely consultant has offered me another scan at 16 weeks to check the length of my cervix.... or is it just me???

Glad to hear the scan went well nemo, I've no experience of any cervical procedures, but I'm sure someone on mumsnet could help you, I'm yet to find a subject someone can't give informed answers on.

Also, I had the exact same reaction to chip shop chips, when I'd wanted macdonalds! I now can't even think about them let alone smell them

I've just got "life as we know it" through from love film and sobbed through it. Great film but not good for hormonal pregnant mums!
