seven im only 4/5ths :( if I was more I'd be getting excited over the discomfort Haha ... how are you getting on?
jomouse
It's not silly at all... I'm in Manchester, and OH works on virgin trains, so its likely to take him between 2-3 hours to get here when I go in to labour... I know it'll prob be longer at home, but hate the idea of being on my own!

figgy manual extraction sounds awful, especially when you're that bunged up I'd imagine, must be painful!

kri5ty · 23/11/2011 09:48

honey unMN hugs also coming from me too x x

KateM77 · 23/11/2011 09:52

Only slept from 2-4.30am :( This is getting ridiculous!

aethel Thanks, I suspected that's what the sieve was for! Will have to look up and see what my hospital says. Not sure if I poo'd or not last time around, and thankfully DH will only say he doesn't know if I did or not!

Sorry if TMI, but I seem to have the opposite problem to kri5ty this morning and have had a bit of a clear out. Paranoid things are about to start although I don't think baby's moved anywhere downwards yet.

I'm about to go out for the day to a Christmas thing at Waddesdon Manor. They do up some of the house in decorations, there's a reindeer trail in the playground and there are Christmassy stalls etc.

kri5ty · 23/11/2011 10:02

kate yay!!! Most people I know it started within 24 hours?
oi are you around after your loose one??!

mopsytop · 23/11/2011 10:08

Honey hope you feel better. I was very emotional yesterday, it's hard. I have still got this terrible headache, midwife popped round to take BP and now have to go and get monitored again as my BP is raised :( but actually it's just a precaution, midwife not too worried, just better to be safe than sorry.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 23/11/2011 10:12

Mopsy At least they are being cautious. Hopefully, you'll be fine tho xx

OiMissus · 23/11/2011 10:13

Morning ladies, I'm trying not to be disgusted with myself because I'm still in bed. Rubbish night's sleep, I actually spent most of the night willing the baby to come out - trying to push massage him downwards! He's still high, and not engaged.
DH left at about 6:30am, and the wriggling/breathing guilt left with him so I've had a good few hours sleep since. Smile woken up with the usual broken hips and back.
Sounds like we're all pretty much in the same boat. Have a good day everyone. Hugs to all. And to all those worrying about starting contractions on your own, worry ye not, I had you lot as company for 4 hours when mine started a few weeks ago. I wasn't alone. Smile

HoneyLovesCake · 23/11/2011 10:14

Thanks for the hugs :) Darciesmum Not a mince pie fan...although I'll be making a mountain of the bloody things for DP next week...but I've already had cake this morning so I would say it is definitely not too early Wink Kate I am Envy of your day of xmas fun...cba to work today!

Hope the way that I have updated the Stats Thread is ok, I wasn't sure how it's usually done but I noticed baby Albert hadn't made it on the list & I needed something to distract me for a bit. Can't believe that was back in Sept Shock Has anyone heard from FairyBayleaf? I wonder if he's home yet Hmm

Seven, you were previously Sevendwarves, is that right? The stats seemed to fit. Just wanted to make sure as I changed your name on the list.

OiMissus · 23/11/2011 10:20

As for looseness (!), I'd been fairly constipated, then for no reason had a day of much looseness -decided it was a sign - hurrah! - and the next day was back to slight constipation again. Sad
None of the MWs have mentioned bringing sieves etc for a water birth. I'll have to ask. And I took the plastic jug out of my bag because every toilet in the hospital was full of sample jugs - which will do nicely for stingy wees.

kri5ty · 23/11/2011 10:30

oooo oi good idea, i have some sample pots here, i'll stick 'em in later now... i'm still in bed. Feel guilty but the broken back and hips is stopping me sleeping too!

PullyWoolOver · 23/11/2011 10:59

Morning all....

Sorry we're all suffering from lack of sleep/ hip and back pain. If it helps at all I've found that sleeping wedged upright on pillows helps alleviate the hip pain, although I have now started to get bum ache instead!

Baby moved up in the night and is now wedged under ribs again so not expecting any action here for a while.

Pssst, am hiding in the kitchen at the moment. My dear father has been here for three days finishing skirting boards etc which is completely fab and amazing of him. However, it seems I can do anything I like, as long as it's DIY, argh! Am bloody exhausted!

Is anyone on here based up north? Can I come and hide out at yours for a bit? I'll bring chocolate!

kri5ty · 23/11/2011 11:01

pully will Manchester do? You're more than welcome!! :o

OiMissus · 23/11/2011 11:06

Yep pully and Kristy I'm just north of Manc, in Horwich (nr Bolton) -visitors are more than welcome!

msbuggywinkle · 23/11/2011 11:07

Liverpool pully? Although with the mad DDs I couldn't exactly describe my house as relaxing...I do have cinnamon essential oil on though which is making me feel Christmassy!

I am getting things done this morning. I have thus far, fiddled with the heating settings and put a wash on, made pancakes for breakfast and talked DD1 through diving hand signals while she was 'diving' in the bath.

Next on the list...quick tidy and Hoover of the living room, tidy the kitchen ready for painting later, put clean washing away. Am just having a cuppa first!

OiMissus · 23/11/2011 11:21

I had no idea you were ooop north msbuggy!
I am going to have a bath, then go to a few nice shoppi places (crafty farm types) for Christmas presents and coffee ...and cake.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 23/11/2011 11:25

I'm a southerner unfortunately Pully

Oi Enjoy your bath & shopping afterwards :)

PullyWoolOver · 23/11/2011 11:28

Oi, kri5ty and mrsbuggy thank you fellow northerners! Would love to pop by, I'm over Leeds way but without car today Sad

It's lovely to know you're not too far away though Grin. I might just come over and say hi one day!

AwomancalledHorse · 23/11/2011 11:32

Honey, late unmumsnetty hugs from here too. x

Darcies, if there is ever a wrong time to eat hot mince pies, I don't want to know what right is. I have a big craving for hot cross buns atm.

My bump dropped again yesterday, is that quite normal? (first timer).

msbuggy, stop doing stuff, you're making us all look bad! Although I was dusting the living room at 3am....

lalababy · 23/11/2011 11:32

Hey all... feeling significantly less stressed today re DH's job. A good night sleep does wonders (only woke up once for a pee!) Figure that in one way, going on Mat leave makes my job more secure that it has ever been :)

Speaking on which... tomorrow is my last day of work YIPPEE!!! I can't wait have my sleep ins, watch day time telly, do some baking etc!

Honey too bad you don't like mincemeat... coz I made a big batch (using the left over ingredients from my Xmas pudding) and wanted tips on what to do with it other than pies.

Since tomorrow is my last day at work I wanted to bring some baked goods.. .and was thinking mincepie cupcakes... was wondering if anyone knew of any recipes!

HoneyLovesCake · 23/11/2011 11:59

lala I don't like it myself but DP does so I make my own too & often have some left over so I've made lots of different things with it....apart from cupcakes you could make Mincemeat & Apple Crumble, Mincemeat Tart, Mincemeat Frangipane Pies (like mini bakewells but with mincemeat instead of jam), Apple & Mincemeat Jalousie (with shop-bought puff), Mincemeat Strudel (with shop-bought filo) or Mincemeat Shortbread (with it samdwiched in the middle). Hope that helps :)

Thanks AWCH my bump has dropped a bit too...whenever I'm in the bath I lean back & see how many fingers I can fit between my bottom rib & LO's bum...I can fit a whole extra finger today Shock so something definitely happened overnight.

msbuggywinkle · 23/11/2011 12:03

I really really want the Sainsburys mince pie ice cream...

However, I am going to be sensible and eat puy lentil and mushroom soup for lunch now instead. Hip is bloody killing me after doing stuff, but my Cheeky Wipes kit just arrived, which shouldn't be exciting but is!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 23/11/2011 12:03

Honey Mincemeat shortbread sounds lush - have you got a recipe for that?

OiMissus · 23/11/2011 12:14

I also want the mincemeat ice-cream - with all the mincemeaty goodies honey mentions. Drool-tastic!
DH is the baker in this house, and he doesn't like mincemeat - or "dead flies" as he calls raisins. Humph! Sad

DarciesmumandBump2 · 23/11/2011 12:17

Oi get your DH to make some especially for you :)

cheeptrick · 23/11/2011 12:21

Pully - I'm in Rotherham so not far from you Smile

I have started the mincepies Blush

I have MW at 1.40pm and i'm a bit worried about it as they might want to induce me or give me a sweep and i just want to be left alone right now. I will have to say no but i'm not that good at saying no to people Confused

I haven't done much today just played cars with son and then did food and then bath. After his haircut yeasterday he looks funny as he looks like a proper little boy and i keep staring at him Blush

My DH has no more holidays left to take so i hope i have a quick labour as perternaty leave only starts when the baby is born Sad

So far nothing, no sign of labour i'm not even having BH now Sad
