I had always thought i would try a curry if i wanted LO to come out but i read the other day somewhere in mn someone was saying that it can be a bad idea as it can have some unpleasant and embarrassing side effects if you do end up in labour, especially whenit comes tonpushing! I hadnt thought of that before!

Sorelip · 20/11/2011 21:34

I've come to terms with the idea of crapping myself in labour, but I only hope I get any runny stuff out of the way before the pushing stage. Otherwise, can you imagine the smell Shock

aethelfleda · 20/11/2011 21:46

mopsy: normal tea is completely fine in pregnancy, you're allowed
six cups a day (or three of coffee), and that is if you're sticking to the rather conservative DOH reccommendations.

Sadly whenever I'm pregnant regular tea makes me intensely nauseous (and this is from 6 weeks until I deliver). Breakfast tea, decaf tea, green tea, earl grey, you name it, I've tried it. Same for all 3 pregnancies.
Weirdly the moment I give birth this reverses. After both the DDs I had a
cuppa within an hour of delivering and it tasted soooo good.

When not pregnant I average ten cups of tea daily (it's my beverage of choice), so I have a full on psychological want for it. Weak black coffee (which I couldn't stomach with the DDs but can with Widget!) is sadly NOT the same!!

Your body might take matters in hand itself. I found that in the days leading up to labour with my first I was never off the loo, then my appetite disappeared utterly, leaving very little to digest and get rid of:)

3rd am another one for the slash and dash Grin and also due on the 31st but mine isn't scheduled until the 28th Sad not fair. Seriously can't comprehend being pregnant for that long.

Mmmm my attitude to the indignities of childbirth is that I will (hopefully) not see any of the mws or drs again and DH is stuck with me so fook it. They have seen it all anyway, so if a curry is what you need then needs must.

fusam · 20/11/2011 22:20

actually that was a bit opinionated. It's all my opinion anyway.

btw lovely bump pictures from everyone.

Xiaoxiong · 20/11/2011 22:34

You're welcome sorelip Smile

We had some seriously spicy and wonderful Chinese food last night (one of the best Chinese restaurants in London IMO) and DH was convinced I was going to go into labour - I was hopeful but no luck so far.

Pretty sure the baby is still back to back ...the front of the bump is still all knobbly so a few more inversions and crawling around on all fours is in my future.

Just want something to happen now - bored of being pregnant and not being able to sleep well.

Mmmmcheese · 20/11/2011 22:41

Im not bothered about pooing myself in labour but the thought of explosive curry farts and/or diarhoea would make me feel very uncomfortable!

Mmmmcheese · 20/11/2011 22:43

Im getting lots of wriggling movements on my right hip bone - not sure what that means re positionung?

hawthers · 20/11/2011 23:01

Same here cheese only way I know it's head down is the scan last week and the mw keeps saying yep def head down

LittleMissFlustered · 20/11/2011 23:08

The octopus was allegedly head down at my last appointment, but seeing as there's a good couple of inches of padding between bump and medical professional I get a little disbelieving at times. I have a scan in a month so I'm sure they'll get a definite then. I seem to get a lot of 'out' movements though.

fusam wow that's a close schedule to your d date! They wanted to do mine on the 24th but i said fuck off we negotiated. I want to be home with the other 2 for xmas day. DS has been hospital 2ce since christmas last year and i want all of them together. It's all rather hormonal emotional.

Now last night, i woke up with either strong Braxton Hicks or a couple of proper contractions. The real 'wave like', cervix locating deal. I was exhausted as Dh & DD were still away and DS was up for an hour refusing to settle. THis morning i only have a stcich like feeling. I was lying there desperately trying to sleep as i needed the rest asap just in case. Anyway, i passed out and woke up intacto but know i am worried about the full head engagement and that she might come early.

sevensevenseven · 21/11/2011 06:23

My waters just went laying in bed! Phoned hospital and they want me to go in, no contractions yet.

3rdOneComingUp · 21/11/2011 06:26

Wowzer! Good luck! Get thee to the hospital. Hope everything goes beautifully smoothly. xx

BeeMyBaby · 21/11/2011 06:33

so exciting seven! I'm so Envy!

msbuggywinkle · 21/11/2011 07:00

seven! exciting! Hope it goes wonderfully and that you are having lots of contractions by now!

I've been awake since 4am...I'm now tired, just before everyone else will be getting up!

plupervert · 21/11/2011 07:07

Morning, all.

seven, hope all goes well for you, whatever the outcome!

No bids for freedom here. Just eating some Ready-Brek - so bland as possibly to discourage birth!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 21/11/2011 07:39

Morning all.

Seven Good Luck and look forward to hearing your birth announcement Smile

Slept on and off last night all the cramps have gone now too. DD has not stopped talking since she got up - roll on school don't think my ears can take anymore non stop talking lol

Will be wrapping again today after taking my nan to doctors this morning.

OiMissus · 21/11/2011 07:41

The very best of luck seven!! I hope you have a great birth experience.
Am v Envy!
It's my first day of mat leave. I plan some good cleaning and prep activity, with some aquanatal type labour inducing exercises.
(my breasts are suddenly fuller and harder - surely another sign?!?)

PullyWoolOver · 21/11/2011 07:44

seven!!!! Good luck!

Who was it who predicted someone would go by Monday? We need your next prediction!

Thanks for the list mrsbuggy, seven and kate, I have also made notes!

No sleep for me last night . Scan at 1pm so will get to see what the baby is getting up to in there, fingers crossed all is OK.

cheeptrick · 21/11/2011 07:47

Excited for you Seven Smile

I'm so tired today and had morning sickness but no pains. At this rate i think i will just be induced at 40 weeks Sad

I did listen to the hypno cd last night so i'm proud of my self for getting round to doing that Blush

So i have tried rasberry leaf tea, korma, sex, pineapple and warm bath so i think its ture the baby will come out when she is ready and not when i want her too Smile

So i'm giving up now Smile

figgygal · 21/11/2011 07:52
