Sorry to hear insomnia continues ot be rampant. I'm not sleeping too well, but have pockets of very deep sleep which make getting up in the morning quite hard! Very perverse.
Sorelip, anything with crossover straps and a waist strap will help ease the load on your back. The ergobaby is very good for bad backs, as it has wide (vertical) straps, and also two horizontal staps (one around the waist and one across the shoulder blades, between the vertical straps). No interference with my bosom! However, they're rather expensive, and have got more so since the pound depreciated
(they're German). They will last for older children, on the back!
Tyelperion, it's great to hear that your mother;s conversion is lasting, and will mean you have both your parents for Thanksgiving!
figgygal, have you lined up a list of local groups? It's good that you have thought of your temperament and the demands of maternity leave. I was very unprepared for the isolation last time, but luckily lived in a densely-populated area, with a number of parks, and gave birth in spring (so lots of outdoor meetings possible), so could build up a schedule quite quickly. Your local library may have rhyme time/songs for small children and babies, and Sure Start centres are a good place to haunt. Both will have lots of advertising leaflets for more baby-friendly activities, so you can develop your schedule from there!
