DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/11/2011 16:53

Cheep I remember having period type cramps and then it progressing into full all over bump contractions.

I'm very hormonal today every thing is irritating me and I feel quite tired and got some pains in my bump and cramp below Sad

OiMissus · 20/11/2011 17:02

My mum irons sheets, duvets, towels and socks. ??? I don't. I ironed all the baby stuff, but I know I'll never do it again.
Aquanatal was good this morning, she really concentrated on labour-inducing exercises for me and Bennybenbear, and I now feel very tired and achey. I pray that my current discomfort will eventually lead to labour. (positive mental attitude!) DH is very sleepy, so I keep telling him to rest as I'll need him later...
Wishful thinking!
I need to repack the hospital bag, and want to have a bath and wash my hair during the contractions... It's all planned!

jigglebum · 20/11/2011 17:03

I think I too have now reached the permanently tired and hormonal stage. I swing between wanting to get the baby out and get on with things and panic about how I will ever cope with 2!

It has been a hard week with DS ill all week. He is mostly better now but has got into some whinging, attention seeking behaviour which I am working on today! he has also passed it on to me so I have a stinking cold and don't think I would have the energy for labour at the moment! not sleeping well now. DH took DS off my hands this afternoon and I had a couple of hours sleep, which was great but was rather hoping DH would be in charge all afternoon as I had DS from morning until after lunch whilst he went sailing, but DS was crying and shouting for me by 4 pm so had to take over again. DH decided to go off and start some complicated DIY job instead - great so I have DS till bedtime now.

Looking forward to being able to have some more interesting weekends soon - looking at kitchens yesterday, tescos and washing and housework today don't classify as exciting in my life! due to having a miscarriage last christmas I have now been pregnant for about the last year of my life - and frankly bored of it!

I always post too much!!

jigglebum · 20/11/2011 17:22

Loving looking at all the photos by the way - not that I am posting any!!! Don't actually have any of bump anyway!

OiMissus · 20/11/2011 17:35

Tmi warning. Loose bowels = labour. Right? Ha ha! Tis funny when you can even look at something like that as positive. Grin (pMA)

msbuggywinkle · 20/11/2011 17:49

Yes, loose bowels have meant labour the next day for me!

mopsytop · 20/11/2011 17:52

Oooh Oi - I, too, feel you will go first!

My in-laws are visiting, we had a lovely roast for lunch and hung around reading the papers afterwards. Nice, lazy day which was good as had a terrible night's sleep, I'd say I had to get up for the loo nine or ten times (no kidding), grrrrrrrr!

mopsytop · 20/11/2011 17:53

p.s. everyone is sounding a little chirpier today, which is nice. I haven't had time to individually reply due to the in-laws visit but I hope everyone feeling down is a bit better.

PullyWoolOver · 20/11/2011 17:55

Ooh we've all had productive days! Have put up moses basket and tidied, DP has done DIY, we are both feeling pleased with our good behaviour!

cheep sounds like things might be getting moving. I'm betting you or Oi are the first to produce! I have felt nothing, nada, rien du tout in the contraction department as yet.

mrsbuggy and hawthers please can you share your list of things to work through when babies cry? I am feeling woefully inadequate in the mother department and a list would be so helpful

Just settling down to watch Grease with a box of after eights and a chocolate orange - nom nom nom Grin

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/11/2011 18:02

I went into established labour about half hr or so after my loose bowels episode with DD!

Watching grease and have a very low head and lots of cramp which is very uncomfortable Sad

Cheep & Oi I think you'll both be having babies in the week Smile

sevensevenseven · 20/11/2011 18:05

oi my mum irons my dads pants Hmm

cheep how frustrating! I was gutted last night when I realised I wasn't in labour, I'm the worlds most impatient person.

I'm now nearly 3 hours more pregnant than I've ever been! It's a bit odd though, I've been so focused on getting organised in case she came now and I think I was subconsciously expecting her to. I don't know what to do with myself now.

sevensevenseven · 20/11/2011 18:08

Isn't it frustrating how everything can be a possible sign of forthcoming labour at this stage!

3rdOneComingUp · 20/11/2011 18:09

Lots of reported nesting then and..... the labours could be starting! How exciting! Oi, i'll be checking in first thing to see if there is any development...

As my due date is the 31th Dec and slash and dash booked fore the 20th, there is no hope for me just yet. After my previous sections, I'm longing to feel contractions. I remember them from my first birth (until it went wrong) and not enjoying the pain exactly, but understanding it. I'd love to feel that again, though obv i want healthy baby and me more. Just a mild regret really.

msbuggywinkle · 20/11/2011 18:27

seven you need a project! I've ordered yarn to make my Mum cushion covers for her canal boat (in the same colours the boat is painted in!) to keep me occupied, having had DD1 prem I've been ready and organised too early for 2 & 3!

pully it went something like this...

Milk (also covers tired as I encourage bfing to sleep)
Nappy
Hot/cold
Something uncomfortable with clothes
Walking/rocking

If none of those work, I mentally go on to a list of things that might comfort something I can't help much with...

Massage (helps with wind, or a poo!)
Bath
Music and dance round the living room
Walk outdoors

You can tell that I have had a screamy baby (DD1!) most of the second list are more about distracting me and making me feel like I am doing something to help! DD2 was the exact opposite and just never cried. I have ordered another one like DD2 Grin

mopsytop · 20/11/2011 18:37

Thanks for that list msbuggy - I've made a note!

sevensevenseven · 20/11/2011 18:52

Thanks msbuggy, I guess another couple of weeks is another cardigan! DS very rarely cried either, he was pretty much the perfect baby. I doubt I'll be as lucky the second time!

pully if you're unlucky enough to ever get all the way through msbuggy's list going for a drive in the car usually sends them to sleep.

KateM77 · 20/11/2011 19:32

Another thing you can add to the list to try is switching on the hairdryer or hoover for a while. The white noise seems to calm them down / send them off to sleep when they're small

hawthers · 20/11/2011 20:06

My little list is nappy, milk, burp, rocking, walking like a madman (dh) up and down the stairs, marching around the park like a madwoman (me) and then crying/ swearing followed by praying to god they'll go to sleep or stop crying soon.

Any idea how I tell if this one is in the right position and not back to back? Am worried its going to flip to breech or something stupid.

sevensevenseven · 20/11/2011 20:15

hawthers I'm no expert but I'd assume that at this stage if baby was back to back you'd be able to feel knees/elbows/feet poking out.

BluebellsintheSpring · 20/11/2011 20:40

Oh - Oi how exciting! My money's on Cheep or Oi to go first as well.

Having bought my travel system 2nd hand, I took all the covers off and washed them; I spent two and a half hours trying to get the thing back together this afternoon. Was soooo frustrating -DH had to take over in the end!

Quick question - I was just updating hospital bag and trying to streamline. Hospital website has a list of things to bring for me and for baby. It doesn't mention blanket for baby - should I bring one or do I only need one to tuck round car seat when going home (in which case I'll leave it with car seat)?

aethelfleda · 20/11/2011 20:42

The only thing I have ironed in two years is Hama beads (you'll discover these in about 4 years time, girls!). Everything else is hung straight to dry and then folded. No-one has yet reported me to the police/social services for lack of Ironing....

Went through the baby clothes pile again as realised i had more bags than I thought from a few different friends. Discovered to my surprise I'd
been given 43 (!!!) 3-6 month sleepsuits...Everything else was much more normal, just that one thing was super-duplicated! Now I have a set for me, a set for my friend's baby and some to Freecycle.

Sounds like you girls are really cracking on now: I'm still only 34+5 and can't see baby coming anytime soon though I'm being pummelled all day and night at the moment . If anyone would like to join me in prolongued denial la la land for a cup of raspberry leaf tea, you're very welcome. I would LOVE to be able to enjoy a nice cup of normal tea though, really missing it ....

mopsytop · 20/11/2011 20:48

aethel I drink normal tea all the time. Like at least once or twice a day. Is that bad? I also drink usually half a cup of coffee in the morning. Thought that was ok, thought tea had way less caffeine than coffee?

Sorelip · 20/11/2011 21:07

Tyel I know it was a way back, but thank you for the wrap recommendation. I like the look of that one.

I'm so bored with being pregnant now. I want this foetus out! I'm necking the rlt, sniffing clary sage and covered my dinner with tabasco. I can't face being like this for another 4 weeks potentially.

Mmmmcheese · 20/11/2011 21:08

My LO is ROA (right occipital anterior) and i feel her poking knees and feet out of my left side. Is this position ok or should i be trying to get her to the left side? Am i right in thinking that they have to turn to the left to come out?

LittleMissFlustered · 20/11/2011 21:09

Three cups of out of a jar/bag caffeine is well within limits:)

aethel I get the kids to do Hama at my mum's so haven't even ironed those in years. Got to stick up for non-ironingWink
