Morning all

Love the new thread jj..can#'t believe we are through the other one already!

Just a quick check in as really busy at work...will catch up on all the posts later. Hope everyone is feeling well and sick free.

Two days for me to booking apt, scan and 12 week mark....keeping everything crossed!

Tiredness is back again....I thought it had gone but no such luck!

Thought I'd better check in too!

The nausea has more or less gone, so I generally feel much better now, although my appetite is still all over the place!

I've got my 12 week scan on Friday, so excited and apprehensive all at the same time. I am in France though, so I've already had a scan and seen the baby which was amazing. We haven't told DS properly yet, just told him that mummy's got a poorly tummy if he gets too boisterous!

lady you poor thing! Atleast you had a valid reason for an empty bladder, I always just forgot and went for a wee, they hated me! Glad the scan went ok otherwise.

Well I thought the nausea had calmed but I had soup going in the slow cooker last night and dp put his frigging coffee machine on and the combined smells made me feel awful! And now I can't eat the soup. I'm irrationally cross with him.

Welcome Jubble

Well I feel awful today. Woke up at 3.40am last night to be sick, then somehow managed to still feel sick through to this morning. My appetite has completely gone. I had to get dp to finish cooking earlier because I just couldn't face even looking at food, but managed to eat half a chicken breast and half a jacket potato. Two weeks ago I just couldn't eat enough, dragging myself out now to tesco to stock up on juice as I seem to be able to manage that.

pinkpepper you poor thing being sick. Can completly sympathies with you about the lack of appetite. I've lost mine completly particularly in the evenings. Dh keeps fussing as he is worried I am not eating enough.

So sorry you're feeling so awful pink. It's so annoying when you just don't fancy eating anything.

Some nights I say to dh that i'm really hungry but just can't think of anything I fancy eating. It's not like there's one thing I'm guaranteed to enjoy, changes day to day. Im deffo eating a lot less than I did pre pregnancy l. I was surviving by eating regularly but now seem to have gone the other way and hardly fancy anything at allHmm

Hope your appetite returns and you feel better soon.

Hello ladies

Kveta -- Snap on pelvic floors! LOL, I really was ROFL when I read your post. That is soooo me. Being sick involves having to sit down Hmm and God help me if a violent sneeze catches me unawares LOL.
Twiglet -- Yay for good news at scan!!! :)
Dalrymps Hope you've managed some sleep and feel better for it. {{hug}} and LOL at texing DH Zzz's instead of XXs so funny.
Seriously SC -- When I was PG with DS1 and had a 3D scan booked he told me to go and drink something, walk briskly etc.. I had a small bottle of coke Blush and bounced down Harley Street for a while :) baby certainly moved afterwards!
LadyGrace -- Yay for more good scan news! I hope the same doesn't happen to me, drinking water makes me sick full stop.
Jubble -- Hello!
PinkPepper It's awful. I have had this sickness with each pregnancy right until the end. Good that you managed to eat a bit though. I have been sipping Sprite for a good few weeks and today bought some pina colada juice from Marks and Sparks hasn't come back up yet. Have great experience now on what things taste like regurgitated. Sorry, but it's true! If you find any relief tell me the secret, purleasse!
Florin Your OH is very sweet to be worried like that, bless him.

If I can just mention something other than my usual sorry state of sickness while there was talk of iphones etc..: A couple of years ago MIL kept sending me texts with LOL at the end. I thought it was cute, she was catching on with the texting lingo and so on. When she sent me a text about someone's funeral followed by LOL I had to call and ask about it (just in case she'd lost the plot)
'Oh' she said 'I thought it meant Love You Lots'............. Hmm Had to share!

Already in my bed with my laptop just a short sprint from the bathroom. Dear Children have brought me up some drinks and nibbles. Bless them.
Nite all x

How is everyone this evening? I have to confess to a very selfish reason for this post, I am absolutely bricking it about my scan tomorrow.... Am sure I don't remember being this nervous with DD but think that might be because of the spotting I've had this time.... Aaaargghhh it's so hideous!!

ecstatica really feel for you on the "what things taste like regurgitated" front - yet another life skill you never knew you'd acquire along the road to parenthood huh? Hope this pg is different for you and that it stops v soon.... Although your DCs sound lovely, that's so sweet of them!

Dalrymps IKWYM about not knowing what food you fancy, our freezer is currently full to bursting with things I thought I fancied when I bought them but totally couldn't face by the time they made it to the fridge. Ah well, at least I won't have to shop much once I'm feeling better!

LadyGrace I dread to think how much weight I've put on already... am guessing I'll be weighed at the hospital tomorrow, it's not going to be pretty.... am guessing a stone but could easily be more.... So if you're worrying about losing weight I'll gladly hand over some of mine? Wink Hopefully once we're safely into the 2nd trimester we'll all start 'blooming' Hmm and things will even out.... Maybe...

Florin your DH sounds lovely, glad he's taking good care of you.

Pepper sounds like you did really well to eat anything at all, what a dreadful night for you! Hope Tesco had the right kind of juice. A friend of mine swore by pineapple juice during her pg and is still really into it now her DD is 2 months old. Hope you have a better night tonight.

JJingle nothing rational about pregnancy IME! Am v impressed by people managing to cook, haven't done anything more challenging for DD than fishfingers or tortelloni for what feels like weeks! She's had rather more nights of [insert food stuff]-on-toast than she should have done too, but I don't imagine it'll do her any lasting damage.... Or at least I hope not!

Jubble & Warlin good luck for friday! Keep us posted.

Kayzr auto correct is driving me nuts! I keep having to go back and change it because I type too quickly to do it as I go (impatient? Me?!? Wink) I might try writing the same words over and over for a bit to see if I can beat it.... fun times! Wink

Hello to everyone else, hope you're all having peaceful evenings.

nemo I feel the same about my scan! I'm a nervous wreck as I've had lots of aches and pains but keep reminding myself that the achey boobs and constant nausea is a good thing Hmm when pg with dd, ds rapidly moved to finger foods every lunch time as I couldn't bare re-heating purees and testing them he was 7mo when I found out! Luckily I managed to cook them and freeze and dp then fed him that in the evening.

I've put my tree up today the living room just looks so so much nicer! I sat here looking at it earlier and realised next year I could potentially have a small active baby wrecking it, I felt a bit sick and scared, then got very emotional over the decorations my late grandma brought us with Mum, dad, ds, and 1st christmas for dd on. Love this rollercoaster ride of pregnancy.

So far we've heard nothing more from our neighbours, we've reported them to the police but asked that its just kept on record and no action taken unless things escalate.

My arms actually getting worse from the blood test, worried, I might pop in the docs tomorrow for advice.

Hello all,
just wanted to say that the scan went amazingly well yesterday, been on cloud 9 ever since. So relieved that everything looked ok and that a wee happy, jumping bean was in there! Got a brilliant pic and spent the last 24 hours on an absolute roller-coaster of well wishes, phone calls, texts and emails. Never expected such big reaction!
Sorry for being so rude and not asking/commenting on anyone else but must get to bed, so tired!
Sleep well and will join the conversation properly again tomorrow,
xxxx
ps. good luck to all those who have their scans this week!

Dh suggested popping out for dinner so we went to zizzi's which I thought would be safe with all my food aversions at the moment. It was the best meal I have eaten in weeks I really enjoyed eating rather than knowing I had to eat. Had a small glass of red wine to wash it down with too. Now have a glass of de-alcoholised red wine at home.
I second grapefruit juice it's not to sweet and starts my day off nicely.
I have to admit my dh has been wonderful to me while pregnant looking after me and putting up with me being grumpy and sick etc. we tried for so long to get pregnant, it is now so important and exciting to both of us both doing whatever we can for it to be successful. We just can't believe it is finally happening after spending so long dreaming about it!
captainnemo good luck for your scan I am sure you will be fine although doesn't stop you worrying!

Just had to share some happy news today. A really lovely friend of mine has been trying for children for some time with all the heartache of treatements etc. Her sister offered to act as surrogate and gave birth this morning.

I'm sooooooo amazingly happy for her!

Hi all.

Congrats to those having scans! I remember how actually like a baby DD looked at 12 week scan. Could see her little button nose that she still has now.

Sorry for those still feeling sick, 4 days sick free here, still getting waves of nausea but a quick snack seems to fend it off.

Off to visit my parents in Sussex for the weekend. Be nice to put my feet up & let grandparents enjoy DD Grin

Congratulations to everyone who's had their scan already, it's very exciting reading all the good news, nemo looking forward to hearing about yours. Mine is Friday and I've spent all week thinking/stressing about it, really wish I'd booked it in the morning rather than 2pm as I'm sure the morning is really going to drag, christmas decoration shopping sounds like an excellent idea though.

Gloria how fantastic, I don't think I realised before the heartache some people go through trying to have kids so it's great to hear of a happy ending. I saw a friend at the weekend who's lost three pregnancies recently and she's now got a healthy 15 week pregnancy, delighted for her.

JJ I also thought I'd got rid of nausea as I had a whole three days without it but it's back with a vengeance the past few days, must learn to get everything done in the short periods when I feel OK. I am very thankful that I've not actually vomited though and hope those of you that are having a terrible time start feeling better soon.

Hi all. Just marking my place on the new thread. Seems such a long time ago that thread 1 began!
nemo good luck for the scan. I've been the same sort of nervous wreck the closer to 12 weeks I've got. I start of this pregnancy sort of blase (probably because actually confronting the reality of it would have freaked me out!) and now I'm a total stress head, I keep on thinking I'm imagining all the symptoms but dry heaving in the morning can't really be mistaken I suppose!
I chased the hospital today as hadn't heard a thing since seeing my GP and assumed I'd been lost in the system. Turns out I hadn't but hadn't been sent any correspondance. Booking in and scan booked for 12th Dec so not long to wait at all really and will be spot on 12 weeks by then.
JJ hope your arms are recovering, not exactly what you need on top of everything else!
Florin glad your tea was lovely, Dh is taking me and dd to pizza express tonight so I'm hoping I can find an appetite by then. Have been living off toast and coco pops in recent days although did manage to make a spag bol last night without too much misadventure!
kveta aren't we just the luckiest of ladies! I have to be so careful when I sneeze! Words of advice to first timers - do those pelvic floor exercises vigourously! I have no idea if it'll help but I never did them when I was pregnant with DD and definitely have problems now so it's worth a shot!

Hope everyone else are getting closer to those lovely days when food wasn't the enemy!

ellybett and ecstatica glad to hear I'm not the only one with stress incontinence. I did pelvic floor exercises with DS, but he was a massive baby (well, massive-headed - 99.8th centile for head size) and with a forceps delivery, I was a bit, um, damaged I think. I plan to speak to my midwife about it actually, I am sick of having to wash my own pissed-on trousers after a bout of vomiting. I am still doing the pelvic floor exercises though, just in case they help!! One french friend of mine said that apparently we should have started doing them when we were 15 to make them effective, and any time after that is too little, too late! not a terrifying concept at all!!

I am so hungry, but don't know what to have for lunch, hmm.

oh, and I posted in employment, but maybe you can all help - how do I word an email to my (other) boss to tell him I'm pg, but don't want to leave my job after the baby arrives? have told 1 boss in person, but won't see main boss until a couple of weeks time, and want to let him know ASAP!
