fireflies enjoy the gym, I managed to squeeze into my swimming costume last week but think I'd better order a maternity one soon, there was a minor risk of wardrobe malfunction

teaandhobnobs awesome that your friend is expecting too, it's lovely to be able to share all the pregnancy chat with someone in the same position

One of my friends has just offered to throw me a baby shower, slightly awkward as I have been fairly vocal in the past about them being an over-commercialized American idea. I'd love to have a get together with my friends for tea and cakes but without the present showering part. Does anyone have any ideas on what that could be called?

Antenatal afternoon tea?

I threw something similar for a friend of mine - was really just an excuse for all her friends to meet up before the baby arrived and eat cake some people gave her the odd present, but it wasn't a "shower" in the usual sense...

Thank you Kveta and KatyJ26 for your comments on NCT classes, it's nice to have someone elses opinions :) and, to be honest Kveta I am partly doing it for the socal side as I dont'yknow anyone else locally with children. My closest friends either don't live that close, have older children or are in the armed forces and so move around a lot!

Good luck for those of you with scans next week...mine is AGES away...8th Feb ...although aligned to my due date, it seems so far away...but still a bit green over everyone that knows what flavour they're having or have had the worry of the anomaly scan out of the way

been desperate for a boy but just cannot find a name i like and believe me i've seen a lot so am actually thinking a girl would be easier for naming purposes lol my DD has said as this is a 'family baby' she gets a say as well as my nephew and so far all my choices have been vetoed.
I'm not getting too smug about only havin gained 2lb so far as my appeteite is back with a vengeance this week and this pregnancy i started off 4 stones heavier than when i fell for my DD as i had shed 4st just before i caught for her .
