New thread with updated stats, before the old one grinds to a halt at 1000 and we loose people! Plus its running so slow it barely loads for me :)

Warlin · 20/01/2012 14:11

Hi all

congrats mama we knew it would all be ok :) relief for you though...

I have out on about 9lbs and am 19 weeks. At least now I feel like most of it is on my stomach and not spreading everywhere like it was at the start:)

kayzr it sounds to me like you want a home birth and I think you should go for (maybe get a pool)....if you can reliably get your DSs minded then that would be less stress if it's what you want. If DH home then great but will nice for your mum too....I'll want my mum when I'm in pain!!! Need to teach DH to be more sympathetic...he tends to jump to solution mode with things and willl prob just be saying, so take more pain relief!!!

I am really quite worried that I can't feel any movement. I was having flutterings and had a scan a week ago and all was fine. But I haven't felt anything for couple days now......so a bit worried Confused. Hope everything's ok but have another week to wait for scan

MammaInTheMaking · 20/01/2012 14:27

Hi Warlin. I'm now taking the movements I feel as a complete bonus. The little thing was wiggling and kicking so much during the scan and i only felt a really tiny poke once during the whole thing. Made me realise that it's moving about loads and is happy in there and i'm not going to feel a fraction of the kicks it's doing. A few more weeks and we'll be feeling them all the time. I was getting nervous before the scan too because i hadn't felt much. Turns out this one likes to boogie (just like DP)! :o

ILikeMarshmallows · 20/01/2012 15:12

Hello all! I am new to the group, due on 8th June! Scan on Tuesday, so excited! x

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 15:33

The second scan I had at 17 weeks showed a very wriggly baby and I was lying there unable to feel a thing. I still feel hardly anything now, just the occasional wiggle.

Warlin · 20/01/2012 15:35

Thanks mama. Mum keeps telling me that she didn't feel kicks for a while yet but i think I'm just anxious that any movements seem to have stopped. Fingers crossed he's still active in there!

Welcome to the June bus Marshmallows. add yourself to the list on the previous page (the one at the top is an old one)! Good luck with the scan!

Have a good weekend everyone!

rhibutterfly · 20/01/2012 16:21

SORRY FIREFLIES WORKING ON GETTIN IT REMOVED XX

itchyfootedlady · 20/01/2012 16:30

Hmmm. Birthplan. No idea.... but have read up on perineal massage after hearing of 2 horrific tear stories :( Dh said he would do it but looked alarmed!

Congratulations on the scan mama Can't wait to see mine in the 7th :) Yesterday baby was boogie crazy but today nothing, other than kidney pain. Also woke up with a bad cold so feeling pathetic.

Weight gain is worrying me. I'm 17 1/2 weeks and only 2lb gain... although I'm eating loads! Hope it doesn't all pile on at once with stretch marks Hmm people keep saying its less to lose later but doesn't seem right as bump is quite big?

rhibutterfly · 20/01/2012 16:35

I found out yesterday that my local birthing centre is closing in April and nearest hospital is 20 miles away so am giving some serious thought to a home waterbirth
I've only gained about 2lb so far and i'm 18 weeks but i think ive lost a lot in early pregnancy due to nausea, sickness and only wanting to eat fruit and tomato soup

Kayzr · 20/01/2012 16:44

We need to start thinking of a new thread name soon. We are almost at 1000 posts.

Rhibutterfly The local hospital closed its labour ward a couple of years ago. My friend had her 3rd in a layby on the way to the next closest hospital!

Florin · 20/01/2012 17:00

Had a lovely day off today and dh working from home so had my haircut and a flu jab this morning while he worked then we went out for a lovely pub lunch with a roaring log fire. Then a little bit of baby shopping on the way home. Went to baby gap got a really cute all in one reduced from £23 to £4.50. It's for winter so got the 3-6 month size. I figure lots of people are going to buy us stuff in 0-3 and then we will have to start buying everything ourselves so might as well try and pick some bits up in the sales. We picked this in the grey version with the polar bear m.gap.com/product.html?dn=gp868785&sdReferer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gap.com%2Fproducts%2Fbaby-boy-one-pieces-sale.jsp&kwid=1&pid=868785&referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gap.com%2Fproducts%2Fintarsia-animal-one-piece-P868785.jsp&sem=false&locale=en_US
As far as movements I don't think we have to worry at all at this stage as its only when baby is in certain positions you feel it. On Wednesday afternoon I thought mine was having a party in there he was moving so much then he went really quiet and I couldn't feel him during the scan even though we could see him kicking about all over the place.

Miniangel · 20/01/2012 18:17

Loved all the name talk. All the names picked by Dalry, Warlin ,Florin & Kveta* are ace. Loved Jude, Thomas William, Jasper and Emillie. One of the things about not finding out the gender is that we can't name the bump. Your babies will get used to their names when you talk to them.

Florin The all in one is sooo cute. Good idea to stock up in sales.

Kayzr I agree with Warlin, you should go for a home birth if that is what you feel most comfortable with providing you have someone to look after DCs.

I agree we need a new thread name- something to do with kicking maybe. June 2012-Bigger bumps and lots of kicking as we enter the 3rd thread. My brain is not working completely so could do with improvising.

Mamma Congrats on your scan.

My sudden vomiting is due to uti, the doctor confimed today. Thank god the sickness has not returned but uti makes me feel run down and the antibiotics are hard on the stomach. One thing after another and the less medicines I want to take, the more I get. This baby doesn't want me to work so have been signed off sick for further 2 weeks.

AmethystMoon · 20/01/2012 19:26

Welcome Marshmallows :)

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 20/01/2012 19:41

Hi again, sorry I've been quiet since my previous hello. Its manic keeping up with all you lot and you already know each other well.

I had my anomaly scan and echocardiogram today and everything is okay as far as we know. I have to go back in 2 weeks as the sonographer couldn't clearly see two parts of the heart she needed to-our little boy was breech, facing backwards and kept wriggling away from the doppler Grin.
It was also confirmed that I have an anterior placenta as I expected, he's been very quiet and the movements I have been feeling are very slight.

Will copy and paste the list and add myself on the bottom. Grin

It's busy busy busy on here!
Pleased to hear everyone is ok, can't believe some of you have names already, DH and I can't agree on a short list let alone a favourite yet!
I had some garlic bread earlier and it was a big mistake, it is resorting so badly on me- think I'll be skipping it for the next 5 months!
Off to bed now, hope everyone gets a good nights sleep!
Xx

Dalrymps · 20/01/2012 22:39

itchy please don't be worried by the tear stories. I can honestly say with my hand on my heart that I did not feel a thing when I tore (both times!) It's kinda stretched down there and a bit numb. I healed well and tbh that was the least of my worries. I was horrified by the idea of tearing before hand but it was nothing, reallySmile

ceeej · 20/01/2012 23:59

wow, well impressed at the names, and I love them all, DH won't even contemplate a shortlist until we know the sex.

Sorry to hear about your UTI mini but at least you know why the vomiting came back. Make sure you take it easy and hopefully you'll recover quickly.

Weight gain wise I've put on 3kg so far, nothing til 12 weeks then fairly gradual until last week when I gained a whole kilo! Apparently you do have growth spurts though and it did coincide with my bump sticking itself out properly. My mum is a nutritionist and she said I should expect to gain around 10kg in total (BMI 27 before conceiving).

thedogwalker · 21/01/2012 10:21

Good morning all
My DS is 17mo today and he is full of cold and very clingy, poor thing, not planning to do much today except lots of cuddles.
Hope eveyone is well, take care xx

AmethystMoon · 21/01/2012 13:01

Hello everyone :)

Just registered my interest for NCT antenatal classes...has anyone any experience of these?

Kveta · 21/01/2012 18:07

hi all,
shit weekend here, as DS has a cold which means no sleep - we are all exhausted!! TDW hope you are getting some rest, I can't imagine dealing with non-sleeping toddler on my own right now...

Amethyst - we did NCT classes, and they were great. Not so much for education, but for socialising!! the breastfeeding part of ours was rubbish, but the rest was very useful, especially for DH.

itchy I'm not doing any extra scans at the Rosie, can't find the time really! I'm there enough as it is, the receptionists are really bad at booking my scans for the right date, so I'm up and down like a yo-yo. Got to go back this coming week for anomaly scan pt II, as they'd booked the 1st one too early, grr! I wonder if we've been there at the same time though!

I have thought of a new thread name, and will start a new one if the name is ok with everyone - 'little kicks and a bit less sick - half way to June 2012' I'll put the latest stats list in the OP, then we can get nattering again :o

KatyJ26 · 21/01/2012 19:18

Hi all,
I have no idea how much weight I?ve put on and don?t intend to find out! I still look the same-ish, but with a bump
Warlin ? I?m sure all is ok with the movement, try the whole relax and have a bath etc, I usually feel the most movement when I am chilled out (which is rarely!)
Welcome ?I like Marshmallows? ? I also have a scan on Tuesday ? look forward to hearing about yours
Itchyfoot ? tried perineal massage with my 1st ? I cried actual tears ? it was awful..it didn?t hurt, just felt so undignified I decided I would rather tear and keep my dignity intact in the run up to labour!!! I?m hoping someone else comes on here and gives you a more positive story!!!!
Rhibutterfly ? I ate shed loads of fruit in first trimester too!
Florin ? jealous of your time to yourself and impressed you think that far in advance!
Miniangel ? sorry to hear about the uti, hope you feel better soon.
Blue&red ? glad your scan went well
TDW hope your DS gets better soon
Amethyst ? I did NCT 1st time round and was suitable impressed by it, I felt a lot more informed and met some lovely people, but I know on here it gets mixed reciews.
I have had a massive clearout and started getting baby things down from the loft ? sooooo excited, makes it feel a bit more real now!
Hope you?re all having nice weekends :)

TeaandHobnobs · 21/01/2012 23:53

Visited a friend today and told her my news... And she told me that she is 6wks! So exciting! Grin

10000fireflies · 22/01/2012 09:36

Morning everyone

Hope you're all ok, and those feeling a bit under the weather or with poorly LOs are on the road to recovery.

Love how educational this thread is!! Not much to report from me - have been doing general clearout and tidy up to make room for a little one too. Horrendous job - we have years worth of $%"* to sort and I'm doing it single handed, but the end goal makes it really worthwhile. Bit worried as have done my back in and not sure exactly what the cause is. Maybe sleeping on my back?

Rhibutterfly thank you for getting the old list deleted. Have to admit to being v Envy of your limited weight gain, and the rest of you who've kept your weight down, though the sickness can't have been nice. I have no idea how much I've gained. I don't weigh myself. One less thing to worry about!! Grin

Kveta great idea getting the new thread set up and the title looks good too, so please go ahead. Not sure about putting stats in OP - maybe put them in the next one down. Think that might be why the wrong version gets used at later dates. What about what Pink had suggested previously- take off those who haven't posted on this thread, so they can re-add themselves if they're still with us for the journey?

I might go to the gym later on Shock, that is, if I can get into a swimmie, and see if a go in the pool eases my back.

Enjoy your Sundays, and good luck for those of you having scans next week! FF xx

Kayzr · 22/01/2012 09:44

Morning,

I hope everyone is feeling well today.

Kveta I love idea of the new thread name.

I am feeling pretty knackered. It's very annoying as I am finally sleeping all night every night. Last night I slept from half 10 til 7.

So that's why I have been quiet for a few days. Just trying to rest a bit.

Kveta · 22/01/2012 10:14

ok, have trimmed stats to names I recognise! Sorry if I've chopped anyone off, I have a memory like a sieve with a hole in it at the moment... utterly useless! will start new thread with stats as second post later today, when DS is napping! he was coughing so much he threw up last night, so DH (who deserves a fricking medal IMHO) sat up with him all night and let me sleep - so I got 12.30-3, then 4-8, and feel miles better. Am about to take DS out for a walk and get DH some beer I think, and let him have a breather. The man is being a saint at the moment!!
